Visited Sundancers twice while I was visiting my family on the Cape. Food, service, and atmosphere were excellent! Came back a second night with some friends, on a Saturday, to enjoy some dancing and drinking. Very safe and friendly atmosphere. A good mix of people of all ages were dancing and having fun. I will definitely keep this place in mind when I return for a visit. read more

Beautiful view from the deck seating. Inside is dark and we wouldn't have stayed if we didn't get a deck spot. Food was delish!! Hawaiian chicken sandwich was simple and perfectly cooked teriyaki chicken with a pineapple. The burger was thick and tasty. The onion rings are cut wide and tasted like a good cape code onion ring! - worth the $1.99 up charge. We had $5 off two meals coupon from the kayak rental place after renting kayaks. Glad we tried it out. The view is outstanding. Staff was pleasant. We will be back. read more

Honestly I wish zero stars was an option. The fact they have keno is the ONLY plus. Service is nonexistent and when you do get any sort of attention it's unnecessarily rude. Get some new staff and if you advertise having live music every night, I suggest doing it. read more

My self and a friend went there last night July 16 for dinner after the beach. Sat at the bar waiting for a table outside the bartender was very friendly and the drinks were good. Then we got sat at our table where a experience began. Ordered the clam chowder that was good. My friend ordered the stuff cod with Newberg sauce and asked for extra Newberg sauce on the side the server Kelly didn't even know what the Newberg sauce was and said they don't have it well it is on the menu as being part of the dish oh she says didn't know what that was called ok you should know better. I ordered the steak tips med/rare and they came out well done tried to eat them but tough and chewy. The 2nd time she came over we told her they were over cooked and chewy she said nothing she can do. Didn't bring out butter with the potato that we asked for when we ordered she went and got 2 pats of butter hello we need more there is 2 of us with potatoes she said oh sorry she would get in trouble if she brought out more without us asking for the butter. I live fairly local and will never go back or recommend this place to anyone. read more

My husband, myself and two friends ate dinner here tonight (7/7/18) for the first time this year and were very disappointed. We have always enjoyed the meals here and the view. Two of us ordered Fried Clam Plates listed as MP -- which was $25 when I inquired. Both plates were more french fries than clams -- and the fries were soggy. The broiled scrod and fried shrimp plates were ok but served with the same soggy french fries. We all agreed we would not come again -- and we've been coming here for years. But this year the prices have gone up and the quality of the food has gone down. i understand it is under new owership and it shows but not for the better. read more

On Saturday, September 14, 2013, we stopped here to grab lunch to go as we were doing a boat ride on the bass river. The boat ride was great the restaurant was not. We sat at the bar and were handed two menus. I order off of one menu and my husband order off the other menu which we later were told that is was the bar menu. Husband order chicken tenders that on his menu were approximately $4.50 but when we got the bill the price doubled and it did not even include any side dishes eg fries. What a rip off! I had the lobster roll which was great. Really wish the bartender told us that the pricing on the menus were different especially after we told him a couple of times it was take out! read more

New owners have brought this tried and true place and brought it to a whole new level! Everything is home made and cooked just right. I had one of the best burgers of a lifetime there and the fish tacos were delish. The flat fries are so light and taste like a potato! Yum. Hope Cait O. will pick up the tab next time. read more

Avoid this place: over 20 years in this business and I have never once left a bad review. No option for a negative star unfortunately. Server was very nice but clueless. Had to ask for common things repeatedly. I.e lobster tools and a bowl for shells. Dishes not cleared, at all. I should have listen to the table that left before me saying, " good luck"... table behind me had to take the kids into the pier to kill time as it was at best an hour for entrees ( before dinner and beach rush ) guy next to me sent back chowder which was cold and then cancelled his dinner order, I was a sucker and ate my lobster that I had to ask another server to check on and came out room temp and bland. Our first and last time to eat at Sundancers. The only positive to say was that the waitresses were friendly and our glass of wine was ok. The food sucked, to say it bluntly. Over priced and undersized. And very plain looking and tasteless. I ordered the baked seafood platter. The cod was very, very dry. Either it was frozen, thawed and frozen again and/or was baked too long. It was anything but fresh. The scallops were full of sand! YUCK. Lucky enough to the shrimp were ok. The vegetable was corn on the cob. It looked disgusting - either too old or over cooked. Find another place to eat!!!!! read more

This place is on of my favorites on the Cape. The food is just OK, but I don't go for the food. I go for the atmosphere...quintessential vacation party bar. Live bands, dancing and lots 'o drinking. TV's are always on tuned to the Sox. The bartenders are always swamped, but the most friendly around. If you are 30-50 this is the place to be on the Cape in the summer. read more

Avoid at all costs... Food was terrible and the service was even worse. Teriyaki steak tips had no teriyaki sauce or taste and were full of grizzle. The buffalo chicken sandwich they made you add your own buffalo sauce it came out as just grilled chicken with the hot sauce on the side of the plate (oh ya the cheese cost extra too). I had an excellent lunch here with my boyfriend. Nice deck seating overlooking the Bass river. Sat inside to avoid the sun. Good selection of cocktails (got the Voodoo juice) and a veggie burger. Wow.. Not sure where to start.. Made a reservation for my friends bachelorette party and from the moment we sat down it was AWFUL!! There were 12 of us and we sat outside and on the deck, the waitress had an attitude from the beginning .. When we started to order food the first few things that were ordered they were"out of", at that point we asked what else they were out of before we proceeded to go around the table and be forced to come up with something else on the spot. The waitress gave us a dirty look and said she was would find out and be back. She came back about the 10 mins later and said that our new waitress would be over shortly (in the MOST snotty voice ever). A bit later a nicer waitress came over along with the manager , he assured us we would receive better service and apologized. At that point we ordered because we were STARVING! An hour or more later we realized our food was still not there , shortly after it arrived however multiple orders were incorrect as well as multiple hairs (short and curly) were apparently included with the coleslaw. We couldn't believe we had to hunt down the manager AGAIN! Once we talked with him he said he was going to speak with the owner (I'm not sure If this was by phone or if the manager hides in the back) but he came back a while layer claiming not the owner would allow us 50% off the bill. While that was NOT acceptable we took it, got the hell out of that place as quick as we could and picked up pizzas on the way home. The service we received was unacceptable and I would never recommend this establishment. Oh forgot to mention the original waitress we had poured an entire drink into one of the bridesmaids Michael kors pocket books and tried to diffuse the situation by saying she did it to her own Gucci bag the day before and it was fine. Fun entertainment. We went on Jimmy Buffet night and our 4 year old loved dancing and was psyched to meet "the real" Jimmy who was a great sport. Early entertainment was family friendly which was nice. Friendly and attentive server and wait staff. We had the baked fisherman's platter... food was good, small portions but fresh seafood with a nice view of the harbor made for a fun evening. I love this kind of restaurant/bar. It is filled with locals and that's always a good sign. The owner and waitress were extremely friendly and provided great service. Atmosphere is casual. Visiting from Tempe, Arizona, I ordered fish and chips which were absolutely delicious. I can't get fish and chips that good anywhere in Arizona. The cod was meaty, tender and flaky with just the right amount of batter. Not too greasy. Delicious fries were even good re-heated the next day. I would stay away from this dive at all costs. Service is rude as hell, would serve my friend because he "didn't tip" even though he tipped a dollar on his first drink... Out of control locals were embarrassing during the shamefully bad cover bad that was so performing poor versions of average songs. House music was annoyingly loud, decor was straight up awful. The place looks sort of fun. Food is decent but very small portions are overpriced. Main concern is customer service. For instance, I am a server, if I ask how everything is, I am asking because I actually care, not just to say it. My husband got a drink he hated and the waitress said "How is your martini?" He said "It's actually not a good drink" and she said "oh, I'm sorry to hear that" and walked away. What is the point of asking? When I ask, I am asking to make it right with the customer. I have never met a more disrespectful and rude group of staff in my entire life. Forced all customers outside in an incredibly dangerous storm and were clearly way more concerned with the business than the satisfaction or safety of their high paying & loyal customers. Very disappointed and would not recommend this place to absolutely anyone ever. Worst dinner out ever.... Granted we were a very large group but the staggering of meals on one of the three tables was HORRID. There was such a gap between those who got their meal first to last was long enough for the chicken parm to congeal.... We were lucky to get one drink.... Wether water or otherwise. Had to go to the bar for anything else.... I have worked food service and table was ignored. The 'manager' was floating around but failed to ensure the happiness of his customers. First and only time I'd eat here..... Not vegetarian friendly. My "Italian" dressing was oil with separated vinegar.... So my salad was covered in the oil that had spilled from the cups. The restaurant was out of shrimp.., it's a seafood place ON THE OCEAN. Now u might be saying u had a large group... Sure but the other table of adults server checked in and their food came together or within minutes.... Apparently the cooks had to go catch the scallops for the dinners. If I could give less than one star I would... Their mudslides madness was suppose to be blended with ice cream it wasn't... Must have been out... Our table was not even asked if we wanted dessert... Other table was.... Great place I'm sure during the summer for fried clams... Otherwise seek elsewhere. read more

We've been going here for years and years,at least once a week. The view is great and the servers are very efficient and friendly. This used to be the locals hangout because of the great prices and great wait staff. The new management has changed the menu to much more limited options unless you want something fried. They do have a limited choice of non fried dinners with fish, but they are way overpriced. Prices have increased approximately 30% - 50%. We went there earlier this summer and were very disappointed, but decided to try it again last night. I ordered fish tacos. The fish was fried and there were three pinky finger sized pieces of fish. The menu does not mention fried, so it never occurred to me to think it might be. I had to return it. Then I ordered a beet salad, which was good but had about one beet diced up. We've decided to find a new place for our go-to never-fail dinners. So disappointed. read more

My friend and I tried this bar based on recommendations here on yelp, and liked the fact that there was live music, but I have to say we were rather disappointed. The staff is unfriendly, the bar smells, and the crowd is... eclectic. If you want to open a tab, they also charge your card $50 without telling you, but apparently "it is just to authorize" your card. A cheap bar, with cheap drinks shouldn't need to hold your $50. Anyway, this is not a hidden gem, it's just the opposite. I am sure you can find someplace better to spend your time and your money. read more

My in-laws own a house on the Bass River...within kayak distance of Sundancers. Absolutely love going to Sundancers every summer for the drinks, music, and bar food. However, I noticed it isn't just bar food anymore for the past few years. We had 2 excellent sit-down dinners here this Cape visit. The absolute best was the LOBSTER ROLL! I get one every year at the Cape from establishments from Harwich to Hyannis...some good, and a lot horrible with spoonfuls of MAYO. This was absolutely the best LR I've had...being somewhat health conscious. It was over-stuffed Heaven! read more

I absolutely love sundancers, especially on friday and saturday nights I always have a blast! The teriyaki steak tips, butternut bisque, and lobster bisque are to die for...and it doesnt break the bank. I went with some friends to see one of their friends band play and got a drink. Tipped a dollar on it and then drank it. Ordered a Bud Light which came to $3.75, paid 4$ and then just left the quarter on the bar. Once I finished that I continuously tried to order another beer and they just kept on snubbing me and ignoring me. So one friend ordered a drink and said I wanted something too (I thought maybe they just couldn't hear me when i said id like another beer) and the bartender told me I'm all set. Then another friend ordered a drink and said the same thing (that I wanted another drink) and then they said "I'm all set". So we left because apparently there was a problem. I took my quarter back and my friend took his tip back before they took it and left his full beer. One friend stayed there and then eventually asked why they refused to serve me and their answer was "because I wasn't tipping". REALLY?! I tipped on the first drink and then was going to leave another tip once i got another beer. How do they know that I'm not going to give them one lump sum tip at the end of the night?! Will NEVER go back to this place again. Don't go here unless you want to be treated like crap. read more

Embarrassing! We eat here quite a bit and told my brothers, who came up from Florida, that we had to go to Sundancers. We arrived July 3rd to a, basically, empty dining room as most patrons were out on the deck. There was one other table that already had food, one table waiting to make and order an us. We waited for at least 10 minutes before we had to grab one of the "many" servers working the deck, and ask where our server was. She looked perplexed and told us "they might not know you are here" (even though we were seated by the hostess). We waited another 10 minutes before we, again, had to ask the buser to find our server. Finally our "server" (think her name was Liz or Lizzy) came over and took our order. She brought our drinks and literally disappeared! When we finally got our food, the dishes were brought by a bus boy. We ask if we could order another round of drinks and was told he'd have to find our server. We told him she disappeared at least a half hour ago and we couldn't see her anywhere. He took the drinks by memory and left the table. Another 15 minutes went by and we had to grab another buser about finding our server. We watched her go to the bar. Apparently there was a problem with pulling servers from the bar tips to wait on the eating customers. 4 of them stood on the other side of the partition and had an argument "right in front of us" about who was supposed to be the server and who was staying in tip heaven!! The server literally came to the table announcing "whats the problem here!!!!" REALLY??? We told her we ordered drinks almost 20 minutes ago and never got them. "Who did you order drinks from?" "The Bus Boy." "You never should have ordered from him!" "Well, you disappeared 45 minutes ago and never returned, so we grabbed who we could." She looked up on the bar and there were our drinks (probably been sitting there for 20 minutes!!) She brought them to the table and friken disappeared again!! We had to grab another bus to get her to the table to drop off the check. I was mortified at the way we were treated in an "empty" dining room!!! Both of my brothers asked if this was the best we could do as far as restaurants.... We also blame the hostess, who had no idea who she seated and didn't tell the servers. Just an FYI, while we were there, the hostess sat a table of 8 and a table of 4. BOTH tables got up and left before they ordered their food announcing how annoyed they were at being ignored and the lack of service. Probably will not go back. THE KICKER: they double dipped us for the bill!! Ran our card on the 3rd and ran it again on the 5th!!! Still waiting for a call back (which I was promised yesterday) and they are holding money in our account hostage.....Terrible mess that should never have happened. I have been going to the cape my whole life and Sundancer's was always one of my favorite places to go every summer, until recently. Last week I decided to come here with my boyfriend and my friend and I can confidently say that none of us will ever step foot into this place again. To start, we walked in and asked the hostess if she had anything available outside. She said she didn't have anything inside or out and didn't even offer a wait time until I asked if we were able to wait for a table. When we were seated after only a few minutes (she made it seem like we would be waiting hours for a table) there were about 6 tables open on the deck. I used to host at a restaurant and understand some tables may be reserved, but almost all of the tables on the patio being reserved just didn't seem right. Our waiter was Sam and let's just say he is not cut out to work with people. He was rude and inattentive. I ordered a drink, gave him my ID, and after staring at it for too long he told me to "take off the stunners" so he could see my face, and then responded in a way that he didn't believe my ID was really me. Our food took forever to get to our table and when it finally did, my friend who ordered fried scallops was given baked scallops. She told the waiter and all he said was "oh" .. No offer to take it back to the kitchen to correct his mistake or anything. I ordered the baked fishermans platter, one of the scallops I had to spit out because it was bad, and the fish was way over cooked and hard on the edges. We had already waited so long for our food we couldn't have been bothered sending it back and waiting again. We ALWAYS leave a 20% tip even if we have slow service or not so good meals, but our waiter was just so plain rude he's lucky we even left 10%. The unprofessional staff at this restaurant really ruined our experience and we will certainly never be back. read more

Rude owner and wait staff. Earlier in the summer we sat on the deck with our dog (the wait staff actually brought the dog water and fawned all over her) and had an overpriced mediocre lunch. This past weekend we wanted a place we could boat to from Bass River and bring our dog. Although not completely satisfied with the first visit it did meet our needs and we decided on a return visit. After settling into seats on the deck (with our dog) the waitress told us the dog couldn't be there and offered to get the owner for us. The owner stuck his head out the door and yelled that the dog had to go as it was a health hazard. We politely told him that we had been there earlier in the summer and the dog was welcomed. He called us liars and that we had never been there before. The owner didn't even have the decency to come out and talk with us conversationally. I wonder if I can refute the $60 charge on my credit card from Sundancer's earlier in the summer since the rude owner denies I've ever been there before. read more
