Just amazing deal, 15 dumplings for $5. Cash only, so make sure you bring it. And the line was about 30 min long on a Saturday mid afternoon. Still worth it if you're willing to wait!!
By far the best value of dumplings in Chinatown. $5 for 15 pan fried pork and chive dumplings. Not only are they cheap, but so delicious! Homemade thick wrappers are chewy and perfectly pan fried with juicy filling. The experience is authentic- walk up window to a Chinese auntie who doesn't really take your order as much as hands you a container of dumplings. I've also tried the steamed buns (10 for $5), which I liked even more! Hearty and super filling. No seating, but plenty of doorstops nearby. Will be my new go-to.

Unfortunately, I didn't have any on me, but some people in line were kind enough to exchange cash for my Venmo payment. If you end up here without cash, I recommend either asking someone nearby or stopping at a bank before coming. I've seen this place all over social media, and honestly, I wish it was talked about more on Yelp and Google too because it's such a hidden gem outside of social media. I was lucky enough to find it, and the value is unbelievable,$5 for 15 dumplings! I ordered the pork and chive dumplings, and they came out piping hot and fresh. You can even watch them being made right in front of you. The flavor was delicious, and for the price, it's hard to beat. My only small critique is that the dumpling wrapper was a little thicker than I personally prefer. I tend to like thinner wrappers, but honestly, that's a minor complaint considering how affordable and filling they are. The staff was very kind and efficient. They didn't chat much, but they were friendly and kept the line moving. They also have Sriracha, soy sauce, forks, and everything else you might need available outside. The line can get pretty long because of how popular this place is, but it's absolutely worth the wait. If you're visiting New York and looking for a cheap, authentic, and delicious bite, this spot is a must-visit.

Paired with the black vinegar sauce, they were delicious. There is no seating, which is a little unfortunate, and make sure you bring cash. The customer service is about what you would expect from a small hole in the wall spot, but you really do not need much. Just hand them your cash and get your dumplings. For the price and the quality, I would definitely recommend trying this place if you are visiting.

Little walk up window, no where to sit (you're lucky if you get napkins or utensils), where you just order and walk away (park across the street has some benches and tables). Super fast service, have your order and cash ready to go!!! It's cool to see everyone in the back making all the dumplings. Dumplings were perfectly fried on one side, and the chive and pork mix inside was juicy. Love this little hole in the wall dumpling shop and will definitely return!

This is easily the best $5 you could spend it NYC! $5 for 15 of the most incredible chive and pork dumplings. The dough is on the thicker side but it's fried to perfection and has the most perfect chewiness to it. The chive and pork filling is like no other. Perfect ratio and extremely flavorful. This is a cash and take out only place, so come prepared.
Jin Mei dumplings were great. Got there right before the rush, cash only place. Filling is great and generous and they have a few sauces on the side as well. The buns were delicious. Definitely one of the best in Chinatown. Get there too late and they will sell out.

You may have to share the space with others, as it is mostly a takeout spot. The dumplings were fine, it was not my favorite. The wrapper is a bit thick, and the meat not as flavorful or generous as I would like? Personally, I do prefer steamed over fried though, and my friend loved it so he ate it all. Great value deserves 5 star rating. It was a trek to get here and when we arrived, we knew we were in the right place due to the only place we saw that had a long line. Many things listed on the many but many not available and you just ordered without knowing the price. We ordered a box of the pan fried dumplings and a box of the steamed pork buns. After ordering the lady said $10.00. Being that there are no places there to eat, we walked to the nearest spot we can stand to eat. A year ago, I thought the pork buns were okay. Today -- it's a craving! $5 for 10 small and juicy pork buns but it's often sold out. The $5 for 15 fried pork dumplings are still yummy even if they isn't a lot of meat. Add the sauce from the counter and eat them while they're fresh. Get the 15 pork and chive dumplings for $5! There was a line but it moves quick, they're pumping these bad boys out fast. Can't quite explain it but there's just the perfect doughy chew to these dumplings. Not very stuffed with filling but good flavor and great texture. It's affordable, quick, and filling. I got the 15 pan fried dumplings for $5 and although there may be a line, it moves quickly. You order at the counter and they package the food and hand it over. I paid cash. The dumplings are delicious, there is a deep soy sauce flavor to the filling and the dumplings are crispy and oily. Perfect place to go if you're in the area and hungry. read more
One of the best dumpling deals you can find in Chinatown. $5 for 15 dumplings is just too good of a deal - in Taiwan we would classify this as good "CP" value (cost-performance). It's equivalently priced to getting bulk frozen dumplings (50 for $15), but they cook it for you right there! The skin is super chewy (my preference). They ran out of steamed dumplings so we got pan-fried -- which was not really pan-fried. They took a box and handed it to us, and the dumplings were already getting soft/soggy. Been coming here for years and was surprised to see the sudden uptick in customers. Guess the word got out that they're the best deal in town. Tucked away in the quiet part of Chinatown, you would never realize that they were serving up a deal. They sell numerous items but the main sell here is their $5 for 15 fried dumplings. Are they the best in town? No. But spray on the watered down soy sauce and hot sauce, and they're perfect. It used to be the quickest too but thanks to TikTok, the line is stupid long. I'm so obsessed with these dumplings. $5 is just too good of a deal, and this perfectly satisfies my craving for a savory bite whenever I'm in the area. You go up to their door and place your order directly with the staff. The dumplings are on the doughier side, which I prefer. The pan fry preparation creates such a nice crispy crust. Don't know how I'm just now discovering this place. This is a dictionary definition of affordable, good eats--15 dumplings for $5 seems unreal nowadays. But it is real! Super quick. The kitchen constant churns out dumplings, so they're sitting ready to be handed out. I really like the meat filling flavor. This place is fantastic. Whether you're in the area and want some fresh dumplings, or if you're planning a party or even just restocking your freezer, Jin Mei has some incredible dumplings. I came here for some pan fried dumplings, as well a frozen bag of pork and chive dumplings. You'll get a great deal here. I got like 25 frozen dumplings for $12 and a hot to-go container full of pan-fried dumplings for $5. The owner is sweet but doesn't speak much English. One thing I recommend doing, which I did not, is going online to search how to cook the frozen dumplings at home. I completely missed the mark my first 2 tries. If I'm not mistaken, they should be steamed/boiled first and then pan fried or air fried? Pan frying definitely came out the best. I'd love to come back and try every single thing on their menu. A Chinatown classic, this dumpling spot has blown up for it's affordable eats! Here, you can get 15 pork and chive dumplings (either fried or steamed) for only $5. And, that's exactly what I did. Fortunately, when I went there was practically no wait and when you go up to order, they are able to bring the dumplings out to you immediately. You can drench your dumplings with their soy sauce and/or siracha, and both are great. The dumplings have lots of pork filling in the middle and they are chewy and juicy. There's no seating indoor or outdoor (it's just a to-go spot) so you'll have to eat at some steps or standing. It's hard to find another spot like this nowadays in NYC and I will definitely be coming back! read more

absolutely in-CREDIBLE!! i'm so happy we found this spot online and committed to going. I thought the 15 for $5 was too good to be true, but it's true! they only accept cash, but the dumplings are heavenly. they come out steaming, and are made fresh. not a lot of parking, the shop seems to be run out of a makeshift apartment building, so i'd recommend walking if possible. will definitely be going back next time i'm in NYC! read more

Jin Mei has extremely cheap dumplings, $5 for 15, and the buns are $5 for 10. The dumplings have very little meat filling, though, and lack flavor. I would say come here for a cheap meal, but if you're looking for quality dumplings in Chinatown you should check out some other places. They are just a store window, so there is no seating. The lady who runs the shop is friendly and helpful. read more
i love a whole in the wall spot, and this was a really cute one. the dumplings were not my favorite (a bit too chewy and thick of a wrapper for my taste), but you do get a lot for $5! you can tell this is a neighborhood favorite and they churn out a lot of dumplings here. Note that if you come later at night, they only have the fried pork and chives dumplings (and little else from their menu).
