Updating my review four years later and removing a couple stars for disappointing service. In July 2014, about 2 years after the panels were installed, they sprung a leak at one of the connections. Brandon came out and fixed it but he didn't cover it under warranty and charged quite a bit for the repair. I thought they should have covered it under the 3 year installation warranty. Later in 2014, I discovered that they had severed an irrigation pipe to make room for one of the footings during the initial installation back in 2012. Since the panels are in the back of my property where no one ever goes, this pipe had been gushing water for years without anyone noticing. The pipe was sawed off on either side of the footing but they never told me that they had done that during the installation. After fixing that problem myself, our total water usage went down about 30%. This cost me a lot of money. The panels remain very effective at heating the pool though. No complaints there. read more

When I bought a foreclosure recently, I inherited a solar pool system. My pool service tried to start the solar system but said there was a problem, probably a blockage in the return line. My pool service recommended Greg & Brandon at Sunchaser as honest experts that could fix my clogged solar system. Having no prior knowledge of solar systems, I felt I was prime for being taken advantage of by the solar industry and I fully expected that I would be told to replace my whole system at a major cost. I called Greg and he came out a week later. I was dreading the experience. He explained that it was unlikely that there was a blockage because items that would cause a blockage could not run through the solar panels. He was extremely nice and professional and he inspected my solar system thoroughly. He initially could not find the problem, but agreed that water was not getting from the solar panels back to the pool. He said that I might have to take the plumbing apart piece by piece to find out what the problem was. I was devastated, as I could see the cost piling up. All of a sudden he said, "Guess what I found?" "There is a valve turned fully off on the return line." He opened it up and I turned on the pump and the system started to work. I went from devastated to overjoyed instantly. He continued to review the system and changed out a couple of couplings and fixed a small leak, and the bill was minimal. He showed me why he made the changes and made sure I understood how the system worked. He showed me how to set up an automatic program and agreed to come out at my request to check the solar system every 6 months for a nominal cost. I was so incredibly happy with Greg's manner and professionalism and I will recommend Sunchaser Solar to everyone who needs a solar expert. Sunchaser installed 12 panels - ground mount on pressure treated lumber mid June 2016. Within 2 days my pool temp went up to 90+ degree temps which made my kids and wife very happy and use the pool much more than before. It's only been about a few weeks since install, but so far I couldn't be happier. Greg has been super responsive to any questions, the installation was very clean and the system just works. Having a pool for one year we knew we needed pool solar to prolong our swimming time. We got three quotes from 3 companies, including Sunchaser ( which was recommended by our pool guy). We are so glad we did! Greg and Brandon are the best! Greg came to my house and walked me through the entire process. I shopped around and got quotes from 5 local pool solar companies. These guys weren't the cheapest of the 5, they were actually the 2nd cheapest, but their professionalism, knowledge and customer focused approach was what sold me on their company. They weren't pushy like some of the other companies that came out for a quote. They didn't speak to me in such a technical way that turned me off. They were respectful and patient in explaining any questions I had. The installation was pretty quick, as well as clean and efficient. I've had to follow up with them a few times because I had questions about adjusting the equipment settings after a family member fiddled with the settings and another time when the circuit breaker had to be turned off to tend to a separate household repair, but they took my call with a welcoming attitude and walked me through the adjustments. We had this company come out to repair a leak in our solar system. They came out quickly and the price was on par with the other quotes I got. They "fixed" the leak, I paid and they left. When I turned the system on it was still leaking. I called the cell phone of the guy that had done the repair and told him it was still leaking. He apologized and said he would get in touch with his scheduling guy to get it fixed. This was on Friday afternoon. No call that day. I called him again on Monday and he told me they hadn't forgotten about me and that his scheduling guy would call me. I also called the main phone and left a message. No call on Monday. Tuesday I again called the main line and got no answer. It's been a week and I've yet to hear from anybody from the company. I don't mind it not being repaired the first time. Those things happen. But if you take somebody's money for work not complete and then just ignore them, that's fraud. I was referred to Greg at Sunchaser by the contractor who installed my Pentair variable speed pool pump. I was having a few issues with the pool's solar system that I was unable to resolve by myself. I reached Greg on his mobile phone and he had me go out to the panel box, run through various settings, read him the displays, and then text him pictures of my valve settings. I called Sunchaser Inc out to repair a couple of leaks that had sprung from my solar pool heating system that they had installed in 2005. The repair team, while evaluating my complaints, offered that the configuration of the system done that long ago was not doing an efficient job and could be improved. Jesse called the office supervisor and explained the issue and was allowed to do a renovation to make it perform at its best. They not only took care of that, they mended several roof tiles that they found, while doing the work, with spare tiles I provided. The roof has always been notoriously brittle. After contacting a few companies about pool solar, we chose to go with SunChasers. We were referred to them by multiple people who all said what great work they do. Initially in contact with Brandon, they were very quick at getting back to us. Greg was able to come out that weekend and answer all of our questions. After we received their bid the following Monday, we were ready to move forward with them as their price was very reasonable, and their system fit our needs perfectly. Brandon quickly responded to every email I had that week, and we had our installation set up for that Thursday. I received a phone call that morning that they were on their way, and I had them go ahead and get started without me being home. When I did arrive home about an hour later, they all stopped what they were doing to personally come introduce themselves to me. All 3 workers were possibly the most friendly workers I have ever encountered. They were all very responsive to every question I had. They walked me through exactly what they were doing for the install so I knew exactly what was going on. And they all did so with a smile on their faces. We needed some additional assistance with the other new pool equipment we had installed, and they were very willing to help us set up and figure out this equipment that wasn't even theirs. I called this company on 7-14-2016 after reading the reviews here and left a voicemail asking for an appointment to repair or replace a leaking hot water solar panel at my residence. As of 7-19-2016 there was no response, so I called again, left another voice mail and also sent an email. I got an email response back that same day indicating that the company would be in touch with me "shortly." It's now 7-24-2016 and "shortly" has turned into "not at all." No response whatsoever. I am very happy with the product and the installation of Ecosun Solar. The water temp is higher than previous system and it works really well. Also, Sunchaser was the best price. But reason I am giving a low rating is because Brandon would not give me the manufacturers warranty card. After 5 weeks I finally had to go the manufacturer directly to get the warranty card which spells out what is actually covered under warranty. It should be filled out by Sunchaser. The reason the warranty card is important is because I had to use the warranty on my first installation and I had to show the warranty card before the work was covered under warranty. Brandon was not truthful about providing the warranty card, saying that the manufacturer was out of them. When I contacted the manufacturer they sent me the warranty card the same day. All I needed was Brandon to complete and sign the warranty card which is a very simple form to complete compared to the installation itself. And I paid the bill in full because I trusted Brandon. I strongly urge anyone who is getting these solar panels from Sunchaser that you do not pay for it until you receive the signed and completed warranty card which should be provided to you when the panels are installed. read more
