Great place for breakfast or dinner. We use it when going to our from the airport as it is convenient.

We ordered Mark's Big Breakfast, I think it was called. Pancakes, hash browns, toast, sausage, bacon, eggs. Plus, strawberry lemonade. For the amount of food, minus Door Dash and the City of Tucson gouging us mightily, it was a good price. Good food. It's going to take some time to finish it. Probably should have ordered just the one breakfast for the both of us! As it is, it is going to be a big dinner, too! And/or maybe breakfast for tomorrow. The food was not so great that I would rave about it, but, you know ... there is only so much you can do with such things. I will say that the eggs were cooked just the right amount. What really got me and makes me think I will be ordering from them again is that this was the most thoughtfully packed order I have ever seen. They took each breakfast and put that full breakfast in a separate bag with its own butter and syrup, and a package of utensils with a napkin and some pepper, I believe it was. And, the pancakes were in a separate container from the rest, with the rest being rather artfully set so as to not get too jumbled during transport. Most places we order from, we are lucky if the food isn't just slopped in with bits running into each other, where it shows up looking like they pulled it out of the trash or something. So, yeah ... Again I'm back to an apples-to-apples comparison with this cute little ma-and-pa sort of breakfast/lunch place. Sunny Daze is not formal french cuisine. It's not 5 star culinary art. It's a simple, local comfort food joint... not fancy, but definitely friendly. I frequented Sunny's often when I was at a previous employer and this was a close place for lunch. I'm a big fan of breakfast at any meal, and I LOVE that I could order pancakes, biscuits, whatever for lunch. The food is homemade, and tasty. Not as good a mom makes, but in the ballpark (maybe just the outfield). But it's made with some love... and maybe lots of oil, and both of those make it good. The decor is "campy beach house", if there ever was such a thing! There's even outdoor seating, if you're looking to enjoy a since sunny day(ze). If you go with a friend, ask for a basket to play checkers! All the tables have checker's boards built it, and baskets are around. Stopped in again during my visit to the old Pueblo. And received the usual stellar service. It's like coming home again.

Went for breakfast and got the recommended California omelet with hash browns. Food was pretty greasy and the bacon was mixed with the egg instead of being inside the omelet. Egg was over cooked a bit. Avocado was good however. Service was good I was just hoping for some better quality breakfast. **update** I must say that I was impressed that the owner personally contacted me and was interested in the date and time that I went in so they can check into it. Also offered me to come back again. Also did explain the way that the omelet is made. That's awesome and I will give it another try soon! read more

Loved the checker board! Better than surfing FB! Chorizo & eggs were just the right spicy! Loved loved the flour tortillas! And that cinnamon roll combo platter - crazy tummy!! Sunny Daze is the best breakfast in town. This family operation makes you feel welcomed and comfortable. We try to go at least 3 times a month. They have a great breakfast, lunch and some evenings a dinner menu as well. The omelets are phenomenal and always perfectly cooked. The hash browns are crisp, yet have a creamy/butter taste. The pancakes are mouth watering as are the biscuits & gravy. As perfect as the food and quick service is, the quaint restaurant has brought a wonderful beach/tropical theme to the desert with its signature mascot.....The pink Flamingo. Me & my wife discovered sunny daze cafe years ago & it has become one of my favorite restaurants in town. Never had a bad meal & their menu is huge! Breakfast is served all day & their cinnamon rolls are bomb! Their spicy chicken sammich is amazing, I could go on & on about the food but y'all have to experience it for yourself. The service is excellent,fast & friendly. Even though my wife isn't with us anymore me & my son go once or twice a month for awesome food & sunny puffs, can't get enough of those yummy in da tummy hot puffy balls of goodness!! I love going to family owned and local restaurants. It just gives you a warm fuzzy when you support them. I was craving a chorizo and egg so I asked if I can get it in a burrito. Coffee is good. Service is good. Food wasn't that good. We ordered the chicken and waffles and the chicken fried steak breakfast. Both the CFS and the chicken with the waffles were fried in the same batter in the same old tasting oil. CFS should be skillet fried and breaded or coated in flour, not battered. Update: They did take the cost of the chicken and waffles off of our bill after we pointed out that the oil tasted old and my husband said the chicken tasted "off". So I've added a star (3 instead of 2). read more

The food here is fresh and the donut holes are brought to the table straight from the fryer- so if you are trying to avoid sugar this will really be challenging. If negative stars was an option that's what I would rate my experience this morning. I've been here many times with no problems, actually quite enjoyed the restaurants atmosphere and the powdered donuts they give you as a sample. However, this morning was a vastly different experience. We were greeted kindly and sat quickly, but by a rude waitress. Got our drinks and had to wait quite some time for another waitress to come and take our order (although at this time there were only a few tables occupied) We were chatting waiting for our food to arrive when we noticed there was not 1 but 4 other tables that received their meals before ours and they came in quite some time after we did. We asked the waitress about this and she said 'she'll check with the kitchen' well she didnt. In fact that was just the first of several times she blew off our question. Overall we were quite unhappy with our experience and wont ne returning. read more

Hey Mark ! I appreciate the response back ! We went with a party of 7 so there was multiple meals ordered . I specifically ordered quevos rancheros wife and mother in law got omelettes (don't remember which ones exactly) and my three kids had French toast . I don't remember what the last person had but I do remember my kids were the only ones that were happy with there meals . Both omelettes and quevos rancheros had NO salt on any of it . When I let my waitress know she stated that you guys don't add salt to ANY of your food because people with health related issues can have a choice to add or not . Which is great and I get the reasoning behind it but I like MY food with atleast a little salt for flavor . Your waitresses and staff were great nothing against them at all . I just rather take my business else where . read more

Service was great. We went in with a large party (18 people) and the staff was very patient and well organized. They didn't mind doing separate checks. And we didn't wait long for the food at all. The only down fall is the Unstoppable sandwich could use some changes. It is served on a cheddar Texas toast. The bread was falling apart and it couldn't hold the meat. My only recommendation is to find a sturdier bread, like a cheddar roll. read more

This place was awesome! Had the boneless sirloin and it was tender and perfectly cooked. My husband had the bacon cheeseburger and said it was very good. The coleslaw was great and fries were good too. The waitress was very friendly and our tea glass did not get empty. The decor of this restaurant was totally cute and fun. Tried this place for the first time today. I had the pancakes and they were tasty and the portion was large. My wife had an omelette and while tasty she said it was somewhat overcooked. However she said she should have asked for it to be cooked the way she preferred. Service was prompt and the server pleasant. One complaint i have is that we had to search down our server for a coffee refill. That should be offered before i have to ask for it. All in all though a nice place and we will return. read more
