    Deep Dish Pizza

We got it for takeout. Best pizza we have had in the Youngstown area! We got the deep dish and an old world pizza. Both are excellent. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Next time, we will eat there as it is very cool inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It took about an hour but I assume that is because of the deep dish.

It's been over two years since we moved to the area and we finally gave the Sunrise Inn a try, wishing we had done so so much sooner. We were craving burgers and the Sunrise Inn came up on top, and now we know why. My wife kept it simple with the original cheeseburger and I ordered off the summer Band of Burgers menu. Neither disappointed! I had the "Coral Reefer," the Jimmy Buffet tribute burger and it was cheesy, melting good time. I loved the potato skins. I've never had anything like them. While we waited for our burgers, we were overwhelmed by the rest of the menu... pizza... subs... Italian.... Amazing stuff. A couple of deep dish pies caught our eye on the way out leaving no doubt that we'd be back, again and again. The catering options look amazing too!

I'm surprised to see an empty table, but not for long..

The Carry-out menu is 6 pages long, so we knew we were really in trouble when we looked at the dine in menus! Talk about decisions. Thankfully, today's staff were so friendly and helpful. As first-time diners, we felt so comfortable and at ease even though this place is fast paced and packed full of large dining parties. I really couldn't believe how incredibly busy this place got. It probably has a lot to do with the wide variety of choices, large portions, and fair prices. Thanks, Sunrise Inn staff and family, for making this a great choice for our 1st trip to Warren. I will be back tomorrow for soup and bread to take home.

We had a lovely Friday afternoon lunch here. While it was crowded there was no wait, and the restaurant is very spacious. I ordered a grilled cheese with ham and it was great, but I did wish the ham was a little warmer. My partner got a seasonal salad which they really enjoyed. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised by our visit here!

I grew up eating at this place. Either sit down or carry out. Back home visiting. Went with family. I had Chicken Parmesan with Spaghetti. Love their sauce. Way too much! LOL. Half went home in a box and made a 2nd meal.

Food arrived to our table Very quickly. We realize when ordering fried chicken must give extra extra time, but amazing and worth the wait.

How do we feel about the Sunrise Inn Express in Howland?

They don't have as large of a selection as Warren does, but IMHO, the food they do have is every bit as good as Warren. I have heard people complain that it's "not as good." I guess it depends on how picky/grumpy a person is. lol I live in… Read more

The service is always impeccable. You never have to beg for anything. The servers are well trained. They come around regularly to fill drinks and genuinely care if you're having a good experience. Sadly, that type of service has mostly vanished most places. We had a wonderful female server. I unfortunately can't remember her name. She was upstairs yesterday with brown hair and a pony tail. Now to the food. They have a fantastic menu so you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My family and I have tried all kinds of things and loved them. It's our go to for celebrations. We started off with the fried artichokes which were crispy and delicious. They reminded us of the ones we had in Rome last year. My mom and I had the lemon pasta with shrimp. It was unbelievably good. You got tons of shrimp and the pasta was soft and melted in your mouth with the lemon. My husband loved his wedding soup and chicken Milanese. His family is Italian so he's hard on chicken cutlets. He said it was crispy and moist. It looked amazing but I didn't snap a photo since I was hungry. My cousin loved her eggplant Parmesan. She's also Italian and has been to Italy several times. That's her go to dish. It's always cooked perfectly. My other cousins got spaghetti and meatballs which they loved. The meatballs are huge and perfectly cooked. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. If you love Italian and know what good pasta is supposed to taste like, go to Leo's. Your stomach will thank you.

And yes that still describes many other of their competition... because it's what our area knows and loves. Their ambience is classier than a lot of their competition. Entrees come with a choice of soup or salad; one friend had the wedding soup, while the other two of us upgraded to the Caesar for $2--well worth it. Generous portion, fresh crunchy lettuce, and both shaved and grated Parmesan. The dressing came on the side. Service was impeccable: water glasses never ran dry and empty plates/bread baskets were cleared before we noticed. The restaurant was busy, so food wasn't instant, but everything arrived hot and delicious with no complaints. The staff definitely deserve a shout out for anticipating our needs and taking such good care of us. The menu looks extensive (we didn't order drinks), and there's a separate seasonal drinks list with cocktails and mocktails. Seating includes a large dining room and booths that easily fit big family groups; the vibe was lively and welcoming. Portions are generous--many people including all three of us left with takeout boxes with leftovers. A couple of tips: make a reservation if you can--we arrived at 5:00 and luckily were seated right away, but there was a wait by the time we left 90 minutes later. Also, the place is very family‑friendly: they offered us a car‑seat carrier for the baby, which made the visit stress‑free. Highly recommend for great Italian food, solid portions, and warm service in Cortland.

So cool that they are opening up TWO new locations in Boardman & Kinsman to spread the pizza goodness!! The Detroit Hot Honey Roni is my favorite. This was my first time having Detroit style pizza and it makes me feel like I don't have to travel to truly experience it. The baked cheesy goodness of a crust is phenomenal. Flavors? Out of this world. Cupping pepperoni is simply the best, their sauce doesn't give me heartburn and considering I try to stay away from red sauce that says a lot! OHHHH but their basil is always so fresh and flavorful. I think I could eat a bowl of it! The Detroit Chicken Bacon Ranch is also delicious. Best CBR pizza and I've had a lot of em. No words! The Detroit 8 Mile, same thing. Raving about it! I was thoroughly pleased that you literally get slices of garlic clove on top. The hot peppers ain't too hot & it's just GOOD! Period. Penna Alla Vodka with a fresh baked roll... my Lord! This was on a separate visit, but figured I would include it in this review. (I have been there 3 times within a month, oops) Pasta came out piping hot, flavors were immaculate; sausage, sauce, cheese, basil, OH MY! Just try it. I cannot wait to continually support this business and try new things with each visit!

Restaurant is Beautiful, staff very friendly and tons of parking. One of my dearest friends went with me. They have a great stocked bar and nice outdoor seating for those that prefer that. We started with the Oven Baked Meatballs, plentiful with a nice amount of fresh ricotta, it also came with a huge roll with fresh garlic and spices on it. The Meatballs were delicious. We tried the Plum Salad...the flavors were amazing the Feta was soft and creamy and the dressing was unlike any I have ever had. Best Salad. Small size enough to share. We tried a few Pizzas...took 90% home. First up New York White ...I added Ricotta to it. It was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. Second up was Detroit style The Butcher...My friend said it was really yummy, with a great amount of Sausage Meatballs and Bacon. This is the Ultimate choice when those ingredients are your Joy. We got smaller size with 4 huge square pieces. The under carriage of this pizza was pure perfection. Third up was New York Style Pesto, Vodka Sauce and Red Sauce with the perfect blend of Mozzarella, We chose to have them not add the pepperoni. This pizza delivers every flavor imaginable. I'm going to ask them if they can recreate on Detroit crust which is my new favorite. This pizza was tied for my favorite.... Fourth and final the tie for first place pizza.. Detroit Style Greektown ... Between the fresh spinach and the creamy Feta add olives hot peppers and light Mozzarella this pizza was Epic. The under carriage was perfect. The pizza delivered crunch after crunch bite after bite. It doesn't really get better than this. Our waitress was wonderful. We had her bring each pizza out in its box as we really only shared one square of each pizza. I am New York Born and live in Ohio. Truly here There are very few pizza establishments that truly bring it. Red Plum 100% delivers. Quality, Taste and price. Excited they will be in My neighborhood when the new location opens. This is a truly hidden gem. I plan on going back very soon. Hands Down Best of the Best!!!!!

The problem is, the place was packed and is clearly a very popular restaurant here. To start, the service was great! Everyone was super friendly and fairly attentive. Moving on to food. We shared two appetizers, peppers in oil and fried Zucchini flowers. The peppers were ok but had just a low quality olive oil that made them seem greasy. I've had fried zucchini flowers many times growing up in an Italian household but these were the worst I've ever had. They were overstuffed, over battered, and again, greasy! Not sure why they offer this dish when you can't taste the flowers at all as they are overpowered by everything else. Next, I had Chicken Marsala. I've had chicken Marsala all over the world, have cooked it many times, and I absolutely love the dish. This version was unlike any other version I've ever had with the addition of a ton of peppers. The chicken was cooked properly but the sauce was gloppy, didn't taste like Marsala, and seemed like it was cooked by someone who doesn't understand that the best Italian dishes should be simple and not "overhanded". The chicken parmigiana was the best meal out of everything they made but unfortunately the spaghetti it came with had waaaaay too much sauce and the parmigiana cheese (which we had to ask for) seemed like the low quality stuff you can buy in a jar at the supermarket. I guess the overall impression was poor quality Italian food made with average quality ingredients. If you like Olive Garden, then you'll probably be happy here as it felt like this restaurant from the food to the decor is stuck in the early 80s. One other note - the prices were very reasonable but as many Italian places in the US are, they don't understand that the main principle of Italian food is high quality ingredients combined with simplicity.

The little bit of juice from the lamb had soaked into the instant mashed potatoes, that are underneath?? it's an appetizer?!? They tasted like paste!!! The most flavorful thing we got was the Ajou sauce which I ordered an extra side of it/paid for the up charge and they were extremely rude about it. It was extremely overpriced and nothing was good!
