I've been here a couple of times for holiday parties, especially we come here for their signature Roast Prime Ribs of Beef that comes with au jus, whipped cream horseradish, creamed corn and spinach, and Yorkshire pudding. The meal itself is very classic and nostalgic, but what makes this place over the top is the beautiful skyline of the OC area. They offer valet parking and ample self-parking. What I also appreciated about this place is that they offer private events, where they allow you to tour the spaces (taste test food options) and provide very helpful information to make your event a success. They offer different packages, and staff will ensure to put you in touch with the right point of contact for your specific needs/accommodations. Always grateful for the hospitality here and outstanding food!
I had no idea such a nice steakhouse existed in on this unassuming hilltop in Fullerton! I attended an event in the banquet hall, which is separate from the main restaurant and had a wonderful experience. The service throughout the evening was exceptional, each staff member was attentive and friendly. The meal service was very well paced. We started with cocktail bites, including a braised short rib bite, lobster bisque, and a shrimp bite with mango salsa. Then, they served a butter lettuce salad with pecans, cheese, and a Dijon vinaigrette, which was refreshing and light. Prime rib - 4.5/5, it was cooked PERFECTLY! A thick, generous cut with an excellent medium-rare doneness. It could have used a little more seasoning, but the horseradish cream sauce paired great with it. Creamed corn - 5/5, my favorite side. I love corn and this side's sweetness complemented the rest of the meal. Yorkshire pudding - 4/5, was surprisingly large! It was well made, I'm just not a huge fan of it. Creamed spinach - 3/5, I don't think I liked this texturally, but I still appreciated having a vegetable alongside the meal. Dessert sampler plate - 5/5, mini creme brûlée and their signature Chocolate Lover's Torte with a whipped cream/strawberry/rolled chocolate plating decor Parking is something to keep in mind. There is a small parking lot and valet directly in front of the restaurant, but spaces are limited. Fortunately, there is also an additional lower level parking lot. Just be aware that it is a short walk on a small hill between the lower lot and the entrance, so plan accordingly if mobility is a concern.
Came by for dinner the other night and it was a mediocre experience. Summit House is located on a hill with fantastic views of Orange County. Parking was available both valet as well as self-park. Dining seemed to be available in the dining room or in private rooms. The entire experience felt like "old money." It appeared that many diners were there for a special occasion. Started off with the crab cakes which didn't have much crab...bummer. It was more like breading with a little bit of crab. It didn't taste like crab cake either. The scallops appetizer was also lacklustre as the bacon had some heavy baking soda aftertaste?!? The mushroom appetizer was different. Highlights from the meal included the dry aged prime ribeye which had a fantastic char, fantastic marbling, and cooked to a perfect medium rare! Portions were gigantic and perfect for sharing! The chilean sea bass entree was also gigantic and really nicely executed with super flakey sea bass. The bone marrow mac and cheese was very rich and came out as a gigantic portion, perfect for sharing. Our waitress throughout the evening was fantastic. Ended the meal off with the dessert sampler which was a fantastic way to try out all their desserts in a smaller portion! ~$110/head after tax and gratuity with plenty of leftovers!
I visited this restaurant for the first time and made a dinner reservation for my mom's birthday. Every Wednesday, they have discounts on their roasted prime rib cuts. For example, the cottage cut (seven ounces) costs $39 instead of $59 on Wednesdays. Despite the pricy menu items, the food quality, service, and ambience make for an excellent opportunity to celebrate a special occasion. Firstly, we ordered the seaside sampler for four as an appetizer. This included Chesapeake Bay-style crab cakes, chilled Mexican prawns, and ahi sashimi. I enjoyed the ahi sashimi the most as the large and fresh slices had a nice sear with a savory seasoning on the edges. The crab cakes tasted great and filling with a dill horseradish aioli as the menu listed. While I didn't try the prawns, my mom enjoyed those the most as they had a slightly sweet flavor. I did enjoy the cocktail sauce. Secondly, I ordered the cottage cut, which included seven ounces of roasted prime rib, creamed corn au gratin, creamed spinach, and a Yorkshire popover. The cut tasted lovely at medium rare as it had a soft texture and good balance of meat and fat. I appreciated that my mom got an especially thick cut of prime rib. Seven ounces feels just right for me given that the entree includes other sides. The creamed corn au gratin tasted a little sweet without an overwhelming flavor. I liked how the creamed spinach had a similar taste. A Yorkshire popover has an airy texture with a buttery and eggy taste. Au jus and horseradish butter elevated the prime rib. Thirdly, we had an English trifle for dessert. The menu says that the trifle consists of cake layers soaked with rum and brandy, including English custard, strawberries, Chantilly cream, and caramelized sliced almonds. It had a uniquely sweet flavor due to the soaking, and the almonds provided some crunch. I found the dessert tasty. I found the staff polite, friendly, and professional. Our server disclosed the discounts on their prime rib cuts and listed their prices. She also mentioned other featured entrees in detail. The staff also consistently refilled my water glass. We also had the opportunity to ask another staff member for olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette for our baked bread. He came back and made a little small talk, fondly reminiscing how his former restaurant would serve the same sauces with their bread. My mom also got a birthday card with a printed message and signatures from the staff. The restaurant provided a simply elegant ambience. While entering the indoor seating area, we passed an exhibition kitchen and table displaying various desserts. Customers generally wore semi-formal clothing, and the restaurant recommends business-casual attire. A pianist played various songs and tunes to make for a fancy yet calm atmosphere. I especially enjoyed how the pianist played "Clair de lune." It felt nice to experience a rare moment of hearing classical music played inside a restaurant. The restaurant also provides valet parking if you can't find a convenient spot.
Self parking is quite limited near the restaurant and extremely tight. There is an additional lot at the bottom of the hill but doesn't seem like there is a stairwell/walkway up and you will need to hug the curb walking up the hill. Your best bet is free valet, with tip of course. French Onion Soup -soo good. Gruyere was plenty and perfectly melted. Hokkaido Scallops -scallops were cooked perfectly, tender and silky. Pecans in the sauce added just the right amount of texture. We dipped out commentary sourdough into the sauce and it was perfection. Bone Marrow Mac n' Cheese -really cheesy but not overpowering, paired well with the decadent bone marrow. However, it was a bit heavy that we ended up taking the rest to-go. Summit House Cut (10 oz Prime Rib)- we ordered all around medium and our server made sure it was perfect before setting it down. She was understanding and willing to bring it back if the wellness wasn't to our desire. Tender and as expected however, we did end up asking for more au jus as it wasn't enough. Sides that came with Prime Rib weren't my favorite but they were decent. Creamed spinach not much flavor, liked the creamed corn better. Yorkshire popover was not that great, a bit too crisp on the outside that it seemed dried. Our table asked for au jus poured overtop and it helped a bit but still quite dry. English Trifle -syrup that cake is soaked in made it quite sweet. If you don't like wet mushy cakes you won't like this. Caramelized almond brittle helps bring in some extra texture.
The food was amazing and the service was great. We sat in the area with a view, and it was all very splendid. From the beginning to the end, absolutely amazing. This restaurant is definitely worth the wait. My husband had made reservations months in advance. Very nice experience.
Beautiful restaurant and an amazing view. Surprisingly well-kept facility for its age. Airy ambiance with live piano music. Friendly and attentive service. The complimentary bread and butter is Amazing!
What a great experience! Would have loved a window table for our anniversary but maybe that's a special request. Our waiter was great! Very personable and was around at all the right times. Drinks: we got Soul Mate Sour and The G&G - I LOVE guava so the g & g was 10/10 so delicious! Soul mate sour was just fitting for the occasion. For our appetizer we got the sampler since we couldn't choose but if we go back again we'd get the ahi sashimi. They had a special salad available that night and it was delicious. It was probably arugula, pear, pistachio, goat cheese, and a vinaigrette. VERY GOOD. I don't have a photo of my partners food but he got the cottage cut roast prime ribs which again, DELICIOUS. And the horseradish options?! We still think about them. I also really loved the creamed spinach it came with. His plate was wiped clean. For myself, I got the salmon which is always a risky choice because more often than not it's cooked dry. Not this time... it was buttery and soft and perfectly cooked. Overall, this was a 10/10 experience and I'd love to go back for more.
Came to Summit House for a Valentine's Day dinner. Everything was amazing! Restaurant- Cute english cottage restaurant. Beautiful outside, gorgeous inside. They had lots of parking, with valet option available too. Inside they had many fireplaces going and live piano music. All of the tables are facing a beautiful view. Such a beautiful ambiance. Service- Cameron was top tier. He was so sweet, helpful with questions and recommendations, and frequently checked in to see how we were doing. Our food also came out within 5-10 minutes of ordering it. We were amazed how fast the food came out! There were also kind gentlemen that came to clear our plates whenever we finished a dish. Such amazing service. Food- Food was 10/10. We tried escargot for the first time and my date loooooved it. It wasn't my cup of tea but they prepared it wonderfully. My date ordered the lamb and I ordered the John Dory fish. Both were excellent! The bread and the cream corn were wonderful too. To end our night, we got the carrot cake which was to die for. It was so moist and delicious!
I was told by a coworker to try Summit House for my birthday and I did. I went on a Sunday in August. We sat in the main dinning area. I really loved the open kitchen layout. The manager, waitstaff, and others were all very pleasant. I'd never seen John Dory on the menu at other restaurants so I had to try it. It was a 10/10. The cream corn, Mac n cheese, crab cakes, and prime rib were hits too. I didn't like the creamed spinach much, but not too bad. The patio area I saw as I went to the ladies room. Maybe I'll sit there next time I go. I give this place 4 and a half stars, but Yelp doesn't allow half stars, so I rate Summit House 4 stars.
You know it's a celebration at Summit House. The private uphill entrance exudes exclusivity while the House on the hill provides a scenic view of the city. Make reservations because this restaurant was packed for Valentine's Day. There's private parking in the limited lot and they also have valet parking. The dining experience was superb and our server, Marissa, was very attentive. Despite being very busy, she always made sure to check on our table, snapped a great photo, and provided great detail of the menu. The Filet Mignon (7oz medium rare) was one of the most tender beef I've tasted. The chef cooked it perfectly with a seasoned crust on the outside and tender lightly red in the middle. The accompanying Béarnaise sauce elevated the dish. The creamed corn was savory with lots of corn and creamy flavorful sauce. The escargot was tender and cooked in delicious garlic butter. I used the complimentary sourdough bread to dip in the sauce which made it divine. I couldn't end dinner without dessert, which I tried the Caramel Bread Pudding. It was so good, and not too sweet. The bread had some crisp edges, which juxtaposed with the soft ice cream. The flavors melded together very well. I recommend requesting a table by the window to see the city lights or even the outside dining area. I will definitely come back for another celebration.
I finally got to try this place and just in time for the OC restaurant week pre fixe menu! The food was nothing special and I'm not sure if I'll ever be back. Blue Cheese Iceberg Wedges - well balanced salad with creamy blue cheese dressing on crunchy lettuce leaves, the bacon bits and pecans added great texture and umami to the salad, tangy tomatoes complemented the rich dressing well Prime Rib Castle Cut - DONT get it. You're basically paying for bone. I got the castle cut expecting more meat but nobody lets you know that it is a bone-in cut and less meat than expected is pretty disappointing, ordered med rare but came out more medium, au jus and horseradish were good flavorful complements since the meat was on the bland side Creamed Spinach - on the salty side but complemented the weaker flavors of the prime rib Creamed Corn - very flavorful and definitely creamy, thoroughly enjoyed this one Row 503 Pinot Noir - dry enough to complement the prime rib, easy to drink and great pairing NY Style Cheesecake - dense and decadent cheesecake with tart strawberries and strawberry sauce to pair, great ending to a savory dish Besides the food, the biggest flat for me was the amount of critters during dinner. There was a big fly circling the dinner room, a crane fly hanging around our window from the inside, and a little spider crawling around the dining table. If I'm expecting to pay a little more for a classy dinner, these are things I'd never want to encounter.
Came here with my family on a Friday evening and had a reservation for 5:15. Got seated pretty much right away. We ordered the OC restaurant week special and I picked the lobster bisque, 7oz prime rib, and cream puff dessert (sorry can't remember what it's called). I couldn't have wine since I'm pregnant and was hoping they'd let me sub for a non alcoholic cocktail. All they could offer me was a soft drink so I opted for sprite + lemonade. Pretty bummed about that since a glass of wine was roughly $13, which is the same price as a cocktail. The lobster bisque was delicious and kicked my meal off pretty well. I had to order the steak at Medium which definitely made a difference for me. I didn't full enjoy it but the sides were amazing! We had creamed corn, creamed spinach, and a popover. The creamed corn was probably one of the best that I've had. My dessert was also fantastic. I was insanely full but had to keep eating. It was 2 scoops of ice cream in two cream puffs and the flavors just worked so well together. I've never had a dessert like that and it was definitely one of a kind! My only gripes is the critters we kept finding. There was a fly buzzing around the table for the first portion of the meal. Then after the soup came out, a spider crawled across the table towards my son and my husband had to get it with his hands. Then; towards the middle to end of the meal, a crane fly was flying around the table. I've actually never had a problem like this before in any restaurant so it was a bit annoying. Overall; the experience was nice and the best part was the dessert. I'm not sure if we'd come back though.

We dined at Summit House to celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary. I made a reservation for a Saturday evening for a party of 5 and we were seated promptly upon arrival. Our table was near a window with a beautiful view of the city and the skyline/sunset as well as a pretty area with grass and benches and trees. Our waitress was Daisy which was super informative, knowledgeable, attentive, and sweet. The Chai Espresso Martini was delicious, loved it!, I ordered the Cottage Cut Prime Rib. I asked to substitute the creamed spinach with the au gratin potatoes and I asked for an end piece of the prime rib. Everything was perfect and delicious. The meat was moist and flavorful, the creamed corn and potatoes were loaded with flavor and delicious as well. We also ordered the bone marrow Mac and cheese and it was great! What stood out to me was the what I'd describe as sharp cheddar taste/flavor was perfect! Our dinner was a 5 out of 5. I was very pleased, I'm bummed we didn't try Summit House a lot sooner as it's so close to home. We will definitely be back! read more
this place is absolutely beautiful Inside and out. they have a stunning view of the hills and the service, wow, impeccable. you really feel like your an important guest when dine here. they had a lot of great dinner options the creamed corn side was delish. For me personally the food was pretty decent it wasn't anything that blew me away but it was definitely decent. I would come back here again just for the service and the ambience forsure. the partaking can be alittle busy but they do offer valet which is nice. beautiful establishment! read more
We got married here a year ago, came back for our 1st anniversary dinner. This restaurant is totally for boomers and I mean that complimentarily. The ambience is just so gorgeous, especially at sunset where the colors of the night sky permeate the cozy 'hunting lodge' through large, stately windows Crab cakes Lobster bisque French onion soup Castle cut prime rib Cowboy ribeye Prime rib was so good. We did not finish... not even close. Soups and crab cakes lean little salty. The lemon had a cheesecloth wrap on it, so nice. Creamed corn addicting. read more
I've been a fan of Summit House for years, drawn back time and again by the elegant ambiance, stunning hilltop views, and what used to be reliably outstanding prime rib. The creamed corn and Yorkshire pudding are still highlights that bring fond memories, and the overall vibe makes it a great spot for special occasions. But my most recent visit was a letdown that tempered those good feelings. Our waiter, Branden, started off okay but quickly adopted a bit of an attitude--short responses and a vibe that made us feel like we were bothering him. When our prime rib arrived, two out of the four cuts looked off: the meat was separated and falling apart, not at all like the juicy, intact slices you see in photos or on the menu. It almost seemed like we'd gotten the rotten or poorly handled end of the cut--definitely abnormal compared to what we expected. We pointed it out politely, but Branden insisted that's just how it should look. Meanwhile, glancing around, every other table had those picture-perfect, uniform slices that matched the hype. After some back-and-forth, he eventually offered to replace them, but not without a degrading eye-roll that made the whole interaction uncomfortable. The new slices definitely looked much better in terms of appearance, but cutting in, our medium rare and medium orders were still overcooked--more like medium and medium well--and the centers were oddly cold, which killed the enjoyment. To top it off, Branden didn't even offer us dessert, skipping that part of the service entirely. We almost felt like we were being discriminated against, given how attentive he seemed to other tables. It's a shame because I've had flawless experiences here in the past, but this time felt rushed, subpar, and unwelcoming. I'd would recommend Summit House for its classics and atmosphere, but quality control and service need a lot of tightening. Hopefully, this was just an off night. read more
Tried their Happy Hour in the bar area. Not a large bar area but they do have a few table/chairs in addition to the bar counter top. Good selection HH drinks and foods, and you can still order from the regular menu. Our highlights were the Lavender Lemon Drop, French Onion Soup, and the charcuterie board. I could probably have several of the lavender drops and the charcuterie board had a god selection of meats, cheeses, nuts, grapes, honey, and crackers. My hubby and I went here yesterday for dinner to celebrate our anniversary and had an amazing experience. We started off by ordering the Summit House Margaritas, which were very refreshing and tasty. After we finished our margaritas we ordered a second round of drinks; I tried their Lavender Lemon Drop, and my husband had the Rosemary Ginger Old Fashioned. Both of these drinks were unique and tasted great! For our entrees we both ordered the Roast Prime Ribs of Beef (cooked to our preference of medium rare) in the Summit House Cut. Our entrees came with Creamed Corn au Gratin, Creamed Spinach, and a Yorkshire Popover. We also ordered a side of the Bone Marrow Mac & Cheese. As an added bonus for our anniversary, we were given a dessert of Profiteroles au Chocolate on the house. Everything was full of flavor and tasted delicious. (For the prime rib I'd recommend ordering the cottage cut, unless you're particularly hungry). This restaurant is not cheap, but you do get large portions of food. We had plenty of leftovers to take home, which was nice. Our server (I believe his name was Jacob) was very polite, attentive, and provided helpful menu recommendations. He had our food and drinks brought out to us quickly. The entire staff made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in, and even gave us a sweet anniversary card signed by everyone. Lastly, the atmosphere of the restaurant was wonderful. The interior is very spacious and beautifully decorated. There was soft piano music playing in the background, which made the ambience very pleasant and relaxing. We also had window seating with a beautiful view, and a romantic setting. :) We will definitely be coming back! read more

Father's Day was celebrated here and the service is always great! It feels like your grandmother's house with the giant fireplace and family style seating. It's such a cute place, I love coming here. To start, we ordered the seaside sampler: crab cakes, Mexican prawns, and ahi sashimi. This appetizer was delicious and consumed entirely by our party of 5! For our entrees: prime rib that included creamed corn, creamed spinach, and the infamous Yorkshire popover! The French onion soup was incredible, filet mignon with au gratin potatoes my daughter ate her entire plate up. We tried the bone marrow Mac and cheese and this was rich and filling. For dessert, we decided on the caramel bread pudding with Haagen Dazs vanilla ice cream, hot caramel sauce, anddddd salted roast pecans! It was so good :) This is a great option for large parties or if you want to dress up a bit. I think it's even okay if you wanna go more casual. People wear whatever the heck they want these days anyway lol. Summit house will always have my heart, and stomach! read more

I've always wanted to come here - checked it off the bucket list finally. Great spot for a fancy dinner/special occasion. Nice to dress up and enjoy the views outside. Food was definitely nice and quality. The favorites were definitely the Mac n cheese and the creamed corn - both very very very good. I think the corn just comes as a side for everyone? The cream spinach was good as well, came with the pot roast. The pot roast is like their signature dish, so that's why we got it, but I don't think I'd get it again personally. The salmon was good as well. We left very full with leftovers. Filling meal and plenty of food with the free bread too! It's obviously expensive too, so idk if I would make it a regular thing, and I don't know if it's my first choice for an expensive dinner, although I'm glad we tried it. Probably won't come again for a while, but just because we aren't eating fancy expensive dinners every week haha. Service was friendly and helpful when deciding what to order. We didn't get dessert although they looked delicious. read more

Good food, and attentive and friendly service. I recommend making reservations as we came on a Monday evening and the restaurant was quite full. I ordered the Prime Rib cottage cut and found it to be filling as it was also accompanied with a popover, creamed spinach and creamed corn. The food came out in a timely manner and was enjoyable, but the real star of the show in my opinion was the Bread Pudding which we ordered for dessert. Make sure to save room as this was one of the best bread puddings I've ever had! The exterior was slightly crisp, and it had the perfect ratio of custard to bread. It comes topped with candied pecans and ice cream and as someone who isn't even a fan of pecans, I can say I thoroughly enjoyed every last bit of it! Complimentary valet and self-parking is available. Being that it's perched atop of a hill, Summit House also has a nice view of the city. read more
Great food, great ambiance, and stellar customer service. They are known for the Roast Prime Ribs, but honestly... everything is great. I usually get the Summit House cut and it never disappoints. They serve it with cream of corn and it's delicious. We tend to start dinner with a salad, followed by scallops as appetizers and then the main dishes. Customer service never lets down. The views are spectacular by the way. Try to sit by the windows for a spectacular view of the City. read more

Summit House is of my favorite fine dining experiences tucked away from the noise of the city. With a menu that screams for over-ordering I am never disappointed by a dish ordered from here. On my most recent visit, we enjoyed an Easter lunch featuring delicious dishes like the Castle Cut Prime Rib - a massive amount of meat served with delicious au jus and the lightest creamy horseradish that I couldn't get enough of - alongside the Bone Marrow Mac 'N Cheese and Brussel Sprouts with rich flavor in every bite. I thoroughly enjoyed each bite while being able to look over the calming outdoor balcony area. Kudos to the female manager on duty for accommodating a move out of the sun on a busy holiday - I saw her doing her best to accommodate similar requests and ultimately the outdoor experience was wonderful as the sun quickly passed over to allow the umbrellas and shading outside to play their roles. Service had been up to par and standard as well - Darian is who had taken care of us if I'm remembering her name correctly. She was personable and attentive and responded well to our sense of humor, giving a bit of extra warmth to the dining experience. I highly recommend the Bread Pudding pictured as well. As someone who falls into the "not too sweet is best" clique I can say that this was a dessert I would come back for all by itself. Rich flavor and texture, with an amazing presentation and portion for sharing. I can't wait to make an excuse to come back. Thank you Summit House for being prepared on an Easter Sunday! read more

Best prime rib, steakhouse I've ever been to! Prime rib has lots of flavor and you get the opportunity to have two sides and cream corn comes as standard for the table to share. I enjoy that you don't have to make a choice between the cream of spinach or the cream corn. On Wednesdays it's prime rib Wednesdays, where a plate of their standard cut is $39. Service was great and you really do get a fine dining experience . Servers come back quickly to check on you and they really prioritize the customer experience. We were also celebrating a birthday and they give a nice hundred card and a complementary dessert which makes the dining experience much more memorable and personalized. ambience is that nice old times vibe which matches the vibe of getting a prime rib dinner. There's lots of seating available and lots of parking available as well. I enjoy the fact that you do not have to drive out so far to experience good prime rib and I'll definitely be coming back in the future read more

Had reservations on a Wednesday night for their prime rib deal. The cottage cut was perfect for me. The meat quality imo was way better than lawrys. I ordered mine rare and it was perfectly tender and juicy. Their horse radish cream perfectly balances the rich meat. My bf and I were both surprised by the complementary sourdough bread basket ugh their butter is so good. Next time we would skip on the bone marrow Mac and cheese which was not cheesy enough. Service was amazing and quick. Our prime rib was out within 10 mins of ordering. We ran 30 mins late to our reservation but we were still accommodated. This restaurant is one of my favorites. It is so classy. I love the front door! That red just pops! We came here to celebrate my birthday! We ordered a bottle of my favorite wine: Caymus. This wine is soooooo good! For dinner, we ordered the Skuna Bay Salmon, which was oak-grilled with a sweet chili glaze. It was served with spinach and cilantro-lime rice. OMG ... to die for. Very flavorful and it was a good-sized entree! We also ordered the Roast Rack of Colorado Lamb which was their special that night. They usually do not have this on the menu. It was an oven-roasted, herb-rubbed lamb with a spicy sauce made with citrus and flavored with marigold and mint, and served with garlic mashed potatoes. I'm not a fan of lamb but omg soooooo good! Not gamy at all and super tender! I highly recommend this dish and I hope they add it to their menu. We also ordered their creamed corn because I love love love their creamed corn. To die for! For my birthday dessert .... They brought me the English Trifle. It was made with fresh strawberries, topped with Chantilly cream, toasted almonds, and a raspberry on top. Too strawberry-ish (is this a word?!) for me but nevertheless still good! There was a card at our table for me for my birthday and I found it sweet that the staff signed it. Most restaurants do not do this so this was a classy touch. I will definitely be back! Next time we will try to get a table by the windows for the view! The service here is phenomenal! Best prime rib in Orange County. Love this place, my go to spot every time I'm in town. Beautiful restaurant with the most breathtaking views and intimate dining rooms. Attentive staff and impeccable service. My must haves are the wedge salad, escargot, truffle fries, and the caramel bread pudding. Came here as a group of 5 with a reservation for dinner on Wednesday and we were seated right after we checked in! We've been here a couple times in the past and we've honestly never been disappointed! ~the food~ - Cottage cut prime rib (usually $54, but $38 on Wednesdays only!): Their prime ribs comes with their famous creamed corn, creamed spinach, and Yorkshire popover. Their creamed corn is so sweet and delicious and pairs amazingly with their Yorkshire popover. I felt that the creamed spinach was a bit too salty for my taste, but was still delicious! Their prime rib cut is very tender, and flavorful! Personally, the cottage cut is more than enough in terms of portion (I almost with they had a smaller size)! - Big rock blue cheese iceberg wedges ($16): Iceberg lettuce wedges topped with tomatoes, bacon, pecans, and their blue cheese dressing. Even though I'm not a fan of blue cheese, I really enjoyed this salad! The portion of this salad is quite big, so I recommend sharing this between 2-4 people especially as a starter. ~parking~ Parking isn't generally an issue as their restaurant has a decent sized parking lot! ~overall~ The ambiance is very nice and cozy, it truly feels like a house. The service was also great! Our server was very attentive and made our dinner a great experience. Pricing wise, I think that the because of the food quality and service, I think it's a great deal! You can tell that they use really nice quality beef for their prime ribs and so I think their pricing is super reasonable! read more
I so wanted to love the Summit House based on friends' recommendations, albeit from years ago. We decided to come for our anniversary. The nice opening touches were appreciated- a signed by all staff personalized anniversary card was waiting at our table. Although we couldn't see the view, our booth was comfortable. Our server, Luke, was as attentive as he could be given the amount of tables he was responsible for. But the kitchen timing was off, and the bar could not make a basic margarita despite two tries, and I am pretty forgiving. The lobster bisque was soooo salty and I love salt. It was so bracingly salty that I could not finish half of it. My filet mignon was lukewarm to cold when it came out. My husband's prime rib was hot... we deduced it was because the large party of 12 next to us mostly had prime rib, so mine probably sat around for awhile. Since I already sent back my marg, I just gave up after 2 bites and the air fryer or microwave it will be for lunch tomorrow. They did send out a complimentary Chocolate puff pastry with choc chip ice cream, which was decadent and helped redeem my mediocre dinner. $35 corkage fee which we gladly took advance of, but then my husband opted for the $85 forty year port... guess one balanced out the other. read more

It's such an amazing deal. $38 for prime rib, creamed spinach, creamed corn, and Yorkshire popover. We also ordered a side of truffle fries and it was DELICIOUS! I love how crispy the shoestring fries were and the truffle flavor was everything! They make you feel so special when it's your birthday, they gave him a signed card and a free birthday dessert! What a gorgeous restaurant. We celebrated my husband's birthday here last week and had a fantastic time. The service was wonderful. Our server was named Dakota and he really made us feel welcomed. The food was top notch. The caesar salad is incredible, especially paired with the bread. My husband and I split the 10 Oz filet. It was delicious. The scalloped potato was a nice touch. We also loved the creamed corn and creamed spinach. We brought a bottle of wine for a corkage fee, and also had additional drinks. My husband was given a complimentary birthday card and dessert. His parents enjoyed their entrees. My grandpa is a light eater, so he just had a bowl of French onion soup and he loved it. We will definitely be back. read more

this popular steakhouse in fullerton sit on the top of a hill. it has a beautiful view of the suburban lights and the restaurant interior is very homey and classic. this was my first visit and i was surprised to enjoy it as much as i did! we went for my birthday and so they gave us a free dessert with a little card signed by all of the staff. it's definitely a pricey spot, but they give some complimentary items so you could fill up without breaking the bank if you wanted to. Hokkaido Scallops 2 giant scallops wrapped in prosciutto and sitting in a cheesy cranberry apple pecan chutney. the sauce with the pecan and cranberry mixed together so well and complimented the scallops. such an interesting dish and so good! Bone Marrow Mac n' Cheese for a side dish this was HUGE. i love mac n' cheese but honestly this was not my favorite. i felt like it didn't have too much flavor and felt very overly fatty to me (more than normal mac n cheese for some reason). it does come with some chili flakes that add a nice little kick. French Onion Soup Gratinee this soup was amazing. it was savory and just slightly sweet from the onions without being overwhelming. the giant chunks of bread were soft yet crispy and deliciously soaked up the broth. the melted cheese tied it altogether nicely as well. this was a win for me. Lamb Chop w/ Risotto this was a seasonal dish and tbh i didn't care for it as much as i thought i would. the meat was tender and good but the cheesy risotto lacked character for me and the honey chimichurri sauce was too sweet for my liking. Roast Prime Ribs of Beef Cottage Cut i don't like beef much but if i go back i'd order this instead. this plate was loaded and the meat was tender, the yorkshire popover was soft and crispy, and it comes with unlimited horseradish sauce and creamed corn. Wow. Came here to celebrate graduating and finishing the semester with friends, everything is top tier: service, food, drinks, and ambiance was perfect. Live piano music on a Sunday night. Ordered: Truffle Fries: 10/10 appetizer finger food, perfectly crispy and seasoned shoestring fries, debated ordering when we emptied the basket, but needed to save my stomach for the main dish. Summit House Prime Rib: 1000/10 my camera does not do this plate justice, I got it medium, perfectly cooked soft and juicy and au jus is a MUST. Creamed spinach wasn't too salty, was my first time trying a popover and loved it!! Saw all the reviews about the creamed corn and didn't think much until I actually tried it, had probably half the dish by myself. Lavender Lemon Drop: 10/10 drink went by too quickly, but as someone who hates the taste of alcohol this was a fun tasty drink! My friends ordered the Moscow Mule and the Chai Espresso Martini, both solid options as well. Spicy Pomegranate Paloma changed my life for the better 100/10 for the DDs of your group. After hearing friends raving about Summit House, hubby was eager to go that weekend! Concerned that outdoor seating was the only option, it turned out to be a blessing, as we were privileged to be personally seated by their manager to our table, fabulously located offering great views! The outdoor dining area is appealingly open & airy, with the tables comfortably spaced apart. We were also fortunate to be served by Jen(nifer), who was fun-&-personable, knowledgeable on the restaurant's history and the menu, and offered fabulous service, which was comfortably attentive, yet completely unrushed -- and who I'd later discovered happened to be our friends' server during their visit. A complimentary loaf of warm sourdough bread served with a ramekin of softened butter was a tasty accompaniment with our preprandial martini cocktails -- respectively, vodka and gin ($19 each). We started with their Summit House salad, split ($15), followed by Roast Prime Ribs of Beef - Castle cut, split, ($94.50); our split entrees were attractively presented; the prime rib extremely generous in size (more than I could consume) and beautifully prepared; their horseradish is a nice balance between chunky and creamy. Given the theme (English inn and prime rib), I chose their English Trifle ($15) as the finale to our meal; however, we didn't enjoy the dessert -- took just a couple of bites; it was not what I'd expected in presentation or taste (the strawberries were not the texture I'd imagined and were too sweet for my preference). Apart from the selected dessert, it was a lovely and memorable evening. Their receipt notes, "Your Special Occasion Place"; indeed, I agree, and shall be among our go-to places for a celebration... or as it was for this first experience, a fun-&-special date night. Limited self and complimentary valet parking is available in front of the restaurant; with a full lot, we found parking in the Vista Park lot below, making a fun uphill walk to dinner and a nice downhill walk along the trail after our meal (surprisingly, the path was not lit at night). Looking forward to returning to experience more of their menu items -- and their bar, as well. read more

They have coffee, tea, soft drinks, lemonade. Their non-alcoholic cocktails include the Strawberry Mule and Autumn Pom (this one might be seasonal).
How strict are you on the kids menu? My 15 year old only likes the food offered on the kids menu, would she be able to order from that or get something comparable for more money.

Our Cottage is 7-8 oz, the Summit House cut is 10 oz, and the Castle cut is 24 oz.

We’re not aware of a sulfur smell, we haven’t smelled it and no one has mentioned it.
