It appears my original review was deleted. We were extremely disappointed with the service we received at the restaurant. We waited in the lobby for a good 2-3 minutes. Finally a person appeared but didn't welcome or address us. Then turned and left. A few minutes later, he reappeared however 2 more groups also arrived. He proceeded to seat them first even though they insisted we were before them. We left the restaurant and went to Cle Elum for lunch. We will never visit this restaurant again. read more

I stopped here on the way from Yakima to Seattle based on a recommendation. It was lunch time and I was hungry. The restaurant is attached to a hotel. The restaurant has a log cabin feel to it once you're inside. It has large amounts of seating, most of it is booth seating. There's a full bar with a pool table is in a separate bar area. I ordered the cheese steak sandwich with fries and au jus. It was a good, filling meal. It was mediocre comfort food and it appears that their entire menu encompasses the "comfort food" genre. The staff was friendly and attentive on my drink refills. The seating arrangements offer great views of the mountain. If it weren't so late in the afternoon, I would've loved to try the pancakes. I would stop here again. The price is right, the food is good and the people are friendly. read more

I think the reviews on here are rating this on an unfair scale. It's a mountain diner, people...on that scale I think it delivers exactly what it is. The service was great. We had water and coffee before we even opened the menu. The food is your run of the mill diner food and consistently so in a way that's comforting. It's totally dated, which is all I what I want from a small affordable diner. No, it's not a place I'd recommended as a "must stop" but in a place where breakfast options are limited on this stretch of highway, it's exactly what you'd need to do the trick in a place with outstanding views from the parking lot. read more

Friendly kind staff. My waitress and the busboy were both super attentive and professional. Food was decent- just fine for a road trip. Was surprised to find buckwheat pancakes on the menu- unusual. Waitress special ordered me the berry special made with buckwheat cakes, blueberries bananas strawberries and whipped cream. Love this place! Quality food and great service. Our orders were always quick, even though they were super busy. Food is excellent and the portions are great! Everyone in our 7 person group loves the bacon - which almost never happens. The salads were crisp and fresh and so yummy! We stayed at the hotel and several meals here and all were pleasantly delicious crowd pleasers. When we were too late for dinner, they still made us bar food which was all yummy and still hit the spot after a day of snow play! The staff here are the best part. Breakfast all day in the snow? yes please! I've been here about a few dozen times. Only because they serve breakfast all day and also because of their location. If you come to the pass for any kind of snow activity and want something before you get into your gear and all that, you come here. Or post skiing/snowboarding , even tubing! I love hovering around the fire place next to the snow just as much but this is just comfy. They are usually pack on weekends especially if you come around the ski/ lessons time ie 8-10 am or around 12-1. Service is as good as you'll get for the diner. Food is decent. I've had their pancakes. I've also had some eggs, omelets and so on. They are all a ok. I can skip eating here. One thing I remember being really good though is their hot chocolate! I love hot chocolate in the snow! Hmmmm all warm and cozy and sweet. Prices are quite reasonable too. Now this is a pancake house. It is a diner! Not 5 stars dining. But it is also the only one you'll find around here without driving a few miles. Its right next to the exit, free way and that pass! You can always eat at the summit west but it's a zoo. Free parking lot outside. It is pretty convenient. Simple spot, very slow service at times, simple décor, friendly people with the coolest views outside! Hooray for ski season!!! read more

FRI APR 22 2016 I'm a retired trucker who has stopped in at the Summit Pancake House (formerly: The Family Pancake House) for decades. This, I can tell you: The service has been friendly and prompt; the food is good; prices are good, the dining area, tables, table settings, etc. are clean. The restrooms are clean. Plenty of parking. My buds and I would park our big rigs along the roadside. Service in the skiing season is good, but takes a little longer at times. A few days ago on a casual drive in the countryside, I brought my girlfriend to the Summit Pancake House. I had a short stack, so big so good, but could not finish it all. My girlfriend had the Belgian Waffle w/strawberries and whipped cream. She barely finished her meal but was determined to savor every last bite. She wants us to come back, and we will. Do not expect Five-Star dining here. The Summit Pancake House is far away from the vendors who deliver the food and beverages, etc. to a location high on top a mountain range. Please be fair and sensible when writing a review. Some of the reviews I have read here are not consistent with what I know to be reality. So you do what I did- you cross your fingers, and bring the whole fam damily. Today was a hit. Eggs Benedict came with perfectly poached eggs and plenty of Hollandaise to spread over my delightfully crunchy on the outside/cooked through the middle hash browns. We drove up to the pass this morning to check out the snow levels and see the mountains. We had breakfast here. The coffee was very smooth, no hint of bitterness. Eggs were cooked to a perfect medium. Bacon was crispy crunching but not overly falling apart. The service was excellent. Our server was very busy. At times he was actually running. They handled everything very well. I did notice a different large party having a bit of slow service with their waiter. But they were a party of eight. My favorite place to go in the afternoon after a night of drinking when I don't feel like driving to Roslyn. Typical, glorious diner coffee, and the food is decent -- a lot better than it used to be under previous owners. I usually go for the I-90 special, French toast, or Swedes. For lunch items I stick to the club sandwich or teriyaki/yakisoba - better than you would expect. Also the only place on the mountain with a pool table when the ski area isn't open. The P-House was also the only spot open and serving limited hot food when a huge snow storm closed I-90 in both directions and knocked out power for several days during Christmas a few years ago. They had a generator running so locals could come in and warm up and charge electronics, which was more than any other business could offer under the circumstances. read more

We ordered the coffee ... which was freshly brewed and really good for diner coffee. I got the hot roasted turkey sandwich ( so freaking good) with a cup.of thier chicken noodle soup( also delicious). Very tasty breakfast on the way to Chelan! Got the chicken fried steak as well as the swedish pancakes. Delicious and came out pretty quick. We wanted a little more protein afterwards and were suggested to try the sausage patty. WOW. It's the size of a plate and homemade and crispy. We've gone twice. Once for dinner and today for breakfast. Food wise dinner gets one star. It was lacking to say the least. Mashed potatoes tasted like the kind from Kentucky Fried. The NY steak was just not what it was supposed to be. Our mistake for not getting something more simple. The customer service was okay though. This morning we had breakfast there and I'll give it 4 stars. Everything was good and service was on point once again. Pass- unless you've been lost in the woods for a decade and have no memory of basic breakfasts and how they should taste. The food is bland, poorly cooked and unremarkable, think Denny's / Shari's. But that earned the 2 stars. The wait staff were a zero. Both older middle eastern men, made remarks about my mother's appearance and our request for a certain open booth. We were ignored entirely until our food arrived. No offer of water, and never checked back in to see how everything was. The check showed up after 5 bites into our meal, again, without a word. We had discussed getting a desert to split, but opted to just move on. Again- definitely a pass. read more

My family and I just stayed at The Summit Hotel for a 4 day weekend and ate almost twice a day there. Everything was tasty, from the chicken teriyaki to the biscuits and gravy. We also had the buffalo chicken wings, the ham and cheese melt with steak fries, a Belgian Waffle, hamburger, and biscuits and gravy (that weren't even on the menu). Literally all of it was delicious. As a person from the Deep South and a partner from Cambodia, we were surprised they could make so many different varieties so well. I haven't read through the negative comments yet to see why they have a low star rating, but I kind of don't care. This place was great and I'm so glad we didn't have to cook every day. read more

On October 8th we had a mini family reunion (about 25 people) with the cousins from the east side and the west side of Washington. We met at the Summit Pancake House. It turn out to be a perfect spot to meet and we had the most wonderful time. Cindy was our server and I have to give her a shout out! She was extremely nice, gave us the best service and she did it all by herself. Everybody order different things. I had a Caesar salad with shrimp which I enjoyed. It wasn't the best place to dine but it also wasn't the worst. For the most part if you just got done on the slopes or at the trails / camping and u want breakfast it might be the only spot within 15-30ish miles (don't quote me on that).... so your options are limited if ore hella hungry just bite the bullet. Well not really, the food was actually decent. And the service was ultra fast attentive (actually the food came out almost suspiciously fast) but at the end of the day it was convenient and I didn't get food poisoning. read more

Great dinners, fabulous breakfasts, great staff, super friendly and with the amount of people who come here you gotta cut them a little slack. When I was in, two separate parties of 16 people each came in at the same time. If you ever worked in the restaurant world you'll know that 32 DINNERS coming in at the same time is a nightmare.
