Jeremy is a perfect storm- rude, unprofessional and incompetent... or worse? We began excavation with plans to replace our skimmer, after Jeremy cited it as the source of our pool leak. When I raised concerns and questions he opted to get rude and personal... so much so that we severed ties midway through our project. And I'm glad we did because the service we hired instead correctly showed us that the skimmer was not the site of our leak; the correct site was rapidly identified and repaired. Unfortunately it cost $1100 extra to retest for leaks and repair the needless excavation that Jeremy's team undertook (not enough to pursue litigation). It is interesting to read Swim Care reviews on this site- mostly 1 or 5 stars, not much in between. I guess the service he provides depends on what side of the bed Jeremy gets up from on a given day? And note his response to the 1-star authors- always indignant, never apologetic, never taking responsibility... you can see it right here on Yelp. Our leak has been repaired. Fact- Jeremy misdiagnosed our issue. There is also a common thread of charging rates higher than other services. One review here and there- merely anecdotal. A common theme, as you will find in this body of reviews- caveat emptor. So my informed advice- look elsewhere for pool care. read more

Update: Got of quote from another local pool company and the cost for the Same jacuzzi heater and pool filter, installation is $3000 less. My wife and I contacted Swim Care Pool Service to look at our pool and jacuzzi equipment. We just moved in and wanted to upgrade some things. We spoke with the owner, Jeremy. We set a day and time for Jeremy to give a quote. He called and cancelled so we rescheduled for the next day. He came and ran into our pool guy. Seems they knew each other and have worked together. Jeremy tried to deny giving us a quote for a new pool filter. He was more concerned about working with them than to provide us a quote. You're the one that cancelled the original appointment. He reluctantly said he'll give a quote. We waited 3 days with no quote. When my wife called him he was very rude and said he will get it to her. He even discussed his personal life with my wife thinking that would excuse his behavior. I'll leave out the details, but inappropriate. We finally got our quote and it was obscenely high. Much higher than the phone estimate. An obvious attempt to not work with us. Our jacuzzi is not much bigger than most. I called Jeremy with no answer, so I left a message. He called me after the weekend and it was more of the same. A disengaged, rude business owner that is obviously not interested in his business or customers. The phone call was not positive, so I hung up and texted him instead. The texting was not any better. He texted to me "Obviously you have a personal issue" and in another text said " I think you're possibly a little prejudice." Whoa, really? All for wanting you to give an honest estimate, not wast our time and not to discuss your personal life with my wife? I would gladly pay double to a company that has integrity, respect for clients, respect for their family and some professionalism. read more

Jeremy is the very best in the world! He has done multiple repairs at our home and fixed every issue flawlessly. He is an honorable man and I totally trust him. I hired this person, Jeremy Mondell (SWim Care) he is supposed to be a leak specialist but he never tested my pool and equipment completely in a professional manner. He never tested my valves, pool equipment and plumbing. When you are a leak specialist, you should test all those things. He never sent me a complete report. He just said its coming from a tiny crack. He only did a quick visual inspection, he was at my house for a very short time, maybe less than 30 mins, but never tested the plumbing, pool equipment and all the valves. When I asked him of the report, he never provided me with a comprehensive report in writing. Instead he only provided an estimate to fix the crack that will cost me over $22,000. Obviously this is not accurate. I hired another company, American Leak Detection, and guess what they did a thorough inspection, they were at my house for more than 2 hours and they found the source of my pool leak, it is from the solar system. Unlike this guy, Jeremy who claimed he is a pool specialist but has never done all the above. On top of this, I was asking him to send me a report of the plumbing test and pool equipment test, he ignored me bec he has nothing to send. All he did was visual inspection, he found a miniscule crack and just claimed that the leak was coming from there. The expert agreed that it should not be coming from there. I paid Jeremy over $ 550 but he declined to refund to me. I will never use his services ever again. I am very disappointed by this person's unprofessionalism and lack of business integrity !!! read more

I was shopping around for a full pool remodel and Jeremy sent his guy to come to my house to examine my pool. He seemed very keen to take on the work as this was a big project so re-plaster, new skimmer, auto fill, coping and tilling. Jeremy sent me a bid and it was higher than all the other bids - he quoted me $8,900 for the coping and $3,880 for the tilling for a 497 square foot small pool. This was in addition to the re-plaster, skimmer and auto fill bid. I have paved many backyards and tilled multiple kitchens and bathrooms so I knew his pricing for coping and tilling was way too expensive. Anyways, I asked Jeremy if he could remove the coping and tilling from the bid but keep the rest (re-plaster, skimmer, auto fill etc) but Jeremy did not like that at all and texted me back to say "good luck" and I never heard back from him again. If you are shopping around for pool companies, don't pick this one as they are on the expensive side and make sure you read the 1 star reviews. They don't like it when you question their pricing. I called Jeremy at Swim Care in regard to a leak in my in-ground pool. I left a message on his phone and received a return call that evening. That impresed me, a lot of venders I have worked with over the years have waited days to call me and some have never returned my call. I explained the nature of my leak and made an appointment for him to come on-site. He showed up on-time and explained the different possibilities that could explain the leak. He explained that the skimmer and/or pool lights are prime culprits. Since I needed to replace the skimmer anyway we decided to start with that and go from there. The crew he sent out for this job was on-time and they did a perfect job of replacing the skimmer and pool coping. This slowed the leak a bit but did not totally stop it. The next target was the pool lights. Jeremey explaind why they were prone to leaks and the process of sealing the light cords behind the lights. Again he came back on time and performed the work taking time to explain to me what he was doing and why this should help. SUCCESS! That stoped the leaks. Going forward I plan to use Jeremy for all my pool repairs. read more

***DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY*** I made the mistake of hiring this company in May and had to fire them in early September. In a little over 3 months, they completely messed-up my Cyanuric Acid levels, My Calcium Hardness levels, my TDS levels, Phosphates, Copper, Free Chlorine and Total Chlorine levels, pH and Total Alkalinity levels. The water was murky and full of algae. Jeremy blamed it on the Cyanuric Acid levels in my pool and told me it was going to cost me $750 to drain my pool and re-fill it. Come to find out that Jeremy's service people CAUSED this high levels of Cyanuric Acid by using an excessive amount of chlorine tablets. They filled my chlorine feeder to the top with 5 tablets and stuck a bunch more in my pool drain. This was done purposely in my opinion to generate more money from me. In addition, Jeremy sent out a woman with her very young kid to service my pool. They were here for approximately 5 minutes and left, so I'm not even sure that they did anything at all except stick a bunch of chlorine tablets in my pool. Their service days were spiritic, so I could never tell when they were going to be here on any given day. The pool tiles were left with algae, it was a complete mess. If you are currently using this company for service, beware. Excessive use of chlorine tablets will increase the Cyanuric Acid levels in your pool which will create a big problem, and this seems to be Jeremy's "go to" in order to cause problems so he can charge you more to fix (in my opinion). read more

We can't say enough good things about Jeremy at Swim Care Pool Services. We called him when our fountain by our front walkway started leaking through the tiles. He came right away and immediately diagnosed the problem, the contractor who built it had failed to Properly seal it. Therefore, the fountain had to be demoed and sealed correctly and then rebuilt. Jeremy made what would've been a very painful and aggravating process a very simple and efficient one. The process moved swiftly and seamlessly, and more importantly professionally. We had Swim Care perform a leak inspection of our Jacuzzi. We ended up having them fix a cracked pool skimmer and jackhammering our Jacuzzi to fix a substantial leak. The team was professional, very clean and you could tell they take pride in their work. They explained everything since this wasn't a simple patch job and they really took the time to make sure all leaks were resolved as they were performing the repairs. These guys were recommended to me but after trying to get a hold of somebody for the last week. I gave up. If you call their number you will get this text back. "I'm currently on a jobsite. Please send photos and information about any repairs needed" I tried that a few times but never a call or text back. Worse pool service provider I've ever spoken to, dealt with and tried to work with. 1. Tracy who answers and returns the call is such a rude woman with no phone manner. She is always in rush, trying to get you say ok to the service and "their" convenient time so she can hold you hostage later on. 2. My home warranty company referred me to them, they called 2 weeks after I submitted the claim with the home warranty, scheduled a first visit. My husband was home, paid them and talked to them about the issue. They then submitted an invoice to my warranty company that agreed to move forward with additional out of pocket from us. We said ok. 3. Tracy called me again, talking to me in a hurry and told me that we should get the technician at our home to change the filter last Tuesday. I told her that we are going on vacation and would prefer to be there for the installation. She then started going off about the fact that if we don't change the filter on Tuesday, water will go green and my warranty company won't cover the work to clean the water. I said, I'm ok with that. And I asked her to send a technician 1 week after on Tuesday. I asked for the window that a tech can be there, she said she couldn't provide a window... so I'm supposed to wait around all day to see when they show up. I asked her to have a technician give me call before getting there instead. 4. Today, Tuesday, a technician shows up at the house, WITHOUT any notice. I get a call from Tracy again, "a tech is there, if no one is there to pay, he can't install". So I said, I never received any call. She said she doesn't remember promising to call me before a technician comes to our place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And "if technician has to leave and how up again, we will have to pay a trade fee of $60 again". Who does that these days... I can't get a window of work and can't get a call before someone shows up at my house... REALLY??? No thanks to your service. I'll be sure to report this to my warranty company. read more

If you don't want to read my long review, here's our experience in a nutshell, it was a company provides very inconsistent service, communicates poorly and overall hard to work with. Not great value for money in terms of service either. Somehow people think this company is cheap, well, if you are happy to pay $100/month to have them add chemicals to your pool twice then I guess you can try them. But we had multiple issues: 1. Despite the fact we pay $100 for pool services, we still get a ton of algae problems and had to buy chemicals from Leslie's ourselves to solve the issue. 2. We decided we could do it ourselves by simply talking to the staff at Leslie's pool supplies and get chemicals ourselves (btw, it worked well and they even provide free water testing). 3 days before our last service, we emailed this company and explicitly told them we wanted to terminate the contract AFTER the last service is done. Well, guess what, the pool guy no showed on the last service. We then called and called and was told he would come the next day. He again no showed (we waited for him all day). We called the company again on the same da\y at 4:30pm and was told they would get back to us. Never did. Then the pool guy somehow randomly showed up on 7/5 which was a Friday and like most people that weekend we were on vacation and were not home (gate was locked). We then received a text message from the company saying given we were not home the service is considered complete!!!! I can not think of another word other than "Rip-off" to describe this company. I feel like I'm wasting my time to chase after $50 at this point, but I think I should like everyone here know that if you, for whatever reason, decide to choose this company as your pool service provider, please be prepared to be very flexible and accommodating. Otherwise, you are probably signing up for more hassle than you asked for. read more

AVOID THIS BUSINESS! Our spa needed repair. The spa was inspected and we were given a quote to getting it in working order. After paying for the repairs, we were told an new spa shell would be required at an additional cost of $6000! The spa had been inspected twice before signing the contract and there was no mention of the problem with the spa shell. We did not want to spend that much money on the spa. We contacted Mr. Mondell and requested that he take the unused pump and filter back and refund us the cost of the equipment. We were willing to pay for the labor of his technician ($500) even though this was money down the drain. He refused, became angry and threatened putting "a LIEN on our home." Both the homes they serviced operate as vacation rentals, so the jacuzzis must be clean upon tenants arrival. I was not heavily monitoring their invoicing, but now after going through all invoices, have realized that they were charging us abysmal amounts for work done, and our Jacuzzi's were still gross. We requested to be contacted if they were going to charge over a certain amount, which they did not do. A piece from the spa had broken and water was draining out into the street. I had no idea what to do and they did not answer my call for two days. I had to have my father come over and help me shut off the water. Recently we had a Pump installed, and we were charged twice for said pump. So in one month we were charged $4500. We then found that the "online chlorinator" which was quoted to us as part of the pump installation $325 for the chlorinator, $1300 for the pump, was charged to us separately in the invoice. So including the initial double charge, we were essentially charged for the same piece of equipment 3 times. Jeremy tried to tell us that the discrepancy of $325 was not an additional charge for the spa part, but rather our monthly service. But in breaking down the charge, I accounted for BOTH July and June service for BOTH of our properties and our monthly service totals $300 and not $325. His invoices even support this extra charge he made to us. We have been refunded for the double charge of the spa pump (I was able to get that refunded to us BEFORE we discontinued service). We discontinued our service with him over a month ago, and he still owes us $325. He is refusing to pay us money that he overcharged. We are not asking for a refund for any service that he provided, simply a refund for an overcharge that he made. I provided him with full record of his invoices and the withdrawals from my account. His explanations never corresponded with his own invoices, yet he wouldn't refund us. I wish I had known a year ago that this is what I was getting myself into, that's my reason for writing this review. I hope this helps to offer incite on what it's like to work with Swim Care. We've just recently started using Swim Care Pool Services for our apartment building in Mission Hills. We are very satisfied with the professional, prompt, courteous service we've received. Jeremy walked me through the in's and outs of pool care and what is required by the city to keep our pool healthy, clean and to code. They responded promptly and he had all the answers. We also just had our aging nasty old pump and filter replaced by them with a very good energy efficient system, The install was perfect and they were quick to respond. They are AWESOME!! read more

I have reduced my rating to three stars because of my last experience with the company was not up to par. The guys that cleaned my pool last time didn't do a good job and left quite a bit of debris in the pool. They also put too much chemicals in the pool and I haven't been able to use it. Since then, I have had a hard time getting them to call me back or get follow through. I loved them previously because of their professionalism but my current experience is inconsistent. read more

I wish i had called Swim Care to search for my pool leak before I spent $ 399.00 with the first Co. Swim Care was a few dollars more but I would have saved money if I had called them first! From what I already knew and what I saw and learned they have up to date technology to search for a leak. More importantly, they worked hard and they were determined to find the leak. In the dead of winter, my pool freezing cold, the young man entered the water and swam around to inspect the pool structure!! When they say guarantee... they mean guarantee. They gave a decent quote on pump replacement, but installed the first pump incorrectly (by their own admission) and when the second, supposedly new pump blew out in less than 30 days, they took almost 3 months to replace it. Owner, Jeremy, would not return any calls or provide status of the warranty replacement. The job was only completed when we began small claims proceedings. read more
