This place isn't bad !! Came in about 9:30am and it wasn't crowded at all. Pretty spacious and lots of seats to eat in. Based on what people have said, it is true, later in the mid morning to late morning seems like the selection is not as big. Ended up getting the maple bar, blueberry old fashion, and maple old fashion. They were crispy just like they should be. The blueberry old fashion was great too, I was actually expecting it to be not that good, but the only blueberry old fashion donut I've seen. The lady that helped us got our order quick, in and out. Both of the sunshine Donut stores are excellent. The donuts are perfect and the ladies working there are very nice and professional. I can't think of anything negative or anything they could improve on. The only thing that comes to mind is that I wish I wasn't already so big, cuz then I could go there much more. Gone in a few times, unfortunately customers are treated differently depending on what they look like. I am a nurse, I pick up donuts for my staff. Never greeted with a smile and this most recent time I went in they purposely gave me 10 donuts when I paid for a dozen not thinking I would check before I left. No apology, just attitude. Went today around noon and they were mostly sold out. Not much to choose from so I got a cinnamon bun, donut with sprinkles and a cream cheese danish. The girl also threw in a coconut covered doughnut as well. One bite of the coconut donut and I knew why they were all sold out. Delicious and moist. Not an overwhelming blast of coconut but a very subtle taste that went well with the icing on the donut. The cinnamon roll was amazing, lots of cinnamon flavor again, very moist and delicious. It's good, but I've had better. Namely, Giant Donuts in Oakley. I thought the service was quick and friendly. I taste test all the donut places by doing an Old-Fashioned Donut test. If you mess up an old-fashioned donut, don't get into this business. I thought it was okay. It was better tasting then the donuts you can get at both the local Safeway's. We usually go there every Sunday and get the same thing. 1 vanilla sprinkle, 1 raised crumb, 1 maple bar (not filled) and 12 donut holes. They are always so fresh. If you have never tasted the donut hole sized cream puffs, you probably should just stay away from them! I hate it when they run out before I get there. These little heavenly powdered sugar covered treats are a real treasure. Don't confuse them with donut holes. They more remind me of a filled beignet. I sont know whats up with the Bay Area but there arent any donut shops. Thsts ok you only nees one good one and this is the place. I grew up o goos donuts so trust me I know what A up. Excellent doughnuts! I decided to give them a try one morning and we have been weekly fans since. Usually I go on a Sunday morning around 10 or 11 (we sleep late). There are a few tables but mostly it is "to-go" service. The place is clean and well-organized. They offer both raised and cake doughnuts. I can't comment on the cake doughnuts because neither of us eat them. The counter persons are friendly without being pressure salespeople. Very good. I don't know how long they have been at the location but I would highly recommend they get a sign board to put on the corner so they get noticed. My family and I have gotten donuts from here twice and each time we were impressed. They have a good variety including favors such as a frosted blueberry cake donut. Our favorites however are the buttermilk ones - for us they're the best of any donut shop. If you're nearby you should stop in but be warned many are gone by noon! read more
