I walked into this scruffy place and if it were not for reading yelp reviews I probably would have slowly backed out and ran back to my car. Their sign reads "Sunrise Bagels and Gourmet Deli". Let's be clear: it's definitely not a deli and there is certainly nothing gourmet about this place. In fact, their bagels are few in variety and quantity and they are not the best bagels you will have in your life. And yet they make a darn tasty bagel sandwich. No smiles or friendly chit-chat to be found here - they are all business. There are a couple tables inside and a couple outside but you'll want to take your order to go. They seem to do a lot of phone-in & pick-up business. I took yelper Kelley U's suggestion and got a breakfast sandwich - egg, cheese and chorizo on an egg bagel. In 5 minutes it was ready. While the bagel itself was nothing special, the stuff in between was yummy. It must have been the crumbled chorizo that gave it the delicious flavor with just a slight spiciness. We were staying at the nearby Marriott and found this to be a pretty good bagel place. Sunrise Bagels is to the left of Starbucks and seems to attract a great many bicyclists looking for a pit stop each morning. Folks are friendly, both inside and out and we found their coffee was also good, as were their sandwiches. I'm sure this isn't a destination stop for coffee lovers. But if the Green Mermaid is backed up, as it was on a few mornings, just walk in and order a coffee with that bagel and smear of cream cheese. Enjoy! read more

We finally decided to make a trip here for lunch.... (brunch? Our lunch is scheduled a tad too early) My husband ordered the breakfast wrap that I believe had eggs, cheese, potatoes and choice of meat. He ordered it with bacon. I had the Viejo which is an open faced bagel with cream cheese, tomatoes, avocado, and apparently lemon pepper which I didn't know about. Price is ok.... Each item was $4 or a little over $4. I can get a medium iced mocha and a bagel with cream cheese at Brueggers all for $5.39, but then again this one had additional toppings. Bagel was not hard so that was good. Toppings were yummy and flavorful... however the lemon pepper was way over kill for me. It took over a lot of bites. My husband had a tiny taste of it just swiped with his finger and thought it was too much. If I get that again I will order it without that. He said his was ok but quite dry. He could have used some salsa. Whether they supply it or not, I don't know. We will have to find out. He also said it looked like two strips of bacon were placed inside rather than chopped up pieces. He saw that they have mocha frapps, smoothies, lattes etc. as well. I will have to go back and try it. I will come back and try some other things sometime, or modify what I had. Not too bad. I get so excited over bagels. Bagels make me happy. So of course when I saw this place I already started drooling. I ordered a garlic bagel with egg, cheese and bacon but extra bacon. The egg was almost like a omlette and the cheese combination was nicely melted over lots and lots of bacon. My only complaint is my bagel was on the flat side. Usually I have to open my mouth really wide to bite into a bagel and cream cheese, but thats not the case here. My husband had the same as me, however it was on a crossiant instead of a bagel. He said it was good too. It must of been good since our buddy ordered 2 of them for himself. If wraps are your thing, then they are available too. They have a small coffee bar but with SBucks next door I declined on coffee. They do have a single refridgerator of basic drinks Nothing exciting, a few snapples, juices, water. Service was fast and friendly. 2 sandwiches anx a Snapple cost $13. Ketchup and mayo are offered for free. read more

Their bagel sandwiches are crafted to a high standard of architectural integrity. If you like to actually see your bagels (behind glass, naturally), visit Bagels & Brew, more of a blue collar place. Sunrise is neither fancy nor are the bagels visible. The inside is narrow, small and stark plain, with a plain counter and an easy to read menu board. The ladies behind the the counter are sweet and helpful, and they deliver pretty good bagel sandwiches with no frills. read more

Sunrise bagels has the best bagels and croissant sandwiches in all of Southern California! My family and I have been eating here for about 8 years now and I still get just as excited to go. They are a family owned business and make their own homemade bagels/ baguettes etc that truly don't compare to anything else I've found. I also have a tree nut allergy and feel very comfortable eating there and have never had a reaction because they are great about controlling cross contamination. The only thing that would make me love them more is if they carried a dairy free cream cheese (; (;but I'll just continue bringing my own until that happens. Go support this awesome small business! This place is alright. I got a jalapeño bagel with cream cheese and it was really good. It was cheap too which was a plus. They also have a range of different bagel sandwiches you can order, which my friend said are pretty good. That being said, it seemed to be lacking on the actual bagel options compared to other places I've gone to, but they had the one I wanted to that doesn't really bother me. (But low-key was also craving pumpernickel, which they didn't have). There coffee is aight and the service is pretty fast. So its a nice place to grab a quick bagel and coffee and get on your way to work. That being said, the parking is pretty hectic at times so just be careful. read more

Being a bottled beverage addict, I was excited to see in their refrigerated case, several types of juices and drinks. I bought a bottled Arnold Palmer and Hubert's raspberry lemonade. I decided to give this place a try Sunday morning of this past weekend.... when I found myself with some time to kill and really wanting a bagel. Foothill Ranch seems to be lacking in bagel places. I searched Yelp for BAGEL, and Sunrise Bagels came up... of course, AFTER I had passed them. I decided to drive a bit more, and finally U-Turned and headed back. I placed my order for an Egg, Cheese and Ham sandwich on a Garlic Bagel. I also ordered a small coffee. I paid... and just kind of waited around. Decided to ask for my coffee cup and they let me know they were over by the coffee. I heard my order repeated 6 times, perhaps 8 then they started working on it. Everyone was very friendly there, and it was quick. I decided to sit outside, and enjoy my coffee and bagel sandwich. This has ZERO relation to this shop, but the people sitting outside in this little strip mall area... made me want to make a show about South Orange County people. There was a table of three men... who berated and made fun of EVERY single woman that walked by. The table next to them, a man was watching a movie on his cell phone. Without earbuds. At full volume. It was anything but relaxing. Busy little center, as Starbucks is next door to Sunrise Bagels... I suggest bringing some earbuds and your favorite music if you plan to sit outside and enjoy some peace and quite with your breakfast. Eh this bagel shop is ok, and not completely bad. Right when I walked in, I was greeted by the two ladies upfront. They don't seem very friendly. And since this cafe primarily serves breakfast bagels, burritos, and sandwiches... I expect smiles. The menu offers a lot to choose from. Chicken Cordon Bleu, Chicken Garlic, and so much more... I ordered the chicken garlic panini. I grabbed a late lunch at 2pm, which is 1.5 hrs near closing time. Bread & bagels didn't look nor taste fresh. My chicken got conventional oven roasted, slapped with preserved garlic and melted cheese from Costco or Kraft... Too ordinary. I'll come back here again, but at a different time. Probably the morning hours would they serve the freshest ingredients. Oh and there's no Sriracha, but there's Tapatio sauce! Still a big bummer for me. read more

Their menu is surprisingly big for such a tiny bagel place. Very confusing to figure out what I wanted. I assumed their specialty was in bagels, but they also do panini sandwiches and "gourmet" salads. Party trays are also available for their sandwiches, and I'm very curious as to how they taste. They have a decent selection of bagels; I was partial to the "everything" bagel. I would suggest their bfast bagel sandwich with cheese, scrambled egg, and sausage. The breakfast sausage is very good, and sizable. On the side I noticed they have a lot of bottled drinks in a fridge: energy drinks, vitamin water, chocolate/strawberry milk for the kiddies and or kiddies at heart, orange juice, green tea, etc) Essentially Nothing tasted bad, but there's still no 5 star factor for me. The breakfast taste great but their customer service is lacking. My son has an egg allergy and we asked if their in house made croissants are made with egg. I will agree with a previous post that this place is mostly business. No friendly morning chatter to send you on your way. The bagel selection is also very limited for a bagel shop. However, they have low carb options such as no carb breakfast. When you label a burrito as a wrap, it sounds healthier. Came here to grab a bagel, but the wrap sounded so appealing. Plus, same amount of calories, right? Anyway, the wrap or breakfast burrito was good. It is much smaller than what I had expected, but that means it might have be within caloric limits. Which is good right? I was an ok breakfast wrap. It had more filling than your average fast food breakfast burritos. The place is fairly small but looked as if it could use some cleaning. The bagels were almost gone, so make sure to get there early. We were there at round 8:30am and all the good bagels were gone! Oh well.
