This is my favorite sushi place. The food and service is always on point. I love this place.

I'm a fan of Sunny's, and gratefully I've been blessed with a husband who takes me out for sushi even though he can't stand it. For those who aren't a fan...they have a good chicken fried rice. I even tried my hand of replicating it at home! I've been to another location, but this one is closer and I like it better. Win! It's a little larger (not as tight) and cleaner. They were busy on the Friday night we dropped in, so we sat at the bar, but there's some decent booth seating. A college game happened to be on, so it ended up being perfect for us. Go Ducks! While we there we saw many to-go orders being picked up which let's you know people know what's up. I can attest to the fact that their seafood is very fresh! When looking at the menu I'm always torn on which sushi to get. Can't go wrong with any. This time I went with the Mexican Orgasm roll. It wasn't bad, but the party of flavors was hmm...untraditional which I don't think I really wanted. Nonetheless, no regrets! Try them.

As far as sushi goes, there are honestly more options than you'd think out here in the old western town of El Paso. This one, is one of the better ones. Yes, everywhere you go to eat sushi, assuming because of the products required to make it and make it fresh, is going to be a bit on the expensive side, and this place is no different. It is a little more expensive than I like, however, I love sushi and and as long as I can have quality sushi, I'm willing to pay what's wrong the cost. No, this is not super authentic Japanese sushi. I say that, because I lived in Japan for nearly a decade. However, I still love this place, and if you've never really lived in Japan, then it's a moot point, and you'll enjoy this place just the same. The quality is pretty good, to be honest. The products are always fresh. Keep in mind, El Paso is a land locked city in the middle of the west Texas desert, surrounded by sand, and Mexico. And we aren't exactly catching our fresh salmon for the nigiri in the Rio Grande, so for where we are, I'm rather impressed with the freshness and quality. As most sushi places are here, these rolls are more suited for the westerns palate. And you'll find all kinds of creative rolls with creative ingredients that they'd turn their noses up at in Japan, but hey, if it works it works, and this place works. They have a large menu as well. With many Japanese dishes as well as Korean dishes. Also common here in El Paso. Most Japanese places here, or sushi places, also have a large selection of Korean specific dishes. Which is fine, more to choose from! This is one of (I believe) 3 Sunnys Sushi locations in town. And by far the nicest (decor) and newest one. It's definitely worth visiting, and I do often (pre covid).

When I'm visiting El Paso and after a few days have Mexican food coming out of my ears because it's so delicious I like to switch it up and go to Sunny's Sushi ! I specifically like the location near Montana on the far east side. It usually has the best service and COLDEST beers in the west , of Texas that is . No joke the beer glasses come out practically frozen as if the cup is actually made of ice. This makes those hot desert days fade away while your Kirin Ichiban ( Japanese beer) just seems to go down so much smoother than in a warm mug you'd get somewhere else . The food is always really good of course and I definitely have some favorites. For an appetizer the tempura shrimp and spicy edamame are what you want sharing is caring but you might not want to share after your first bite . As far as rolls go the Mexican Orgasm roll or Lion King Roll are my most favorite. For the simple roll goers the Crunch Shrimp Roll and Caterpillar Roll hit the spot. Of course they have deep fried rolls like the Chefs special or Golden California Roll but those are really heavy and a great pick if you just want to fill up on one roll and not spend a lot . Sunny's also has great kids selections including noodles and chicken, fried rice and protein of choice or an awesome bento box that my son loves to get with teriyaki chicken ! There are plenty of options other than just nigiri or rolls . They have a lot to choose from incase you have a picky eater who's not into sushi so don't be afraid to bring someone to try something new . El Paso is full of culture and tons of great food you just have to know where to start . Put them tacos down and get down here !!!

What a great place. First my server, was very attentive, he kept coming back making sure we were ok. And made my experience very enjoyable. The ambience and the place is very mellow, perfect for a first date, or simply a lunch, really like the decoration on the tables with the pink napkins! Last but never least the food!! What a great flavor, I order the chicken karage, the giozas, the crab meat rolls for appetizers and for rolls got the golden cali, shrimp tempura and the crump shrimp roll great flavor very well plate. Very delicious!!! Safe to say to this place I'm coming back at least twice a month!

Fried Gyoza, Miso Soup and Korean pickled vegetable. So tasty!

I ate here today and enjoyed it very much. I was greeted immediately by several staff and promptly seated at the sushi bar. The server was polite and and attentive. I enjoyed miso soup, Korean pickled zucchini slices, fried gyoza and sushi. All of it was incredibly tasty. The restaurant was super comfortable and clean. This will be a regular stop for me when I return to El Paso. Thank you!

We went yesterday and though the food was decent. My whole family got sick after eating some chicken noodles. The Kimchi is definitely my favorite part of this place and that never disappoints but idk if I'll be going back because like I said, we we're all sick after.

SUPERB FOOD + SERVICE + AMBIENCE. The server Sebastian was fantastic in providing a great experience & the food was delicious!

My fav sushi spot on the far Eastside, why cause I live a block away. Lol. It's good too. Dropped in for lunch with some coworkers, we all jived for sushi and Im always in for my go to. So I ordered the Mexican orgasm.. great title and great taste. The lunch special came with the roll and half a California roll. As always so flavorful and goes down smooth. Took it all down like a champ. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't full. Always a pleasure coming to Sunnis!

My wife had frequented the Viscount locale and said it was very good so we wanted sushi and since this new location is closer to home we came here. We ordered 4 rolls; Spider, Tiger, Beauty and the Beast and Lobster Tail. They start you off with miso soup which was delicious and flavorful and some cucumber kimchi. All the sushi was delicious with the Beauty and the Beast and the Lobster Tail being spicy and the Spider and Tiger being very yummy. The only negative was that both the Lobster and the Tiger were very loose and came undone when you eventually got them with your chop sticks so hence the 4star review. Our waiter was attentive but not overbearing which we appreciated and my wife did state the place is modern, trendy, hip and young and vibrant so we both fit in just right We shall return to try different rolls but for now try it, you'll be glad you did.

The service was so great the waiter was so nice and refilled our drinks without us having to ask and recommended his faves which did not disappoint at all all the food came out so fast !!! & the place inside is decorated so pretty. My new favorite sushi place in El Paso

This location was tucked into a small strip mall, and looks kind of cramped. Walking in the waiting area we noticed a small area, and this place is a tad out dated. Peeling tint on the windows, old carpet, and in this place is in need of some TLC. Or a good coat of paint and a scrub. Five of us were seated after a small wait with a family of 3. After a long wait, our waiter Sebastian finally showed up and took our drink order. Various drinks ordered around the table, some ordering alcoholic beverages. I kept it simple and ordered a Coke. After another long wait, he was back with our drinks. Not wanting to wait another long period before he came back we wanted to order our food. Thankfully the guest family was ready. For me, soup for the appetizer, and the ribeye for dinner. Oddly enough, ribeye is hard to find at hibachi. Hoping it was going to be good. After a long wait, Sebastian brought our soup and salads to the table. I tried the soup, not a fan. Something about it just tasted odd. I was hoping for more of an onion-y taste, but was not getting that. To each their own... I just pushed it to the edge of the table next to my empty drink. I was hoping Sebastian took notice of the empty drink. After a reasonable wait time, our chef wheeled his cart with our food over, and confirmed our orders. Everyone's drinks were empty, so we were hoping Sebastian would be back soon. The chef, a white dude, attempted to speak Spanish, and distributed the ginger sauce and some sort of hot sauce of some sort. I was surprised there was no yum yum sauce. The chef got right to cooking, still giving Spanish lessons. Nice chef, just a bit odd. When you go to Disneyland you expect to see Mickey Mouse, not Chuck-e-Cheese. Same thing going to a hibachi. Impress me with Japanese, not Spanish. He gave us the basic hibachi routine of the volcano, train, and catch the egg game. Where's Sebastian? The Dad of our guests was annoyed his beer bottle was empty. Time to send a search and rescue for Sebastian. The chef saw we were annoyed, so he flagged down a young lady walking by and inquired about Sebastian. She stepped in and was our hero. Drinks flowed, and order was restored. Guest Dad got his beer, and things were better. My colleague inquired about yum yum sauce. Turns out, they had it, they just do not give it out freely. Said nice waitress came back quick with the yum yum sauce. The chef distributed rice. It was delicious. When it was time for the steak, it was cooked properly to my liking and was good. I see why hibachi restaurants do not serve ribeyes and stick with New York strips. Mine was a bit fatty, but lacked flavor. The chef did not do a very good job seasoning it and putting enough butter on it. It was not bad, but next time I'll go with the strip. That was 100% on me because I know ribeyes are a fatty cut. Abracadabra!! Sebastian reappeared. Not quite sure what happened, but he returned. Our drinks still stayed empty, but it was nice to see he was still alive. Our meal was finished, time for the check. Sebastian, might not keep your drinks filled quickly, but he was quick with the check. Looking at the bill, we were hit with an automatic gratuity. Once Sebastian reappeared, we asked him why we had to pay this, and he told us the restaurant had a 5 party gratuity rule. Considering the fact the service sucked, getting robbed on top of horrible service was an insult. Truth be told, I think the chef gave Sebastian a heads up that he was not getting a tip based on his performance, so he stuck it to us. Five is just an odd number to charge, I mean rob, gratuity from. We paid our bill and left. Do I recommend this place? Hmmm... Hard to say. Some things I can look past. Like the bad service, the odd chef, or the run down appearance. I can say the fried rice was absolutely delicious and my entree was pretty tasty. I might give it another try when I return to El Paso, but it won't be my first stop. This was easily a 4 star visit. But the bad service, and the cowardice act of robbing us for an undeserved tip knocked it down a peg. Until next time.....

My husband is a fan of hibachi style cuisine so we looked up a spot near our home and Koze was the first to pop up! They also had good reviews so we were all for it. When we first arrived the hostess asked if we wanted to be seated at the grill (for show) or the dining room. Since my husband does like watching the cook do his thing, we opted to wait the 15-20 minutes for a grill to become available. Next time we will definitely make note to call ahead and make a reservation though! Once we were seated we looked over the menu to see our options. I will say that the service at Koze was a bit lacking. Our waitress took quite a while to come around for our drink order, main course and then at the end of the evening for us to pay our bill. I'm not sure if she was serving a lot of other tables for the night but that was just our experience. It would have been nice if she came around more so we weren't looking for her. My husbands parents got the shrimp and scallop meal to split, my husband ordered the chicken and scallops. I, however, decided to try their sushi - so I got the California roll and the BBQ salmon roll. Once the chef came around to start cooking (which took quite a while) he started the show. I will also note that there was a bit of a language barrier between us and the chef. He tried asking us questions, such as if we were celebrating a birthday, but it was very hard for us to understand what he was saying. We could also tell he was a bit new at the job because certain "tricks" he'd mess up on or had to try a couple times before he got it right. For the food, I will say that I did enjoy my sushi. Both rolls were delicious! My husband ate mostly the protein on his plate. They give a huge portion of fried rice for the main courses, it's definitely enough for two people. I believe his parents said they thought the meal was good as well. I think it came down to the service we received which kind of left a bad impression. The food was good it was just the lack of service that left me wanting more. I know there are other hibachi restaurants in El Paso. I will probably try those with my husband. I wouldn't mind coming back to Koze, I understand maybe they were just having a bad day. But I would also try other places.

We used to be in and out of here in under an hour each time we would come. Unfortunately, the last 3 or 4 times we have been here have been AWFUL experiences. Nothing could compare to tonight... we were sat quickly, our appetizers came in a decent-ish amount of time. Shortly after finishing, we order 2 rolls each... we sat and waited for these rolls for over an HOUR!! It was insanity and I was so over it. Not once did the waiter come around to explain the delay. Our rolls finally come and 3/4 rolls are wrong. We come often, I know what I like and I know what my favorite rolls look like. My husband had to get up and hunt our waiter down to let him know. I was ready to just leave after paying our bill. The waiter comes by with attitude telling me that those are the rolls that we ordered and even after explaining to him how I knew those were not our rolls, he refused to take them back. We were faced with the hard decision of fighting this waiter and getting these off our bill or sucking it up and eating them. Not only were these not my rolls but they not good in the slightest. My husband had to take one for the team and help finish them. Going up to the front counter to pay for our bill, we encountered 3 other couples who had similar experiences and just wanted to get the heck out of there. Other than the ridiculously rude and clueless waiter, this establishment has the worst management (or lack thereof). There is one waiter I want to give a shoutout to. The tall, slim, bald gentleman has been working here since we started coming and he has always given the best service!! Better management would turn this place around but until then, will NOT be back...
