You see, I am in Vegas from Milwaukee and wanted some sushi. I looked up "best sushi in Henderson" and Hiroba Sushi was on the list, and it is five minutes from my sister. I ordered take-out: edamame, shrimp tempura, soft-shell crab, chicken teriyaki skewers, and everyone LOVED the food. Greg was SO accommodating on this quaint restaurant's busy Friday night. He told us there was a wait, so we ran some other errands before we circled back. We got back a litttle too early and said, "no worries, we'll wait in the car and come back in shortly." Greg ended up rushing our order and bringing our food to the car. My sister said, "now THAT'S superb customer service." She will be back and so will I the next time I am in town. Their menu has expanded so much from what they used to offer. Lots of Ramen and rice bowls and cooked and heated items and tempura, etc. etc. but was not my favorite. Can't really recommend or not recommend. Go see for yourself. Price point was good, after all it is not a "premium" sushi place. Food rolled out inconsistent and too quickly for some items. Plates piled up at the table. Slower, paced out delivery of items and quicker pick up of empty plates would've been much appreciated.

Since the table service hasn't improved, I've gotta go with two stars. Hubby and I arrived around 1:00 PM on a Thursday and were seated immediately. Instead of reading the menu, Hubby asked if they offered a Vegetable Tempura and Shrimp Tempura. The waitress said they have both a dinner and an appetizer. We're so old now that we just can't eat much at any one sitting, so we ordered two Tempura appetizers which included two shrimp each, a large slice of eggplant, a sweet potato slice and an asparagus spear. I wish they'd served an onion rather than the eggplant. The inside of the eggplant was gray; it wasn't appealing -- and we do eat with our eyes first. I took a bite of the shrimp and didn't like it; I gave it to Hubby who ate it. (It had no flavor and, other than the tempura itself, no texture. It was mushy.) I later tried the other shrimp with the same result. I traded it for Hubby's sweet potato. The asparagus spear was scrawny and overcooked. I didn't care for the sauce; therefore, I wanted wasabi to mix with the soy sauce that was on the table. That never happened because no one ever came to check on us! Not once! The tempura was oily. I needed a second napkin and had to get up, go get it myself from a neighboring table because after a young man delivered our food, neither our waitress nor anyone else ever checked on us; not even once during the meal. Not once! No one asked us if we needed anything; no one visited our table for any reason, not once after the food was delivered. We finished eating and sat for a couple of minutes. No one came around with a check, so I went looking for our waitress in order to get the check. In summary: The food was disappointing. Specifically: the tempura was too oily; the eggplant was gross; the shrimp was flavorless and its texture was mush; and the asparagus spear was scrawny and overcooked. The service was worse because not once did anyone check on us! I had to go in search of both a second napkin and the check; and I went without wasabi. If you read my previous review, my issue then was the service. So, Lesson Learned. By me. Clearly, the wait staff ignore customer feedback about service. So this will be our last visit. Adios, Caio Caio and see ya never.

The melon cream soda brought back my fond childhood memories from when I lived in Japan. All of our food choices were flavorful. Their miso soup with onions was the best choice for something light before diving into our curry meals. The curry was extremely flavorful with the right consistency, and the chicken katsu and pork loin katsu were equally as delicious. The pork loin katsu was a bit more flavorful, and although it's a different cut it definitely reminded me of pork belly. We left fulfilled and full. If you want to support another local business, check out all of the different meal options at Shogun.

They took such good care of us! Even when it was time for us to bring out the surprise birthday cake they also gave us a complimentary birthday dessert! Provided us with extra plates & cutlery... We ended up having quite a bit of bday cake leftover so we gave them a few slices to the employees on our way out!

Went back to Sumo Henderson to try some of the other rolls and enjoyed every single one. The Shrimp Lover Roll was absolutely delicious. The shrimp was fresh and flavorful, and every bite had a great combination of textures. It was rich without being overwhelming and quickly became one of my favorite rolls of the night. The Golden California Roll was a great twist on a classic favorite. It had a perfect balance of creamy and crunchy textures, and everything tasted incredibly fresh. Simple, flavorful, and done right--it's a roll that never disappoints and one I'd happily order again. The Jackpot Roll definitely lived up to its name! Every bite was packed with flavor, and the ingredients worked together perfectly. The roll was fresh, well-made, and had a great balance of textures. Easily one of the highlights of the meal, and I'd gladly order it again. The lobster roll was absolutely delicious and packed with flavor. I had an amazing experience at Sumo Sushi in Henderson, and a huge part of that was our server, Nickel. From the moment we sat down, he was welcoming, attentive, and had such a positive attitude that made the whole meal even better. Nickel knew the menu really well, gave great recommendations, kept our drinks filled, checked on us at just the right times, and made sure everything came out perfectly. You can tell he genuinely cares about his guests and takes pride in what he does. Great food is one thing, but outstanding service is what keeps people coming back--and Nickel absolutely delivered. Came back to this sumo sushi again and somehow it was even better the second time. The food was still absolutely fantastic -- fresh, flavorful, and worth coming back for every time. The atmosphere is also really pretty and cozy, making it such a perfect place for a date night or just a nice relaxing dinner. What really made the experience special though was getting the same server again -- her name is Leah -- and she was just as amazing as last time. The sashimi , sushi, all melted in your mouth. So many different flavors with each plate. Not over powering sauces which most places do to hide the low quality of fish. Not here each piece was a culinary deliciousness of flavor. The rolls are not typical all rice little filling. The rice enhanced the filling. No need to use soy sauce! The ginger they supply was so fresh we had 4 servings of it. The restaurant is a 50s style diner, but it doesn't matter what the place looked like with this incredible food. We've NEVER had sushi like this. It's expensive, but you are paying for Japan quality sushi. With all the sushi spots and AYCE places I see why it was so slow. I asked if it gets busy, and was given a few jokingly sarcastic answers from I think owner, which was ok cause I joked back and he got it. If you want the experience of going to a master sushi chef restaurant in Japan, go to Tokyo Boys. You'll pay for a great experience. We hope when we come back to Henderson to return!

I do not want any server to be punished, because there is clearly something going on with training and/or staffing. But I've had the same bad experience at Sushi Mon on Maryland the last 3 times I've been in, and at this point I feel like I need to speak up. I've been going to Sushi Mon for years, and every single visit we get random food dropped off at our table that we didn't order. On the surface this doesn't seem like a big deal, because someone in the group can usually eat it. But it is actually a very big problem, because that food was meant for another table so now that party didn't get what they ordered; and this is the crux of my complaint. Normally I go with a group of 4-6 people, but these last 3 visits have only been two of us. I order the AYCE sushi and my husband orders off the non-sushi menu. I will place my 1st round of food when he orders his, and I usually get what I ordered. I will order my 2nd round when the 1st is dropped off. I NEVER get what I ordered on the 2nd round. They usually get one correct item, but the rest are random items (which I can't eat because I have food allergies, so I can't just eat a roll without knowing what in it). So, I have to flag the server down; tell them I didn't order it and repeat what I did order. Even after resubmitting my order more random items will appear. The food runners are like ninjas and drop plates off without stopping, so I can't say anything before they are gone. But today... visit number 3 in this trifecta of poor service. I ordered my first round at the same time as my husband's order. I ordered a cucumber salad, half an Achichi roll, and a Candy Crush Sashimi. I know exactly what time I ordered, because I sent my BFF a text immediately after we ordered. The salad came out super-fast, a few minutes later my husband's non-sushi meal came out and a few minutes after that my 1/2 Achichi roll came out. At that time, I ordered a 1/2 Pastel roll. And then we waited. And waited. Our server seemed to disappear. I eventually flagged down another server and told her I had ordered over half an hour ago and was still waiting. She went to check, when she came back, she unsurprisingly told me my food had been delivered to another table and they were making it now. I told her no, I didn't have time to wait, and I asked for the check. She brought the check and very politely told me she only charged me for lunch instead of dinner. At which point I told her I only ordered the dinner menu because I wanted the Candy Crush Sashimi that never came. We paid and I left hungry. I know, I shouldn't have paid $28.99 for cucumber salad and 1/2 a roll, but I was absolutely over it and just wanted to leave. Like I said, this isn't a one-off situation, it's been the last 3 visits. I told some friends who also frequent there, and they informed me they found a new sushi place, because of these same issues. I'm hoping the owners and managers of Sushi Mon see this and can learn from it, because they are losing customers. I truly believe it's a training issue, like maybe the staff doesn't know the table numbers, or perhaps the sushi chefs can't read the servers handwriting. Either way, I am sad to say this was my last visit there.
