This was my first time visiting this place and I was so impressed. The service was incredible and fast. They were so friendly and patient. I had the Buffalo Tempeh Wrap and it was so delicious. It had so much favor and tasted really fresh. I loved the variety in the menu, there is so such to try! I can't wait to go back and this is probably one of my favorites now! read more

The all-sides sampler is a ton of food for a super reasonable price! Also their garlic mushroom burger was delicious.

Great little vegetarian/vegan cafe! Wonderful choices and a great staff! This was our first visit and we really enjoyed it! I had the veggie burger over a bed of lettuce and some black bean hummus as a side. My wife had the broccoli salad and my son had the carmalyzed apples. All great choices! We will visit again, if in the area! read more

Food is tasty and healthy, and a great value: no matter what you order, they make sure you plate (or your to go box) is overflowing. Staff is super nice and helpful. The only complaint is that they could use a second register at peak hours to help the line move faster. read more

Great tasting vegan food! The pad thai cold side is DELICIOUS. Whatever you get, ask for extra garlic aoli. The only downside is that it's really hot in there and if there's a line you're going to be waiting for a while. read more

The wife wants to go to Sunflower Café - Seriously?! What could any red, white and blue blooded 'merican manly man POSSIBLY find to eat at this place?! I mean - c'mon! NO MEAT?! Veggies without MEAT?! That's like Courier without Ives...cheeseburger with no cheese...or...what about Betty without Crocker...Channel 4 without Snowbird or tuna fish without maple syrup...don't judge...besides, isn't there a Logan's Roadhouse in that neighborhood? Y'all drop me off there, go eat your tofu and Chia seed stir-fry and seaweed sundae and I will walk over when I am finished with my 32 oz. Porterhouse...Sunflower?! Pffft...should be called Pansy! Wait...could you hold on just a minute...be right back! OK, my buddies had to leave - now I can say how I really feel! RUN! Don't walk to Sunflower Café! In all honesty this was a virgin dining experience for me. I have never been to a strictly vegan/vegetarian restaurant. Heck, for a long time I did not know the difference between the two. It was FANTASTIC! My wife has been on a "self-inflicted" - no, that doesn't sound quite right - how about a "voluntary" meatless diet for over a month. She sits there at most restaurants munching on a salad or a enjoying her veggie plate while across the table I have on my bib and I am elbow deep in a full rack of wet ribs and barbeque chicken combo with a side of pull pork and looking forward to my dessert of tourtiere (meat pie) - no whip. I like a good vegetable plate as much as the next guy - no, not him - the one in the red shirt, but for the most part meat has always been a staple in this former farm boy's life. We grew up eating our farm pets. True story - I made a pet out of a pig and named him Shorty. Well, he went missing. Side note - I actually pretty much grew up a part-time vegetarian. This was not by choice, we just could not afford to have meat with every meal - until one morning at breakfast. "Momma, Daddy - I haven't seen Shorty in quite a while - have you?" They look at each other - then back at me - then at each other again - then back at me - then slowly their eyes focus on the piece of sausage on my plate... My wife, daughter, son-in-law, ten month old grandson and I decide to meet here on Labor Day. To be perfectly honest - I suggested we go here some weeks back, but something came up (probably BOGO coupon for a Whopper) and we didn't make it. That morning my wife runs the idea by me and immediately I ask - "Are we out of bacon?" I'm kidding, I thought it was a great idea. The kids have been on a mostly vegetarian diet for quite some time now, so we ask them if they want to go. They had been before, loved it and so it was a no-brainer. My wife and I arrive at about 11:30 and the line is out the door. For the uninitiated this is the Blue Coast of the veggie restaurant world. They assemble your entrée or sandwich from the buffet on the other side of a protective glass - thank you Jesus! Don't like strangers breathing directly on my food or you know someone's ten year old has sneezed and not turned away... We get a table on the covered porch in the front - or was it in the back - no it was the front - wait. You enter the restaurant from the back - or is it the front? OK, the front of the restaurant is on the back and the back porch is on the front of the restaurant. Wait, where am I in? Anyway, we have a table SOMEWHERE outside at the restaurant and wait for the kids to arrive. We see their SUV pulling up out front - no wait - out back. No wait, they have a C-RV - Outback is a Subaru, they drive a Honda. By the time they arrive the line is out the door, across the deck, down the steps and into the parking lot. I sat in someone's Prius just to get out of the sun. You really should lock your car - and thanks for the mints... While in line, someone passes out menus and ask if there are any questions. My wife and I had decided already by perusing their website. I suggest you do the same - makes life easier for the people BEHIND you in line. They will let you sample anything on the buffet before buying - that's cool! My wife got a garlic mushroom veggie burger bowl over Quinoa. I got traditional barbeque bowl over rice. It also came with BBQ sauce, Asian slaw, and smoked southern collard greens or you could sub kale salad for the greens. Dang it - I am about to run out of space so I need to wrap this up. Other dishes, veggie burger with rice and BBQ sandwich with corn salad and rosemary potatoes and a bowl of Thai corn soup. There was NOTHING we did not LOVE! All kidding aside - this place is beyond AWESOME! Put that in your grill and smoke it! I'm curious - it is on Azalea Place and they name it Sunflower?! read more

Ate here for the first time today while traveling to Nashville and loved absolutely everything I ate. I had the burger "traditional sunflower way" and it was perfect. The sides were really really good as well..I had the sweet potato casserole and the pad Thai salad (you can get half sides so you don't have to pick). Next time I'm in Nashville, I will definitely be back! read more

Amazing gluten free, vegan food delivered to my meeting!! I got a wrap and a sweet potato casserole and a chick pea curry wrap.

Ok. This place is beyond amazing. If I could give you 10 stars I would. Nashville needs healthier options like yours. We were thankful to find you and appreciated the veggies. Literally so so good. You will not be disappointed. Trust me! read more

I never order veggie burgers when I'm out because I always get sick because the waitress doesn't know if the patty is made with eggs or cooked by real meat, I dunno but this is the first place I've had a veggie burger at in a while and it was so good and I didn't get sick at all! :)) I had the southwestern one I think it was called. They have an award system if you check in enough you get two free sides. I will be back for sure. I didn't take a pic of my food because I was so hungry and it was so good! Lol read more

Me and my sister went here because I've been looking for some good vegan/vegetarian restaurants so I would have to cook less. we got here and the menu had an easy layout and the food was VERY cheap. about $7 a entree. what a steal! the employees were very courteous and made you feel at home. food was fantastic, the mushroom wrap and the crab cakes are our fan favorites. good job to you guys, really putting good hospitality back into Nashville culture. :) read more

Everything on the menu is insanely delicious. You could serve the barbecue to your most meat loving friend and they wouldn't know the difference. The prices are very reasonable and the daily special is always delicious. Today I had the lasagna and it was not only delicious, but also piping hot which is hard to do when you serve off a line. Don't leave without trying the chocolate chip cookie dough. Omg!!!! read more

Amazing BBQ seitan wrap!! Also, they have local kombucha and the blueberry is so good I could drink it all day long.

Sunflower is a great place to go if you're looking to eat healthier or if you have friends with dietary restrictions or just if you love vegetables like I do. I never think about the fact that I'm eating vegetarian when I go to Sunflower, because I simply enjoy the food as food. It's fresh and flavorful and satisfying. The parking lot can be a bit small, but if you go early in the lunch rush you'll probably be fine. read more

This place should be re-named as 'Yum'flower cafe! Alright I got a little carried away. But in all seriousness they have some really delicious food. It is Ala Carte, as mentioned on their website but don't let that deter you from making a trip. Everything is fresh and hot. I would definitely try their chipotle hummus.. They give a giant portion of hummus as a side! If the sun is shining on the sunflower they might even serve oatmeal cookies on that day which are delicious. Apart from that, just mix and match your options. Be a food artist and paint your plate with awesomeness as they have painted the outside of their facility (with sunflowers of course). Oh and I am taking off a star because I felt maybe the service and coffee could have been slightly better ( they were decent nonetheless). Munch! Munch! read more

I started an elimination diet a month ago to help with my endometriosis. So no dairy, gluten, refined sugar or to much caffeine. My co-worker who is vegan offered to pick us up lunch from here. I ordered the enchiladas, side salad and cookie dough mouse. Man am I going to be back. I don't miss anything and the tastes are so spot on traditional foods. read more

I used to love Sunflower Cafe, and even wrote a previous five-star review for it. It still continues to be one of the few vegan restaurants in Nashville, but lately I've found myself skipping over Sunflower for other restaurants. The food isn't like it used to be. Most of the time, the food is dry and cold. The vegan enchilada is especially bad - the corn tortillas seem uncooked and powdery. The vegan BBQ tofu/seitan is really bland and absolutely needs the additional BBQ sauce (which isn't standard BBQ sauce either, not sure what it is). The food offerings don't change very often, usually the same things with one rotating dish. I'd like to see more variety in the menu. Maybe try new vegan dishes, such as the Impossible burger, vegan hot "chicken," Caribbean jerk dishes, Ethiopian food, or some vegan Indian/Thai curries. More vegan desserts might be a plus as well. The vegan no-bake cookies aren't the greatest. The parking lot continues to be in horrid shape, I feel like you need a moon lander to drive on it. Also, other businesses' customers are using Sunflower's lot. Even if Sunflower isn't busy, the lot is still mostly full. At lunch and dinner rush hours, it's hard to get in and out of the lot, assuming there are any open spots at all. read more
