I have a 2008 Saturn Astra with 90,000 miles and paid off. I have kept it in good condition so it will last. Sadly, many Saturn parts are no longer available, and that is a problem. Thank goodness for the honest and professional service at Sun Auto. I was having an oil change and diagnostic check done for approximately $240.00. After 2-1/2 hours, the manager told me the problem was the throttle/pedal, which was no longer available. So I will drive the car as long as I can before I need to make some purchase decisions. But the best part of this is the manager did not charge me for the $210 diagnostic check because he couldn't fix my problem. He only charged for the oil change. I went to Sun Auto about a month ago for an oil change and brake inspection. When I made my appointment, I asked to have my brakes inspected, and when I dropped it off I told the guy at the counter to make sure they checked my brakes because they were squeaking. I picked up my vehicle and paid for the oil change and asked if I needed new brakes and the guy said nope the brakes are good. A month later my brakes are making a grinding sound so took it to the dealership and needed back brakes badly. I have also found Sun Auto prices to he higher than the dealer on oil changes and when I had my transmission oil changed. I won't be going back. read more

Came in for transmission fluid replacement and they told me I needed to change all my brake pads plus the rotors in the rear needed to be replaced. They quoted me 525 just for the brakes. I went to another repair shop and they said all my rotors were fine and even showed me. I think they were trying to play me cause I'm a girl who knows nothing about cars. Thankfully, my dad told me to leave and gave me a normal ballpark on the cost of brakes. Ladies, if you go into any auto shop, ask someone who's well versed in car maintenance or take an auto repair course cause these men will play you. Update: they said I should be expecting a call immediately in their response but I haven't sooooo that response is just for show. read more

When I go for an oil change, they don't come and tell me I need all kinds of other needless work done. On two occasions they have helped me with small problems at no charge. Who does that these days? Today I knocked my review mirror off and it was dangling by wires. They were very busy, but took my car in and in 15 minutes it was all put back together, and believe me it looked complicated. Initially I was looking for the closest auto shop with decent reviews but wow did I hit the jackpot here. After having my car towed here, I was expecting to walk out a couple hundred dollars lighter. I have taken my car in twice for starting issues. The first time it was only in need of a battery, the second time, what I thought was an issue with the starter turned out to be just a disconnected starter. They assessed the situation and promptly called me back. They reconnected it and told me..no charge! Point is both times they could have fleeced me like other places and didn't. I had recently gone to a chain type auto place for a "cheap" oil change - I'm pretty sure that's where the starter got disconnected. No more oil changes or anything anywhere else for my cars. The most incredible experience I have ever had with an auto service business. Brought in HD headlamps for my 2018 Dodge Journey Crossroad. I pulled up to the store at 7:05am....they had them installed by 7:17am. They look bright and work perfectly. Went to see Mike the store manager to settle up. "For that, no charge." I was stunned (in a good way). Will be coming back for any/all my service needs from here on out. Sun Auto....you should be proud of your store manager at St. Rose Parkway, Mr. Mike Williams. By the way, did I mention that Mike saved me some money by telling me that I didn't need to purchase new high-end plugs for my car as the plugs that were standard for the Crossroad were top-of-the-line. Misleading when I had full brake job in this shop that it has lifetime warranty. They did not mention to me that only the brake pads that it only cover. Also they have not fixed oil leaked on this car and get tired taking to this shop. Also my Honda of hard starting they said I need a valve job. But all it need is a can of fuel injectors cleaner. arrived to this location about 5mins early, waiting outside i was talking to another customer about what they're getting fixed ... as we're talking i hear the door unlock however no one opened it for us or greeted us. not thinking of it we were standing outside for a good extra 10 minutes to find out the door was open and Randy was just sitting at his desk. I walk in, Randy slouched in his chair no eye contact no smile, "whatcha here for" while staring at his computer. at that moment i was already having second thoughts on this location, he proceeds to take my info informing me of the diagnostic fee which i am okay with and he says it will take all day. asking a few simple questions all i get back is rude remarks and answers. for example, "does that fee cover any work." ... "nope doesn't cover anything." i was not happy with his attitude so i decided to just leave and go to the location closer to my house (Stephanie/Paseo Verde) where jesse greets me with a smile and what can i do for you. So Randy if you're not happy sitting at a desk all day doing paperwork, simply quit. you're wearing out your company's customer service rep! and that's from 5 minutes of being in the door, who know what other problems may have came up at a later time. read more

While I typically like to go to the dealership to get my car maintenance done with certified, correct products and by mechanics who work on the same car over and over ensuring they are familiar with it, I do not like the waiting times. I would find myself waiting hours, even with an appointment, to get basic maintenance done. I came across Sun Auto Service while trying to find a quick and inexpensive oil change for a family member's car. It was a lot cheaper than a quick lube place and the whole experience was great. I brought my personal (and very much loved) car here for work next since I had such an awesome experience the first time. Had some issues with my appointment which was mostly my fault and my work may have taken longer than what it needed to be because of that, but I can guarantee it was faster than the dealer would've done. The waiting room is also very nice and you can't even tell you're in an auto shop. Only true downsides I had from this experience was they didn't reset my oil percentage and left my old oil service date sticker on. I know how to reset the oil percentage on my own as it takes 5 seconds, but for someone who doesn't they would've gotten a dash light up eventually telling them their oil is low because the light wasn't reset, even though the oil itself was recently changed. Can cause a lot of confusion and extra money out of pockets for customers because of a small mistake. The sticker I could care less about, but don't see the point of them leaving two date stickers up. Could have just stuck the old one in the cup holder for me to decide what to do with it or toss it like most places do and replace it with the new one. For potential customers and Yelp reviewers: keep in mind this is a business and businesses need money to stay open. They may try to push some extra work or point out components that need replacing, but that doesn't mean they're just trying to milk you for money. Something like a fuel system service is not necessarily required, however it CAN be beneficial to some platforms and does not hurt to keep the car in tip top shape. Dealerships will do the same thing. Before getting offended about what they say needs replacing or maintenance, do some quick research on your vehicle and see what others are doing, what is required and what is not really needed. Read the owners manual and get to know your car and the products it uses. From there you can decide if you want to do the extra work they mention or wait on it. It doesn't hurt to throw a little extra money on your car here and there to make sure it's running properly and to it's full extent. Sun Auto Service, please keep up the honest work and the prices low. We all need an auto shop we can trust and depend on! Review your mechanics and make sure everyone is doing what they're supposed to and are continuously getting educated on all these new cars, procedures and products. As long as the honesty and hard work is there, I will now bring my vehicles here and give my business to you. read more

Took my truck in for a emissions canister part issue which is a $40 part at Auto Zone. This place told me I needed over $2500 worth of repairs plus brakes and rotors. Explained I cannot afford all this unnecessary work. Had them address the emissions canister issue. They call to tell me my truck is ready. When I arrive within 2 hours of the call my truck won't start. That was never the issue considering my truck started perfectly fine before it arrived at this place!! Do NOT trust this place!! I had to pick a 1 star because there is no- 0-. I recently gave them a five star, But after washing my engine i see they did not change my oil filter with the supposed oil change. I had previously marked it, they apparently wiped it clean as it looked like new. But with closer inspection the small scratches are still there. So they will no longer see my two vehicles. I've been here three times now, and these guys are honest, transparent and have gone above and beyond EVERY time. I tend to get taken advantage of with many mechanics, but when there is an issue, they have always encouraged me to come look at a part and explain what options they have to fix, how they will repair, how long it will take etc. they have always been on time. Today I had some strange flapping/knocking sound while driving or coasting above 65-70mph. My splashguard flap was dislodged in a few places and was shown to flap at high speeds. They simply fixed in 5 mins and sent on my way at no charge!!! NO CHARGE! These guys truly care about getting you back on the road and doing the right thing by the customer. I'm their customer for almost two years - 3027 St Rose Pkwy, Henderson -(regular oil change & car maintenance service), the staff is ALWAYS so friendly, & their prices are pretty fair if not cheaper than the market actually (when I first dealt with them I used to shop around for the best price, before I decided to just call them directly if anything came up & set an appointment!) I never had a problem. But what really made a huge impression, was when one of my friends who live in SF bought a car from here LV, he had an emergency & couldn't come to pickup his car so I offered to drive it to him to SF. The car had a break malfunction light, some noise, plus for sure I wanted to check if it is ready for a 500 miles trip (oil, transmission oil, tires & its pressure ...etc), I called and set an appointment, and this is what happened: - They checked all the oils & liquids in the car! - They checked the tires & tire pressure! - They checked the break levels! - They did the diagnostics for the breaks light & he told me it is not an urgent thing it can safely wait till I deliver it to my friend in SF! (I'm their customer they knew it is not my car, I just told them what is going on) - They checked the source of the noise & told me it is also safe to wait till it got delivered to my friend in SF. Notice that for the last two he could easy tell me it is important to fix those & just charge me whatever he wants, & I would never know! but they ARE HONEST! The surprise was after he finished, & when I gave him my CC to charge me, he told me I'm their customer & he didn't do anything really & he will not charge me anything!!!! (it took them at least 20 min to check my car!!) I insisted to charge me at least the labor & his time, he insisted NO, because I'm their customer & this the least they can do!!! I swear I didn't know what to say!!! (I wish I know his name, despite they all are the same in the way they treat their customers) When I told my wife back home she didn't believe there is still good people like this anymore, neither did my friend who didn't believe what happened too! Just like the person at the counter, who only read the first line of my email you are not seeing the full picture and only hearing one side of the story. Since you weren't there and didn't even bother to call me to hear my side before you responded to the review, let me tell you what happened. I originally made an appointment for 9/20/18, an email came back and said that the day was full and that the next available date and time was 9/22/18 at 3pm, which I accepted. I showed up on Saturday, 9/22/18 at 2:55pm as confirmed and was told there was no appt for me in the system . I showed him my phone, which he read only the first line, didn't bother to read on. If he read further, the email stated the next available was at 9/22/18 at 3pm. So for you to state that I showed up at the original date and time is a lie and also proves that the manager didn't read the email, which I have as proof. He never even bothered to apologize or offer another date. I had to ask for another appt. Please do your due diligence and get your facts straight before you respond, so that you're not one sided. I do have the email that clearly states the original time and the confirmed appt time, if you are so inclined. read more
