When our food got dropped off, she asked if we needed anything else. We said no. She didn't check on our table until we needed the check. We just had breakfast here yesterday and overnight there was a fire. I do hope they recover, because the food and serve are simply great here. The menu is extensive and covers all your classic dishes both American and Mexican, as well as a few choices you don't see every day. The portions are generous and the prices very reasonable. Service is spot on, with lots of refills on your coffee, which is actually very good. I had the Indy omelet which had spinach, mushrooms, onions and green peppers. The veggies are actually sauteed, so that makes for a nice taste and consistency. A little dab of salsa, a drizzle of crema and topped of with fresh avocado slices and presto: one delicious omelet. It comes with your choice of potato and either toast or pancakes. I really hope they reopen, it would be a big loss if they don't. read more

Didn't see any recent review and it was my visit! i got the chicken skillet based on reviews which looked delicious & said it was $10 for the skillet and pancakes. Not sure if you get to choose between pancakes or toast but i was given the option between white or wheat toast. It was $14 for the chicken skillet takeout and toast without tip. I was able to finish the whole thing besides the toast. Kinda disappointed when i opened the box since all the photos i seen were double the portion i had. The staff was really friendly and nice and the chicken was noticeably tasty! Don't know if id get it again as breakfast takeout tho considering the price and portion. read more

Very pleasant waitress and quick. The place smells fresh and clean with delicious food odors wafting through. The coffee is served with real half and half and not that disgusting " creamer" ditto the toast is buttered not margarine. I do not understand why in the very place America gets its farm goods anyone would use that fake crap YUCK. I received my coffee less than 5 minutes ago she's already checked to see if I need more. Oh well, it started so nicely but fell short on my breakfast and was very good on my husband's. He had the biscuits and gravy inlet with really nice fluffy pancakes. I had the farmer's breakfast. I asked for hash browns but received breakfast potatoes which were just deep-fried chunks not awful but not good either. I asked for sausage links, the only choice of sausage, but received ham I was replaced with dried-out heat and served sausage I wouldn't eat. Then there was the toast lol lol. You get one and a half pieces of toast. Not two slices one and a half. It was so ridiculous I laughed. My eggs were on a little over cooked but ok. On the other hand my husband's breakfast was very good. Great restaurant. The building is modern and inviting inside and out. The menu offers both breakfast and lunch options. Both American and Mexican dishes are available. Most of the servers speak English though Spanish is their spoken language. The food is delicious though the portions are a little small for the price. We had a soccer tournament and had some time before our next game. So we decided to get some breakfast and searched the local area. The restaurant is very clean. The staff is very friendly. The menu was extensive, authentic, and had a lot of excellent choices. I went with the chorizo skillet which did not disappoint. Nice fresh vegetables, nicely done scrambled eggs, and mildly spicy chorizo. I like spicy food which is why I got the chorizo, but the spice level was pleasing for breakfast. When they say fresh squeezed orange juice, they mean it. It kind of reminded me of an orange Julius but without the cream. Lots of pulp so be prepared if you don't like pulp. But it was excellent. Waited over 15 min to be addressed with 2 young children at the table. Then 45 min for food; 2 kids meals and a simple skillet. Ordered a kids Orange juice and when she brought it, it was an extra large size mug. I told her I wanted a kids oj, she said that was the only size. I asked her to take it back and bring us a kids water. She left it there untouched. Finally our food came out and was wrong, I was over the experience by then. I've been coming for years and will not be back. In closing, once the check arrived, the 7.99 orange juice was on the bill. At checkout they told me no returns on orange juice and the charge would remain. Poor customer service and low quality food. read more

Very nice breakfast spot in area that is in need of good businesses. From the outside you wouldn't expect it to be so nice inside and very spacious. There was a slight wait , which was expected for Sunday brunch time. Our server was very nice and did a good job. She was super busy. The four of us got different meals. I got Eggs Benedict Florentine- Eggs Benedict with bacon and spinach on top. It was very good. The eggs were poached just right. No runny whites but the yellow still was. One friend got a Spinach Omolette. She ate it all. Second friend got a basic breakfast of bacon, scrambled eggs and english muffin. Her plate was also empty. Friends son got Chilaquiles (pronounced chee-lah-key-less) a traditional Mexican breakfast made with tortilla chips simmered in sauce. That didn't look very good but he liked it. Food coming out to the table took quite awhile but it was all good. We all said it was a place we'd go back to. read more

I have been a regular at Thai Town Cuisine located right next to Sunshine, but I had not tried breakfast there yet. And this time I finally went there and had a great experience! I was expecting a typical American breakfast and brunch restaurant like Blueberry Hill, but this place was not just that. This was a breakfast place with some Mexican dishes. They had such a welcoming atmosphere and there were lots of families enjoying their brunch. I had a Ranchero skillet and I loved the chorizo in it. My server was very friendly and attentive. This place was a pleasant surprise.They have a ton of parking available and a huge dining area. They have a television in the middle of the dining area which had sports playing while I was there. Their menu is huge. It was hard for me to decided what I wanted. Their food is typical diner food with a Mexican twist. I ordered the El Fuego Omelet which came with hash browns and toast or pancakes. I opted for the toast. It did not take long to get my food and it was simply awesome. It was very flavorful and delicious. I highly recommend it. They have some awesome looking fresh squeezed juices that I wish I would have tried. Oh well, maybe next time. Others in my group had the pancakes and their responses was "these are some of the best pancakes they ever had". And they liked their skillet bowl clean. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. There was an issue with our bill that was corrected right away, once it was brought to our servers attention. This place is a few steps up from Ihop and waffle house and has a small business/local flavor to it. My group and I was thoroughly impressed with the service and their food. I was looking for a new breakfast spot to try and my sister recommended sunshine, I ordered the ranchero skillet with toast and a short stack of pancakes. Everything was very delicious! The skillet is very spicy so please be careful, I didn't realize I couldn't take the spice like I thought I could and was unable to eat half of the skillet. The short stack pancakes were very delicious and fluffy. The service was amazing we were seated immediately and our waitress gave us great recommendations on what to try. We waited for the restaurant to open so it was a little empty while we were eating, but it was very nice way to start off your morning with delicious food. read more

Went here a year after my initial review and my view on this place has changed dramatically. And for the better! They remodeled inside the place and it looks amazing! I ordered their chicken skillet and it's my favorite thing to eat now. You get a skillet and pancakes for $12!!! The way this economy is, that's the best deal I've came across in a while. We were looking for a new breakfast spot to try since we were tired of chains. I found this spot on google and we decided to try it for brunch. The menu is huge and there is lots of seating in their dining room. The food was mediocre. I prefer other restaurants pancakes and french toast over this place but the food wad good if youre in a hurry. The prices were a little on the high end for what you get but that could contribute to inflation. Lots of pot holes in the parking lot made it feel like I was in a game of mario kart dogging shells. Tried this place for the first time today since me and my MIL were in the area. We've been trying a good breakfast spot out here for a while (we're from California) and haven't had much luck. Upon entering, we were pleased to see the menu also had Mexican food, because we've also been looking for a good Mexican spot to eat at. We were seated quick and the waitress asked what we wanted to drink. We looked over the menu, lots of items looked good but I decided to go with the Enchiladas Rojas. I also asked for a Pepsi. My MIL got some chips and guacamole as well. Worth noting the waitress took a while to return to our table after giving us our waters to take the rest of our orders. I took a sip of my Pepsi but it tasted super sweet, very syrupy. So I continued drinking my water. My MIL was on the phone so I was playing with my straw, and took a few sips of my Pepsi. I looked down at it, and noticed two small red dots. I then saw a wing on a piece of ice and realized the red dots were eyes to two gnats that somehow ended up in my drink. I never saw any flying around me while seated, so they must have been in there the whole time which sucks because I did drink some. Another server brought over the chips and guac. And I tried to stop her to inform her of the bugs so I said "excuse me" but she kept walking so I had to say it louder and I told her there were gnats in my drink. She looked at me weird so I again repeated and said there's bugs in my drink. Instead of apologizing or saying anything she called over our original server. I then explained it to the original server, and she tried to find the bugs but kept lifting the drink. So I told her to just look straight down and she would see them floating with the ice, which she did. She asked if I wanted something else and I said no and just stuck with the water. After that I was extremely paranoid about bugs being in the rest of my food. Anyway, back to the chips and guac. They're stingy with the serving, giving a small bowl of guac with a large serving of chips, making it unequal. There were also large pieces of onion in the guac. It was over all decent. The chips were good and crispy. The enchiladas weren't steaming hot, they were warm but more on the cold side. Chicken was a tad dry, but the red sauce was good. The beans were EXTREMELY salty. I could only handle one bite, it tasted like I was eating a spoonful of salt. I had my MIL try and she agreed it was salty. She told the server she should tell the chef but she kind of just awkwardly laughed it off and apologized. The best thing on the plate was the rice. While we were sitting there, and ant also crawled on the booth behind my MILs head. Overall the place was decent. I will not be returning. Hopefully the breakfast was better, but between the bugs and super salty beans, I'm good. So, keep an eye out when eating and also drinking while in this restaurant. The server we had was friendly. But I'm also pretty sure the drink was not comped from our order. We had to leave in a rush, so we didn't have time to really overlook the receipt and take it off. read more

On a whim we decided to try this place, after trying to drum up ideas on a breakfast place to go in the area that wasn't Cracker Barrel. The food was a welcome surprise. They have the classic breakfast (eggs Benedict, pancakes, etc) but they also have Mexican food (Mexican breakfasts, but also tacos and other foods). I went with the huevos rancheros and scarfed it down. It was so good! The kids got Mickey Mouse pancakes that came with whipped cream and chocolate chips. They ate all of! I have mixed feelings about this place. To start, the table was sticky with syrup and I just cleaned it myself without making a big deal. I heard another couple across the way saying their table with sticky though too which leads me to believe that their tables should maybe be cleaned better. I ordered orange juice and it tasted sour and old; definitely don't get the orange juice if you like fresh orange juice. When the food came out it wasn't right. When I told our waiter she made it seem like a big deal. Not to mention that our food all came out at different times which I didn't like. I asked for a water (which should have been given anyways) and waiter literally gave me the "why do you keep asking for so much" look which set me off. Ambiance and vibes are great in here though. Customer service and food is mid. However, I will say the Nutella and banana French toast which my sister ordered looked amazing and she said it tasted pretty good. So delicious!!! I ordered the Ranchero skillet, subbing chicken for the chorizo. This dish was spicy! The peppers were packing a lot of heat and I added cholula sauce before I tasted it. This dish had incredible flavor. It has cilantro, peppers, salsa, eggs how you want cooked, and home fries. Come to think of it I think they forgot my avocado. This place was very busy on Easter at noon. Our food took at least 30 minutes to come out. We only had to wait less than 10 minutes to get seated. They called when they were ready so we waited in the car. They were really good about refilling our coffee cups. Once we got our food, never saw our server. We weren't sure if we were to wait on a ticket to pay. But you just go to the cashier and tell them where you were sitting and they brought up the bill. It was $3 extra to sub my meat. They have a very extensive menu. From typical American breakfast foods to Mexican style food. Open 7-4. Can't wait to go back and try other items! read more

That didn't happen. *Walked in to a group of people waiting to be seated with empty tables that looked available in the restaurant. *Asked the person at the cash register if there was a wait list and was told that there wasn't. *We did get seated ahead of the other people and in the bar area. *When our server came over, we asked for water along with other beverages. The water was never brought. *I ordered a breakfast sandwich and my companion got huevos rancheros and it took about 40 minutes for our meals to arrive. The server came back twice to tell me that the bread I asked for for the breakfast sandwich they didn't have. *When the food arrived we had to ask the server for silverware and napkins. One of the silverware set ups had dirty silverware wrapped up in the napkin. We had to ask for clean silverware. *The bacon on the sandwich was undercooked. *The server only came to our table once to ask if we wanted anything else. Never asked how the food was. *I had to ask the server to get the check. They never came to see who we were doing. read more

This is a really good spot to eat with a group of people. They have room so you're not too cramped. The service is nice and the food is great. Tasty and flavorful. New joint, good food. My coworker just tested me to this spot and let me tell you....ok westside of Indianapolis. I had a skillet with turkey sausage, had browns cooked just the way I like them crispy, scrambled egg and white gravy with wheat toast. My goodness it sure was delicious and plentiful. My homie had a ranchero skillet with them Sunnyside up eggs which must have been just as tasty. He finished his meal that had the jalapenos with a kick. Awesome! Yelp really never steers me wrong. This is a great hidden gem in this area. Good brunch food with lots of Mexican and American options. I had the chilaquiles verdes which were so good!! Added chorizo and loved it. My boyfriend got some Mexican eggs scrambled with jalapeños and tomatoes, pancakes, hash browns, and bacon. Everything was great.
