I was disappointed with my experience at Sunny's in Chandler. The restaurant itself was clean, but unfortunately, the service was substandard. Three of our breakfast orders came out incorrectly, which was frustrating. The water was also extremely unpleasant and, in my opinion, tasted so bad that it was difficult to drink. The owner really should consider investing in a proper water filtration system. On top of that, the prices felt far too high for the quality of the food and level of service we received. I was also surprised to see an 18% mandatory gratuity applied after tax to tables of five or more. Overall, I expected more for the price. There are plenty of other places where you can get a better experience, a more updated atmosphere, and a stronger sense of pride in ownership. 7/25/26: good food, our server (Amelia) was super friendly & on top of things, and the area is well laid out -- plenty of parking. The biscuit was fluffy, the serving size was substantial. My only critique is that when I ordered home fries I got hashbrowns. We all chuckled after I asked Amelia "wtf?" because she explained that everyone gets confused when she drops off their plate, expecting fries & getting hash. Hubby & I had breakfast here yesterday. We don't go out to breakfast often, but when we do, this is our place to go. Sunny's is 1of 2 restaurants we have found here in AZ that the food is always consistently good & the same. We both got our usual. We get iced teas. Hubby gets Tamales For Breakfast with the eggs scrambled. I got the Eggs & Such with eggs over medium, hash & sourdough toast. Hubby said his food was excellent as usual. The tamales are so flavorful as well as the sauce. My eggs were closer to medium, but I expect that. I haven found a restaurant that makes them correctly. Everything is so good. The only reason for 4 stars is this is the first time we haven't had great service. Our server wasn't on point, which is very unusual for this place. Our drinks reminded empty for a while. We had to wait on the check. Then he forgot the togo boxes & we had to wait again. We won't let this stop us from coming back. Well, it's been about a year since we're here. Last time sat at the bar again. Service is awesome. They're right there for everything. Coffee was filled. Water was filled always checking on us. We arrive on a Saturday morning and were greeted and seated immediately. I relaxed vibe and simple Americana decor. We decided to try the farmers skillet and steak and eggs. The food was tasty although two mis-steps. One, my steak was overcooked as I ordered medium rare and was cooked medium. Two, the farmers skillet contained a small amount of cheese and we ordered it with no cheese. It seems they started adding cheese and then noticed it was order no cheese. We ordered a mimosa flight which I felt was the best deal if u each want 2 mimosas. Coffee was tasty as well! My partner has the chicken fried steak which he gave 5 s. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs. It was a lot of food and the food was good. The eggs could use a little seasoning but nothing I couldn't fix myself. My second visit here and I am looking forward to something yummy. Kinda busy this morning but thats cuz we arrived later than I would prefer. This is the breakfast crowd hour so there was a wait. Hostess prepared to seat us and was kind enough to offer to dispose of my coffee. Uh, no you cannot dispose of my drink. So shuffled that out to the car to finish later. Apparently they enforce 'no outside drinks'. On this occasion I started with a Cape Cod beverage. A little juice to preface a hearty breakfast that followed some exhausting yardwork and sun overexposure of AZ in June. I ordered the New Mexico Omelette and my dining companion ordered the Meat Lovers breakfast. This place seems to have ample seating and a bonus counter area. Oh, can't forget there is patio seating as well AND well behaved pets are allowed on patio. It's not overly or unnaturally bright in here. The entrance area is dim and seating behind hostess is dimmed by the shades along the South facing windows. The winter time lighting does not really change the lighting. Meals are substantial. Prices quite reasonable. Food is high quality. Overall our experience has been very positive every time we've dined here and well received by our guests too. read more

We were seated pretty quickly for our party of 5 people and we appreciate it was a table for everyone to sit comfortably, good breakfast selection and that's appreciated with different tastes and diets. The atmosphere was average and not loud and not quiet either, we went here on a Saturday around 11:30am and the place was pretty full. Our waitress was attentive and we didn't have to ask for anything twice, she was very nice (thank you) me and my Mom are currently visiting Chandler from Las Vegas since my Brother recently moved here and we absolutely love it here and she is already looking at possibly moving here in a year or 2 since it's not as busy as Vegas. I only have 4 stars instead of 5 because tbh my Cowboy scramble was a bit bland, I had to put ketchup on it to give it some flavor but, that's my only complaint. read more

7/20/25. Shaved Ribeye Eggs Benedict with house fries. DELICIOUS!! The service was prompt and nice. The ambience is very busy. But friendly.

The decor and inside is clean and had a modern look for a breakfast spot. The food was not flavorful. I ordered the fajita skillet and the chicken was very dry, almost tough. The potatoes soaked up any moisture from the dish creating an unpleasant mouthfeel of dry, chewy food. The skillet needed a heavy amount of hot sauce to provide flavor and much needed moisture. The salsa and sour cream did not come with the food, more on that next, but these did little to improve the overall taste. The skillet came with a biscuit, again very dry, and needed all the butter and jelly to be enjoyable. The service was not good. After we ordered, the food came out, but we did not have any silverware. We looked around for awhile for our server, but could not find them, so I went to the host stand to ask for silverware. The fajita skillet comes with salsa and sour cream, however I did not get those on the plate. I waited more for the server, though after about 10 minutes (5 minutes spent waiting to get silverware that I eventually got on my own, and then another 5 minutes waiting to ask the server for the salsa and sour cream), I went back to the host stand and asked another server if they could help. Our server did not come check on the table after receiving our food until nearly 15 minutes later. By this point, we were nearly done eating and I asked for the check assuming if I didn't we would wait awhile. I will give the server some credit, and a key reason for the two instead of one star, they had another table with two elderly women and the server gave them excellent service. The server engaged in small talk with them, answered all their questions, and was very kind and patient with them. Again, credit where credit is due. The service made the overall experience poor, the food did nothing to make me want to come back, and finally the price for breakfast food was incredibly too high. Most entrees started around $17. Bring your furbsbies and go have breakfast! I suggest going before it gets too hot because, although there are fans on the patio, I didn't notice any mist components. The location is hidden but not hidden if that makes sense! You wouldn't even know it was here as mentioned before but I've gone here a few times and still am impressed! The service has improved meaning that the staff on board were noting but amazing! They give you so much for for the price so the portions are very nice!!! I had the French toast (which I normally never really get from any restaurant) and extra bacon. When my meal was being delivered to our table, I did my food dance! If you know, you know! I had the Garden Omlet with home fries and wheat toast. However, as shown in the picture, home fries were not included with the omelet. It was pretty disappointing especially since it also shows on the receipt home fries. The omelet was good with tons of veggies, although it did need some salt. I also had some French Toast which was simple yet delicious and soft. I'm not a sweet breakfast person, but the French Toast was yummy. Super friendly service, and I love what they've done with the interior. The hand written display is lovely and the seating was very comfortable. We stopped in for breakfast and I got the signature waffles- wow they did not disappoint! The fruit was very fresh, and the waffles are clearly something they do best. Did I mention the coffee? Long time Chandler resident, first time at Sunny's although I have seen a thousand times, never tried it before. I thought it's been here for forever so it must be pretty good. Ambiance is bare bones both inside and in the patio. furnishings old and nothing special at all. sometimes that is charming, but not in this case... it's just outdated. nothing offensive, just super boring and old. The restaurant probably seats 100 25 people and I would estimate on this Saturday morning at about 1030. There were maybe 10 to 12 people in the restaurant. It was definitely not busy. The server was pleasant, but again nothing special in the way of service. I overtipped because I always do as an omage to my own days as a hard working server back in college. I appreciate the difficult job they do. I order the 2 egg breakfast, two eggs over easy, turkey, sausage, hashbrowns, English muffin. Turkey sausage was very dry and extremely dense, the English muffin was a little on the hard side and had way too much butter on it liking, the "" home fries, more commonly known as hashbrowns were a five on the scale of one to 10 but... I got a rotten egg over easy. Horrible and ruined me for the day! The eggs had a strange smell to begin with, as though they had been cooked in a rancid oil. One egg was absolutely rotten. Not only did it taste horrific, but it smelled horrific. This was not to be confused with the oil, but in addition to. When I told the server she was mildly apologetic, my stomach by now was so upset that I ordered a pancake to see if I could settle it down. The pancake took at least 15 minutes. It also tasted very strange, the taste was so affected by, I believe vanilla extract, that you couldn't taste pancake! It tasted more like cake. I feel like I'm starting to whine, which is completely unintended. Really just trying to get an honest opinion of my experience. But I think I can wind this up now by just saying I won't be returning to . I'm surprised that with what I found there they've been as many years as they have, maybe I'm just too particular? They say at Sunny's that they treat you like family. Well if you come from a dysfunctional family, then it's true. There are a couple of issues here that other yelpers have noted, that the owner when responds says the usual "sorry about your experience and blah blah." I can say this is a systemic problem. Food time My spouse had type of eggs Benedict dish, which she enjoyed, but wasn't a wow. I had create your own skillet which I went with egg whites (they charge an extra buck), green chili, mushrooms and tomatoes. They dish comes with err as part of it, homestyle potatoes and green peppers and onions. I dumped the onions. I also got a bagel on the side, toasted and buttered. The dish was quite good and very filling, but it did suffer two minuses. First, there were no green chilies in the dish. Not one. It said on the check green chilies, but there were zero. Second that bagel. I don't know where they get their bagels from, but it tasted as though it comes from the supermarket fridge area. Wow, horrible. I ate half, gave the rest to my dogs. Plus, plain the only option? The good news is the server charged us only an extra $1, not the listed price of 3.29. The Coffee was good, but this is 2022 and you have ZERO milk alternatives. No soy. No almond milk. No oat milk. I was shocked. You can go to a lot of places that are not in large metros and find at least almond milk. Service - Family members bring dysfunctional to your meal. Two of these family members must have left their happy faces at their homes. The server, seemed irritated that we wanted to order food. Personable this was not. I will call her your angry sister who just learned you ratted on her for not getting you at school, so she displays irritance. Getting her to come back and check on us, the server, not your sister, was impossible. The only time we received happiness was near the end of the meal. A smile, positive, unsure where that person was at the beginning. The person who delivered the food was just not happy. Seriously I am unsure if they know they work in a customer service business. Sourpuss would be the right word. We got happy person greeter of this family. Two less than enthralled female siblings, plus a third, im betting a cousin, because this one smiled and got us a refill. Has to be 3rd cousin on the side of one parent. Here's my recommendation. Go for the food. And if your family is dysfunctional, you are in luck... So is this one. read more

If I lived near by I would be here all the time. My friend and I decided to meet up with her kiddo and their menu looked child friendly. It most certainly was and we loved everything we ordered. Even the 3 year old ate all her pancakes. I ordered the California Chicken Club Skillet and one Pancake with chocolate chips, which was a delightful option. I devoured it.
