Cheese, egg, avocado, hot sauce with a croissant

This is a great place to take your dog. It's a very relaxing atmosphere. The food was fresh and tasty. The wait for the food was a bit long. But I was able to start with a chia pudding cup and coffee while I waited.

The Yuzu Special - Murky, the cold foam disintegrated immediately, and the milk and matcha was already separating upon receipt.

Vibes, Butters the goat and his bestie, and a cozy setup - Civil Goat has the atmosphere. Their coffee can be a hit or miss (love their dirty chai, but their cappuccino is off in ratio so the espresso didn't shine) with their matcha special leaving me sad and $10 out on watery, low grade, separated "matcha" I had to throw out after two sips. Photo comparison is all ya need to understand my disappointment. What I received (before tasting) vs image on their ordering system.

Came here before my pottery experience and really enjoyed it! Everything was delicious especially the matcha. It's a great place for kids to, my daughter was making friends with the other little people there. Really recommend the croissant sandwich.

An excellent lil cafe in the Cuernavaca neighborhood. There are very few coffee spots out this direction and it is always poppin at Civil Goat - TG they added extra space and parking in the last few years to accommodate the crowds. It would be awesome if they could extend opening hours for early birds and add a bit more signage about ordering & picking up from the patio. I hope they also continue featuring local art on their walls! We love their drip coffee and cappuccino, and have even purchased bags of their beans to enjoy at home. The baristas are great at their craft and always kill it with the latte art (minus the time I had a mediocre matcha latte). Food is solid but slow. The breakfast croissant sandwich was a bit too sweet for my liking. Açaí bowls seem to be the way to go. In case anyone's wondering, the OG goat's name is Butters!

Seasonal Matcha. Not a promising color.

My friend and I decided to visit to try out a new place. It's overall cute, especially with the goat, but it's a bit small. I got the seasonal rose matcha while my friend got a matcha latte with lavender. I thought both were okay, but my friend thought both were pleasant. It did take around 20-30 minutes for both of these, so the reviews about wait time unfortunately were true for our experience. My main issue was that I had ordered an açaí bowl that never arrived. We waited for over an hour assuming it would take a while considering the wait time for the matcha and slight rush, but then they started closing. At this point, we had to leave anyways, but it was unfortunate paying 30$ for two items and missing half of my order. 2/10 from me and 4/10 from my friend.

Stopped in for an almond milk cappuccino (tasty and not bitter). Friendly baristas, nice size patio. Would like to come back to try food

Super cute coffee shop!! The coffee, breakfast, and pastries were all SO GOOD! The layout is super cute with lots of outdoor seating and there are actual goats on site which is an added bonus! Definitely check out this unique coffee shop in the Austin Hill Country!

Very busy coffee place with cute goats to watch. I enjoyed my iced latte. The parking lot is a bit beat up but great place once you get your car safely parked

We arrived at Civil Goat a little after 11 am. It was difficult to find a parking spot but we found one! The goats were in the shaded areas of their pen since it was hot. Immediately upon entering we were told to order at our table. When we said we were paying with cash we got a sort of irritated look. I went ahead and ordered at the table and paid by card at table to not be a "pain". ***BE WARNED, they will charge you a 16% "wellness charge" on top of the steep prices.*** They do bring your food and drink to the table but you have to bus your own tables. It's not full service so not sure why we have to pay this fee... My sister accidentally ordered a hot drink instead of iced and the baristas acted like it was such a huge inconvenience to remake it. Then, she received her sandwich with a hair. We asked to have it remade. She happened to walk in to grab a spoon while they were talking crap about her. They have quite a bit of outdoor seating. Indoor seating is limited and this Texas weather is HOT. The food was good but I just can't deal with terrible service. We are not locals, but I definitely wouldn't come back.

If this is Butters, it looked like he lost one of his horns. You could say...he's seen butter days!

Found Civil Goat when in Bee Caves and looking for a place to kick some time with a tasty caffeinated bev before going to an office open house, which would not have tasty caffeine. It was chilly outside, so we were glad to land a couple of seats inside. Was busy, but wasn't too loud. Score! I had a latte with honey and, to quote Agent Cooper, it was "a damn fine cup of coffee!" Technically, it was espresso, but when you have a heavenly sip, it calls on your soul to draw a recognizable pop culture quote from your psyche to express the joy you feel. It was one of the best darn good belly-warming, tastebud tickling lattes I've had in ages. Lastly, I had to go outside to say hi to the civil goat mascot, Butters the Pygmy goat, before leaving. There were two goats, but one was staying inside the little goat shed. The one outside looked like Butters, but was missing a horn. Regardless, he was, indeed, civil that day. Stay civil, friends!

I love their Cuerny Sam! It's super delicious and hearty. I come here often for it and noticed their new self-ordering system. Before the self-ordering system, it used to take a very long time for the food to come out, but their new system seems to speed things up. There's limited seating indoors, but there's quite a bit of seating on the patio. They also have a small area for the goats outside.

Ask the Community - Civil Goat Coffee Co

What kind of oatmilk is used? Is it gluten free?

What times does the goat hang out? Open to close or just set hours?

There are no "set times" for the goat. It's random and, apparently, up to the goat.

But I enjoy new experiences and menus with eclectic dishes. The menu had few choices for breakfast and I was unsure why it was suggested as a breakfast place. It's actually a good place to eat any time of day! The beautifully decorated patio provided the perfect welcome into their modestly decorated air conditioned restaurant and bar. When I say bar, it's more like a 1950s bar that you can sit at and have a meal at. Although drinks and meals were offered any time of day! The waitress was pleasant and helpful in suggesting add ons with my meal. But being a purist, I wanted to try it as intended. The food arrived in the normal amount of time. When I first saw my mozzarella omelette I was a little surprised! It didn't look anything like what it was described as! Oh well! I thought. Let's give it a try! My taste buds were happily amazed! Could this omelette smothered in mushroom gravy, green "pesto" and bread crumbs be the best omelette I've ever had?! The mushroom tomato gravy was so smooth! Along with the cilantro avocado topping. That tasted more like pesto, gave it the perfect zing! I had wished I the had ordered some toast to dip in the sauce. I could have done without the bread crumbs. But they were easily swept to the side. The amount of mozzarella cheese in this omelette led me to believe it was more of an omelette lasagna than a plain old omelette. This place is definitely a must if you are visiting Austin!

My first experience here was amazing, which is why I was excited to come back for breakfast…read more Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing. I ordered the migas, and the amount of onions in the dish was overwhelming--so much so that it felt like I had ordered a plate of onions rather than migas. The masa cakes were definitely the standout item and were absolutely delicious. However, the rest of the dish fell short. The sauce was extremely rich, making it difficult to enjoy or finish the meal. That said, the restaurant itself is adorable, and our waiter was fantastic. The service and atmosphere were both great. While this breakfast wasn't a hit for me, I'll still return and stick with favorites like the fried green tomatoes and taquito salad, which were excellent during my previous visit.

The Lox n' found croiffin comes with a toasted croissant roll, smoked salmon, ricotta, avocado, arugula, capers, pickled onions and dill. I added an egg for an additional charge of $2. It's a small space, with only around eight tables and a tiny kitchen behind the counter. It's a bit hard to locate from outside. There's no big sign on the window indicating the restaurant's name, just a plastic A-frame sign outside the building's doors. When I got there, four of the eight tables were empty but the dirty dishes had not yet been cleared. It took close to 10 minutes for the tables to be bused. Because the kitchen is so small, I'd recommend going up to the counter to order as soon as you get there. I believe you can also place your order online using the QR code on the table, but I didn't try that method. I ordered the lox n found, a toasted croissant roll with smoked salmon, avocado, dill ricotta, arugula, onion, and capers. The menu says it also comes with a side of roasted potatoes, but mine didn't come with that. The sandwich was delicious and filling, so I definitely didn't need them, but I do feel like I didn't get what I paid for.
