Came to sun auto service distraught, I had attempted to to do an oil change at Walmart (biggest mistake ever) they tried to change my oil by extracting it with a Hose. 1 hour later they come to me with the dip stick saying something was stuck inside and could not only do the oil change but I couldn't put the dipstick back in!!! Told me to find a shop so they can fix it.. Not even 1 mile later I had my car shaking engine light came on. Very scary! All the guys at sun auto were so amazing helped me extract the hose Walmart broke inside my car. They changed my oil. Patrick was so nice and so helpful about the whole situation! I'm going to preface by saying they correctly diagnosed my Range Rover issue and I sold the vehicle a few weeks later and thanks for that. Saying that, I came in to replace my battery for my 2010 Honda Accord EX. Come to find out, my alternator was bad - well apparently. I called my mechanic in the Bay Area and he said to get a second opinion since the check engine light or battery light would typically come on. So I did and everything checked out as normal and no issues with the $650 alternator. My issue is my battery warranty is void since I didn't change the alternator?!?! When I didn't even come in to change or check the alternator?!?! I even had to sign off on the battery warranty being void? Crazy. Brought my 2016 VW Jetta in for the first time. Showed coupon which stated premium full synthetic oil change for $45.95, which included filter, oil, lube, fluid checks, tire rotation. (0il up to 5quarts). Upon picking up bill of 63.92. So the extra .7 quarts cost 5.74 along with shop costs of 2.58 and disposal fees of 5.17? Let's not rip customers off, be honest. Absolutely horrid. I came in solely for oil changes and they managed to screw that simple task up. I'm now left with a $400 dollar repair job for my brakes and brake fluid on my driveway a few hours after the oil change due to their incompetence. How did that happen? I have no clue. And the "inspection reports" that they attach to their oil changes? All the "repairs" they attach their "inspection reports" are absolute rubbish. I will not bring my vehicle back to Sun Auto Service! I called and asked if they had a experienced mechanic with electrical systems which they stated they did. I brought my 07 Nissan Quest to be diagnosed which has a P0462 code. I've had it diagnosed before at a different mechanic and was told it was from excessive voltage through the harness. I wanted to get a second opinion that's why I brought it. After they started there hour diagnostic they called and said they needed more time ( More money ) to look at the ecm which I agreed. When they finished they called and said it was probably the ipdm which is basically a fuse box I asked how much and they said the part was 420 which was accurate then he said it needed to be reprogrammed which would be 250 and labor another 100 plus. Here's were I have a problem! The ipdm doesn't need reprogramming the guy gave me some BS answer why it did but it doesn't. If I didn't know anything about cars they probably would have tried to take me for the extra 250. Secondly the ipdm takes five mins to unplug and replace. So I decided I don't trust them and told Them i was going to pick my van up have it ready. I paid them there 290. For diagnostic which should have only took a hour and took my van home. The next day I'm driving to work and it starts pouring down rain so I try and put my windshield wipers on and they don't work which could have caused me to have an accident! When I got home I look to see what they did when they check the ecm well to get to the ecm you have to remove the cowl which is basically a plastic cover first I went to remove it to get to the windshield wiper motor and noticed half of my retainer clips were broken so it wasn't hard to remove. Then I found they didn't plug my windshield wiper motor back in when they put the cowl back on pure negligence! So they over charge for diagnostic try to charge for stuff not needed didn't diagnose correctly. Basically just throw parts at it!!! Break retainer clips without replacing and possibly could have caused me to have an accident because they didn't plug my windshield wiper motor back in. I think you guys should stick to just changing oil!!! Please try and respond with a fact that didn't occur with my experience!!! So A A from sun auto service I see your quick to defend your business but don't want to take any responsibility for the damage to my vehicle or the negligence of not returning my vehicle to the way it was brought in! Let me clarify your service advisor was told by a parts guy at the dealer not a service advisor or a mechanic and then proceeded to give me a BS answer to why it would need to be reprogrammed. And your service advisor did not tell me that you wouldn't know if it needed reprogrammed till afterwards. That is a lie! Your company still we're just guessing if that was my vehicles problem because I replaced it and that didn't fix my problem. I would have wasted my money on something not needed obviously your tech is not qualified! And does piss poor work breaking retainer clips and not plugging back in my windshield wiper motor which could have cause me to have a accident I couldn't see out of my window going to work through a rain storm! All I need was a door handle changed on my SUV. These guys told me it would $430. I ordered the part online and fixed it myself for $26 and 30 minutes of work. Went back for a third time, but this time I had brand new wheels and tires- and of course they chipped my wheel in multiple places that wasn't even a week old. I had to bring my Jeep in about a year ago for a clutch replacement. $1700 later, and I had a somewhat functioning clutch. I noticed immediately that it seemed a bit noisy and wasn't shifting as well (important to note that I had dropped it off with 2 quarts of Redline MTL that they said would be no problem for them to refill with once the transmission was all buttoned up). I took it back, and they assured me that everything was fine. Later that week, I got another 2 quarts of Redline to do a drain/fill. I drained the trans and got almost 3 quarts of frothy fluid out! Now, obviously, they didn't magically whip up another quart of fluid over what I gave them, so the tech either added some mystery oil above what I gave them, or they didn't use my redline at all, AND overfilled the trans. My next problem became apparent about a year later when I was doing another drain/fill. While under the Jeep, I noticed that the tech hadn't replaced ANY of the clips or brackets holding on wiring and hoses to the trans and transfer case (essentially, anything that had needed to be released to drop the trans). Needless to say, I am not going to be bringing any of my vehicles back here. EDIT: Regarding the reply from Sun, and not being able to locate my records, it's on Invoice #26398, dated 12/07/2019, for a total of $1760.42. In my opinion, for that amount, they should be making sure that the job is done correctly. Also, after attempting to get resolution from the management, a district manager did contact me, but after I requested some follow-up, I did not receive a response as I was told that I would. read more

This shop is awesome! I went in yesterday afternoon to have someone check the brake assembly on a specific wheel. I recently had a brake job (at another place) but was still hearing metal on metal, even when not braking. The culprit? A bent dust plate. They bent it back into position so it would no longer scrape the rotor. The very kind gentleman refused to charge me for this service. Imagine, an auto shop with heart!! The waiting area is very clean. TV, coffee and water available. Did I mention I waited a total of just 20 minutes? I feel like I found a well-kept secret. I'm sold. You'll be getting our business!! I went here after reading the reviews on December 8th and still don't have my car fixed. My car never had issues and then one day while I was at a stop light it wouldn't go. I pushed all the way down on the gas, it went 20mph, and then finally kicked into gear. This is the reason why I brought it in the first time. They said it was my air flow sensor and so they changed it. I went to pick up my car and the next day it had the same issue. I took it back for the second time and they said it was a communication error that they fixed. Picked up my car, took it home, and the next morning it would not start. I had my car towed there for the third time for them to work On it. They said it was my battery and replaced that. Then a few days later my car started having the original issue it was having where it wouldn't kick into gear. I took it back for a fourth time and they changed the computer for the transmission. I picked it up and that same day it broke down on Las Vegas blvd. I called them and they sent a tow to get it. They have had my car for the fifth time since Friday night and are still not sure what is wrong with it. I am having it towed to Nissan dealership so they can hopefully figure it out. They did refund me for the second the second repair they did but not the first. I have paid over $900 for a car that is not working and now have to take it somewhere else. This has been going on for 18 days. There is no way I could ever recommend this place to anyone. Update- Once my car got to the dealership they found my transmission and radiator fluid was mixed and I need both a new transmission and radiator. It also came up with other codes than what sun auto said I had. Sun Auto told me for a couple of days they were having their transmission guy looking at my car but if a transmission person did look at it they would have clearly seen the two fluids mixed up and would have know the problem. Also I found out this is a common issue with pathfinders. While I appreciate they refunded me for the second repair I think they should have also done something about the first repair to make that right. The installed a mass flow sensor and battery. Neither of these needed to be replaced to fix the true issue my car was having. That was about $900 spent that I could have used towards the new transmission and radiator I now have to get. We even told them we would pay for the labor if they took back the mass flow sensor but they would not agree to that. They also would not pay $65 it cost for me to have my car towed to the dealership. I felt this was the least they could do seeing as how it was the 5th time in 18 days I had to return my car there to be looked at and they still were not able to diagnose the issue. I would never bring my vehicle back there or refer anyone to this place. read more

I also asked if they could check my tires, as I had been to Tire Works for a low tire light 2 days before, and they told me I needed 4 new tires. I dropped my car off. Sun Auto did General maintenance and repair. I'm 71 years old and a female and I just can't do it anymore. JD greeted me, took my info and invited me to set down and took the keys. Less than 1/2 hour later my car was done with no charge. JD has excellent customer service and Cody did a great job on my car. The establishment is very clean and they even have a candel burning. I took both of our cars here for an oil change. I had been here before and everything was great until this last time. The service advisor was absolutely horrible. He didn't seem to care about what I had to say. No customer service skills whatsoever. His attitude got worse after I declined to have the brakes done on one of our cars (which I declined because of his horrible attitude before they worked in the car). I went to Sun Auto Service to get my spark plugs replaced. I was told that what's causing the misfires are the oil separator and the coils. Both costs around $300 to fix then I was also asked that a 3 step fuel system kit is also required on top of all the spark plugs replacement all came out to $1282. So I got it done and paid for. A day later the IM checks still hasn't cleared even though I've already driven it for 80+ miles. So I came back the next day because it failed my smog check. And they told me that it's gonna take around 100 miles before the system completely resets. So I drove it till I reached a little over 200 miles. And still the system checks still hasn't reset. So I can back to the shop and asked for it to be looked at again. And they said that it just needs to be driven more for it to reset. So I drove it for over 300+ miles and that's when the same misfire codes popped up again. I took it back and they told me that the problem is that the fuel pump which will now cost $1400+ Is what's causing the misfires. I told them that they misdiagnosed the first time and asked them to fix the current problem and I'll pay for the difference. Which is around $200. They refused and not only are they very rude about it and very dismissive and claimed that the car was already fixed the first time. They won't give me a refund or even give any discount for the new "fix".This is bullshit and this is the worst service I ever experienced. They are very unprofessional & I will not recommend this place to anybody. If I could give negative stars this place definitely deserves that. Don't go to this place . Not only will they waste your time but also your money. Their managers Mike and JD not only is very dismissive but they will not work with you if ever you come back with the same problem with you car that should've been fixed the first time. I came back to this place 4 times to have the issue resolve in a calmly manner. And when I finally confronted them and demanded that this needs to be fixed and something needs to be done about it and that they should cover the repair. They told me it can't be done & now quoted me with a $1400 price tag which is just unreasonable considering it's the same issue with the misfire that I took that car for in the first place. Anybody will be furious if this happen to them. They will give you some BS diagnosis with your car and throw a part in there that actually doesn't fix the problem in the first place. And when you take it back for the same problem they will give you again another diagnostics and claim that it's a totally different part now what's causing the problem.
