No frills dumpling spot on the UES. I enjoyed their dumplings and would definitely recommend them. The skin is on the thick side and they have some very interesting fried dumps that I've never seen but my friend told me it was Beijing style. Honestly this is also the ONLY spot in the area I could find dumplings soooooo I don't have much to compare to around here. However, i did like the dumplings and it is always recommended on reddit (I don't know if that's worth a lot)! All in all I have no complaints of this place. This is another hole-in-the-wall spot I picked up a bag of frozen pork dumplings from. These are wonderful, however, I would make sure you know how to cook them at home first before attempting to just throw them in the air fryer directly like I did my first round! They also offer green vegetable dumplings, which are filled with bits of noodle, mushroom, egg, corn and carrot. These are better than I expected, but super doughy and if over cooked, easily fall apart, spilling their contents everywhere. This place also has REALLY good soy sauce. Upon stepping inside, you can smell and hear the kitchen. The ladies are actively yelling orders and telling people to watch out, dumplings are sizzling and orders are being taken. The dumplings here are different than one might expect. If I could compare it to another food, it would be taquitos. Filling is delicately wrapped but not fully enclosed. I ordered 40 dumplings for my group and waited approximately 15 minutes (longest wait time of the tour). The dumplings came out extremely hot and crispy. Due to the way that these dumplings are wrapped, they do not retain as much moisture as others but that is addressed by using their dumpling sauce. Super taste was a stop on my recent DIY Chinatown food tour. We were already a bit full, but couldn't miss the Super Taste dumplings! We opted for the Sichuan style because we like a little spice. Its Viral on Tiktok so I had to add it to my list. Set out on a walking tour to hit the viral hautes of chinatown and SuperTaste was our 2nd stop. Its a small restaurant with about 4 tables. You go up to the counter and order; if you're lucky, you can grab a table. I ordered a steamed pork and chive dumpling as well as a fried pork and chive dumpling. $11 later, I got 10 fried dumplings and 10 steamed. There were 3 adults and 1 kid. I was tempted but I got the burning noodles with chicken for $10. The noodles were hand pulled and chewy. I loved the mixture of different flavors and ingredients. It had cilantro, crushed peanuts, spicy sauce and mixed with the hot oil on the table, it had great flavor. It definitely was not burning hot or very spicy at all but it still had great flavor. Took myself on a Chinatown food crawl and had to stop by Super Taste. It's a small shop with about 7 small tables crammed in against the wall with a line of people down the center and out the door ordering and waiting for food. You order at the register. That accept cards. There was a cashier and 3 people in the kitchen preparing food. They're quick loud and efficient. They yelled your number and ur food is ready. I had the fried pork and chive dumplings. Very meaty and well flavored 8/10; chicken dumplings were tender and well flavored 8/10. There were 10 pieces in each dish at around 6.00 for each. Thus, it seems extra crowded due to everyone standing in line for their order in the narrow aisle in the restaurant neck and neck to people eating beside you. In addition, bring cash! The day I went it was all cash only. Also, you have to be quick on your feet to snag a table since it's extremely busy inside. As for the food, we ordered the fried pork and chive open faced dumplings. These dumplings essentially look like fried gyoza, but both ends of the dumpling are open. I really liked how crispy the dumplings were since I LOVE a crispy, fried dumpling. The meat itself did not have too much flavor alone and the open ends of the dumpling meant it was meant to not hold juice inside. That meant I had to drown the dumplings in black vinegar and chili oil. While they tasted really good and the chili oil was great, I have mixed feelings about needing to douse my food in a sauce in order for it to taste good/have enough flavor. read more

Potentially the best pork bao (gua bao) that I've ever had in my life. It's seasoned generously with crushed peanut, and the pork belly slice is the perfect proportion each time I've had it. The price is well worth, not inflated like the rest of New York City. 10 dumplings for less than $8 is unheard of. I haven't seen those prices since 2005. Their hand pulled noodles are also delicious. The dan dan mian is not too salty, has great texture, and is well-rounded in flavor. The interior is... efficient to say the least.
