If I could give this place a zero review, I would these people did a recall on my airbag of my Chevy Silverado and ever since then I've been having a check airbag light on and off periodically. I scheduled an appointment to have it checked out the woman on the phone never mentioned paying to have a diagnostic check on the airbag. They previously serviced came out early this morning and was told there's a strong chance they be would charge me $250 to have my airbag light checked out. I will never come to this place again! Good job Chevy. This is how you loose clients and customers this is why all these corporations are falling GREED! People are finding other ways.

The Service Department is horrible. This is the third time I brought my vehicles for an oil change just to come home a couple hours later to find oil all over my drive way. This last time I was lucky that my oil plug did not fall off on the freeway.

    Crack and lifted panel.

Dropped off Tahoe with an agent in service department for a recall airbag replacement. Part of protocol is to inspect dash for damage. The agent and I sit in the vehicle and visually inspect dash for no damage. If it was damaged, I assume they would document that. "Tim" the service manager stated there are no notes (and they only inspect the 1 inch around the airbag) So, no damage? More on that later. I return to speak to Service Manager once i discovered it and showed him the shoddy workmanship, significant crack in the dash, plastic parts with broken tabs ,broken plastic parts found on floorboard. He says a dash overlay is the only option, provided a quote for almost $900 assuming we call and schedule at no cost. Also that he can have the broken panels parts plastic welded. I call back a couple months later to schedule. Agent says I'm responsible for the cost of dash but only because I asked. Transfers me to Tim. Tim tells me Tahoes in the South and Internet says it's a common thing to get cracks in the dash, not their problem, took zero responsibility. I'm not in the South and neither has this truck and I don't believe everything on the Internet. Usually I move on and learn my lesson but fiance, mother and sister all purchased vehicles from and USED to get service from there. As I searched for alternative service departments I stumbled upon these relatable reviews here on yelp. When I think of customer service and quality of work issues at any company I look for trends. This service dept is trending down. Not going to return for a 4th time to try to fix the rear defrost cable hanging there either. Our vehicles have been in and out of this service department and have not had luck with quality of work. Fewer radio commercials and more service tech training?

    Key Fob

Last week I had some dealership service performed on my Chevrolet. I brought in a spare OEM key fob and asked if they would program it to my vehicle while it was there. Service advisor Chelsea Garrett informed me that since it was not in my appointment notes I would need a separate appointment. I presented the OEM key fob, she quoted me $40 to have it programmed. Today at my scheduled follow-up appointment I was informed it would be $197 plus tax to program the same key fob. This is a 500% increase over my quote. They now say it's because I didn't purchase the key fob from this dealership. This is nothing new as I had the key fob at my original appointment and they examined it. I like getting all my vehicle service done at the Chevy dealership, but was disappointed with this bait and switch tactic to up-charge me by 500%.

    Waiting for service to finish

I had a fantastic experience with true customer service! The ordeal was not pleasant, key fob issues with programming, however the customer service with Jake Bohran was exceptional! He kept me updated the entire time from texts to in person as I waited in the waiting area. Today he sent me off in a loaner due to the length it was taking, a nice loaner a 2020 Chevy Equinox with a full tank. It was refreshing to have such genuine care about what I was going through. And Jake had spoken to his manager from my first key fob replacement and his manager authorized this new key, blade and programming to be complimentary. I really want to thank Sunset Chevy of Sumner for the gift and exceptional care and service, especially to Jake! Highly recommend their services.

Normally I take to Yelp for everything (duh), but I decided to post in a local Facebook mom's group about our recent issues in search of a mechanic that is tried, true, and reliable. River City Repair was suggested by another local mom, and from there it was less than a WEEK that we had our car up and running with no shady business done. Mark, the owner, actually owns two tow trucks and was able to come tow my vehicle for an incredibly affordable price to the shop. Not only that, but they called me their next business day before 9am with a diagnosis and price. From approving the fixes to the car being ready (and there was a laundry list) it took 48 hours.... 48 HOURS! They worked incredibly fast for the work that needed to be done. And for 8 total things that needed to be fixed (a couple that were major and made it so we couldn't drive the car), we were out the door for parts and labor for less than $2,500. My husband was dumbfounded at their honesty and affordability after a year of dealing with car issues/shady businesses between the two of us. We were ready to throw in the towel and scrap the car and just buy something new even though we reallllly didn't want to, so I am SO glad I posted on that page and was introduced to River City Repair. I met Mark's wife, Tana, over Facebook and she was the one who put all of the gears into motion to get us scheduled to even offering a one-time free diagnostic to help out a local fellow mom. Mark personally drove the truck to pick our car up and he was such a kind, personable guy - even down to showing our two year old truck-obsessed son a few things on the tow truck (and totally making his day). Mark made a comment about his clients becoming like family, and I can TOTALLY see why. They're such great, honest people and this is the epitome of a small local business being a pillar in their community. Hands down we have found our go-to shop. Thank you to the entire River City Repair team for all of their kindness and hard work!

If I could give zero stars I would. My vehicle hit 100k…read moremiles, so I booked a "scheduled maintenance" service appointment online. I dropped off my car in the morning. Joey took a look at his computer to see what the recommended 100k svcs for my vehicle were, and told me that if I chose to do "all" of the typical svcs that I'd be looking at about $1,400 out the door. I was NOT expecting that. But he assured me that they would do an inspection and send me a report for me to review before they performed any services to my vehicle. When the report was sent, it lacked transparency on cost. There was a long list of "required" and "recommended" services. Yet there was not a total cost estimate, or even itemized estimates on each service listed. That was disappointing. After seeing the long list I immediately called to verify that I would have a chance to review this list before anything was done, some of the verbiage on the report sounded like the work had already begun. But the man that answered the phone assured me that nothing would be done until I spoke to Joey and authorized it. So, I took my time and read over the inspection report. Joey called me while I was reviewing it. I asked him to go through each item and advise me of the cost. I was taking notes and writing the amounts down next to each svc on the report. He did push me to do certain things, but once I was able to get him to pause, I told him that there were 3 specific services that I was considering having done on that day, and asked for the out the door total for those specific 3. He quoted me a number that did not match the amounts he told me, (nearly $200 more) so I pushed back. He then said "oh, I thought you were wanting this 4th service too". Um no, I specifically asked for the total of 3 services and he tried to add a 4th into it, I guess hoping I wasn't paying attention? Not what I want to think, but certainly how it felt. I told him I needed some time to decide, as the list was much longer, and the cost much higher than what I was expecting, and I wanted to review the options with my husband and get back to them. It left me thinking about the "out the door" cost he quoted me at drop off.....I don't know how I was ever supposed to leave paying 1,400 when over the phone he advised that the cost for spark plugs alone was 1,100. I felt bad, knew I was taking too long to decide, I felt I had it narrowed down to 3 services but it was getting late in the day and there was no reason for me to leave my car there overnight. I arrived to pick up my vehicle. Since I had not called Joey back to authorize any services, I explained to him in person that I was going to pick up my car and talk to my husband that evening in order to make my final decision on what I wanted done. He seemed unhappy with that, but was getting ready to give me my keys back. But before that, he told me that we just needed to square up on the oil change that they had performed. Huh? I questioned him on if and why they performed any services if I had never called them back to authorize any. He pushed back at me claiming "you signed off on that this morning". I signed off on nothing. He pushed back at me again, claiming "yes you did, that's where this all started in the morning, with an oil change". No sir, I did not book nor bring my car in because of an oil change, I specifically booked my 100k service, and of course it was one of the items on your long inspection list but I was assured nothing on the list would be done without my say-so. He got an attitude and told me "well I guess you got a free inspection, and a free oil change, and I guess I'll just figure out the money side of it on my end". He treated me like some kind of thief with negative intentions. It is NOT the customers fault that you performed an unauthorized service. But if you wouldn't have gotten an ugly attitude with me and make me feel SO awkward and uncomfortable, I would've simply offered to pay for it, as I DID intend to return for services. But I will never be going back to this place again, or recommending them to anyone.

Joey said that the scheduler had been down since Monday and they had no record of our appointment. We made the appointment last week on Thursday so no idea why that would matter. He said bring the car in and they would do their best to get to it. We showed up at 330pm, Joey was out. We talked to the guy at the counter, he said we could bring it back Thursday or Friday to get it done. We told him Joey said to bring it in today. He called Joey, who told him that he called us at 1115am and left a voicemail (we never got a call or voicemail) and said it wouldn't be today. Nobody knew we had an appointment until we called them at 145pm, so no idea where that even came from. After some back and forth, we were told to come back Friday morning at 9am to get it done. We wanted to just take the tires and go somewhere else, but everything had already been paid for online so we agreed. Showed up at 9am, dropped the car off for the tires to be put on and got the call to come back a couple hours later. We noticed that the words "INSIDE" were on the outside of 3 of the 4 tires, and asked the tech if that was supposed to be like that, since these were asymmetrical tires with different tread patterns on the inner & outer edges. He said it was fine, and the inside/outside words didn't matter. We also pointed out that they had put both 255 tires on one side of the car, and both 235 tires on the other side. They were supposed to be 235s in the front and 255s in the back. He took the car back in and swapped the tires to the correct position and we left. When we took the car on the highway, we felt some vibration. Suspecting the tires were either mounted/balanced incorrectly, or the inside/outside words mattered (like we brought up to the tech), we had the VW dealership take a look at our service appointment a week later. They told us flat out it was wrong and we should take it back for them to fix. We were already done with this shop at this point, so we just paid for VW to remove the tires from the rims and flip them so the orientation words were displayed correctly and rebalance them. Vibration gone, ride is way smoother.
