I've been going to Manolo's for a few years and had good experiences with Jessica G and Jessica C…read more The most recent time, I got a cut with Christina, who I didn't realize was a newer stylist at the salon. I felt like she did not truly listen to my requests (also loudly chewed her gum while she styled me), and cut my hair shorter than I requested. I made my desired length clear at the start of the session and also provided several inspiration photos. She chopped my hair about 3 inches shorter than my desired length and took off volume in her attempts to layer it. My cut turned out to be wispy and short. When I contacted the salon owner, Lauren, letting her know I was unhappy with my cut and experience, she only said "sorry" and defended the stylist. No offer to fix or remedy or anything to make me want to return to the salon. So I won't be back. Neither will my daughter, who has had 2 haircut there. Let this be a lesson to anyone thinking about visiting this salon: Choose your stylist carefully and know that Manolo's will not make any attempts to fix a stylist's mistake.

My long over due review…read more.. My search is finally over for a hairstylist who listens to what i want, who gives her honest suggestions, and who doesn't charge $500 to cut and color my hair. Thank you Payton for taking care of me every time I'm there. Payton is seriously a God send. One day, in October i came in to Scissory No.54 to see if anyone was available for a cut and color. Mind you this was at 3:30pm. there was no available on the spot to do my hair but the the receptionist was so pleasant and asked if i wanted to make an appointment for a later time. Because i have never had my hair done here, I was made an appointment with Payton. I am SO happy that she was the chosen one for my hair. I came in with washed out red hair that i got done in Koreatown and paid an arm and a leg form. I walked out with a beautiful trim and naturally colored hair (does that even make sense?). I just loved how natural the color turned out and how Peyton cut my hair just to my liking. She didn't want to change my whole look but i feel like she wanted me to be a better version of me... (does that make sense?) Anyway, Thank you Thank you Thank you Payton for taking care of me when i am there. You have no idea how grateful i am to have found you. It's really simple to…read morebook an appointment online which is what led me to Salon Glo - my first visit, I was looking for curls that would last me through the next day (I wouldn't have time to get my hair done the day of my event), and Olga went above and beyond by pinning each of my curls with Bobby pins so I could take them out that evening or the next morning. I really appreciated the time and care that went into that. I truly expected just some tighter curls with hairspray and hoping for the best. I came back recently for curls with a little root volume, and Olga delivered again! I left with one of the most fabulous blowouts I've ever had (pictured), and my hair looked good all weekend, even with the wind doing its best to ruin it. Anyways, I appreciate how simple the booking process is and how meticulous Olga has been with styling my hair. I'm not good at curling it myself and it can take time to do it, so I'm grateful to know of a local place that I can trust with styling every now and then.
