I used to like this place, now I cannot see myself wanting to spend the time and money to shop here when plenty of other closer shops to me can cater my needs. I usually only shop superior for produce, meat and in-house tortilla chips. My recent visit consisted of me throwing out majority of our carne asada meat we purchased. That's about two pounds of meat to the trash. Tasted nothing more than salty paper pulp. What a waste. Also purchased tortilla chips, but this trip majority of the chips were stale and not crunchy. Just garbage. Please check your quality control procedures because this last visit was unacceptable. Probably not returning for a while, you left me salty. read more

It was for a pozole for a birthday party and now it's ruined and I can't make it with rotten spoiled meat that I unfortunately bought from them unknownly. It's such a safety and health violation. Clean. No bad odor. Staff are generally polite, helpful. This use to be my default market, but they're Pricey. If you're a comparison shopper you'll note that. Dairy (the highest), shelf staples and meat are at higher mark ups. A lot of store brand/off brand, smaller quantities at disproportionate prices (I'm not ignoring inflation increases. A few yrs back, before this terrible inflation soar, this store underwent a changing of the guard, whether new management or ownership- the prices began to hike) Produce specials are usually good. Meat use to be better quality. Bakery pan Dulce very good, fluctuating prices is off putting, if you like consistency and have a budget. I visit here on occasion exclusively for produce or pan. This store is usually big and full of people looking for a good deal. They have a bakery, seafood dept, meat dept now there produce is a little on the " pay close attention " I wouldn't buy their produce but who am I to judge. They do have some stuff you probably wouldn't see in other store and it's a treat to catch there sales you can probably stock up on some stuff like cereal, box stuff and chips. I wasn't in the store long enough to see the restrooms and the store itself seemed clean. read more

First off let me say I'm not a big fan of superior, but I haven't been in since they recently remodeled the store so I went in to check it out. I can't deny that it was nice but not a big change from the previous layout. But I will tell you this I received A+, 100%, top-notch service deli from an employee named Jennifer, I went in there last minute to get some of their delicious Fried Chicken and they have already started putting product away and cleaning. She went out of her way to take care of me even though she had already put away and cleaned the product half of that meat and my kids say "THANK YOU" If there is a manager, supervisor, or HR rep reading this that works with Superior grocers... that girl needs a raise company vehicle and corner office. I've visited the store a few times with my parents to buy Mexican sweet bread. On a Saturday, my husband and I came to look for T-Bone and Porterhouse steaks. We asked the butcher and they brought out a new packet of T-Bone steaks that were thick cut. We bought about $50, which equals roughly 8 steaks, in our case. I did not want them seasoned because I like doing it. We also purchased queso fresco, after trying a sample. We wanted to try the carnitas, but they were not ready. I also found a Tecate Diablo can of spicy beer. Remarkably, the line went fairly quick. We spent longer at the butcher line. We will return to buy more steaks to put on the grill because they were wonderful. read more

Every time I need to do my big grocery shopping, I go here. Almost every day of the week they have specials. Wednesday's is their veggies day, a lot of items are .99 a lbs or 3 lbs for .99. Thursday's are meat days. You can buy from the meat department or go to the butcher's, your choice. You can buy meats by the case. We bought 40 lbs of boneless chicken breast for about $58.00 and I'm taking fat pieces of meat. I also bought a 20 lb bag of long grain rice for $12.00 Friday's are $5.00 days, different items at 2 for 5, 3 for 5, and so on. The only thing I find overpriced here is the butter. I buy that at other stores for less. You can get made in store fresh tortillas, bread, sweet bread, cakes, and flavored waters. Cases of 24 water bottles 4 for $10. or even 5 for $10. I always feel like when I do my big grocery shopping here, I leave with about 2 to 3 more bags of groceries. I think it would be a nice idea if all grocery stores would put hand sanitizer in their meat departments. read more

I've been getting ads for this place for a while and have been tempted to go because they constantly have great sale prices on meat, mainly beef and chicken. I finally went the other day, it wasn't bad. It's like a really toned down ranch market. Just so I'm clear it is a mexican style ethnic market. They make fresh tortillas and have a great meat counter. The chicken I got was 1.49/lb which is a great price and really good quality, better than most. I mention this because every time i've bought cheap chicken from Vons it's horrible quality, it hardly even counts as chicken. They have some really good sale prices but it seem like everything else is over priced by a lot. I would only come here for a few specific things if they had a good sale and do normal shopping some where else. read more

It's a super market grocery store chain which has a diverse selection, fresh food and good pricing overall. This has a Hispanic / Latin / Mexican flavor to it, but aside from Ethnic Specialty Items, there's also mainstream American brand products and cross cultural cuisine, so there's something for everyone here. Seems like it was an old batch but was hard to tell because it had no date on it and the top tortillas looked fine. It's a large, very clean supermarket. From the flyers I get in the mail, I thought it was a Hispanic market. By walking inside the store, they have a variety of ethnic brands and goods. The prices are much better than your Ralphs or Vons, especially the veggies and fruits section and the meat department. Their produce definitely is a good reason to stop by, I got 7 avocados for a dollar. Mangoes and peaches, fresh quality, super cheap. Can get many fruits for a very good price. Good enough to make this a once a week place for your grocery shopping needs. read more

I I've it 4 stars because this store Is a Hispanic store, I don't speak Spanish but I do know how to cook Hispanic dishes so this place is good to shop at for me,. First of all the red tag special is a lie.. the Roma tomatoes were $.98 in Walmart and here it was $1.29 lbs here. Secondly, some of the things are much more pricey here. Pricing isn't as good as I hoped, but for my MEXICAN food items...this is the spot. I like getting the raw tortillas and passing them off as "HOMEMADE" when serving them with dinner. i visited your superior grocery store at least 2 or 3 times a month. i had a bad experience in december of 2012. i purchased about $225.00 in groceries and in these groceries included some trays of turkey necks and i must add my family and i love turkey necks. now sometime in december i cooked these turkey necks and ham hocks for my family dinner and stuck to one of the turkey necks was a roach. now mind you i dont have roaches in my home. i took the whole dinner to the store steaming hot to show them. all i got was a refund got absolutely no compensation but a refund for the dinner that was spoiled. i should have done what first came to my mine which was to call channel 29. how about that.? what a review this is huh? read more
