It's been a while and my last few visits have been a marked departure from my original review. Everything here feels decadent when your regular breakfast is a protein drink or just a second cup of coffee. The lemony ricotta pancakes were fantastic, and the chicken and waffles were perfect. On our last visit, my grandson had some waffles with bananas and nuts that would satisfy me as a dessert. Service was quick, efficient, and with a smile. It's Christmas time, and I need to mention how great this place is decorated. We need to go back more often. read more

Saturday morning. Sat about 8:15 and so glad we did. The place was packed by 9am. My husband found this place to take me for a morning date. I think his draw was the mimosa flight. The service was so nice. She was very sweet, and attentive. She had great recommendations from the menu and gave us appropriate enough time to decide. It was cinnamon roll French toast, blueberry's granola pancakes and a side of biscuits and gravy. Everything was fantastic. The b&g cut the sweetness and was wonderfully savory. Nice little plate to share. The cinnamon roll French toast was amazing! Syrup is not necessary but available. Perfect serving size. I was stuffed! My husband's blueberry granola pancakes were very good and he said interesting. Chewy, stupst edges, soft inside. The granola and blueberries were inside the pancakes and some on the top too. We were in and out in under an hour and did not feel rushed. So glad we beat the crowd. Easy parking. Patio seating is available too. Highly recommended. read more

We were looking for a dog friendly restaurant to take our pup to, we called SBB to confirm if they're dog friendly and we were so excited when they said they are. The service was amazing, they offered our pup a bowl of water and gave him some pets. Great ambiance! The food was so good! I ordered the breakfast burrito and the Mimosa fight, my husband ordered thebiscuits and gravy with a side of potatoes. My kiddo got the banana pecan pancakes, he loved them. For me sunshine breakfast bar is at its best when it comes to food. Their signature omelette was incredible because it was well cooked and packed with fresh ingredients, and the signature pancakes are soft as well as flavorsome. They are quite plenty, and very reasonably priced for good portions so you get great value for your money. There is no doubt that they care about every single dish served for their customers. Make sure to try their strawberry shortcake pancakes, they are delicious and one of a kind! Make sure to get on the waitlist through Yelp because they do tend to get really busy. The wife & I went here for an anniversary breakfast. I definitely would recommend this place. We sat outside. We got the mimosa flight. Which was good. Our waitress, I think her name was raye, brought us a huge cinnamon roll with cream cheese icing. Oh my it was delicious. My wife ordered the eggs Benedict Florentine. It was some of the best she ever had. I ordered the southwest omelette which was on the money. Both came with their home style which tasted fantastic. Our server was on point with all her tables. 4/26/25: Short version - you definitely want to get on the waiting list. The ambiance was definitely bar-ish, in that the noise level was pretty high & they serve booze; there were little kids throughout so it is also a family joint, we had a wonderful server, Kelly. The food was decent, but not worth the drive from Laveen -- and yes, we do drive large distances for food. Long version - This place is busy. We got on the list before leaving home & the wait was 48 - 63 minutes. Due to Saturday afternoon traffic, it took us about 45 minutes to get there, about five minutes to drive around to find a parking spot I deemed less likely to get a dent in my car, yet we still had to wait about five minutes to get seated. Our server came over quickly & was very friendly. We ordered the cinnamon roll off the bat, along with a couple of Cokes. The drinks were brought out quickly but based on the timing of my pictures, it took about 20 min for the roll to come out -- and it came out with the rest of the food ordered, not before. The breakfast croissant was pretty good, although the croissant was a bit smashed, and I'm glad I ordered it with avocado, though that tacked on another $2. The Cokes were almost $4 apiece! I'm so happy I brought my collapsible cup to take home the refill. I wasn't overly impressed with the homestyle potatoes (they seemed a bit oily & could have used a bit more seasoning). My sister's All American Breakfast was pretty typical, she, too, paid an extra $2 for avo. The cinnamon roll came out hot (everything did, actually) and it was light & fluffy, but could have used a less sweet drizzle. I have a sweet tooth so I can't believe I just said that. :-) They have a fair-sized patio on the north side, and its door was wide open so the restaurant got some good fresh air. We were lucky to be seated by the door. The entire staff seemed happy were bustling everywhere. I imagine if we lived in the area, I may have given it a higher rating, but the experience was not explosive enough to warrant another 50 minute drive. read more

The most important factor was the food, which was delicious! Everyone's favorite was the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes which we shared. Sunshine is known for their sweet cream pancakes which allows for a soft interior with crispy exterior. The lemon flavor was just enough and the pancakes weren't too sweet. I ordered the breakfast burrito with ham and chorizo (the additional protein option was +99 cents). The burrito had a great balance of flavor with meat, 2 eggs, cheeses, peppers, and potatoes in a crispy tortilla. I had it with their green salsa which is the spicy one- so good I had to ask for more! Overall, we were happy with our experience and will need to come back to try everything else. read more

Our server appeared to make assumptions about our table and applied an automatic large-party gratuity to a party of five. As someone who comes from the service industry, this was disappointing. I typically tip in cash and am especially generous around the holidays, but in this case I chose not to add anything extra. It felt unfair to be profiled, particularly as a Spanish-speaking table, when we are bilingual, respectful guests who never cause issues for servers. I hope management addresses this with their staff, as guests should never be profiled based on the language they speak or their ethnicity. The sixth person did not fail to show. The host was notified 10 minutes after we were placed on the waitlist that our party size had changed to five due to the one-hour wait not aligning with their schedule. read more

We have eaten here several times and had good experiences. However, this time we ordered breakfast and it came to our table in bits and pieces. Eggs, then several min later, grits then several min later sausage. My husband was getting frustrated because food was getting cold and toast was delivered 8 min after the rest of the food arrived! When the toast finally arrived he asked that it be taken off the.bill. When the bill came it still had the charge for toast. He asked to see the manager and at that point the manager told him he was banished from the restaurant! We were shocked as the requests we made were valid. Tucked away in a commercial business plaza. The place is pretty small and the wait is long. They accept online waitlist, I suggest you add your party before leaving. Our server was awesome ( shout out to Michelle). I got the chorizo omelette and it came with thinly sliced potatoes. It was very savory and good. We also shared the waffle, it was delicious. Soft and a perfect crisp. The coffee was not good, very bitter. This is a bit out of ways from where I live so I don't think I would come back, but I would if I lived closer, I would.
