Everyone in front of the Counter speaks very good English and good enough to have good communication. They are excellent in service and have wide selection in Menu. What important to us are the quality of their food in flavor and freshness. You will see the juicy and moist chicken is being taken out from Grill and cutting them in pieces in front of you. (Not in El Guwapo - their chicken are DRY, their Chicken are coming from the back not able to see if your chicken is being thawed out from fridge or freezer and placed in Micro-wave Oven.They will not include the green and tan sauces not unless you asked for) - we had our lessons from El Guwapo several times and very disappointed finding out their bad services, that is why we keep getting our Peruvian Chicken from this Super Chicken ever since. I gave them 4 stars because they are not perfect). They serves good quantity and their prices are reasonable. Food is delicious but it takes forever to come ! We ordered 3 dishes and they arrived after 45 minutes!!! They would need to organize well as the other person who ordered was so mad looking at his order that they gave it wrong. Others didn't wait but leave.. I really like Super Chicken. I've had takeout 3 or 4 times since I discovered them earlier this year. They're nothing special as far as location or food goes -- I've had this exact food countless times in my life, and the location is a grubby little hole in the wall. But there's something to be said for basic, high quality food, and authentic preparation, even if there's nothing special, unique, or spectacular about any of it. I have not tried too much variety at Super Chicken Manassas -- generally I stick to the core menu of chicken, rice, and beans. All 3 of these have always been excellent. Their charbroiled chicken is great -- delicious seasoning, quality meat, and perfectly cooked, with not too many blackened bits (cancer in my food is a personal pet peeve). My wife and I can't get enough of their fantastic chicken. Their beans are authentic and delicious, seasoned lightly and with just the right level of blandness as beans accompanying a meal of chicken should be, because they're for dipping and for combining with rice and other dishes. Their yellow rice is perfectly cooked and seasoned (again, bordering on bland, which again is correct and accurate for combination). Their Chaufa de Pollo y Carne was very good and a huge portion, but a tad too oily. I plan to try their salchipapas, corn, mashed potatos, and lomo saltado next time... that is if I can convince my wife to give up our core devotion to their chicken, rice, and beans. I'm completely confident that these dishes will also be excellent. Their prices are very cheap for what you get. Good sized portions generally, sometimes quite large. They claim to deliver on their website but I've called 3 or 4 times over the past few years and each time I'm told that they do not deliver. Overall I'm going to keep going back to this place. Good food, good prices, and you always know exactly what you're going to get. I wish more local restaurants were this good and reliable. read more

My food tasted so burned today that ended up just throwing it away. I have come here a couple of times only because my peruvian husband likes this food. If it wasnt for him I would never come here. Customer service is terrible, the girl in the front never speaks loud enough to understand. Three times they have forgotton to give us our drinks with our orders, we only bothered to drive back the first time. I ordered takout once just to arrive 20 minutes later and wait another 20 minutes. Will not be coming back here. read more

Placed an order today to pick up, paid with credit card over the phone and picking up my order I was asked to pay in cash because their system doesn't work with credit cards. May be good food, but if you make your customers wait in line and you don't know what to do in this cases, you have to leave. Six persons in line and the lady next to me asked for a refund! She got tired of waiting for her food. It's a shame my family told me it was an excellent restaurant. So, if you want to try this, carry some cash with you. read more

I was introduced to Super Chicken by a co-worker when they first opened in Manassas. I was hooked from day one. It had been so long since I had good Peruvian style chicken. I used to live in Alexandria and between there and Arlington there were so many good choices. Now I have one close to me in Manassas. I have never had bad chicken from here. I don't really eat any of the side so I cannot really comment on that. I love the green sauce. I generally stop in once a week just to buy 10 of the sauces to use at home with various dishes. (Goes great with scrambled eggs, or smoked turkey legs.) I have also tried the Fried Fish dish from here when a co-worker brought it in. I forget the name but it was very, very good as well. Ceviche is also tasty although not real upscale ceviche. It will still hit the spot though if that's what you are after. Service is always good. I can say that they say they have free delivery but I have called twice to ask for food delivered and they were not delivering that day. Not sure what's the deal there but it doesn't take me too long to get there so I don't mind picking it up. Not a great dine in place to me because in the summer it gets pretty hot in there. Definitely worth checking it out. read more

The only problem I have with Super Chicken is that their chicken is so delicious that I don't want to try anything else on the menu. The chicken is not just Super, it is Superior to any other chicken in town. 1/4 chicken, with yucca and beans over rice is a home run in my book. I love this place! First time I go there because I like trying food from other places...I tried the mix ceviche and the fish and shell-fish tasted awesome, it has the tangy flavor which I like!! I had chicha( purple corn juice) too and it tasted sweet. The appetizer I had was called "papa a la huancaina" which are sliced boiled potatoes with a milky yellow sauce on top with a hard boil egg and olives, and that was phenomenal! My friend had something called "aji de gallina" which also has the yellow sauce but this one came with slices of grilled chicken and nuts...that was good too. I highly recommend this place. Oh an tried their desserts, I had "alfajor" which is two cookies filled with some milky sweet, and "arroz con leche con mazamorra" which is rice pudding on top of purple corn pudding..that was an interesting flavor..Yummy! read more

This review is based on only one visit (although I plan on going again soon!). I just happened to be walking to the Potbelly sandwich shop a few doors down from Super Chicken. From the outside, it's not much to look at but as I walked past, the smell of the Peruvian chicken made me hungry. The place was packed inside with people eating and picking up food to go. I then continued to Potbelly Sandwich Shop and there was only one table with people eating...the place was a ghost town. Having never eaten at either place, I decided to go back to Super Chicken since I figured it has to be decent if there was so much business there. And was I ever right! The gentleman that I spoke to, I think his name was Mario, was so very nice. I was not familiar with several things on the menu but he explained everything to us and even gave us samples so we could decide what to get. The chicken was very good and we had a corn-based drink I never had before that I loved! (sorry...I can't remember what it was called but it was purple). So, if you like chicken and you are in the area, make it a point to give this place a shot. It's not a fancy place but the food was great and to me, that's all it takes to make me go back here. The food is good, but the service makes the place horrible. And this isnt the first time i experiment the horrible service. The last time, we sat down and the gentleman up front told us someone will be right with us, 15 mins later a lady came to our table and asked us what to drink, we got a bottle soda and we asked for cups for 5 of us. She came back with one cup. I had to go up front and ask for cups, then she came back and we asked for ice as well, she brought a pitcher of ice, we took a closer look and the pitcher was dirty inside of it and outside of it. We also asked if she could clean the table and she grabbed a wet paper towel and handed it to my mother to clean. The food came about 20 mins later then everything was good until we got the bill, the lady had charged us $1.50 for the ice and charged us 5 sodas when we got the liter soda, then..... one of the managers came to the front and helped us out and we only paid for one meal which came out to $16.95. I hate to write this because the food is awesome and ive been coming her since they opened here, but they need to fix this problem asap. read more

I first tried this place in December of last year - it's quite close to my home, much closer than Raice's or Guapo's - and I've been visiting about once a month since then. It's almost literally a hole-in-the-wall and they don't have a soda fountain so that you have to get your drinks from the cooler, but the food is excellent and the price for a 1/2 chicken combo (chicken, 2 sides - I always get salad and French fries) is the best I know of in town right now ($9.75 including drink and tax), much better than Raice's, and the quality is quite comparable. Service is pretty decently fast; I customarily go on Friday evenings and my order is ready within 5-10 minutes. Seating is quite limited, so I've been carrying out my order lately (I live just a couple of blocks away so no problem with the food staying hot); the air conditioning seemed to be broken last time I visited. Guapo's is still my favorite pollo a la brasa place in Manassas but I don't get to go up to that part of town much these days, so this is a good substitute. read more
