This is a very fun drive in, with a rich history. The "experience" and the hype drew me here. The food is pretty good. The Superdawg was very good, as expected. The bed of fries was pretty good, they tasted a little strange, like they were coated in something that didn't really enhance the flavor. The chicken midgees were of good quality, but just okay. The fried vegetables were good, served with ranch dressing. If you have never had corn nuggets before, they are highly recommended, not for the health benefits, but just because they are the most delectable, corn pillows of corney goodness! The ice cream is dished out in blocks, so that is kind of fun. Despite the rumors, they do have a massive sized ketchup dispenser. read more

This is a great location with great seating for big families like mine! The food is delicious -- we usually order the fried veggie and of course french fries with cheese. The cheese sauce is a mild cheddar, which is tasty. I wish they had a veggie burger. I don't like meat so I usually just have a few choices for an entree. Great, friendly service and nice bathrooms. Overall, great place to have a family dinner. We go there for birthdays and just for fun. read more

Looking forward to enjoying a childhood favorite but I was very disappointed.The drive thru lane took extra long and we were not offered an apology. I ordered the Superdawg and the fries were over cooked,hard,dry and cold.My hotdog bun was soggy but the most upsetting thing was the famous green tomato was actually red and mushy. One thing that always made Superdawg unique was the tangy green tomato that came with the hotdog. The theme and decor is what attracts a person to this place. The food itself is fine, nothing completely mind blowing or unbelievable but decent enough. We had the burgers and it was good, can't say we had the actual Superdawg hot dog but noticed from other patrons it looked like a popular order. Superdawg is a local haunt so it is worth the experience of at least trying. read more

What can I say that hasn't already been said. Superdawg was above average hot dog stand with fair pricing and wonderful ambiance. I would make it a destination for a family dinner/meeting place. I understand the complications accepting credit cards bring to management but this is no longer a dive corner stand. they NEED to accept credit cards soon. The service was very good, quick, and efficient. Especially when you see a place get so popular like this, the service seems to forget that friendliness is still a necessity to success. Two strikes, that's it! After my second trip here, on a Saturday, I can say this was unforgettable - in a bad way. At noon this place was jammed inside, apparently with every sniffling kid and city hot dog sycophant.. No place to sit, barely anywhere to stand to wait for your number to be called. After about 15 minutes and 21 bucks, a Hot Dog, a "Polish", an order of Onion wedges and 2 drinks show up. Onions are good, dogs have mostly little broken stubs of fries jammed in the carton with them. A "large" Iced tea is the same size as a small soda (Why?). Sooo good. Three people ordered two superdawgs and one grilled cheese, and two small milks came out to $20.57. The dogs and sandwich all come with fries. I had the Superdawg with everything and it was so dang good. The hot dogs themselves are salty and really thick. Timely service. Went around 6:30 and it was not busy. read more

The best hot dog in town, same goes for the Chicago location. I have many dogs from all over. This place is my favorite in all of Chicagoland. Their malts are amazing thick. If you're a chocolate shake fan you love theirs. They are a little more expensive compared to other hotdog joints. One dog, fries and a drink is about is closer to $10. The price is worth it though, in addition it is a carhop. Park and service comes to your car, just like in the past. Small indoor seating area as well. read more

I just can't understand how anyone can give superdawg less than 5 stars. This place has never failed when you have that hot dog craving. After coming here for years, it was great to see Superdawg expand into the burbs. Always fresh and friendly, and their new location is squeaky clean. Awesome dogs here! I have never gotten the hamburger or anything. Family and friends have gotten other things. Gotta love it all! You have to experience a Superdawg at least once in your life! We love both locations. The Wheeling one has better parking, etc. But whichever is closer, they both taste the same! read more

I like there food. The superdawgs are bigger then your standard hot dog. I love how they put the hot dog and fries in a box. I have had there cheeseburgers and they are very good. I would definitely recommend coming to experience it. I am glad they opened in wheeling so I don't have to drive to Chicago for my superdawg fix. read more

this superdawg is exactly like the one in chicago. It is just closer to me. Still has the same menu and the food still taste the same. the best thing on the menue is the superdawg. It still taste the same as the first superdawg I had. The prices are a bit high but for these dawgs it is well worth it. read more

drive-ins are super fun, even if the food is just OK. I'd still go back but not because I love the dogs. For me they're a little too tough with a slightly thicker skin than I like. The thick cut fries are excellent with a fresh taste. Burgers are better than the hotdogs. If I was really craving a hot dog I think I would pass this place by. As much as this pains me, the Wheeling location is simply bad compared to the original. I've now been there twice and both times we went inside. The people at the counter can't get an order right, it's very slow compared to the original and the food is simply not nearly as good as the original. The fries were the most disappointing as they were over-cooked and dry/gritty. Both the Pineapple and Chocolate malts where not as good as the original. The Pineapple malt was watery and the Chocolate was good and thick, but didn't taste the same as what I've had over the years. Superdawg is my favorite Chicago dawg, but the one in Wheeling is just not very good. The place looks great, but for those who have been to the original over the years, this one is a bad replica as they forgot the most important parts in serving the same quality food with decent service. I'm very disappointed, but after 2 trips there now I don't think I'll be going back to the Wheeling location. read more

I swear these people are mentally slow. I ask for a hot dog with chilli and cheese. They said that I have to buy a bowl of chilli and they won't put cheese or chilli on the hot dog. This was my first time in Chicago and I was here visiting friends. I went right from Midway airport to get a rental car and set my GPS for Superdawg! I'm a sucker for great food and great fries. I saw many reviews that the fries were bad. I loved the fries. The hotdogs were huge and juicy and one of the tastiest hotdogs I have ever eaten. It was definitely unique. There was much hype to this establishment and was really looking forward to going here. So I tried my first Superdawg and it was pretty darn good. If you are a Die-hard Chicagoan you have to come to this place and have a Superdawg. Also their milkshakes blew mw away, which I was skeptical about hearing that they were better than "Steak & Shakes" milkshakes and my buddy was right. Filled with real fruit and a solid thickness it was just delicious. I totally recommend this place on one exception, NEVER order Ketchup on your Superdawg, it's not acceptable and it's just not cool unless you want to completly embarrass yourself. read more

This place is kind of overrated. The hotdogs are good but not that great. Also, it comes in a little happy meal looking box stuffed with fries and tomato peppers (the tomato peppers are really good though). Make sure you ask for fries separate cause you have to finish all your fries before you reach your hotdog. read more

Horrendously gross is the best way to describe their food. The hamburgers are truly awful with their large soggy bun and underweight, overcooked patty. The fries are terrible and from what I hear are always overcooked and crispy just like my experience there. The disgusting tube of meat that's supposed to pass as a hot dog is something I wouldn't feed a real dog in the fear he'd be dead the next morning. I don't understand all the hype over this place. Great cheap eats. These guys have the best chili. For real. Heartburn afterwords, but hella worth it. Hot dogs are tasty as well, and they aren't the measly ones you usually get at other joints hence it being "superdawg".
