it's been a little over a week and my gel mani has already chipped off on two fingers and has gotten air bubbles (?) on almost every other nail... not sure what's going on here but def regret spending $104 on this

Absolutely destroyed one of my fingers by cutting the cuticle too to far. It bled for an hour, avoid at all costs. Best part- no discount after this injury, full price for the this. Was my first time and will certainly be my last.

Nancy was great! Clean, fast, well done technique. $48 for gel mani. They have a great aesthetic to the place, I liked that they have a more quiet relaxing atmosphere which they enforce with signs to keep your voice down and phone calls brief. Definitely adds to the relaxation.

What I got : Gel Manicure Price : $47 (without tip) Quality : they did a great job! Probably the most meticulous gel manicure I've ever had. I got a single color, and it took a total of ~45 - 60 minutes. I was impressed by the quality and definitely worth the price! Appointment : Yes, they let me make a same day appointment for 7:45pm which was convenient (there are 2 Summer nails in NYC so make sure you are making an appointment at the right one Atmosphere: Very relaxing. They have signs up about not being on your cell phone and everyone was socially distant so it never felt to crowded.

This is a great spot if you're in a pinch and need a quick appointment but don't really expect your nails tô last much longer than a few days. The first time I visited my mani and pedi were done in under 30 minutes? But the second time I went they did a much better job. Still a bit pricey for what it is. read more

The most important thing to me when I get my nails done is the filing part. I got a manicure and a pedicure done and the technician filed way too close to my skin on not only three of my fingers but also on my toes! It only gets worse from here because anyone who's experienced this before knows it stings when they start wiping your fingers with alcohol. Well three of my fingers stung so bad. I expressed to her multiple times that I was hurting and I even had to pull my fingers back more than once because she kept filing way too harsh. She didn't express any sympathy and worse yet did not change the way she was filing my nails. I've never experienced an insensitive response like this. It was obvious she didn't care. This was the worst manicure I ever got and my gel polish also shows streaks. I usually go to their uptown location but the experience at this new location has left me not wanting to come back ever again. Pass. read more

Fantastic nail salon in a town of zillions of nail salons. Wanted a last minute basic manicure for me and a pedicure for my husband. They took us as walk-ins on a gloomy Fall Sunday afternoon. Lena did my nails. Jessi gave my husband his pedicure and they were both extremely good. Lovely 1 minute neck and shoulder massage for both of us while I was sitting with my nails in the dryer. The salon is calm and quiet. Super clean. Prices extremely reasonable for Manhattan. Just go here instead of looking for other places. They have all kinds of more complicated nail services if that is what you are looking for. read more

Walked in mid day Friday and was helped immediately, but the place was completely full by the time I left. Got just the most basic regular mani pedi, and it was pricier than many places, but truly had the quality of gel!! Lasted perfectly for two full weeks now on fingers and toes. Service was lovely. Beautiful new nail studio on the corner of 23rd and Park. The interior is impeccably decorated with plant motifs, comfy chairs, and a relaxed setting. Jessie gave a great gel manicure with a neutral, light color and a quick neck massage. She was very careful about all nail edges and getting a smooth coat since the color was sheer. I had a wonderful experience getting a gel manicure here! I'm just visiting the area and rely on yelp reviews, and these did not disappoint! My nail stylist was so thorough, and did not rush through the manicure like I have experienced at other salons. Both the stylist and the receptionist were so sweet and friendly! I walked in with no appointment, no issue. I was offered as much time as needed to choose my color. The salon itself is beautiful and clean! My actual visit to this salon went great - very clean, very professional staff, etc. I had a gel manicure and it looked pretty good immediately after. My nails were done on a Friday, and on the following Thursday morning after (exactly 7 days) I noticed the edges were already chipped. I don't do any rough work with my hands, so I was a little disappointed that the nails lasted only such a short time. They have a policy where if your nails chip within 7 days you can get a redo, but I was right at the cut off and also away from town. I really didn't expect this to even be an issue given the other good reviews. read more

This place is a gem! They were able to take me last minute on a Friday afternoon and gave me an excellent pedicure. I'm glad I sprung for the 10 min foot massage option - so good! The decor is chic, everything is immaculately clean, the staff is friendly and seems to genuinely care that you have an excellent experience. Tons of high quality nail polishes to choose from including Essie. They truly thought of everything as their drying station includes a basket with quick dry and plastic wrap. Could not recommend them more, will definitely be back! Prices were very reasonable given how high quality it is. read more

Not the great customer service for the price you pay, expensive. The person who did my nails scratched my ankles so bad that it made it bleed and it really hurts. (cuticle remover is for the heel not the ankle not sure why she kept scratching that area). The nails look "fine" but the gel manicure was painted already with almost 1 millimeter from the cuticle which means by next week it will probably look awful. read more

What a great find. My husband and I stopped in for a mani-pedi out of the blue. This is one of the cleanest salon I've seen in NYC other than in a spa setting. The technicians were very well trained. All dressed in clean uniforms and extremely thorough. My only negative comment is the lack of interaction with them. Very quiet and aloof. But overall a great experience. read more

This was my second time visiting this salon. My first visit, I got a dip powder manicure with Ella which was wonderful. This time, I got a pedicure and dip powder manicure with Nancy. The pedicure was hastily and sloppily performed, and the tech was so rough with my cuticles that she caused a significant cut on my big toe that took multiple attempts to stop the bleeding. For my manicure, again the tech was extremely rough and aggressive in the way she cleared my cuticles, leaving three cuts total on the cuticles on my hands. I have had countless manicures and pedicures in my life and never experienced cuticle grooming as rough and painful as this. The price for services at this nail salon is above average, which means I should be getting above average service, and it is unfortunate that I paid $116 to leave with cuts on both my fingers and toes. I will not be returning to this salon because I will not risk paying that much money to leave with cuts again. read more

I found Miss Bliss on Yelp as a business open Sunday evening and walked in around 5 (they close at 7). All the seats were full and 2 girls already waiting, so they advised the wait would be an hour bc of this existing appointments. No problem for me since I thought this was still plenty of time to get in before closing. They were able to seat me around 5:45. I requested Gel-x (my first time but also my nails were pretty short and damaged from my picking off the last gel as it grew out). Jenny began meticulously working on cleaning my cuticles and sizing me up for the tips. I don't know what they look for, but she definitely worked through the different size options, and even re-applied one of the tips bc she noticed something was off. Honestly, I don't think I have have noticed but I do appreciate her attention to detail, she obviously cares about her craft. So 7 pm rolls around, the 3 other customers that were still there and had wrapped up their nail sessions. Julie, the other nail tech offers to finish up my polish design to let Jenny go home to her kids. I'm definitely feeling bad for keeping them past closing, and I am secretly hoping they rush through the polish so they can leave. NOPE! Julie takes her time on my design, and finishes up with a nice neck and hand massage, warm towel, and we all finally close up at 830. I am super grateful they continued to dedicate time to my service, while not sacrificing quality. Left a fat tip since I know Jenny and Julie will be splitting. my rating is between 3.5 and 4…read more i called ahead to see if they had any availability, and since they had pretty good ratings on google and yelp, i decided to go for it. my nails were getting way too long anyways. it was a very typical nail salon, the exact kind you would imagine when you think of one. she didn't ask what length i wanted and just went straight for the cut. by the time it came to filing, my nails ended up super short, and i am definitely a longer nail kind of girl. i'm not sure if she simply forgot to ask, but i'd like to think she was looking out for me and knew my nails would chip if they were kept too long. i went for a regular gel manicure since i told myself my nails need a break after this. when she was done, she gave me a shoulder massage, but it was very brief (shorter than the typical massages you get at nail appointments) and only on one shoulder, which felt a little odd. upon leaving, i immediately noticed a flaw on my left thumb. there were visibly tiny bumps, and once i noticed them, they kept bothering me. my conclusion: always go to the nail salon you trust, and that is exactly what i should've done.

I came here with detailed requests but READY with photos and she did nothing like I asked. I got a french pedicure. I showed her a picture and asked her if she had the same base color, she went on a different spectrum. I told her I wanted a really square shape, she disregarded that. And what annoyed me is she didn't even clean under my nails! She gave me literally a one minute massage because she was trying to rush out and go home. They charged me $30 more than I do at home for literally MEDIOCRE work. When I tipped her (decently but also didn't have to) she didn't even look at me or say thank you. It was pretty damn rude. In most New York nail salons, they'll make you pay extra for everything. They don't have the largest color selection for non-gel polish, but the owner was kind enough to help me look for what I wanted. I would definitely come here again -- for a basic pedicure it's only $35, which is a steal for the value and care they provide.

They told me $70.20, and no one mentioned that the price could be higher. During the appointment, it became clear that they didn't know how to remove my previous gel properly. It wasn't a "different type of gel" -- they just didn't know how to do it correctly. Instead of properly filing it off with the machine, they only removed the color layer. Then they wrapped my nails in foil and left me sitting there while the nail technician did a full pedicure for another client, without saying a word to me. I was just waiting the entire time. When she finally came back, she seemed surprised that the gel was still there -- and only then started removing it with the machine. She never explained anything to me, and I felt very uncomfortable because they were clearly experimenting on my nails. In any professional salon, hard gel is removed completely with a machine -- not like this. At the end, they told me the total was $164. I was shocked. They said it was because of a "different gel" and a "different service," which wasn't true -- I had told them in advance that it was hard gel. If they had informed me that the price would be higher, I would have decided whether to continue or not. When I calmly explained that no one mentioned this, they refused to listen. Then, when I asked to speak with the employer (the boss/owner) who wasn't there at the time, she got on the phone and spoke very rudely, claiming the nail master had told me about the higher cost -- which was a complete lie. The worst part is that they both started threatening to call the cops, even though I was polite and honest the entire time. I ended up paying with my foreign card, using my last money, but the way they treated me was absolutely unacceptable. While I was talking to the employer, the nail master stood there chewing gum and didn't even look at me. It was clear they were covering for each other. She never told me about any extra charge. I left the salon very upset and disappointed. I believe honesty, professionalism, and communication are the most important parts of good service -- unfortunately, I didn't experience any of that here. How can professional staff, instead of listening or offering any solution, threaten me by saying, "We will call the cops! We will call the cops!!!"? I've been doing my nails regularly for five years, and I've never had such awful quality and service. They didn't know how to remove the gel properly and then put all their mistakes, my waiting time, and the extra costs on me and my pocket. To make things worse, the final work was low quality -- on my pinky finger, they added Gel-X and didn't even file or shorten it. It's longer than my other nails and hurts

This place had great reviews so I called & they had availability for a regular mani-pedi in 20 min so I booked it even though it seemed to be much pricier than any other nail salon I'd been to for a basic mani-pedi. The person on the phone (who was not the technician & doesn't seem to operate out of the salon) actually told me the wrong price on the phone (she said $100 for a regular pedi when that's the gel price, regular is $75). Regular mani is also $75 which is the most I've ever seen for a basic non-gel manicure. In any case, when I got there it took me a min to figure out how to get in (it's on the 5th floor of a locked building & you have to find it on the top directory screen to be buzzed in). The space is a small (but very clean & soothing) room with 2 cushioned chairs for pedicures. There can only be 2 people getting services at a time (which is great for a quiet, relaxing space). The floor is shared with various salons, and the bathroom is in the hallway by the elevators (there are 2 unisex bathrooms, spacious & clean). The tools are taken out of a sealed bag, I assume after being sterilized (really appreciate the cleanliness). I was offered water or Prosecco--I opted for water since I'd just had a tequila drink, but otherwise I'd have been all for the bubbles. Anyway the mani-pedi are both "dry" (which I'm not generally a fan of, and I wouldn't have booked if I'd known but I did not check the website beforehand) so there is no soaking of the feet--though she did pour water on them to wash off the foot scrub. No scrubbing/massage is done on the legs. The chairs are cushioned (not massage chairs). I really liked my nail technician, Jennifer, who quietly but diligently worked away on my toes and let me just chill & read on my phone. With my manicure I got to see up close how thoroughly she worked on my nails. I noticed cute nail art of cherries painted on her own nails so I asked her if she did nail art & she told me a bit of nail art is included in the price. Well then! I asked her to draw a white flower or something pretty on so she painstakingly drew on little flowers with a very thin brush on my ring fingernails. It was really cute & just made me happy to look at after! Long story short I think the services here are kind of overpriced for what you get but 5 stars for Jennifer who did a great job & is such a pleasant person, and the space being so clean & zen. I don't know if I think a pedicure is worth it here for me, but maybe I would try a gel mani next time since it was a very good quality mani that I would love to have a long-lasting one.

I was a walk in and requested a manicure with nail extensions and a cateye gel design, and experienced all the issues below 1. When the gel x nails were applied, too much glue was added on 4/5 nails on my right hand which caused my skin to burn when putting it under the light. I asked 2x to file away the excess glue as having it touching your skin and encapsulating your natural nail is unsafe, and it was not properly addressed. She started with attempting to dig it out/separate the glue from my skin using nail clippers which hurt and pierced it. And when I asked the second time, she simply filed it with a regular file so it was flat filled surface underneath my nail. 2. My nail extension was filed crooked. When I asked for it to get fixed, they attempted to but ultimately caused the nail to appear weird. 3. They were unable to create any of the designs I asked for. Nor was anything really explained in terms of what could be done. (The person next to me was given a few options and asked for her preference). 4. After I left, I noticed the top coat had a bubble on one of the fingers. I am usually not really the type to be super bothered on small details like design, shape, and issues with the top coat as I understand some things can be missed. However, I chose to get my nails done (rather than doing them myself) for the safety of a professional and correct application. I can overlook all the issues except that. Overall, I would not be returning nor do I feel comfortable for them to fix it. I am just disappointed and needed to share for those who may have similar concerns or thoughts. 2 stars are for the vibe, cleanliness, kindness, and good cuticle work.
