Don't miss this place. My husband and I each had a great breakfast. The hash browns are wonderfully fluffy shredded potatoes on the inside and perfectly crispy on the outside. I consider myself a hash browns freak and I'm sure I've never had better. The corned beef hash was homemade quality with big chunks of potatoes and corned beef. My husband really, really enjoyed his farmers omelet, loaded with everything you could ask for. We'll be back. I'd love to leave a review on the food but after waiting to be seated, then sitting there for 15 minutes and still nobody taking our order yet they were able to keep asking people if they needed more coffee or if everything was ok, we left. Please do yourself a favor and don't get anything that says "corned beef" I was very excited. Because the menu said it was their own recipe. Upon receiving my order. By "their own recipe" they meant canned corned beef with some onions and peppers thrown in. I was so hungry so I ate half. Now I'm sitting in the car with an upset stomach. We understand being busy, which it looked like they were. However, we didn't get our food for a good 40 minutes after being seated. The service was friendly. My kids are mute their food. However my youngest got a small little ketchup cup with fruit because it was the side we choose for them. And my second youngest got an actual bowl of fruit. Maybe they ran out. I think the current Yelp reviews are misleading. The food is always awesome! They have been updating and remodeling it over the last year and the atmospheres is a comfy place you want to return to. The coffee is always hot and fresh and in the dining room the service is always friendly. The bottom line is I don't go into a Taco Bell expecting great street tacos with lime and cilantro, I don't go to Ruth Chriss Steakhouse and expect a steak for $ 10. And I wouldn't go here expecting some quaint bistro style food. What we got was decent diner food that was tasty (but nothing superlative) at a decent price. My biggest complaint would have been the service, the hostess who couldn't smile to save her life or the server who never checked back, was below par for any establishments (except Panera bread, but that's another story.) read more

Shocker. Another mediocre restaurant in Gig Harbor. There's a bar room, a dining room, and a middle room that doesn't know exactly what it is. The decor is pointless. There are a bunch of plastic model airplanes hanging around the entrance. As you go inside, the only decor is something that looks like it was recovered from an old folks home built in the 80s. The service was OK but the food was crap. The soup of the day was French Onion. Their idea of melted cheese over the top was tossing a bit of shredded whatever on top of the bread-like thing floating on top and the overall flavor was seriously lacking. The crab melt was soggy and uninspiring and the fries seemed like they came straight out of the frozen foods section of the grocery store. I used to love going there for breakfast, but stopped after going there several times for dinner. Each time I had severe stomach cramps within 15 minutes after eating dinner. After watching Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares, I wonder what the kitchen really looks like. They have a great location, but unfortunately management hasn't done much with the decor, as mentioned in several other reviews. I think what bothers me the most about his place, other than getting sick after meals, is seeing their staff in the back of the restaurant having a smoke break. Hopefully their management will read the reviews and maybe even consider contacting Gordon Ramsey for some advice. I really wish they'd get their stuff together. This place is very deceiving. When you walk in it looks like a place straight out of Kitchen Nightmares. I was very skeptical, i almost left and I wasnt expecting much. Typical breakfast/diner type menu. Great prices. Basically something for everyone, it has all the basics. The portions are generous. They have the best thick cut bacon i have ever had. I think they use liquid eggs but i actually love liquid eggs for some reason. The service was fantastic, accurate and efficient. I guess dont judge a book by its cover. They also a small bar in the back that has a great beer selection and a bar menu. The mozzerella sticks were awesome. Bartender was super friendly too. This restuarant serves good, reliable food. In the past, the food quality wasn't the best, but since it has a new owner, the food quality has gone up, as has the service. I highly reccomend this place for breakfast, as the Natural Omelete is a great vegitarian meal, and full of fresh ingredients. If you come by for lunch or dinner, the fries are fantastic, and the fish and chips is fresh and prepared correctly. Don't write this place off just because it serves "good diner food." If I could give a negative star I would. I went to this restaurant on the suggestion of another person saying what a wonderful place to eat. I was taking my parents out for breakfast after church. We walked in and asked for a table. We were shown to a table and given waters and menus. So far everything was ok. After 20 minutes I got the attention of what I would call the "manager", a man in his 50s to let him know we had no waitress to our table and did not have any beverages. So he brought them to us. A couple of ladies came in about 5 minutes later and were seated at the window table next to us. No big deal right? Well, their waitress was over within a few minutes and got them their drinks and took their order before us. So I got the attention of this man again and asked him if we were sitting in the dead zone because we were not seen to by a waitress at all. I did not have a rude tone in my voice. I have worked in customer service 25+ years and I try to treat people like how I want to be treated. He said that there was a change in shifts and that she would be out soon. I asked if he could have her come to our table because we were waiting for so long. He said she would come to our table when she could. I said we have been waiting for, at this time, 30 minutes and if we have to wait any longer that we will have to leave due to no service. Instead of apologizing he actually said, "You can wait or if you want leave that's your choice. I don't care." Then he left and was not seen again until we left the restaurant. I then asked another waitress where ours was and she said she will be over pretty soon. I told my parents I would start my timer on my cell phone and if our orders were not going to be taken in 5 minutes we were going to leave. The waitress showed up at the 3 minute mark. I told her if it was 2 more minutes we would have left. Also, I would assume we would be served by someone we haven't seen, but our waitress was one of the ones walking around in our area serving tables. She gave a meek apology which was a whatever. Now let's talk about the food. My stepdad order fish and chips with substituting salad for the chips. He was advised he would receive a smaller than normal salad to "equal" the cost of the chips. The salad, made up of iceberg, cheese and croutons, came in a glass plate and barely covered bottom of the plate. He asked for vinegar and oil and got it. He also asked for malt vinegar for the fish. The waitress put it on the table. Before we received our meals another waiter came along and took the malt vinegar away. So our waitress showed him there was another malt vinegar available and gave my stepdad the other one. My mom and I ordered the 2 egg special. The only difference was the egg, hers was over medium and mine asked for scrambled dry. We both asked for bacon, which was harder than a rock. To the point my mom could not eat hers. We also both asked for sourdough toast. For some reason my meal came out with regular scrambled eggs and dry toast. So my mom was only able to eat the egg. By the way, the ladies sitting next to us had received both their salad and main course and were almost done by the time we got our food. Our waitress came only once to our table to ask if we needed anything else. We were supposed to get another refill on our hot chocolate but we didn't because we just wanted out of there. We were not offered any discount on the bill. This is the first time my mom has ever said she was still hungry after going to a restaurant. My mom does not eat that much so for her to say this is a big thing. We all have been to a lot of restaurants and we all agree this has been the worst experience we all had ever had. My stepdad used to own restaurants in Finland and could not believe the way we were treated. This is not how you treat people if you want to keep your business open. As we were leaving we noticed Panera Bread across the street and we all agreed we should have gone there instead. We will never come to this restaurant again. I will make sure I tell everyone one I know how bad the food and customer service is. All these saying how good it is must be friends, locals, repeat customers. It was just bad. read more
