We purchased an older car and when I called around to get a price to get a smog check I was told they were not comfortable doing a smog check because it was a 1977 jeep. So the previous owner told us he goes to Sun Smog so I drove by and asked them if they would smog the jeep and he said yes and he gave me his card and told me to call ahead when I was ready to come in. So a few days later I called and asked if I can come in and he said yes, so we went over there and got the jeep smog tested. He was really nice he even offered us a water. Sine it was an older vehicle it took about 30 minutes for all the test. He even made a few recommendations. This place doesn't look all fancy but the service was great. I called ahead to see if they would be open/available for me to come in for a smog the following day at 1pm and they let me know they would be available. I arrived at 1pm the next day and was greeted right away and had my car pulled in. They offered me seating while I waited. So I came to Yelp and found this extremely highly rated hole in the wall right around the corner from where I work. So I drove by on my lunch break and he took me in and ran my car right away. This is a one car garage run by a hospitable guy with very fair prices. I spent $45 and 15 minutes to get my smog checked. The technician, who I believe also owns the place, is very friendly. As soon as I rolled up, I was offered a seat and water beside some hand sanitizer, which he welcomed me to use after signing the paperwork. After visiting 4 other establishments only to be told my car wasn't serviceable since it's from 1994, and calling a few more places, I finally found Sun Smog! The man who works here is kind, respectful and fast which was a plus. He provided me with a bottle of water, and then informed me that it is part of the service that he also checks the pressure of my tires! The service costs ~$65 which was more than I've normally paid in the past, but not by much! I'd highly recommend this place 1) if you have a car from the 90's because most SMOG stations won't serve you now(you need a 2000 or newer car) and 2) if you want the service to get done right then and there. My experience at this business was amazing!!! I drove into his business -- without an appointment -- and gave him my paper from the DMV indicating I needed a smog test from a STAR certified station. Very friendly and helpful. The price is very reasonable because I have gone to other shops and they want to charge Over $80 for a smog test. The owner gave some tips about my car maintenance and as my smog check failed, he referred me to some resources to get help to fix my car And told me that he will redo my test for free when the issues are fixed even if it takes more than the 30 days policy. Second time coming to this Sun Smog Test Only place. I came back because of my first experience, which was very fast as I was the only customer at that time, surprisingly. Customer service was amazing. Greeted right away with a welcoming smile, offered a bottle of water, and as I took a seat in his small waiting area, he turned a powerful fan on facing me which made the summer heat bearable. After completing the test, he checked tire pressure, blew out dust and leaves from the engine bay, and even checked on a tire sensor and researched and made recommendations on other things. Honest and friendly service. Coming back the second time there was another car he was finishing up and more rolled in behind me. He seems busier now, but still very fast and providing the best customer service just like the first time. It isn't the prettiest little shop but his service makes it the best.
