That's when we came across Cup N Char and noticed they offered Detroit-style pizza--something neither of us had tried before. We stopped by to order in person, and right away the staff made a great impression. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and the restaurant itself was very clean. There were also a few groups dining in, which gave the place a nice, welcoming vibe. Since we wanted to try a variety, the staff recommended ordering a half-and-half medium pizza, which turned out to be the perfect suggestion. We went with half Italian Mob (pepperoni, onions, banana peppers, and sausage) and half Grassy Chicken (chicken, onions, and banana peppers). Both sides were flavorful, with the Detroit-style crust really standing out--crispy on the edges and soft inside. We also ordered the chicken wings with the original hot sauce, and those were a great addition. The flavor was rich and buttery--definitely a must-have alongside the pizza. Overall, the portions were generous, and we loved being able to mix and match flavors. This is a spot we'll definitely be coming back to for takeout pizza and wings.

An order is either wings OR leg & thigh (no breasts). Perfect! I love dark meat! My favorite sauce is the Garlic Soy which tastes a bit like General Tso sauce. I've had the French fries & Coleslaw for side items (they dont have vegetables) but the main focus is the chicken. I use this place as a to-go spot but they do have some tables for dine-in. This would be a great place to pick up to go chicken and pair it with some side items at home. In my view, the fried chicken is undisputably good!

We ordered the 10 piece wings in hot honey and spicy soy, per recommendation of the manager/owner. The wings were really big and so flavorful! There was a good kick to the spicy soy and both were wet sauces. The wings took about 17 mins to make, but were well worth the wait. I would definitely order both flavors again, but really liked the hot honey the best. You could hear the crisp of the wings each time you took a bite. We aren't near here but the drive back would be worth it! The owner/manager checked up on us while we ate and there lots of people coming through for to-go orders as well. Cant wait to come back for more!

This husband-and-wife duo has been at the…read morehelm of this West Oaks location for close to a decade, where practically everyday (#1) feels like Thanksgiving. They've built a loyal and local following by making comfort food the centerpiece of their many talents (#2). When the food is as tasty as the customer service is friendly, it's hard not to love all they to offer. The shop is so small that seating is non-existent, (#3) thus it's strictly a takeout and delivery establishment. Their display case of hot foods changes throughout the day, depending on availability. Anything after the late afternoon is a huge gamble, so when in doubt, call ahead of time to confirm whether an item is available. I love to pop in just to get a good visual of my choices -- and I've always managed to walk out with something delicious. Of all the items I've tried, there have been standouts across the board. The oxtail, stewed chicken with gravy, smothered rib tips, meat loaf, and their über famous honey glazed wings and meatballs are fabulous. Their sides of dressing, sweet candied yams, mac and cheese, and fried green tomatoes make for a perfectly complete meal. Even the cornbread is outstanding, which is really saying something. I'd be remiss not to mention their incredibly underrated desserts. The peach cobbler is fire, pound cake and banana pudding are excellent, and their triple layered German-chocolate cake floored me. It was decadent, a tinge savory, and extremely addicting. The fact they offer catering for every item mentioned above means my future potlucks are going to be next level. When they're ready to open another location in a different part of town, I can only hope it'll be closer to me. Otherwise, it's off to West Oaks when I'm craving a food-coma-worthy treat. ____________ (#1) Except Monday. They're closed. I decided to get the meatloaf plate with double macaroni & cheese and the 32 oz Candy Apple Kool-Aid drink. The macaroni & cheese was extremely delicious! The price point of the food was decently affordable. I would consider visiting this restaurant in the future to try more things from the menu.
