I had an awful experience. I went to get my car aligned and when I got it back nothing is changed my car still pulls to the right they offered a complimentary car wash which I did not receive. The dealership has NO concept of safe practices during COVID. NO service or sales staff had masks on. There were 'safe distance' gridlines and Plexiglas in the service area but it was ignored. Service staff came several times within a foot of me which was surprising as I was wearing a mask and was obviously trying to keep a safe distance. The same pen was used to sign by the service member and me and keys were handed to me without being wiped off. The service part department did have safe practices in place and I was able to make a transaction with them safety. Sale and service members need to take better care of their customers! This company should be out of business! I went in with my own financing in October, 2017 - they messed up and did not submit the paperwork to the bank. Then went back in January after having to reapply for the same car loan - waited forever and all they did was have me re-sign the SAME paperwork with the original dates. They submitted the paperwork to the bank and although the loan was not originated until 1/2018 - they had me marked as late from the first day of the loan - all due to the purchase origination date at Sun. I went back to complain and see about getting it fixed - the ENTIRE finance department was fired! Dealing with the director over the phone - his name was Ken - he assured me he would fix it. I went in the very next day and met him after waiting for 39 minutes. He acted surprised I was there - he again assured me he would fix it and call me later in the week. No call back. I called repeatedly and he was either away from his desk or out of the office. Finally he had me deal with the customer service rep where she conveyed a message it is not their problem and go deal with your bank - also offered me a $250 voucher toward purchase at their dealership. Beware of sales tactics. I had a similar experience to the woman who negotiated pricing for her daughter only to find out that pricing excluded many charges which got added on to what she thought was the 'final' price. 1) They quickly and helpfully offer internet pricing. When you get there you find out there are many caveats to that pricing such as you must be in the military, or a recent college grad, or (insert caveat). The actual price for you is thousands higher than what they lured you in with. I've purchased through two other internet sales departments and NEVER not had the price I was quoted instantly honored. (Thank you Honda). 2) They take your car to value the trade-in very early in the process. DO NOT LET THEM DO THIS. YOU'LL BE STUCK AND UNABLE TO LEAVE. The trade-in value they quote you from their website tool is, of course, much higher than they offer you even if you count on the low end of the website quote. 3) After much time and effort they will start to come to the prices quoted after making sure you know they're doing you a favor and insisting that you give them something to work with since they're making so many concessions for you. But it's exhausting. And did I mention time consuming? "Let me see if I can even get you that discount you don't qualify for, because, you know, that price we quoted you over the internet had lots of caveats". 4) Then when/if they match the prices you'll see that the cost is still much higher than you were expecting. Oh, that is because they have added thousands of dollars of upgrades to every vehicle. And you guessed it. Those costs/prices were NOT included in the quote you got over the internet. Those are extra. They won't match the prices. You see they've already put the very expensive paint protection on the car. An additional caveat to the internet price quote is that it does not include any dealer installed extras. Again, I've never not had an internet price quote matched. You knew the paint protection was on the car; what good was the quote you sent? Seems a little shady, does it not? 5) After all the exhausting work to get down somewhere close to the price you were initially quoted and thought you were coming in to work with you may come to what you think is a deal and they start the process of transferring belongings from your old car before you complete financing. DO NOT LET THEM DO THIS UNTIL YOU SEE THE FINANCING PAPERWORK (by the way it is electronic so you can't see the whole page at once). When you get to finance they add an extra fee, $995 to be exact, for the cost of filling out paperwork. This is in addition to the cost of the car and over and above what thought you agreed to pay. A THOUSAND dollars. So keep in mind if you choose to shop there and work via the Internet that you must add the thousands for the paint protection they've already added to each vehicle (no, you get no choice in this) and another thousand for the doc prep fees. If you are quoted a price over the internet, good luck getting it. If you do not shop over the internet, remember that your "final" price does NOT include the additional $1k they add for filling out the paperwork. I hope this helps someone. read more

I purchased a 2011 Toyota Sienna in December (as is), the radio did not work, the navigation had sound but not the radio. I asked at purchase about getting radio fixed, the salesman would not negotiate. I took the vehicle into my local Toyota dealer who said the radio had burned up when someone changed the battery (which was wrong). Unplugging the entertainment system made the radio to work again, now it is either the monitor, dvd player or entertainment systems interface computer. Sun Toyota has contacted me and offered to work with me to resolve the radio issue and apologized for the long waits. I appreciate the manager reaching out to me and offering to work together to solve the radio/entertainment system issue. read more

Service department wanted to charge me $1700 for a whole new driveshaft assembly instead of replacing (2) worn u-joints on my Tacoma. Had it done elsewhere for $150 including materials. Second visit to diagnose blower motor issue, also convinced me to replace rear leaf springs under factory recall. Messed up the install and then argued for weeks as to the solution. They supplied a written quote with all the details, so driving an hour to see them was worth it. We knew we weren't going to get any surprises when we arrived. Paul was ready with the vehicle and explained the features of the SUV very well. He was very accommodating and made time for us. The Finance Team was very very slow, it took over an hour to get our paperwork ready, which was unacceptable. We were turning in a Toyota, so our record of payment and credit were top notch. We walked in to ask for a sales rep- the receptionist could not be bothered to look up and greet us. She finally does and then pages for a sales rep - we stood there for awhile, the receptionist walks over to the sales rep that was sitting next to us the whole time - he just couldn't be bothered with greeting us. We are also inside - and he was not wearing a mask. I guess customer service is not what they are known for. Sad! Oh well we will go to another dealership that appreciates our money. Horrific experience. After reading the other reviews, I was sadly mistaken. We were trading in a vehicle, and the numbers were already agreed on. We spent 3 hours to cut a 3k dollar check for the difference. No one could give a reasonable explanation for the wait. The customer relations manager screams typical greaseball, and he was less than accommodating. Now the sales lady Monica was great! She was trying to push constantly and get the "paperwork pushed thru". Baron was as much help as he could be. He did his best and was the most helpful during the wait. Everything seemed on track during our conversation but then he ask for my email and phone number to text and call i thought nothing of it. He ended my call by saying " I'm going to go work with my manager and get you a price, I will call you back tonight or first thing in the morning." So I waited... and waited.... and waited. Finally a "manager" called me three days later following up with my experience and I told him what happened, exact same conversation happened " Let me get ahold of DJ, and I will have him or myself call you back and get things going". 3 more days still no response back. I have to say this has been the worst experience I have ever had trying to buy a vehicle. I'll start with this... If you are financing a car, Toyota is offering 2.9% for a 5 year loan with good credit. Anything above that is bank to the dealership. That's if you decide to move forward after reading this. Ok. With that said. I traveled 4.5 hours to this dealership to by a vehicle. I confirmed with the manager and the sales rep the day before the trip, as well as in the morning. When I arrived the sales rep informed me the vehicle was sold the day prior. They neglected to tell (I believe on purpose) in an effort to get me there. After my initial frustration I continue in the sales process and actually purchased a vehicle (I can't believe it either). During the negotiating process they tried every possible move to not tell me the apr on the loan. I would responses like "we're competitive". After finalizing the sale I was told that I would receive details on when the car would come in. I signed the paperwork and went home. 5 days later I received an email for a car with a different vin number and different features and said I should expect the vehicle soon. When I inquired as to why the vehicle's vin had changed I was told "don't worry about it. It's the same car". When I explained that it couldn't be because the vin had changed I was told "it had the same features". When I asked why the msrp was different I was told " we are giving you a vehicle with more features but we aren't charging you anything extra. We are giving you more for less." When I asked how I could be receiving more for less when the msrp on the new vehicle is less than the purchased vehicle they were left dumbfounded. I finally spoke with the general manager and he agreed to refund my deposit. That was 6 days ago. I still have not received the refund. If you are planning on buying a vehicle this memorial weekend, I suggest you go else where. read more

DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM SUN TOYOTA...EVER! I had bought a certified Toyota Prius from Sun Toyota in New Port Richey back on 02/08/14. My friend and I had stopped into the dealership to look into trading in my Infiniti; I was looking for a car with better fuel economy since I drive a lot for my job. I had selected a 2011 certified Prius with 47,000 miles. Throughout the sales process it was NEVER disclosed to me (and my friend who was with me at the time later confirmed this) that my car was involved in a rear end collision just a few months prior to me having purchased it! I would later find out that the crash my car was involved in was severe enough for the police to respond and resulted in the complete replacement of the rear end section of my Prius. In retrospect, finding out my car was involved in such an accident actually helped explain the on-going problems I had with my car since having purchased it from Sun Toyota. The first thing I had noticed was that my stereo would sometimes work or not work (the unit would go on and off without me actually turning in on or off?) I would bring it into the dealership. When they would inspect it, they would not be able to "repeat" the malfunction so they never would fix the problem. I have brought the car into the Sun Toyota Service Center at least 5 times for this issue alone without any resolution. Then, I noticed my hatch back license plate lights would sometimes work, not work, or one would work, when my lights for the car were turned on. Back to the dealership I went for this problem several times, again without any resolution. Eventually, Sun Toyota's Service Center told me it was an electrical problem not covered under my certified Toyota warranty. Then one morning I had noticed my rear bumper was coming unattached from the car. Upon further inspection, I found the bumper was not attached correctly to the frame of the car. At the time I just assumed someone had ran into my bumper in a parking lot or something. However, now I know better. This takes us to about three weeks ago when I brought the car back to Sun Toyota to look into trading it in for a newer Prius model. Upon my discussion with one of the sales associates in Sun Toyota's Used Car Center it was revealed to me for the first time that my car was in an accident. To make matters worse, Sun Toyota was claiming that they could not give me the "full" value for my trade-in because the car had been in an accident! I was furious and explained to the sales associate that I had never known about my car having been in an accident. He told me that they had disclosed it to me when I had bought my car. When I asked for the signed Car Fax proving that they had disclosed it to me, he told me that they would get me a copy. It took three weeks for me to get a copy and nearly an hour at the dealership waiting for them to make me a copy of it, but of course I was right...I did not sign the Car Fax! Please do not buy a car from this dealership! Their sales department is awful, the level of disrespect and dismissiveness I have received is truly unforgivable for a business. Shame on Toyota Corporate for allowing such an establishment to bear their corporate name. I am now saddled with a car that no dealership wants to buy because of the accident it was involved in and a car that is literally falling apart around me. Take your hard earned money elsewhere and avoid Sun Toyota in New Port Richey at all costs! read more

My son made an appointment a month ago to have the entire splash shield replaced. He was transferred to the parts department to order the parts & make sure it was there on day of appt. I arrived at 7:30 am (appt at 8) & was told it wasn't there. Seriously? I live an hour away and was not going to come back for the repair. They sent a driver to Clearwater to get the splash guard which took an extra hour there and back. They did not compensate me for their error. I'm in the market to make a new purchase and I was think about buying my next vehicle from them but I'll pass on that now. We drive to see the vehicle and they dont have the model on the lot.... they insist on trying to sell us a a higher end model. when we tell them we dont want those high payments, they push us toward a lease. we say no. they bring in a manager. he tries to push us into a lease. we say no, repeatedly. They ask for a $500 deposit and they say they can get the car in a week. They don't and continue to push the lease option on a more expensive truck. A complete waste of my time. read more

Josh was excellent in the sales service he provided for my interest in a 2021 Rav4 I even filled out a credit application and got down to the amount I wanted it wasn't until i met the FM PERRY where the deal turned sour. He tried to tell me what I needed instead of what I wanted and charged up my monthly payment, then insults me about my accident and I state "u don't look to banged up" I guess that was some type of compliment. He later tells me he hates doing lease paperwork because it takes forever I know I needed a wear and tear package on a lease but the way he went about it was completely terrible. Make a long story short after waiting and getting such poor conversation from him. I decided to leave knowing I had a totaled vehicle and needed a new car I felt taken advantage of. I then went the next day to Courtesy Toyota and got an even better deal lower payments for the exact same vehicle and much better service. I bought a 2019 Toyota Corolla SE Hatchback, brand new. I DID NOT buy it at Sun Toyota. It's hard to know where to even begin. I went on 9/28/19 after signing up to see a specific car using USAA's car buying service through TrueCar. I'm on a tight budget. I was originally looking at a 2019 Toyota Corolla LE sedan that seemed too good to be true: 100 miles, Pre-owned certified, and only $14,900. Now I knew there would be tax, tag, title and all those normal fees, but I was hoping with down payment, trade in, and haggling, I would be good to go. I was supposed to meet someone else but when I get there that gentleman was busy and handed me off to Niko. A goofy but fun young kid. I told them I was on a tight budget and wanted to be around $200/mth, no more. We test drove two cars and I said I was interested. I gave them my title for my car I was trading in and then he came back with numbers. APPALLING NUMBERS. $1,000 for my trade in. $1,000! You could get that anywhere for a non-running junker. It was like a slap in the face. My car was worth $3,500-4,500 on black book (at auction) On top of that, almost $2,500 for a bunch of stuff like certifying it ("reconditioning") and the Sun Protection Package (which I don't want). OH AND HERE'S THE KICKER! The DEALERSHIP basically took the car off their own new car lot, retitled it as used, and is selling it there. RECONDITIONING IT MY BUTT! The car had 96 miles. WHY ARE YOU CHARGING $1,112 TO RECONDITION A NEW CAR THAT ONLY YOU HAVE OWNED?! I'll tell you why, this is how they make money. (They've already retitled a ton of their own 2020 Corolla's as used, isn't that just funny?) After going back and forth, my final out the door price would've been $17,000 or $250/mth. I was being pressured by Niko over and over with him saying, "You said you liked the car/I've spent all this time with you/What did I do wrong?" It was like a bad break up. After being there 7 HOURS, I'm not even joking, I felt like I wanted to puke. I managed to get my title back and get out of there. It was the most stressful, unpleasant car buying experience ever. Now here's the next fun part. For two weeks I have received anywhere from 1-4 phone calls per day, emails, text messages and appointment emails (which I NEVER agreed to additional appointments). I thought the harassment finally ended when I hadn't heard a peep from them in the recent 2 days (thanks to blocking some numbers and unsubscribing from email). But low and behold, I just got another call from them this morning. Oh yeah, they have nice amenities, but what do those matter if they low ball you on your trade in, throw in all sorts of non-negotiable fees, and pressure/harass you? I have already told everyone I work with, everyone in my family, and anyone who will listen about this place. I will NEVER go here again. Whether it is for a new/used car or service. NEVER! Stay away from Morgan Auto Group!!!! And to Michelle, the Customer Relations Specialist, who comments to everyone here...You obviously aren't stressing this treatment enough to the management or else this wouldn't be repeated multiple times over. Please have them stop calling/emailing/texting me. I'm over it! Where did I finally buy my car? Courtesy Toyota of Brandon. Got a brand NEW (non retitled) 2019 Toyota Corolla SE Hatchback: a more EXPENSIVE car, a higher trim level, and with only 13 miles on it. Had a 10am appt for the air bag recall, this was also my third time getting this done, so why or what did they do the first two times, but we won't go there, anyway, by noon my car wasn't even looked at yet, plus i was told the woman before me never showed so i was getting her parts as they didn't even know if they had the parts in!!!! I was totally lied to the entire day, didn't want a car wash either but they told me when it was time to finally get back my car that it was coming out of the washing place, guess what, never even washed!!!! I had to take a rental from them just so i could get out of there and finish up the rest of my errands which by this time was the end of the day, which like i said i started at 10am. All LIES, just trying to appease the customer, we are not stupid TOYOTA, if you overbooked appts, and didn't have enough parts in don't lie, be honest, and Kira who was trying to keep us customers somewhat calm, was also a liar, she even told me my car was being washed, then said i could have free oil change for my inconvenience, keep the oil change toyota, i'd rather pay someone else to do it. Horrible dealership. I spoke with someone over the phone established a price for a car to purchase. My wife and daughters went in to sign the paperwork. They were told it would be almost $1200 more that what had been discussed on the phone with myself. Finally got this straightened out and then discovered the card they were trying to sell was not the same one that had been discussed on line. It was a different car with more miles for the same price. When asked for the carfax report for this car they "somehow" provided the car fax report for the original car I was discussing with them on line. They now said they can't find the car even though it has a gps locator in it. My wife was trying to get a better understanding and the sales manager Trey came in a just started speaking to her in a condescending manner and told her " thats all you going to get out of us we cant find the other car". I communicated with an Internet salesman named Phil several times via email. I was looking for a specific make and model with specific options. And I was very clear in my request. I wanted to nail down his best price because I intended to buy the next day. He was evasive, and then he got rude. He accused me of working for a competing dealership and said he couldn't take me seriously unless I told him about my down payment, trade-in, and more. (Why does Sun Toyota have an Internet salesman who is unwilling to discuss price over, you know, the INTERNET?) He also said the best price was reserved for customers who visited in person. Funny, but most other dealerships had no trouble treating me like a serious buyer. No other dealership asked me for personal information that was irrelevant at this stage. They need to stop ruining our cars when they do a very simple maintenance. I was at the dealership today just to change oil for my 2013 AVALON, after they changed the oil, I just fueled up the gas tank but the tank sign in my dashboard is still on and that never happened before I visit them. "the car has 65k miles on it" I barely drive the car 20 mile a day max. I have no idea what they did with the car so that I will be forced to go back again and got charged again and it is always never the dealership's mistake when something new happened to your car after your visit.
