So I'm here right now. We have had to stop the servers each time just to get water. One of my cocktails took so long to come out that I stopped the waiter to cancel it. The ambience seems nice until you realize the entire interior can be cleaned by spraying it down with Windex. The food is good, high caliber bar food and the staff are personable and attentive. I had the Southwestern salmon salad, which was very good. My colleague had the fried chicken salad, also good. Beware of the bottomless mimosas. That's the first thing I have to say. They truly are bottomless and it can turn into a disaster really quickly... THAT SAID (haha!), the food is pretty good, but in my opinion, it isn't anything too extraordinary. It's a little overpriced for how it tastes. I've had the mac and cheese (probably my favorite of all of their dishes), their fish tacos, and a few salads. It doesn't really feel that inviting and a couple of times the service hasn't been all that great. Whether it was forgotten requests, rude waiters or too long of a wait, the service has stuck out in my mind as not the best. Summit Grill is a must for brunch . I had a chance to check out the restaurant and watch the Chiefs play . I have to say the food was so good . Very much a conform meal with the Chicken Fried Chicken , I added a side of scrabble eggs and breakfast potatoes. Really good especially the seasoned gravy to top it off . We went here to celebrate my son's 28th birthday. The food was great - try the sliders. The restaurant vibe was cool. My only issue was that I made reservations and I did not get the opportunity to pick a high or low top table and we ended up at a high top table. It was tough for my mom who is on the shorter side had trouble getting up and down on the stool. And they were unable to give us a low top table. We made do. As I walked in I was greeted very warmly by the host. I was a little late to the happy hour party, but I was able to get my order entered in a timely manner thanks to the host once again. I was able to wrap my lips around the juiciest steak tacos I've ever had, dressed with cotija cheese, onion, cilantro, and chipotle cream. I also ordered some of the only shoe strings fries I'll actually like, because they are tossed with Romani cheese and truffle aioli; served with a side of garlic goodness sauce that deserves its praise on the menu. I may have to become and Mac & cheese connoisseur because I have been coming across some gems lately. We brought our friends from out of town here for brunch because we had heard great things about the place. I was prepared to be amazed. We were seated right away without a reservation and our server greeted us with waters. Their brunch menu selection is small but it seemed like everything on the menu was well prepared and delicious! I stuck with the original breakfast but others had the hash, breakfast tacos, and Omelette and I didn't hear any complaints. We didn't opt in for the bottomless mimosas but for $16 that would be a good option. My friend got a $6 Bloody Mary and she said that was a steal. The booth was a bit dirty when we sat down and during COVID, that always gives me anxiety, hence the 4 stars, not 5. Overall I enjoyed the experience but I was not blown away. I love summit grill, but not this location. The service is a hit or miss. I went in and tried to order a fried chicken salad and the lady said I could only get it at lunch time. HOWEVER, online ordering I saw it available for dinner. Then the next time I ordered online and was able to get the salad with no problem.... Well slight problem as they gave me the salad with no actual chicken. Lucky enough I noticed when I got in my car before going home. There is a noticeable difference in the amount of chicken this location gives compared to my preferred location LS. The last time I dined in the waitress was rushing us as she was about to get off. I must say, I wasn't that impressed with Summit Grill on my first trip there. For a Sunday brunch, the place was rather empty, so others may feel the same. There wasn't anything wrong with the place, but there wasn't anything right, either. My breakfast biscuit and breakfast potatoes were enjoyable enough, as was the mimosa. The service felt apathetic. I'll probably return to give it another try if I'm in the area, but I won't make a special trip. Everything was good all around, and the portions were definitely generous! My brisket hash was great, but slightly dry/overcooked. I like my brisket slightly more moist, but that is personal preference. The Pickle Bloody Mary (spicy version) was definitely delicious and complemented the meal very well. Love Summit Grill! We typically come for brunch or happy hour, but they also have a great dinner menu. It's a little more on the upscale side for American food, but you can get a sandwich and fries for around $15. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich was one of the biggest chicken sandwiches I'd ever seen. It was delicious. They also have a black and white margarita that is one of my favorite drinks in KC! This night was my last night in Kansas with my family before I had to head home, so instead of eating leftovers, we decided to go out to eat. I believe I have been to Summit Grill before, but all I remember was that I got the hummus and my nephew was quite a bit younger. This time around was definitely more memorable. We ordered a few different things. My BIL got the Chicken Fried Sandwich, my SIS got the Summit Grill, my mother got the Summit Grill without Cheese, my nephew got the chicken tenders and I got the Blackened Mahi Mahi Tacos. My SIS and mom said their burgers were juice, and huge. They were definitely full after the meal. My BIL really liked his sandwich, at one point he jokingly stated that he asked for 1 small chicken thigh, dang it. Which was referencing how ginormous the chicken piece was on the sandwich, which he ultimately loved. I got the Blackened Mahi Mahi Tacos, it was 3 tacos, with a side of rice and black beans. The black beans were really good and warm. I didn't eat the rice because I was too full by the time I finished the 3 Tacos. Each were so yummy, there was a chipotle sauce, and or a little lime juice on each. It was fabulous with the vegetables on top. There were other things I wanted to try, especially the Seafood Mac and Cheese. I just didn't' think I would be able to finish it myself because their portions were so big, but worth it. Maybe next time I will talk my SIS into sharing that with me. Anyway, I will definitely be coming back when I'm in Kansas, if my family wants to go here. It has a great ambience to it. I have been one of Summit Grill's major fans for several years and I have sent many patrons there who have since also become major fans of this place. But my recent visit was a disappointment. It seems the prices have climbed even higher, which was bordering on too high for the food served. Food has always been quite tasty on everything we've had, but with that in mind you can only fancy up a "chicken fried steak" so much, before you outprice yourself on it. Lastly and most importantly, we saw the sign on the door where they are reinstating a mask requirement on August 2. BAD idea. There are way more customers out there that prefer to NOT where a mask than those that favor it. So you are alienating your majority clients. For this reason, I will no longer patronize Summit Grill. We all know the sheer illogical nature of wearing a mask to your table and then removing it, as if the supposed virus doesn't travel from table to table. So mask wearing in a restaurant is ridiculous and Summit Grill is selling out to the minority. Sorry, you just lost a ton of great customers. read more

I didn't have high expectations of this place to begin with but I still wanted to give them a try. Unfortunately, it was not the most pleasant experience. We parked in the back and walked in the back entrance with no direction that we needed to walk to the front to find the hostess. There were multiple employees that walked past us but made no attempt to acknowledge us. As we walked to the front, we realized quickly that this place is SO loud. It was great to see how busy they were for the weekend brunch crowd, but the noise was overwhelming. Not to mention, the staff (from hostess to bartender) did not seem to care to be there. I get it, sometimes we're not always 100% thrilled to be working, but you figure it out when you work in the service industry. As for the food, it was just ok and not much else to say about it. I went here with some co-workers and bosses for a mini celebration of someone birthday. It was amazing! We parked in back and used the back entrance to enter. It is very clean in there and has the perfect setting for work lunch, or if you want a nicer lunch. They easily had a table for all 6 of us. My tea was never past half full (and I drank quite a bit). We decided to start with an appetizer of the spinach artichoke dip. I highly recommend asking to have it made gluten free, because the chips were blissful. They had a great crunch to them, while also being flaking, with the perfect amount of salt to them. I decided to go with the lunch special of Shrimp Campanella Pasta. There was plenty of shrimp in my pasta, a wonderful amount of the sherry roasted mushrooms, and just enough of kale and squash. I could only eat half of it, there was so much. What pulls the entire dish together though is the butter sauce. It's just thick enough to stick to the noodles, but not thick enough to coat my ribs.
