They have hot foods stands where you can fill a plate up with whatever you want and they weigh it and you pay the weight of the plate, the selection is massive they have everything from American food, Polish food, Italian food and more. They also have a really nice bakery with very reasonable prices - I tried the red velvet cake there - delicious! This market also has a bunch of international foods you can't really find in other grocery stores, in addition to a big beer/liquor department. Definitely 5 stars for Shop & Save - I will be back.

A revamped deli and hot buffet. What a turn around. I ran into an employee and I was asking about the change and what a great guy. Personable and knowledgeable about operations. I ran in to him a few times during my visit. His name tag said Dave! He turned out to be an Asst Manager. Your store is in great hands when he is there. I shop afternoons after 4pm. Keep up the great work!

For as much profit as Jewel makes a raincoat should absolutely be a part of their "benefits". Not only is it not fair to the people (many of whom look to be minors) working.. but it makes me feel horrible doing a drive up. I ordered last night when it was NOT raining and needed to pickup in the morning because of the size of the order. Now it's pouring rain and a young girl is out here in her JEWEL-ISSUED-SHIRT but getting all wet to go back into a freezing cold store. Totally unacceptable. I would like to note that the employee was sweet and did not complain of this at all. It was a large heavy order early in the morning IN THE RAIN WITH NO RAINCOAT .. and she was very sweet and pleasant. For her, herself, I would give 10/10 stars. For her working conditions- I'm beyond frustrated. Ill change it to 5 stars when then get raincoats because everything else goes smoothly every time. It's not really somebody's fault when a sale item is out of stock and I can't get it... not a big deal when an item gets missed and I have to go through a refund process. It's absolutely somebody's fault when these kids are outside in pouring rain and $1 billion company can't throw them a raincoat. --edited to add: I was underestimating. In 2025, Jewel's revenue was $31 billion.

The store is typical but the parking lot situation and location are not. By that, I mean this Jewel shares a strip mall parking lot with the Des Plaines DMV, and that place is often crazy busy. So if you come by during DMV hours, don't be surprised to have difficulty finding a parking spot. Just a heads-up for you!

I know my daughter likes to visit there with friends for a bite of sushi, a cold drink from the cooler, or even a slice of tiramisu. They got a star back from my mental 3 star review because they brought their happy hour menu back! From 4p-7p Monday through Thursday, they run specials like $3 tacos (Tuesdays) or $8 burritos (Thursdays). They had some summer happy hour menu and it just did not appeal to me so I am glad they brought the original one back, albeit with slightly higher prices than before. I was able to pick up my daughter from drum lessons then pick up steak tacos to eat before we cut into our Rosca de Reyes. Their bakery is also a good stop before a gathering, although it can be hard to get an employee's attention in that department. I have gotten cannolis, brownies, cookies, etc. and everything has been eaten with positive reviews. I get whatever is on sale so it has "forced" me to try different items! Also, the focaccia bread is welcome into the rotation of dinner sides. Overall, I find the staff to be friendly enough and quick to jump to make sure the checkout line keeps moving. I am glad this store is there for when we need them!

They have a Bar Angelo where you can buy beer and cocktails, though it should be noted that it's not a full bar.  They also serve burgers, pizzas, sandwiches, and an assortment of appetizers.  There's a nice shaded patio right outside the cafe as well as some indoor seating.  I don't know if this bar/cafe setup is a common feature or not of Angelo Caputo's Fresh Markets, but I could see it working well especially for the very close-by apartment dwellers.  Anyway, a thumbs-up impression from our first visit.

Were these cookies made by Frankenstein's Monster? 1). Manufacturer knows nothing about making "sandwich" cookies: bottoms should BOTH face towards filling, so cookie looks beautiful no matter how it is held! 2) Filling: like dried rubber cement, sticky/overly sweet. Try using real raspberry jam. When I attempted to pull a cookie apart to scrape off the filling, the cookie exploded. 3) Looks like Flying Monkeys assembled these cookies. 4) All cookies in box were deformed and/or broken. Either your truck driver hit a major pothole or they came from the factory this way. Complete waste of money and calories.

I always find some new vegan thing or other, they always have new seasonal offerings. My ONLY complaint is that the checkout lines are FAR too long, due to what I feel is "forced" by company policy on the checker staff. The checkers are FAR too "chatty" with every single customer, when most of us simply want to get in and out. Great cart policy with regard to return and retrieval. Zero complaints and we will always be return customers!
