I came here with two friends, and we waited in line for a few minutes before getting seated. The space is extremely tight, but they make it work. The ladies are quick and asked for our order. We got the tomato egg noodles and pork pancake. The pork pancake was flavorful with the meat being tender and pastry crispy. The ratio is about right between bread and meat. The egg tomato did lack some umami and I wished it was saucier, saltier, sweeter. Otherwise, we had a good time.

Ordered their Spicy Chicken Huimei and thought it was a generous portion. The texture of these noodles are now one of my favorite in the city and I love how easy the chicken falls off the bone, although I wish there was more chicken and less noodles in the portion. Spiciness was very manageable but they keep chili oil on each table in case you need more spice. Will definitely need to order some appetizers next time! The chopsticks are very round and smooth which made them a little hard to use, but that could just be a skill issue. The restaurant is pretty small and in a hole-in-the-wall area. They provide plenty of water and the waitress was very attentive. I'd say the place seats about 16 people total, so keep that in mind. Remember to bring cash!

Ah the classic Spicy Village, always a dependable place with a bit of a wait; service is so fast that generally people shuffle in pretty quickly though! The food here is great; they are known for their noodles and the big plate chicken (description accurate). Even after so many years, it is still so very delicious. Cash only, but there is an atm right outside!

We got a beef brisket noodle soup and lamb dry noodles. Meats were dry and soup was subtle at best; I've had better. Dry noodles were more flavorful which is expected. Saving grace is the chewy, fresh noodles which always makes a huge difference for me. No issues with service. Decent amount of seating for small groups inside.

Service: 4.3/5 Food: 3.3/5 Price: $ (under $20) Nice staff, I think they can understand/speak both Mandarin + Cantonese or at least some related dialect. Our server clarified with my grandma her order to prevent her from ordering the wrong thing (lamb innards). It's your typical small Chinatown restaurant, but they make the most of their space to optimize seating. They play Chinese buddhist hymns as background music, which made me internally giggle. Still riding the tail end of their trendiness. Decent chewy noodles which are more knife-cut than hand-pulled style. Good size portions with flavors that are more comforting than impressive. What I Ordered: - Egg + Tomato Dry Hand-Pulled Noodles: "dry"- saucy, good veggies - Lamb Hand-Pulled Noodles: overcooked lamb, mixed noodles (thick + clear), no good bamboo

I have come here perhaps 3 times in the last ten years and this place is unbeatable in terms of price, quality, and taste. They have their chili oil on the side. I ordered a humei with soup in the summer and I think the soup was a mistake. Next time I will get the dry noodles. Updated 2026- got the dry noodles. Add TONS of chili oil!!!! Lowkey hole in the wall vibe and fast service.

Quickly stopped by for a to go order, cash only! Super small place and hole in the wall! Don't expect anything fancy, eat and go type of thing. Love that they gave me paper microwavable to go containers. The scallion pork dumplings was delish! I added some white vinegar when I went home (cause I like vinegar in general) and I can't wait to be back!

This is a hole in the wall place with 3 servers in a tiny room. You will most likely going to share a table with strangers, which we don't mind. The food was really good especially the dumplings. I can probably eat two plates of those. The chili sauce was awesome too.

I almost walked right by this place. I was told they are known for their hand pulled noodles so I had to go with one of those dishes. I went with the Black Bean Sauce Huimei w/ pork. Everything tasted fresh. The bok choy gave it a nice taste combination. Very informal setting/ hole in the wall. The staff was nice. I'd love to come back and try their oxtail. Food is inexpensive and easy to get to with public transportation. Cash only!

Good cheap eats in Chinatown with outdoor seating. Portion sizes were perfect for one person the big hot chicken is good for sharing. Heavily cumin flavored (that's how I LIKE IT!!!) and not tooo spicy which is nice. service was standard and food came out really fast. Go a little before 6:30 pm to avoid dinner crowd/line.

plentiful portions, no frills but great flavor! I only knocked a star because the pancake was quite salty, and i couldn't finish my half because it was a little too much - i almost preferred to just eat the bread. For someone who might enjoy chili or things extra packed with flavor, this app is right up your alley. the beef noodle soup was really hearty and filling, i couldn't finish it! The highlight was the dumplings. really juicy and delicious without being super heavy and greasy. expect a line during peak times esp at dinner but you can get seated within 15 min or so. don't recommend more than 3 people.

I went with a friend on a Wednesday night and there was no wait but almost all the seats were full. This place is CASH ONLY. We ordered 4 or so dishes. I'm still dreaming about the pancake with beef - we ended up ordering it again after devouring the first one. The noodle and dumplings were also delicious - I actually ended up saving some of the dry noodles for the next day because I overindulged on the pancakes but it was still pretty delicious the next day. Service is efficient. My friend and I were chatting it up and I think they were ready to close so we got out of their way. It can be a bit loud since it is a smaller space!

Got off the E train and when we looked for Chinese food, this place popped up with good reviews and it was just a short walk from where we got off the train. My buddies ordered the special lunches and we also got two types of xlb's, beef chow fun, and some fried dumplings. The special lunches come with a little fried rice, cold garlic flavored noodle, choice of egg drop or hot and sour soup, and main side. My buddies all enjoyed their meals. The beef chow fun was also really good and beef was nice and tender. The xiao long baos were excellent and is comparable to any place in California like DTF. Nice and juicy and great with some ginger, soy sauce, and spicy chili. Friendly service and food comes out pretty quickly. Credit card is accepted. Bathroom was also very clean, which is sometimes rare in some Chinese restaurants I have been to. If you're looking for a good Chinese meal, stop here when you're in the Chelsea area.

"How 'bout there?" he responded pointing to Excellent Dumpling House. It was directly across the street. I pulled up Yelp, saw good reviews and readily agreed. At 3:30, the restaurant was empty. There were a few takeout orders, but we were the only people sitting down for late lunch. And y'know ... it was pretty good. Wonton soup is what I'd expect in Chinatown. Wonton wrappers were thin -- my preference -- the stuffing delicious and the broth flavorful. They were generous with the beef in our chow fun. Good, but the noodles needed a jolt. So I asked for soy sauce which was sort of a solution. Shrimp with vegetables was great. A lot of shrimp, too. There are lunchtime specials on weekdays, reasonable prices, and nice people work there. Next time it makes sense to try dumplings since it is, after all a dumpling house.

Located within the historic Chelsea Market building--a former Nabisco factory where Oreo cookies were first produced--the restaurant feels theatrical in the best possible way. The soaring ceilings, dramatic lighting, and energetic atmosphere create a sense of occasion from the moment you walk in. It feels less like simply going out to dinner and more like stepping into a beautifully staged production. I started with a Botanist Gin Martini with a twist, which paired wonderfully with the meal. The surprise star of the evening was the new Cucumber Tiger Salad. The balance of flavors was exceptional: bright acidity, a pleasant touch of heat, and just enough mint to make each bite feel fresh and exciting. Every so often the mint would come through and suddenly all the flavors would click together in a way that made me immediately want another bite. This is a dish I would happily order again. Next came the Edamame Dumplings. They were delicate and comforting, especially when enjoyed with the accompanying broth. The broth adds depth and richness that elevates the entire dish. My only suggestion would be the slightest touch more salt, perhaps even a finishing sprinkle of black volcanic salt for both flavor and presentation. I also found myself wishing there were a bit more of that delicious broth because it contributes so much to the overall experience. For my entrée, I ordered the Glazed Alaskan Black Cod, and it absolutely lived up to its reputation. The fish was rich, buttery, and perfectly prepared. What impressed me most was how thoughtfully the accompaniments were composed. The pickled cucumbers brought brightness, acidity, and crunch, while the black bean and eggplant relish delivered deep savory notes and unexpected complexity. I'm generally not an eggplant fan, but this relish was outstanding. The cucumbers and relish sit at opposite ends of the flavor spectrum, yet both somehow make the cod even better. Looking back, I think a glass of Sauvignon Blanc alongside the cod would have been the perfect pairing. I finished with the Miso Caramel Milk Bar, which was spectacular. Decadent, sweet, salty, and touched with just enough umami to keep every bite interesting. The chocolate crumble underneath added a wonderful crunch that contrasted beautifully with the creamy ice cream and luscious caramel sauce. Every component worked together perfectly, creating a dessert that was both indulgent and sophisticated. From start to finish, the meal felt polished, thoughtful, and memorable. Thank you!
