Let me start by saying, I haven't had a burger in about 8 years... & my, oh my! I'm so glad I had my first one in so long at this lil' spot. Now, all their burgers are cooked "medium," I believe. So if you're anything like my mom (terrified of the ol' mad cow disease) maybe this place aint for you. But if you're a bit more adventurous, and chasin' a juicy & flavorful cut of beef... make this place your go-to. They have house-made pickles available at the condiment bar which really took my burger experience to the next level (I'm a sucker for anything house made!) The fries were just okay for me. Nothing to phone home about. The brown sugar lemonade on the other hand left me with big ol hearts dancin in my eyes! Good, good stuff. Not too sweet & not too tart. I wanted my partner to try a hand-dipped cone so I could live vicariously through him (I'm allergic to dairy, but those pictures looked so damn good that I almost risked it all), but he was too stuffed from his meal. Speaking of which, if you don't eat beef you won't miss out on a good time here. There are a couple of other options. My partner had the chicken sandwich which was also incredibly juicy and packed with flavor. The quality of the bread on that sandwich was out of this world. Super duper is cookin with some pretty seriously fresh ingredients. I hear they're all local and sustainably sourced too (whatever that means). There is plenty of seating inside (if you can't find any, check the overflow seating above ya on the second floor). The place is usually pretty clean. I am very disappointed at the service I encountered today! I have always had a great experience at the other locations in SF and Marin. However, today was different. I ordered online and ordered 2 mini burgers, 3 super duper burgers and 3 shakes. I got there at 5:26pm to pickup my order. I asked the lady working at the front if I can get extra pickles. She responds very rudely, "No, there's only half a jar left. I already gave you two." Excuse me but I ordered 5 burgers! That's just not what I wanted to hear. Especially when I just spent $70! Then I asked her where is my shakes? She goes, " You are suppose to ask for that!" Why do I have to ask for everything I ordered? Also, when I asked if there's bacon on one of the burgers. She goes'" you need to take it out and if you squeeze it you'll see it!" I was shocked that she responded like that. Lastly, when I got home I was missing a burger! I also notice that the garlic fries was lacking garlic and was super greasy. My burger was missing grilled onions when I requested for it. We love Super Duper Burger! Their Berkeley location just started serving breakfast--early enough so I can pick it up on my way to work. And wow! Amazingly fresh and delicious muffins with egg and other fillings (my husband had sausage and cheese; I had cheese and avocado). Far better than anything else similar we've tried! The coffee and orange juice were very good. Hash browns, good if you like the little fried-triangle-cake style, which we do. The donuts are terrifyingly good. Yes, it scares me to live so near a place with "mini-donuts" (not so mini) this good. The ones with sprinkled sugar are so light, so non-greasy, so delicious. Oh no! We utterly love sitting in the dining room. So light and airy, so much great flow, so much wood. Whoever designed this really knew what they were doing. The music also is really good, and just the right volume. On other visits, we had the beef burgers. 10 out of 10. Personally, we love the grass-fed flavor and the juicy messiness. No, it isn't the cheapest burger in town, but to us the money is worth it for the quality, and we can't say that about all the organic food we encounter. Finally, the staff are wonderful. Love this place. Pretty reluctantly giving it four stars instead of five. Burgers: Wonderful. I've only ever gotten the mini burger, cooked medium. I get them with everything + cheese, and they are almost always juicy and delicious. In fact, the only reason I knocked a star is for the one time I got an unfortunately dry burger (but maybe that was just a fluke)! Pickles: As many homemade pickes as you want at the condiments table, which is great. I consider myself a pickle purist (kosher dill, or half-sour pickles, but nothing fancy), there's an odd spice in Super Duper's pickles that I had to get used to. But now I'm pretty hooked! Fries: Simple and crispy. I think the only thing I'd like is a bit more salt. Still need to try the garlic fries. Ice Cream and milkshakes: Organic vanilla soft-serve to die for. It's expensive ($3+ for a kiddie cone) but well worth it. I've tried it with and without the chocolate dip, and I think the ice cream shines best without all the extras. The strawberry milkshake is also delicious, but was once a little runnier than I prefer. Donuts: I think this is more of a hidden gem on the menu (unless it's more popular than I realize?) If you are looking for a mid range burger joint, highly recommend checking out this spot. It's your typical burger joint with choice of burger, veggie, chicken, salads, and drinks. My sister got the regular burger with cheese and I got the chicken sandwich ($8.00 each). What's unique about this place is the house made pickles~ They are super crunchy, fresh, and has the right amount of brine. I don't know if it was a Saturday special or something but they were giving out free mini donuts!!! I tried the chocolate one, it was not too sweet and freshly fried, perfect size for a snack! Chicken sandwich was pretty hefty, bigger than the burger. It comes on a ciabatta bread instead of a regular hamburger bun. The breast was grilled perfectly, the aioli sauce was pretty rich so this sandwich doesn't need cheese. Love how they also have tomatoes and lettuce with it. I tried a bit of my sisters burger and it was very juice, cooked medium. The only downside is that the burger and sandwich were both greasy so it was difficult to eat, my sandwich started to fall apart halfway through. Oh man, this burger was amazing. My friends and I have been waiting for Super Duper to open ever since we heard the announcement and we were right to be. Their burgers are pretty simple but they're done right and that makes them amazing. From my first bite, everything tasted really fresh and really good. The menu specifies that all burgers are cooked medium and I was skeptical and their "juiciness" but I was so so wrong. Juice was dripping out of the bottom, onto my hands, it was kind of the best kind of mess. For all you vegetarians out there, my friends declared the veggie burger the best they've had in the bay area (with their previous reining champ being Locol). Before I visited here, I thought Super Duper is the best burgers in CA. I went to 2 other locations in SF, and I loved their burgers in both locations. So I had very high expectation to dine in here. The place was nice, it's new and spacious, clean. But I was kind of disappointed at the taste of the burger. I ordered super duper burger with bacon and cheese, and fries as a side. Overall, the burger was tasteless, and not warm enough. There were maybe less sauce in the burgers, or meat, the taste was very different from what I had previously in other locations. It was very average-level burger, nothing was special but OK. These were maybe the kitchen may not be trained enough to provide good food yet, so I may try to eat here again sometime, but not soon. read more

The order taker warned us that the fresh lemonade we were ordering was made with brown sugar, almost as if he was worried. He should have been worried, that we'd grab the whole container and take it to our table. Yum yum. And the swirl ice cream? I ate too much of it, that tasty. The staff were very pleasant to us and paid close attention to our orders, which to our delight came up surprisingly quick. Super Duper Burgers has a variety of table sizes so you can go alone, with a special someone, or take a hungry group. We have been supporting this place all through Covid. It's organic and the food is acceptable. After today's events, we aren't coming back. During our long wait my girlfriend was tired and needed to sit down. There were no chairs, so she sat on one of the tables. The manager came over and demanded that she get off. He said that they have to clean the table whenever someone sits down. In fact the table hadn't been cleaned in a while and had food stains and food particles. (see attached picture). A second manager came over and said that it was disrespectful to sit on their table. Power Trip Alert! My friend and I have been going to this Super Duper ever since the Covid started. You might say we have supported them during a time when no one else went there, we were there twice a week. They are very slow, but I figured they are making it fresh, so sat down to wait with no complaint. We even tipped them extravagantly, keeping in mind they were providing a service with some risk. Today, we went again, and noticed that all the seats had chairs put on them, to prevent people from sitting I assume, although, what possible difference can there be between a sitting and standing customer as far as Covid infection is concerned? If anything, a stander would be blowing out MORE virus. Since the wait was 30 minutes, I sat on the edge of a table by the open door. When we were the very last customer, having waited for a full 30 minutes, one server started to yell at us from the counter. My friend courteously went up to find out what was up. We were told that I had to stop sitting. I asked why? He said that people were eating on that table! So not true, NO ONE can eat indoors now. He also said they would have to disinfect that table if I sat on the edge. I pointed out that if I put my hands on it they would also have to disinfect. They were very adamant and in fact threw us out with a "refund" and no food. They failed to give us back our 20% tip, only refunding the food part. They refused to give us back the $3.88 tip. Insult and injury both! My own theory is that they have blocked off the benches with chairs so that they would not have to disinfect AT ALL. In the 30 minutes we were waiting, they did NOT disinfect, not even once, even though there were a dozen people in the store. To be specific, the table I sat on the edge of had not been cleaned in a very LONG time - see photo below of long standing BIG smudge, which had NOTHING to do with me. (It is pretty hazy, but there is a big smudge and crumbs on the lower part I am pointing to, I sat on the upper part, which is clean). I can see that where I sat is CLEANER than the rest of the table. These LAZY people do not want to disinfect, so they blocked ALL sitting surfaces, NEVER clean ANY surfaces, AND evict a steady customer quite rudely, without full refund. I should mention that on previous visits, they ALWAYS cleaned and disinfected all the tables at least once while we were waiting. With such long wait times, being able to sit seems minimally required, especially for us seniors. There is no additional seating to be added, just not blocked from being usable. I think management should take a look at how THIS Super Duper is being run - is it to benefit customers, the owners, or LAZY, ANGRY service people? I am just going to guess here that the servers are going to LIE about what actually happened. Too bad there are no videos, or is there?? Maybe management might want to install some surveillance to see how THEIR property is being used or rather, abused? I have some sympathy that in these times, anxious people want some control over SOMETHING, but really, abusing the customers is NOT a good option. read more

I've visited a few times now, and everything has been consistently good. Tasty burger with nice lettuce (which is hard to come by!), soft and slightly sweet bun, crispy skin-on fries. I like the mini burger; it's the right size to leave me room for a side of fries. The regular fries are delicious. I like that they're light on the salt. Although I rarely get veggie burgers, a friend of mine recommended theirs, and to my surprise, it's my favorite sandwich now. If you're vegan, you can get it without cheese and with a dairy-free bun. I usually get takeout, and I like how everything is packaged up neatly. I always stop at this place for something sweet after eating at sliver. The soft serve ice cream options are huge and delicious, and you can get them chocolate dipped too if you're in the mood to treat yourself (which is personally my favorite way to have soft serve ). If you want something salty, getting a side of fries to share is a nice touch. Only quip I have is that the ice cream is a little pricey and the burgers are kind of plain to me personally.
