Great find for a local diner. Delicious food. I had the Petit Omelette which said fine herbs but really was only parsley when I asked. Added mushrooms & avocado. MUST Order the biscuits!! They're totally homemade with the crunchy outside; To die for. My eyes were larger than my stomach, so could only finish half of the omelette. My husband ordered the Abe Lincoln : eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes & potatoes with gravy! Yum. Lots of tables & booths for a diner and the place was quite busy. I've eaten at the sunshine Café several times and really enjoyed my food each time. Yesterday was no exception. The omelette had just the perfect amount of feta sprinkled on top and I love the option of a side salad instead of potatoes. The only problem was payment. Payment is done through a handheld device and they watch you choose a tip and sign which is a little uncomfortable (do you really have to stare at me while I consider your tip? Give me a minute to do the math!). But this experience was just offensive. When the server gave me the device to sign, after already inserting my card, they had added the tip for me, and it was greater than 25%. I was really surprised and asked them if they could remove it to allow me to add my own tip. They seemed really put out and surprised that would make this request and said they would have to go to their manager. Then they seemed surprised that I insisted that yes, they do go to the manager to remove the server-chosen-tip. After having that tip removed, the server argued with me that they hadn't added the tip and I always had the option of choosing my own tip. Very uncomfortable situation, I don't think I'll be returning. There are several other great brunch spots in town. read more

Sooo much food! Well worth the price (and the price wasn't bad at all!). I've already been telling everyone I know about it. I have a lot of friends that use their Marriott points and stay at that Marriott across the street. I was here a few weeks back with my family. The restaurant is beautiful love all the details they put in, even in the bathroom. The food was good! Now the one star is for the customer service we received. Our server didnt even mentioned her name to us, and look like she didn't want to serve us, she look annoyed with us. The only time we saw her was when we arrived and at the end when she brought the bill. The other girls that worked there also look like they didnt want to pass by our table, and ignored us multiple times, didnt even make eye contact with us. Honestly I felt like we were being ignored because we are hispanic. I have never felt like these before at any restaurant. The staff definitely need to show more enthusiasm to work and a better customer service! read more

On July 20 my Spouse and I were fortunate to ignore the few negative reviews and give the Sunshine Cafe a chance. We were welcomed warmly and promptly seated and water and coffee were promptly served by our terrific server, Veronica. The Eggs Benedict were honestly the "Best" I've enjoyed. Eggs perfectly pouched, ham a sweetish delish flavor, served on a generously round, but soaked toast. Then sauced with creamy Hollandaise. Wife went for traditional bacon and eggs, potatoes. Perfect. The Strawberry jam had to be a boutique type or homemade on a buttered soaked, large bottom English muffin. Restrooms are very clean, one with a cool Super Hero Theme. From the very attentive and friendly Manager, to the hardworking and also engaging staff and cooks, the Sunshine Cafe couldn't be more welcoming to out of Townes's and first timers. We were the only family of color in the waiting area and we waited 1 hour to get service. Families who came after us were seated before us and we were left waiting in the cold. Once we were seated we received attitude and cold bitter coffee. Not only was service TERRIBLE and RACIST, the food/coffee was disgusting and cold. Be aware. We were in town visiting my son and daughter-in-law, and knowing how much we love breakfasts out, they took us to Sunshine Cafe. My husband said that the corned beef hash was the best he's ever had (loved the sauerkraut). My cinnamon French toast was delicious. We also shared biscuits with homemade jam, while the kids had Huevos Rancheros and the triple berry French toast. Service was outstanding! We had the good fortune of stopping in here on a Sunday morning before we left town and wow were we impressed. This is such a quaint place, there are beautiful pieces of art work on the walls and there is a great vibe to the entire restaurant. We were greeted by a very friendly staff person who showed us to our table. I ordered the meat Benedict and it was delicious! The hollandaise sauce was perfect in every way. My husband had the basic bacon, eggs and potatoes and he loved it. The scones for the day were pumpkin and although I don't normally love pumpkin we went ahead and ordered it and I could have easily eaten the whole thing by myself....so, so good! First time in this great little place but definitely won't be the last. My friend and I each tried the Sunshine Chicken salad. The salad was very fresh and the chef did not skimp on the ingredients. The greens were chopped into nice bites, salad was loaded with sliced apples, cheese, golden raisins, and of course chicken bites. I had the Sunshine ranch dressing which didn't really taste like a ranch dressing but it did partner very well with the salad. The wait staff were friendly and our wait was reasonable. This has been one of the most welcome additions to the neighborhood in the past couple years! LOVE the food, the vibe and the service! Already has become a staple for our fam on Sundays for after-church brunch. Highly recommend! We love to get it for take-out as much as we love dining in-restaurant. A+ all around! Also some of the most friendly and all around lovely staff in the valley. Can't wait to go again! I ordered French Toast and it was delicious and my server was warm friendly and attentive. They were busy but my food came out quickly. They kept the coffee coming and came back a number of times to make sure that I didn't need anything else. Nice experience. I gave it 4 stars because I sat at the counter and it needed a little more cleaning and all of the servers weren't wearing masks. I asked about the masks and was told that the owner had an exemption from the City so that wearing masks was at the servers discretion. I thought that with the crowded environment and food service masks should be required. read more
