Compared to what you get in vancouver or the tricities we find the pricing to be very fair. Ontop of that the portions are good. Being a golf course in a beautiful setting that pasta plate could've easily been $40+ in vancouver. With how nicely landscape is the service is good and friendly. We enjoyed how there was live music inside but we chose to be outside .

Although we sat in the dining side, we were able to hear the live music playing in the lounge which was amazing. I loved the Brussels sprouts and potato skins. We also ordered the bolognese which was nothing out of the ordinary. One downfall was our service. It took over ten minutes before we had our drink order taken. When our entrees arrived, three out of the six meals were brought to the table over 5 minutes after the initial three dishes were served. A male who we assumed was the manager approached our table, asked us how our evening was, said "great okay thank you" and walked away. It was a nice gesture, however the interaction was not very professional. I would come back for happy hour !

A friend was coming in from north van to meet me for lunch and I am currently in white rock so we decided to meet half way. He picked the River House as he had been before. We sat overlooking the water and it was a sunny day so it was especially nice. Our server was fantastic and very patient with us. She definitely contributed to our whole experience! I had the mussels / they were great but could have used a bit of a zing in the sauce - a fresh herb of some kind would have completely elevated the dish. I got the fries which I don't normally get and they were cooked to perfection. As was the toast. I would go back just for the toast. My friend had the ahi tuna burger and it looked great. I asked him how it was and nodded and grunted with his mouth full so I think he was happy too. We had the ice cream cake for dessert between the two of us - I thought I would have "just a spoon full" but I easily devoured half of it. SO good. Hope I have reason to be back in this area again!

The calamari was okay. Nothing special. They had a 3 meatball appetizer which went over well. I wasn't paying so I didn't pay attention to the bill, but is wasn't cheap or expensive. Kind of in the middle.

We went here on a Saturday night and made a reservation on OpenTable. It was a bit strange that…read morewhen we called the restaurant, they claimed they can't accommodate us until 9:30pm, but OpenTable shows availability well before then - starting at 8pm, so it was a strange experience with the inconsistency. We sat indoors with the option to be seated outdoors with heated lamps but we didn't want to smell the smoke from people smoking outside. We ordered the Dark Spell Latte, Albedo Spritz, and Final Word. The Dark Spell Latte is like an espresso martini with chocolate syrup added, which is pretty solid. The Albedo Spritz is a red wine cocktail with hard liquor, and stood out to me as they had 5oz of alcohol so this was fairly strong, but I would imagine most of the ounces came from the wine itself. I liked the gold dusted blackberry. The Final Word is fruity and smoky, which I enjoyed, but not warrant a hefty price tag compared to the other drinks. Service is decent and in line with other restaurant bars. Overall, solid drinks at okay prices that I can see myself recommending this spot. Given the name, it would be great to see more alchemy themed cocktails or decor as what draws me as a frequent bar goer is themed and unique drinks.

They are one of the restaurants that are open the latest so when we were looking for late night food on a weeknight, there weren't as many people in the area. They have an indoor seating area and an outdoor patio. On a nice warm evening, it was nice to sit outside. They have lots of seating so they're good if you want to be with a larger group too. Food was good. We went during happy hour and I got their happy hour burger + fries ($16) and a creme brulee ($6). The burger and fries was solid - nothing super amazing, but got the job done! The creme brulee was really good and came at a great price. I like that they have a lot of specials like pasta nights (wish I would've stopped by on those nights!), wine special days, and pizza special days. Service was fine. A little slow, but it was nearing the end of the evening so I'm sure it's quicker when it's more lively!
