Located next to one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants, I usually stop by both places in a single trip. If you can't make it to a Brooklyn or a Chinatown bakery, Sunmerry is a good option. Prices are a bit higher but the buns are just as buttery and good. I had a corn bun, which I hadn't had in forever, so it tasted extra good. Ohhhh this place is dangerous! That is, deliciously dangerous! Stopped by today thanks to a Yelp Elite event, and I don't even have the right words for how amazing the good are. First, the shop is in a mini shopping center, with metered parking all around, so there is always parking somewhere. Second, the employees in the store are really nice, willing to answer any questions. Third, SO. MANY. DELICIOUS. CHOOSES. IN. BAKED. GOODS!!!! I had a hard time choosing, as it all looked mouth watering. You can tell without even touching or eating it, that it is fluffy, light, and would hit the spot, and when I did, literally I couldn't stop myself. STRONGLY recommend trying the goods here, most definitely will not be disappointed. I used to go to the Sunmerry bakery in Linwood Plaza before they relocated here. It's a smaller location now but they have the same amount of bakery items as before. It's a Taiwanese bakery with pretty good pastries and bread. My favorite item is the matcha croissant. It's large, fluffy, and has almonds. I also like their tarts and cream pastries as well. They have pretty good drinks as well, I always enjoy their matcha latte. The prices were decent and the service was friendly. I'll definitely come back to try their cakes. read more

The price got a bit more expensive but not so bad. They have limited varieties of bread and pastries but a good selection of cakes. If I have a need to swing by a bakery, Sunmerry Bakery is one of my preferred locations. Like many Asian bakeries, it provides baked goods that satisfy both savory and sweet food desires. Not only does it offer pastries good for coffee and dessert, but they also have options that can be eaten as an entree for a quick lunch or dinner option as well. Their savory options aren't too heavy, and their sweet options aren't too sugary and their light as well. Unfortunately if you go "too late" (late is used loosely because even sometimes early afternoons they're sold out) they've already run out of some selections for the day, and most of their parking is meter only (the building they are in does have a tiny free parking garage in the basement though if you're lucky enough to snag a spot). The bakery is self service (you grab a tray and place what you want onto it and pay at the counter) and the ambiance of the location isn't meant for hanging out, but they do offer a few spots to sit indoors and outdoors. read more

While this bakery is located on a very busy street, there is some street parking and there are parking lots in the back. Some places are worth the travel and I'd put sunmerry on that list. Come on a nice day and you can enjoy some of the seating outside, but there is also some seating inside. They recently started selling Tiger Sugar Bubble Teas! The staff here is super friendly and their packaging is very classy. The baked goods here are really good. Their croissants are huge and fluffy. Imagine my excitement when Sunmerry bakery opened their newest location in Fort Lee, NJ! This bakery is well known in Japan and Taiwan, and specializes in making traditional Asian pastries and desserts. I enjoyed the Green Tea Croissant and Tuna Roll paired with their Tiger milk coffee with boba. OH MY GOODNESS, I could drink their Tiger milk coffee with boba everyday--it was perfectly sweetened and reminded me of the flavors of a Frappuccino but creamier and without the blended ice. Both the Green Tea Croissant and Tuna Roll were very flakey with soft lightly buttery centers. I really enjoyed how all their baked goods are individually packaged, making them very sanitary and perfect to have to-go and/or to share with others. I also tried the Portuguese Egg Tarts, Coffee Brioche, Chicken Cheese Bun, and Matcha Oreo Chiffon Cake and none of them disappointed. My favorite, and slightly biased choice, would be the Portuguese Egg Tarts (I grew up with these as one of my favorite Asian pastries in NYC). Would recommend! read more

Been coming here for a few years now this is my families go to place to get birthday cakes. My favorite cake is the mango mouse cake. The black Forrest and strawberry cake is really good too. Came in today for the Yelp elite event. I was able to get a variety of pastries. As well as a bubba iced coffee. The ice coffee was really good and the tapioca was cooked perfectly not to hard and not too soft. We got the chicken and cheese bread really tasty very filling and we also got the cheese and bacon bread. Out of the two the cheese and bacon was more flavorful and lighter. Would definitely get it again. We tried the Nutella roll and wow it did not disappoint. We also tried the Nutella bread. It was soooo good with so much Nutella inside.
