Tons of both cooked and raw options including non-seafood. And you get one order/1-pc of some pretty expensive stuff most AYCE places don't give you like Uni and Sweet Shrimp. The service was a bit slow for AYCE even way outside a busty time but that could be me because I can throw down like Joey Chestnut at AYCE. Wish the Reno AYCE was like this place! read more

Ended up parking on their end to go to TJ's and saw the happy hour menu, sounded solid so we came a different day. Started w pork belly skewers, edamame, shumai, shrimp tempura and potstickers. Service was kind and efficient. No one was really in when we went, though a couple picked up food. We were debating rolls on special but ended up confused about the wording. For anyone like me- order 2 premium rolls and get a free roll listed on the sheet! That would've saved time. We started to run out of it for HH ending. Woman didn't care for how small the wording was. It was frustrating for her. I also did a pork belly and soft shell bao. I think the better way to go here is to do premium AYCE. The soft shell wasn't on special I'm just a fan so I ordered it. The foods good and fresh, I want to come back and have a different experience, service was attentive and kind. Came here yesterday afternoon with my mom and fiancé. We were able to be seated immediately. There were a few others there but was not too busy. The interior felt pretty spacious. To start off, they have a lot of different options in their menu and had some unique items that you wouldn't find in other places. A lot of items did have the P though which indicates for Premium option only; we just stuck with the lunch menu because we weren't too hungry to spend the additional 8 dollars since they did have quite a few options off of it. My mom doesn't really eat sushi so she sticks with the appetizers and meats for the most part. She did enjoy their shrimp and vegetable tempura a lot. The pork belly skewer was also cooked very well. Hamburger steak was also decent but not sure if I would get it again. The appetizer "Angry Bulgogi potato bomb" was a bit misleading but I guess we didn't know what to expect of it - it was just bulgogi fries. I did try the miso mushroom soup, but the mushrooms inside was hard and just seemed like raw mushrooms thrown in hot miso soup. For the nigiri, we got our general go-tos, salmon and yellowtail. They were both just okay but it did not seem that fresh. They also do put a bit more rice compared to other sushi places. Rolls were just okay, nothing really stood out to us that much. We did notice the chicken katsu roll which we tried, I would pass on it. It's just a chicken katsu and crab inside rice and topped with katsu sauce. Dessert is one per person. We got the basic mochi ice cream and ended up trying a deep fried cheesecake. It was okay but I think deep fried ice cream is better (but that was only in the premium option.) Overall experience is decent. Not sure if I would go again, but maybe I would just to try to see if the premium was any worth. read more

We stopped into Spicy Tuna for dinner on a Thursday evening. We were greeted right away by the hostess and taken to a table. All of the servers help all of the tables so you're never left without anything. We ordered a kids meal with chicken katsu and French fries, a crunch roll, and bento box combos. I had a bento box with teriyaki steak, tempura calamari, and shrimp tempura. The crunch roll was fresh and the tempura flakes were tasty. The bento box was a huge portion. The teriyaki sauce was a bit too salty for my taste. The tempura calamari was delicious. The shrimp tempura was just okay. The kids meal was a good sized portion. We were checked on constantly by the servers and never had to ask for anything. Spicy Tuna was good but there's so many sushi spots in town that I felt are much better. read more

I was passing by and wanted to check this place out. Super cute. It was not packed at all, we got seated right away. The server was super nice. And the service was super fast. The food was so good && fresh. I love that they have specials for people that do not do all you can eat. They didn't have a lot of options for sushi rolls without rice. So that was a bummer. Sushi is one of my favorite foods, alongside... well. Everything else, if you've been keeping track of my reviews. As such, while I tend to go to my usual spots, I'm also willing to check out and try new places as well. And when I found out that one of my favorite sushi spots near me closed (Sushiwa, if you're wondering), it didn't take long for me to find another one close by! Spicy Tuna is located in the shopping complex on Eastern and Coronado Center, next to Trader Joe's -- in all honesty, I was curious about this place since Trader Joe's is one of my usual grocery stores, but I never really had the opportunity to check this place out until a few days ago. And for the longest time, they were also focusing largely on sushi a la carte, so I didn't really have a reason to check it out until now. All I can say is, I'm shocked that I haven't come in sooner. The AYCE menu for Spicy Tuna is a fairly recent development, as this place used to just focus on A La Carte dishes. I'm glad that they decided to add the option to the menu, though; their AYCE menu has sushi and various types of rolls, but it also has items that I don't see on other menus, such as mushroom and clam miso soup, Hamburg steak, hibachi chicken and beef, bao buns, soft-shell crab dishes of all types, and even snow crab legs! Of course, they still have their A La Carte menu if you're not that hungry, but if you can swing it, go for the AYCE special. With fresh fish, sushi and sashimi you can't find anywhere else, and even appetizers and izakaya-style dishes that you won't find in the usual sushi restaurants, Spicy Tuna really has it all. The restaurant itself is really pretty, too, with festival-style booths and a mix of both painted and manga-styled art around the dining area. Needless to say, I am a convert -- part of me is kind of glad now that Sushiwa closed, because I would not have found out about this place otherwise. I can't wait to return and tackle the rest of the menu! read more

Stopped into Spicy Tuna tonight for Valentines Day dinner. Full disclosure, we only came because Sushiwa is apparently no longer in business. So we did a pivot and went here after finding their doors locked. Spicy Tuna was busy so we sat at the bar area so we wouldn't have to wait. There was a lot of staff working and we ordered with a waitress even though we were sitting at the sushi bar. Somewhat unconventional, but that's how they do it. First order was a bowl of edamame, it arrived rather quickly, and it was very overdone and mushy. Not a great start to the meal, but whatever, I didn't come for edamame, I came for sushi. We ordered a lot of rolls and also some tuna, salmon and yellowtail sushi. The sushi was good, the rolls were also good, but nothing knocked my socks off here. We've been to Kaizen, we've been to Hiroba, we've been to I love sushi, and we've always chosen SushiWa as our go to spot. While the food here was good, the staff wasn't exceptional and there were actually some missed orders that never came (rainbow roll, Ashley roll). We ordered desert and waited about 20 minutes and it never came. Then they brought the check and we told them "we never got our desert order." They seemed shocked by this. Then we waited probably another 15 minutes before it finally came out. So that aspect wasn't great. Overall, it's a good sushi place, they do all you can eat and the flavors are pretty good. Like I said, it wasn't great, and I think there is better in the area to be honest. They have great instagram posts, and I had high hopes, but for me, it missed the mark. read more

Alrightttt here we goooo One of my favorite sushi spots. The tastiest rolls. Yummy sauces. I struggled to remember my previously favorite ordered items and the server was so kind as we tried to figure it out. Thought this place was brand new, nope! I saw it from the parking lot and made my husband take us for dinner that night. We were sat right away and the fish was good, very fresh! My only complaint was their garlic ponzu was SPICY, and now that I'm reading the restaurant name "spicy tuna", makes since why my garlic tuna nigiri was spicyyyyy, lol! They had a decent drink menu, which my husband and I love occasionally at sushi a soju or sake cocktail. Overall good place and we'd come back! read more

I was really looking forward to trying this sushi spot, but unfortunately my experience wasn't great. The food didn't taste as fresh as I expected, and shortly after eating there I became very sick. I'm almost positive it was the sushi. It did taste super fishy which I have never had that issue anywhere else I've gotten sushi but I didn't really think about it until I got sick that, that meant it wasn't fresh :/ The staff were polite, but the overall quality and safety of the meal missed the mark for me. I hope the restaurant takes a closer look at their food handling and freshness, because this could have been a much better visit. read more

Spicy Tuna is right next door to Trader Joe's. Since we are shopping it was great to grab a few rolls and a drink! First time for us here and it's an AYCE sushi for $35 per person. Also, any sake, beer, wine, or spirit is buy 1 get 1 free how cool is that! It's a pretty big place and pretty clean with a subtle Japanese decor vibe. Loved the service we got, and I can only imagine the pace this restaurant must operate at during the week at lunch time. For the food, the salmon skin salad was great! The gyoza was decent and the baked green mussels were as well. The kiss of fire roll was just that, a very spicy roll and my body will pay me back for that one. The Japanese Lasagna was pretty good as its crab, avocado, cream cheese, mayo and eel sauce. We finished with some miso clam soup which was truly delicious. Only negative was that the sushi bar seats were not available to customers when we visited. Great price point to do damage to your waistline and not your wallet. read more

It wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. We waited for a few minutes at the door before being greeted and seated. The food was not as fresh, and the appetizers looked like they were cooked in a microwave. We ordered quite a bit of Nigiri and they were not as fresh as anticipated. The shumai was the type that you get at Trader Joe's and the spring rolls were sad. I ordered shrimp tempura which I never got. They gave me the sauce first and as I ate the rest of our meal, we never got the tempura to accompany the sauce. So strange! Even the mussels looked bland. We were hoping to find a great sushi spot closer to home, but lesson learned. Drive to the spot we always go to, and don't bother trying a new spot because this definitely didn't live up to our expectations. read more

Some of the worst side dishes I've had at a ayce sushi restaurant. All of the beef items were inedible. Some combination of tough, chewy, and cold. I ended up spitting out the few pieces I initially tried to eat. They all tasted like left over pieces that should have hit the trash instead of a plate. The shrimp cocktail was tough. The baked mussels just had unseasoned mayo baked on it. The salmon belly that came with the dinner not only had a off taste but was mostly fat of the salmon. Some of the regular nigiri I ordered was okay but the low quality of all the accompanying side dishes made the rest of the meal unpleasant. This was a reminder to stick to my regular rotation of sushi instead of trying a different restaurant out of curiosity. read more

This All You Can Eat sushi restaurant is solid. They have been consistent in quality and service. There is a regular menu if you do not want all you can eat. There is plenty of seating inside and I like the booths they have with actual walls on both sides of the restaurant. The booths can easily seat 4 adults and there are regular tables off to side of the entrance for larger groups. The center of the restaurant is the bar and sushi chef side seating area where you can watch them make sushi. I enjoy the booths because it has neat Japanese 80's decor and Special menus on display. They have a good selection of Japanese gin, whisky, and beers. Sometimes they have a seasonal Special Menu that can feature oysters, unique fish in season and appetizers like tempura fried mussels. My go to is the nigiri section of the menu which includes, spicy garlic tuna, salmon, albacore, octopus, mackerel, Yellowfin tuna, scallops.", super white, and tuna belly. There's more, but these are some of my favorites. There's char siu pork belly is moist, savory and a hint of sweet. Perfect with rice. The cheesy gyoza is a fan favorite. Served in a sizzling bowl. The miso soup is a perfect balance of clean, earthy taste with bits of tofu and seaweed if you need something lighter. The rolls are a shareable size, so it's better to get different types if you are in a group so that you can try more selections and not waste something. The baked rolls are filling so keep that in mind if you order multiple kinds. There's cold and hot tapas so you be sure to find something if you didn't want straight sushi. The bulgogi fries, crab salad, cucumber salad, fried asparagus, shrimp shu mai, are some of the other options I've tried and really like. Service is consistently good and friendly. The table is always cleared of empty plates and drinks are always filled. The servers are knowledgeable in making recommendations if you can't make up your mind or are not sure what to try. Overall, I always go back to this place because of the quality, value and service. Definitely would recommend. read more

Have been curious about this sushi spot since I frequent Trader Joe's and Seafood City which are both in the same plaza. So, I decided to finally check and try it out for myself. They got a lot of seating at the bar and quite a few tables for party's of 2+. It is spacious inside which I like as well. They offer both Al a Carte and All-You-Can-Eat. I opted for AYCE dinner to get a bigger bang for my buck. Also did the buy one get one free beer. Spicy Tuna offers a wide range of appetizers, nigiris, and rolls. Ordered the takoyaki and just like a picture I saw hanging on the wall, it was indeed one of the best takoyaki I've had in Vegas. Baked Green Mussels were alright. It was lacking flavor even with the cheese/mayo on top. Majority of the limited items were great such as Toro, Salmon Belly, Yellowtail Belly, and Uni. I'd pass on the Kobe Beef nigiri. I didn't think it was worth trying. I thought quality of fish weren't too bad considering it's AYCE. I actually liked their Salmon Nigiri more than other locations to be frank. As far as dessert, Tokyo Parfait wasn't exactly what I had imagined. It was just green tea and vanilla ice cream with a wafer stick, some cookie crumbles, and a cherry on top. I thought it was gonna come out as a yogurt type of thing lol. Service was friendly and food came out fast. read more

Spicy Tuna used to be our regular takeout sushi spot but it recently changed to an AYCE restaurant. It's been around for a long time but never as AYCE. I was surprised when I went to pickup our order recently to see the change in the menu. I asked if the ownership had changed but the server said no. I was a bit skeptical and the interior looked different too. I will say that the vibe of the restaurant definitely seemed better as they had some fun music playing and it was more lively. I never really enjoyed the ambiance so we usually chose to order take out. That being said, I felt like the quality of the food seemed to be a trade off of the better ambiance. I did not enjoy the sushi rice as it was way too sticky and not enjoyable. I felt that it made it difficult to enjoy the food as much as I used to. I might need to give it another try as I do enjoy their rolls more than most other places. read more

Besides not offering their AYCE menu for some reason (the whole reason you go to an AYCE sushi spot) they also use the most insanely powerful scented cleaner, and you never really stop smelling it. It's bad enough that you taste it when you are eating. The items we ordered were good, and the service was solid, so it's a shame that the AYCE issue and over-powering cleaner scent ruined what could have been a lovely experience. read more

First time coming here and Somi was our server. She was absolutely awesome and super patient with us and our indecisiveness. The nigiris were great, the fish were really fresh.
