I really love this new location! The ambiance is great with a very aesthetically appealing interior. Ive been twice since it has opened and the service has been fantastic with super short wait times. I tried the half moon latte and the iced matcha moon latte. Both were great drinks for a sweet tooth! Someone at the bar was digging into a delectable looking cinnamon roll, and therefore I will inevitably be back to try it out. Another perk of this location is the abundance of outdoor seating! There's a nice patio with what looks like a functioning fireplace. Can't wait to come back! read more

Okay. So. I just want to say, the people are great. The decor is so cute. I will probably come back. That being said, man. I really am trying to like the Iced Blue Moon Latte. I normally like lavender in things, like boba tea and shakes and ice cream. But I think personally, it was a mistake on my part to choose to add it on coffee. There is something bitter about the taste. Something too earthy. I got a 20 oz. I can't get through half of it. And again, I blame myself for this choice. It is not their fault. 2 words- Moon milk!! Its their house creamer-sweat cream flavor! I've tried their nitro cold brew and its tasty with a roasted flavor that carries through even with moon milk! The blueberry muffin is also very good, moist enough with plenty of big blueberries inside and crumbles on top! I love the location because it's in route of my morning commute. Its very easy to pull into from the main road so I'm in and out in a jiffy. The baristas are always friendly and ready. The cafe is bright and clean and I've seen both small group meetings there and individuals hang out in the cafe. Its relatively small but they also have outdoor seating. read more

Usually love summer moon but they are more focused on cranking out online orders than focusing on in-person orders. There was no one in line behind us so we just waited for the order and kept waiting while watching all these online orders being fulfilled. I finally asked if mine had been made and it wasn't started yet. Then, when I got my order it was wrong in 2 ways. I ordered a Hot Chai Latte with a shot if espresso and got an Iced Cafe Latte. Not my favorite coffee shop so I'll probably take my business that focuses more on customers in the shop. read more

Summermoon and its dangerously tasty combination of espresso and "moon milk" probably need no introduction in Austin, but in short: great coffee, great variety of drinks, and a nicely varied seating space with strong AC. The patio outside would also be nice on the right day as well. Prices for the more complicated drinks seem to be creeping higher, but this is one of the rare cases where it's probably worth the extra $$. I've grown to particularly like the 007 instead of a full/half/quarter moon. Not too busy either--if the location just north of here on Burnet is packed, you might try down here for a bit more breathing space. read more

I freaking LOVE Summermoon. I love how they roast their own coffees (and use a cool concept of wood fire roasting). The space is clean, bright, dotted with vibrant blue chairs, and just touched with a bit of a rustic vibe. Plus - for the millennials - marble tables! And a decent parking lot. Coffee here is more expensive, unfortunately, than the South 1st and north Burnet locations - but they don't charge for nondairy milk here and I usually just get a simple Americano. Their lattes are a bit too sweet for me, even without any sugar (I think their coffee tastes a little sweet naturally) and their moon milk is a condensed milk concoction with (I suspect) some brown sugar and something buttery. If you like sweet coffee, Summermoon is your destination! But if you also just want a plain coffee, the brew stands on its own. read more

However, the space is beautiful, the patio looks like it would be great now that it's cooling off outside and service is very friendly. I have been impressed with the quality of the bean juice they serve here. They make a top-notch cup of espresso and the cold brew is high octane. Ordered a 3/4 summer moon latte with an extra shot of espresso and it was given to me at room temperature. I brought it to the barista's attention and she made me another one that was just barely warmer, not even close to hot. I was excited to see Summermoon open on Anderson, around the corner from where I work. I had never tried their other locations before. There is parking available but it's limited and a tad chaotic. They have outdoors seatings, which is great. The inside is very crammed, and you walk in directly into the cash register station, which is odd, and doesn't give you any time to explore the menu. That awkward lay out left me a little puzzled, as it's not actually that small, but it feels uncomfortable as soon as you walk in. The service was fine, although a little unfriendly. After I received my beverage, I couldn't see where the half & half and sweeteners were (because of people standing in front of it in that awkward layout), so I asked the guy behind the counter, who pointed in the direction with his finger without a word and without looking at me. Sorry to bother you dude, I thought you worked there... I did not enjoy the coffee. It was sort of fruity, and a little weird. Maybe it's the new thing: those medium roast sort of acidic coffees, and that's fine, but it's not my cup if tea (hah!) and unfortunately that's all they have. I probably won't go back. read more

First time trying this place after my boyfriend recommended that I come here. Stopped by yesterday for some overpriced and sh*tty iced coffee and iced matcha. Staff was rude and unwelcoming. There was also some weird guy waiting on his order that was trying to tell me and my friend about his "crotch tattoo." That last part isn't really so much a problem with the business as it is with my first experience trying them out. If you want a really good coffee/matcha for a great price, go to Sorrento's coffee house down the street. It's a small little drive through with a walk up window as well. The people are always nice, the drinks come in big sizes for a way better price than summer moon, and service is always fast. read more

This is my favorite coffee shop to work and study. They always check the box for delicious coffee and drinks, but the atmosphere is what seals the deal for me. Three quarters of the walls are full length windows, providing a bright and cheery atmosphere. I appreciate the constant hum of the customers, music, and espresso machines. If you prefer a more silent environment, this place probably isn't for you, but still swing by for a delicious treat (my favorite is the half winter moon). read more

Clean and modern environment that is great to pop in and grab a coffee. Being one who appreciates well roasted coffee, this is not a place that I would come to sit and appreciate the brews but its a great location for dependable, quick, and quality iced coffee in a pinch. Racist employee! Felt like I was being segregated form white paying clients . Don't go here if you want to be treated like a person. I was standing in front where you pick up coffees, a girl working making coffees asked me loudly to go wait on the left side of the store, I understood not standing in front of the pick-up area and asked if I could stand to the right of the store where others were waiting, she said no and that she would be telling them to move too. I moved to the right side, she never told the other people to move who were white. A homeless guy comes in she loudly told him to leave several times as well. More white people ordered (like 5) and stood to the right of the store waiting for their orders while I was the ONLY client waiting for my order to the left of the store and nothing was told to them. Never going here again. I spent a lot on coffees just to be treated like I wasn't welcomed there for being a person of color. Not a good feeling. read more

Love the vibe in here - the aesthetic, the music, the people. There was even a cute little boutique show thing while my friend and I studied. We considered taking a little break. The barista noticed I was having a bad day, reassured me I was at the right place to feel better, asked me a few questions, and made me the most delightful drink to try. I stayed long enough for a hot tea afterward too. Both of the baristas on duty were taking cleanliness of their counter and equipment very seriously and stayed busy. They dont take the time to make any of my family members' drinks right or tasty and they're rude and unfriendly. One of the things I loved about summermoon was their employees, not just the coffee. I've been going around to try coffee from as many places as possible and have finally decided to start writing reviews. I bought the espresso and traditional macchiato. The coffee here has a nice acidic and earthy taste but has burnt aftertaste similar to a Starbucks coffee that gives it a unpleasant finish. I'm sure this coffee would taste leagues better if the coffee didn't overcook. read more

The baristas were nice and explained a few of their specialty drinks to me. I ordered a wood fired drip coffee with "moon milk". The coffee was good but I wish it was a bit stronger. Love this coffee shop and I'm glad they opened so many new locations. They have outlets EVERYWHERE! It's a small place so it gets crowded very easily, but when you can find a seat there is bound to be an outlet right next to you. Their wintermoon drink is good. I hope they'll start selling more food items though, because then it would be perfect. They have a large patio with lots of outdoor seating. read more

I do love this place. The coffee is fantastic. I like the velvet blaze drip and the cold brew. Topped off with some moon milk, uhhhhh. So good. Parking seems to be cramped, but there is parking on the building. Staff is always friendly and if you forget your card in the reader they will run into the parking lot to give it to you. They have only one size of cappuccino. That by itself seems a little weird. They serve only medium roast coffee. I'm more of a dark roast guy. It's a very small space with few tables. While the service was very friendly, I don't expect I'll be switching to this place from my standby Starbucks anytime soon. I want to support the local guy, but only if they're as good or better than Starbucks. I know plenty will disagree with me, but Summermoon can't compare in my opinion. read more
