I ordered a cheeseburger, but it came with some alien like hard roll bun, which was nothing I wanted. The waitress had to inform me that their burgers don't come on regular buns because they're too big. It wasn't any bigger than my wife's sandwich bun. This was hands down my favorite place to eat on my first trip to Ohio! This location is in a small town and definitely has that small town, everyone knows your name type feel. The restaurant had plenty of parking and a full bar. After checking the area on Yelp for a place to eat and reading about the garlic-chicken and jojos then seeing pictures of the awesome specialized "Brier" style of pizza (think deep dish Chicago but the cheese is on top) I knew we had to go! The Food.... When the waitress arrived I said I wanted to try the famous garlic-chicken and jo jos. There was no description on the menu as to what exactly that was (I was thinking chicken with a garlic sauce....wrong!) but I was game to take a chance and try something new. I love trying food that I can only get in a certain town or area. She said no its basically fried chicken cooked in this pressure cooker I think and jojo's are basically seasoned and fried potato wedges. OMG SO GOOD!!! Like the best fried chicken and potato wedges ever! I will quote Robert K. "The garlic-chicken and jojos are bonkers good...I mean slap ya mama good." LOL!! He couldn't be more right and that sentence is what sold me on ordering it - thanks Robert!! My friend got the Gnocchi w/Meatball and she loved it, I tasted it as well and it was very good. Her sister got the Pizza Burger Splash which is exactly what the name says a burger between slices of their heavenly pizza covered in sauce....now this was a huge meal we all got to have some and let me tell you it was awesome! This is an oooooolllllllddddd Italian restaurant and pizzeria. Rumor has it this was (is?) a mob place. Most anything on the menu that involves a sauce is very good. My personal favs are the gnocchi and ravioli parmesan. If you like garlic chicken, this is about the best place in the Valley to get it (in a close race with Uncle Nick over at Buella Vista). They have Heineken on tap. You seat yourself and usually don't have to wait. Solid recommendation. read more

We normally love Sunrise however the last time we ate in ...............not that it is the fault of the waitress but there was a table of middle age adults cussing and swearing. Not just swearing but loudly using the f word. We said something to the cashier and she blew us off like oh well.........we use to eat here at least twice a month but not no more. Some of the best pizza in Ohio. Their standard pies are excellent, but their deep dish is the real deal. You'd think you were in Chicago. They usually have a variety or two of the deep dish available by the slice (in addition to their normal pizza), so no excuses not to try one! I also highly recommend their homemade desserts. First off, I always loved this place years ago, I haven't been in quite sometime, I decided to take my boyfriend here, he has never been, we order fried veggies as an appetizer, which they need to change there grease it was old freeze and tasted funky, my boyfriend got a medium rare steak and spaghetti as a side and I got a chicken club sandwich, his first steak was cooked well done so we sent that back and in no time they sent out another steak which was raw I mean it wasn't even cooked at all, asked for manager was told he's busy doing dishes , I said well that is unacceptable the waitress was rude, finally when he came out we explained everything he said you don't have to come back, which trust me we won't be back it was horrible service and horrible food. I've had a wide variety of their pizza but recently tasted their veal Parmesan and their chicken and greens with Penne and I gotta tell you the portions are huge and the food was fantastic! I have to say that this was the best veal Parmesan I've ever had next to home made. This was the first time I was able to find the veal. The slices were generous and tender. The seasoning in the breading was spot on and the side of pasta was huge. Their pasta sauce is very good. Not too sweet and not too over spiced. It's a bar so expect bar atmosphere. The waitresses are friendly and know their menu, and if you don't want a meal the pizza is great. They have done in or take out with a parking lot in back and curb side for pick up. Sunrise is a Warren staple. If your in the area, and haven't tried it, it's worth stopping. read more

Recently went here, had bbq wings and "when pigs fly" sandwich. The server was quick and efficient. Rolls with butter were immediately placed on our table along with our drinks. The food came out quick too. The wings and sandwich were delicious, the sandwich vessel, ie homemade loaf of bread was perfect to hold all of the meats on the sandwich. On my recent trip to Warren, I was excited to find a restaurant that was well received on Yelp and also had a liquor license. My experience at the Sunrise Inn was fine, just nothing exceptional. My group of six dined at the Sunrise Inn prior to a concert at the Packard Music Hall. The restaurant reminded me of a diner since there was a lot of variety in the menu. Although it wasn't listed on the menu, I was able to order an eggplant parmesan sandwich. It was fine. Nothing bad, nothing great. It filled me up and hit the spot. I was able to substitute a cup of Italian Wedding soup for French fries. The soup was okay. It reminded me of canned Italian Wedding. That's not necessarily a bad thing, just not necessarily a great thing. What stood out to me the most was the service. Our waitress seemed genuinely nice and was attentive our entire visit. I was able to enjoy the Great Lakes Christmas Ale draft which was local and seasonal. Overall, I had a good experience at the Sunrise Inn, just nothing special. read more

It's one of my favorite things in the entire world to eat and I'd put it up there with any pizza in the USA. My hometown favorite place to go to when I'm back in Warren, visiting family. For as many years as I can remember I've always go the same thing here every single time I go.. Chicken Parmesan with French fries. Random I know, anywhere else I would get it with pasta but here at Sunrise it's my thing, and I love the sauce!! The pizza is great too, you can order a full one or just a slice. It's the best, it's different and oh so tasty!! I know I'm in Trouble when I walk in and hear an unhappy gentleman in the back say "I'm sure it's not ready, hour and a half for me." All of this could be accepted on a holiday if they showed any level of organization or leadership. It was keystone cops meets the Lucille Ball at the chocolate factory. Zero organization. To be clear not disorganized, not slow handoffs, Zero food service organization. The Wings finally come to the counter and I made the mistake of paying for the whole order. "Pizza is 10 minutes out" says the kitchen expediter. I asked with some humor and levity "10 minutes or 10 football minutes?" We chuckled but He knew what I meant. 15 minutes later, and several Parmesan pepperoni pizzas later I ask if our pizzas are ready. I get the look of surprise and sure enough it had been given away. Several times. The mozzarella pizza had been completed and sitting, cold. They rush another pizza out and half heartedly make it. If my wife's family,who grew up in the area eating this 'pizza', didn't make a point to order the "stinky cheese" pizza when we come to town for a visit I would rather drive pizza in from out of town than patronage this absolute disgrace to pizza chains across America. Food was great but don't come here if you're in any kind of hurry. The service was extremely slow. It took my husband almost 10 minutes to get a shot on the rocks and there was only one other customer at the bar. The bar tender was just busy chatting to the point that our waitress went behind the bar and got his drink. The food came out reasonably fast but it took forever for our waitress to come back to give us boxes and the checkout process, don't even get me started. My husband stood in line for at least 15 minutes with only one person in front of him and then they couldn't figure out how to run his card because the chip doesn't work in it. Glad we had another form of payment with us. It was good, only gave three stars because the food was really really good but not good enough to go back again for slow service. read more

The pizza is not only great but possibly unique in the US. I have seen nothing like it in this country or even in Italy. Every time I hear it criticized I just assume those people prefer Papa John's or Domino's, which to me is the equivalent of enjoying Bud Light. The chicken is delicious, too, and both it and the pizza are the preferred carry-out items. I hope they take down your post because you're misinforming people about the product they serve. Best Pizza in Northeast Ohio. However, they use Romano cheese which is more acidic. If you want factory made pizza, don't eat here. Not all their pizzas have Romano and you can simply ask them for Mozz if you have young kids. Their pizza is for people with a mature pallet. We drove in off of 80 to check out the pizza on a road trip. We were disappointed to find that the pizza takes 30 minutes to cook. Understandable for a thick-crust pizza, but this is a warning to call-ahead! I ended up ordering Pizza Burger Splash, a most amazing creation made up of two pieces of pizza with a burger in-between. Today, I was short on time, but needed some lunch, so I stopped here since I remembered enjoying pizza here years ago. I explained to the server that I was in a bit of a hurry, and she took that to heart. I ordered two slices, and she said it would take just two to three minutes to hear it to serving temperature. She was exactly correct, and served me a slice of Old World and a slice of their White pizza. Both were heated just right, and had a crispy kind-of deep crust that was delicious! The Old World had a wonderfully spiced red sauce with good pepperoni & Romano sprinkled on top. I added some red pepper flakes & extra cheese from the table. The White pizza had lots of mozzarella, garlic, & other flavors that were a nice mix. Each slice was only $1.95, and the service was exceptional at 2 in the afternoon. OMG! I walked into this place to have a Thursday morning breakfast, but instead almost lost my lunch. I'm not sure who, or what, died in this placeb but the horrific smell was overwhelming. It was a cross between a dead animal and pounds of parmesan cheese, with a bit of used athletic socks thrown in.
