Reopened last Friday, 9/15/23. My friend and I attended last night and it was just as we remembered it. Parking lot was packed, service was immediate, and they kept the food stocked. I'd say it's 99% the same food and it was fantastic. Glad to have it back! read more

I like this place. They do everything pretty good. From the fried rice to the French fries, all the food was hot and ready to be served. I came on a Sunday so it was all day dinner. There was a pleasant surprise in the dim sum section with Lotus Leaf Wrapped Sticky Rice. A staple of dim sum culture, not many buffets have this dish. It was tasty. Some hot food highlights are the fried rice, honey walnut shrimp, sweet and sour chicken just to name a few. Check the photos cause it could be here all day if I were to list all the times. The sushi is surprisingly much better than I remember. Everything else I had you can kinda tell it is buffet food if that makes sense. The people are nice and the place looks exactly the same as pre-Covid. It isn't quality food by any means and the price was $16 a person with no drink for lunch. I think for the price and food quality I highly recommend visiting fj buffet if you like buffets like this so far fj is the best one I've been to. 15.99 a person with drink included and food tastes more quality. Best value buffet for sushi would be makato in Vancouver but always a ton of people. Overall I'd say it's a decent buffet with the convenience of being close into Portland. It is identical to the way it used to be if you were here pre Covid. But if you aren't near the area I'd recommend checking out the others I mentioned. read more

My husband and I took our kids here for dinner the other night and it was awful. The crab was old and way over cooked, the honey walnut shrimp tasted old and stale. Okay, true confession. I was taking a group of seniors on a monthly trip I organize. I honestly did not have high expectations but they offered a senior discount and it was close to the thrift shops we were hitting up on our epic wine-box widow bargain hunters extravaganza. Well! I will be damned. I thought it was gonna be some kind of knock off Country Buffet place with a side order of e-coli. WRONG! They had a really good selection of Asian food including many of my dim sum favorites like sticky rice and shumai. AND, I am a huge fan of sweet and sour soup. Well, they have a soup bar and their hot and sour was awesome. They also have a salad bar, a whole table of the crabby fried stuff and stuff I don't eat like jello, but hey, I stuck to what I know and like. The prices were good and the quality was surprisingly good. Seemed like many people were there for the quantity, and that's cool too. I liked the variety, especially of unique dishes for the price point, mainly going between just two serving tables. Staff were running around from table to table, many speak broken English so it's hard to understand and they probably have to work that much harder bc of the language barrier. The ladies LOVED their dining experience and I enjoyed the fact that I had a great meal AND didn't get food poisoning. Extra points for a decent restroom and easy parking, including ease of access for our two lift busses. My pick gives me major street cred with the ladies! I am looking forward to going back when I don't have an army of older women with me so I can relax a little more and explore. read more

Something to add, a dear friend of mine recently came to this buffet and ended up in the hospital the following day due to their dirty utensils. Swollen face and throat with sores and can't breathe. This place is absolutely disgusting and needs to be shut down. Not only that but it took me 3 weeks to recover from food poisoning here just last month. I didn't have high expectations when visiting SKB ... having said that, this place didn't even meet my low expectations. The parking lot was full which I took as a good sign, it was almost 1pm on a weekday so I was hopeful that we missed the lunch crowd but not so. The place was filled with groups but large enough to not have a wait. The food was "blah" .. my kid kept saying "this doesn't taste like chicken ... or onion rings ... or ice cream". Went here with a friend for lunch and, considering the price, the buffet was adequate, nothing really outstanding or even very good and nothing I would recommend other than the variety. To be fair there's likely something here for everyone: salads, soups, sweets, noodles, sushi, dumplings, several traditional Chinese dishes, bread, french fries -- the list goes on and on. I enjoyed some of the sushi (I played it safe with eel rolls and California rolls) but steered clear of the raw fish. A few of the chicken dishes were acceptable. I highly recommend coming here for a vegetarian lunch. They have a wide variety of veggie dishes and they always refill the food in a timely manner. Plus it's only $10 for the lunch buffet. I also came here to eat for dinner and I thought it's pretty decent for a dinner buffet. Imo, it's definitely better than the ones down the road. They kept their trays full all the time. I mostly munched on the veggies options. As for the rest of the food, it's hit or miss--sometimes it's good and sometimes not. But it's always fresh and hot! The type of crab they served was my favorite. They also have a small sushi bar. I didn't try any though. There's a self serve soft ice cream machine, too. Service was good. I know buffets are usually quantity over quality so I'm not sure why I decided to come for lunch. I was escorted to a booth that hadn't been wiped down from the last customers. I was haded a water almost immediately which was nice until I noticed a piece of wet food on the rim of the cup. It seemed like there were lots of meat options but the food was not hot, looked like it had been sitting out for awhile. I saw a long black hair in the wontons while making my round. Nothing I ate had much taste which was weird, all really really bland. I can't even think about anything that WAS good. Nothing was great. Bathroom was gross! There was a open trash bin I was watching as plates of uneaten food were being slapped into it by the people who work there. I still dont know why I bothered trying this place. Food was great, about 90% of it, and it was fresh and there were lots of different foods. Went on a Friday afternoon at about 1:00pm (just before Xmas) and had very little expectations, but was very impressed, especially for the price point. And the dessert cakes were really good. read more

This place was just what we expected. Basic food, basic service, basic everything. Nothing exciting to write home to mom and dad about, but also nothing really wrong with the joint. You'll find everything you'd expect at a massive buffet. Some good food, some gross food. Its all personal preference at that point. The bathrooms were disgusting, so bring hand sanitizer. This place was actually very good for a buffet. The location leaves much to be desired, however. Don't let that fool you though! This buffet focused on seafood and Asian style cuisines, therefore there is always plenty of fresh, yummy food stocked and ready to eat. My favorites included the warmed crab salad, pork buns, the beef and broccoli and all things chicken! This was a surprising gem to have found, and I will most likely return. read more

I had to drop the rating because they don't honor birthdays. I called they said its 50% off which sounded awesome but then when I showed up the guy said I need to be with someone, but I don't have any friends and all my family members are dead. I was more than willing to pay the half off meal, but he wouldn't let me, so I changed a $20 bill and gave him $5 to keep for himself. Worst food ever in any Chinese buffet. Food is looking fresh and so may choices, however when you eat them it was so horrible. Crasfish with black meat, Lobster is shrunk and dried. Crab seafood look like 3 days old. Everything look like they rebook the left over from yesterday or over cook. My kids could eat anything and said the Pepsi, frozen yogurt are the best in this restaurant. Myself only I think fresh is shrimps and sushi. I swear that never come back this place again and same thing with my kids. Just really waste my time, my money and my appetite. My dads choice for a quick lunch. I had a 7th birthday here when it was the Organ Grinder. I remember it clearly, because while my friends where downstairs playing games, I was upstairs opening all my presents by myself. My favorite was a My Little Pony "Flutter Pony". This was the kind that had skinnier legs, and had plastic rainbow like wings that you could press a little button, and the wings could go up or down. It was amazing. As you can imagine, shortly later I had to apologize to all my guests for opening my presents early, and being a selfish little brat. Fast forward about 15 years, and the Organ Grinder was now some sort of nightclub. with dancing. I went with some friends for ladies night. Later, I had to apologize to them for bringing them to this grungy, divey night club. I apologized by buying them all I HOP (next door). Last weekend I asked my dad where he wanted to go, and he wanted Super King Buffet. Dammit. I'm down 15 lbs and eating at a buffet isn't going to help me stay on track. I tried. I had bok choy, edemame, some sushi and hot and spicy soup. It was all very basic and bland. Oversalted, overcooked. Sushi loaded with cream cheese and avocado, which is garbage. I found a dish or two that was okay. The steamed pork buns are fine, and scallion pork is okay is small quantities. Everything else about this place is what you should except from a buffet, 1 star. Come hungry because the buffet is $13.99. The shrimp is more like the size of prawns...but they haven't been deveined so it's actually more like crawfish. Also, like crab, it looks like more work than its worth. Me? I don't eat anything that comes with it's eyes staring at me or phalanges still attached. They will saute up a bowl of stir fry for you, with whatever ingredients you hand them, but there's a tip jar, so you want to bring extra cash if that's what you want. There's sushi - which looks really fresh. The salad bar left a little to be desired, but that's only because I wanted all the fatty stuff like croutons and bacon bits and what I found was a lot of veggies. Who knows? Maybe I wasn't even at the salad bar, but the stir fry selection. They have stuff for kids like pizza...or for the adult who doesn't like American Chinese or Japanese food or salad. The dessert bar is where they failed. All I found was some pudding, some coconut cake, some apple chutney and an ice milk machine - with a bottle of chocolate sauce and caramel sauce sitting next to it. For the same price, you will get much better at the buffet down the road about a mile - that rhymes with Comb Down Soufflet. All that said, the yakisoba, sticky rice, fried rice and all the meats made for some good Chinese food. I'd just rather have spent less, since I only eat one plate and don't waste a plate or 2, like I always see other people do at the buffets (which is what drives the pries up so high). The restaurant used to be the Organ Grinder, but instead of being dark and dismal, it's been remodeled and is very light and airy now. You even enter on a different side and cross over a Koi pond wishing well, to reach the hostesses podium. The place is clean, but not immaculate. But then, it was Mother's Day and the place was a mad house of families. Everyone was walking around with giant plates of food while I wondered "Are they tasting the same stuff I'm tasting?" I went on a Sunday so lunch cost $16! I felt like i had been robbed. I took a bite on some noodles and they tasted like the stale, mildew odor of an outdoor garage. I think I probably only ate about $0.05 worth of food. It's has a large selection, for a Chinese buffet they have a little of everything hamburgers, sushi, chow mein ect. I've only been here twice both times the place was fairly empty, both times it was early on a Saturday the food is always hot and the pans/ trays are never empty long. The ambiance is better then hometown buffet in my opinion, I'm not a big buffet person but this establishment is in my top 5 for the Price and selection. read more
