The burger is thick and really juicy, great bun and aioli. The fries are perfectly crispy. The pizza had a really great, I'm assuming wood-fired, crust. The duck was tender and sweet and there was a lot of arugula. It's a sparser craft pizza, which is just so delicious when you are looking for something a little heavy but not over the top. While they boast about their craft beer offerings, they have a great cocktail list as well, and I love that they have a specific whiskey cocktail section as well, with a few that are less common at some bars. The Brooklyn is probably my favorite, but you can't really go wrong. Also, a fellow patron asked for a Toronto and the bartender was happy to look it up and make it for him. And what about the atmosphere here?! It's so wonderful in summer! With its narrow design giving a sense that an entire wall opens to the outside and the patio that extends beyond, it feels Ike you are vacationing somewhere tropical and beachy. This somehow combines really well with the industrial vibe of the interior. They also have some TV's for sports. The service is very friendly, attentive, interactive, and helpful. One thing that was consistent across my three visits, however, was the feeling that the place is always understaffed, so things tend to move slowly. I'm not sure this is the case, it's just the feel you get when it happens the times you visit. This is a bit of a double-edged sword though, since it's such an easy place to just want to sip and nibble slowly while delving into conversation. So, that's not enough to detract a star for now, and honestly I'm already thinking about when I get to eat here again!

It was $45 before tip for 2 people which is kinda crazy for fast food but we had high hopes. The burgers were standard and totally average as were the onion rings. I would give them all 3/5 but I thought the fries were above average. They were cooked and seasoned well. The shake was delicious. 5/5 all day, but it was so small. We asked for large but were told there was only one size available. They are missing out by not offering larger sizes and it makes zero sense. If I had known they what I know now, I would have ordered two shakes and some fries. I might come back when they are more established, even though my experience was left plenty to be desires because I think there is definitely potential here.

Flavor-ish-ous! When they say hot... They mean it, Wow!!! The 3 Chilly Silly buger is off the charts! Finially someone not afraid to serve food with a serious kick. Building up to the "Deuce" ultra hot. Visited the Sunset several times with family and friends, everyone completly satified with the food and the excellent service. Cannot wait to visit this place again. Yummy! We have ordered the gumbo, halibut , baha dawg, boneless wings (yum), cheeseburgers, 3 chilly silly (hot!), cheese steak, burrito, and the grinder. Tantilizing our tastebuds every step of the way. This is not your average bar food by far and fries are to die for. The service at Sunset is a benchmark that other resturaunts could strive to aim for. Smiles and all servers on top of the customers needs. As I read the other reviews, I wondered where these folk's are eating here in Issy? They must have there own executive chef's at home... Come on, the price, the chain burger joints when with my kids is over 25 bucks and it's not even real food! I have supported the Issaquah restaruant scene for over 10 years and the Sunset has been a long time coming. We are glad to have a place in the neighborhood a step above the rest. Reasonably priced, great food, with a cozy pub feel and excellent service with a smile. Seating for kids with several TV able to be seen from any seat in the house, it has it all. Sunset has my vote. I recently visited the Sunset Alehouse in Issaquah last Saturday, since I was in the area. I have frequented the Jak's concepts and have learned a bit of the history behind the company. You can't stay open for as long as they have without doing something right, especially in the Pacific Northwest, where even the average Joe claims to be an authority on good cuisine. When I learned they had only been open for a little over a month, and have not even really done any advertising, I was amazed at the crowd they seemed to draw on Saturday night. I had the cheesesteak with a Three Skulls Orange Wit beer, and thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Having been in this business for 20 years, and having been to Philly, I appreciated their interpretation of an old classic, and the brew was great. I also know due to my experience, that this is only the beginning for this concept. Like any new restaurant, they will have growing pains in terms of their menu and recipes, and will definitely take Issaquah by storm when they are ready. Their company has been around for as long as they have for a reason, and it couldn't be because they aren't doing a stellar job with their food. And for all you so called food critics, maybe you should cook for yourselves, since apparently no one can seem to please you. read more

By far the best spot for a beer and a burger in Issaquah....but it goes beyond that. They always have interesting new things on the daily special menu. Had stuffed Cabbage last night that was out of this world good. I was in there a couple of weeks ago and had the Verde Chili dish and it was exceptional. Here is what I would tell people out for the night in Issaquah....if you want to have a couple of beers, some good and interesting food in a upbeat environment this is the place. Lets face it, Issaquah is a little limited and most of the pubs or bars have awful food or an awful atmosphere. To go somewhere nice you have to hit Jak's or the Flat Iron Grill and they are a little more expensive and not as casual. Great service....nice place to bring kids....all around favorite. read more

Went here for a few drinks with girlfriends around 9pm on a Thursday only to find a bar full of super wasted old creepy men! It was hard to order drinks since there was only one bar tender (who has no idea how to make a simple mixed drink) the music was terrible and the assistant manager refused to change it "because he didn't want to upset the old people". I'm just surprised that this place has gotten so many positive reviews, it must be from the same creepy old men that frequent this place. Ugh never again!!! read more

She and some locals were super friendly and gave us great suggestions and chatted with us and told us about the area. It always makes me all warm and fuzzy inside when we can just sit with the locals and have good conversations. Though I am not a tequila drinker, I was impressed by what this small town bar had stocked. A couple of friends went the tequila route and got some cool creations. My friend still talks about the tequila old fashioned he had in Snoqualmie. Since I just had beer, I stuck with it and got a local cider called Two Towns Marionberry Cider. I'm sorry, but $18 for a double at a neighborhood dive bar is crazy. And charging the designated driver $4 for a soda water seems pretty excessive too. I'm all for businesses making money and I understand prices increase, but there's a difference between a price increase and prices that make you wonder if you're suddenly at an upscale cocktail bar.
