This place is great! I had dinner here 3 times last week while on vacation in Dennis Port! It is casual with very reasonable prices and delicious food. The fried shrimp and fried scallop dinners were plentiful and so fresh and delicious and only cost $15.99? I sat on the back deck facing the Bass River twice and saw a gorgeous sunset each time. Service was excellent. My last night I chose to sit at the bar and have a drink and dinner ( fried scallops again which were lightly battered, sweet, and fresh). The bartender(Jen, I think) was friendly and quick. I chatted with some friendly customers on either side of me. At 9:30 a great band began to play for a middle aged crowd. This ended my vacation on a wonderful note! Wish there were a place like this in Connecticut....can't wait to go back! read more

I am truly disappointed at the service of this establishment. I came with a party of 10 and the hostess informed us that she would be able to accommodate us. Sound great right? Turns out, when we get to our "table" it was three separate tables and we were forced to sit separated from each other on 3 separate checks. The owner told us there was so way we could push the tables together because of a "safety hazard". Meanwhile, we look behind us to see 2 large parties with all of their tables pushed together... Very unfair if you ask me. It seemed they were discriminatory towards my party of 21 year olds. All of our food ended up coming out at completely different times and we couldn't even converse with the other tables in our party because we were so far apart. Not to mention the stuffed cohoags came out still half frozen and some friends who came to meet us waited 30 minutes to get a drink at the bar at 8:30 pm. To add to the magnitude of the situation, the men's bathroom had urine ALL OVER it. Disgusting. Could have been a good experience but they blew it. 0/10 recommend read more

I'm here with my family doing the yearly Cape Cod thing and decided to hit this place as we are staying pretty close. I should have checked the reviews before hand because I see a lot of reoccurring issues. I will say my party of six was seated quickly and with no issues. The hostess was very nice and accommodating. I have three children under 12, so I usually take advantage of the children's menu. What a disappointment the children's menus was 6.99 for a small portion of mac and cheese and it didn't even come with fries. The chicken fingers were so bland that even a six year old couldn't eat them. The waitress didn't bring our drinks until a few minutes after our appetizers arrived. Adult food was completely bland. The rib dinner was dry and seemed to have no sauce or marinate. The entertainment was nice and the atmosphere seemed good if we were there just for drinks. Definitely not a good place for a family with youngsters. read more

Sundancers is worth your while if you want two things: 1. Good bar food/seafood overlooking the Swan River 2. Entertainment by a local band/drinks/dancing after dinner If you can't sit in the outdoor section of the restaurant to enjoy the view, it's not necessary for you to go here over somewhere else. The food is definitely good, (I always enjoy the boneless buffalo wings) but it's not better than anything else that you'd find on the Cape. read more

We went to Sundancers on our off season Bachelorette night out. It was the last bar we went to for a reason! We had a big group of ladies and the vibe here fit us best. There was an awesome love band and the owner waived our cover because we were a bachelorette! The only thing we didn't enjoy were the swarming men who were too intoxicated to realize where they were never mind if we were trying to get away from them. There was a brawl toward the end of the night but we were already out of there so we werent too bothered by it. Overall we had a great time! Thank you! read more

This place is a complete dump. Been here on a few occasions over the years and the food is always a let down. I decided to give it another try since I heard they had a new owner. They have entertainment here on the weekends so I decided to come here on a Saturday night and see how it was. I started off with a Tito's and club soda, that was fine, it's my go-to. The vibe in there was a little weird but you never know what you're going to get on Cape Cod in the summer. After I finished my first drink, I decided to switch it up and try something different. I ordered a raspberry vodka with club soda and splash of fruit punch. The drink literally tasted like watered down juice. I asked the bartender(who I later found out is the new owner) if she would remake it or make me something else. She goes "what? Do you want me to add more fruit punch?" I said "no, I just want you to make me something else". Which then prompted her to grab the drink from my hand, angrily spill it out in the sink in front of me, storm over to the cash register, grab the money that I paid for my drink, put it on the counter in front of me and walk away. I'm not really sure how she would think this was an appropriate course of action but hey, it's her business. Though with that attitude, I'm sure it won't be for long! read more

I used to patronize Sundancers in the late 90's and early 00's when I ran a pro windsurfing event. We held our parties here and they were A-OK. I stopped going until May when I organized a mini reunion with my friends. The place was very odd (9:30 at night on a Saturday) with women dressed down in pajama bottoms, men wearing really dressed down shorts, grubby baseball caps and dirty tops. The smokers outside outnumbered those inside and the smell of vile smoke permeated the place. I left. Went last night at 6 for my high school reunion meet up. It was 6 PM and a local radio station was putting on some show. LOUD does not describe the atmosphere but I let it slide and had a blast catching up with friends. At 8, we moved outside to eat. MUCH better and a super sunset view. I had the steamers for 16.99 (a little pricey) but they were delicious and no grit. Friends didn't love their tacos. The servers are really sweet and dress up with little short short so definitely an eye candy spot for the guys. I chatted up with a lot of married men out for the night w/o their wife. Get the picture? Not my scene but that's how it was last night. I left at 9 before the PJ ladies showed up. read more

What a horrific experience... where to start: 1) Called in a dinner reservation, showed up and they say they have no record of it and we'll have to wait half an hour. 2) Waitress was friendly but completely ineffective. Put in our order incorrectly, couldn't keep check on how things were going (drinks, silverware required, etc). She also kept dropping dishes of food (including ours) on customers and on the way to/from the kitchen. 3) The food was consistently overcooked. Literally, they overcooked reheated potato skins, sirloin tips (ordered medium, came out well done), chicken (never had to use a steak knife to cut chicken before), clam strips had the consistency of burned chicken nuggets, buffalo salad and rubber chicken, etc. 4) The finishing touch was when at the time of the check the waitress informed us that the ice tea refills were not free. This isn't mentioned anywhere in the menu, nor did she tells us before hand. As she admitted, "I should have told you before but I didn't". The only good thing I can say about this place is that the view over the water is good. Given how bad the food and service is, I'd say skip dining here and just go enjoy the free view of the water nearby. read more

The only good part of our meal was the plain wings, the others were soggy. The iced tea tasted off. The steamers were so big and full of sand that you could choke on it. The nachos were awful...dry, cold, hard cheese- nothing flowed. The Kraft Mac n cheese was dry, like they cut back on the butter from the box directions. Gordon Ramsey, they need you. The clam chowder wasn't even good. When things were brought to the attention of the waitress there was no apology or compensation offered. However, The mud slide was good and the rib eye steak looked good at the next table. I have been eating weekly at this restaurant for over 20 years, the food was always consistent with many daily well priced specials. New owners have changed the menu and greatly increased the prices. I ordered a clam roll which was priced at $15.95, but the roll had 6 soggy fried clams. When I mentioned this to the waitress, she said let me bring this to our manager's attention. She then came back, and mentioned the size of 4oz, the manager never if made an appearance at our table. There are so many places that you can get a wonderful clam roll, we decided, as locals, to patronize this restaurant, unfortunately this experience was very disapointing. I can only hope that the new owners will make a go of this long standing local restaurant/bar, but the customer service must improve and the quality and size of the food portions should be addressed, along with the prices. The prices have greatly increased, scallop rolls were $9.95 last year and are priced at $14.95 this year, this is just one example. The prices overall were way out of line for this restaurant, when so many other places have better food and lower prices. On the positive, their clam chowder was wonderful! So if you want a local place with a view this is a good bet, but watch your drink and food prices. read more

I'm going to tell you all about my experience here. It took 16 minutes for some soups and a small salad. Then it took a total of 30 minutes for our meal to arrive. I got a French onion soup and there was no broth. I would give it a 4/10. Then I got the grilled chicken sandwich. It came with French fries that were closer to chips than fries. Worst fries I've ever had. 0/10. The sandwich was mediocre at best. The chicken didn't taste great and it was dry. 5/10. The prices were insane here. It cost $130 for 5 people who all got lite lunches. None of which were very good. I do not recommend going to this place. Stay away. read more

The waitress Kelly brings us fish saturated with melted cheese and bacon bits....if we wanted unhealthy fish we would have gotten fried ( as in fish n chips)! Yes the view is nice but the place right next door has 100% better food, entertainment, ambiance, service and a better view to boot. Lobsters are small, "chick" lobsters, so even though the price looks good, it's not. Prime rib is way too salty and blah. My husband and I like to stop in here after a day at the beach or after kayaking on the Bass River. It has a nice atmosphere for that and the bands that play in early evening are fun, but not so loud that you can't talk while eating. My husband had the baked seafood platter and while the scallops were good, the shrimp and cod were both way overcooked. I had the cajun shrimp wrap and it was tasty, but I ran out of shrimp well before I ran out of wrap and lettuce. Also, the drinks are pricey. We had 4 Fireball shots during our few hours there and when we got our bill, we realized for the price of our shots, we could have gotten 2 bottles of Fireball at the liquor store. We will go back, but will most likely stick to beer and sandwiches. read more

Love Sundancers for a nice relaxing waterfront dinner. The specials are fantastic and you cannot beat the prices. My fiance had the teriyaki steak tips and chicken, which he said was delicious. I had the shrimp, just fantastic. Their lobster specials looked good too. My cousin lives in Harwichport and showed me this restaurant, now I eat there whenever I'm on Cape. My family, friends and I all came here after our wedding rehearsal dinner for drinks and dancing on Saturday 9-10-16! I can't review the food because we didn't eat anything, but the drinks ( from what I remember!) were good and the band playing that night ( The Deloreans) were amazing!!! Visiting here from CT and I've got to say this restaurant was very good. I had the Alcapocco Burger which was awesome. My husband had the king sized lobster roll. Also very good.
