Ok so, first off we get there and our waitress seats us asks if he needs a high chair for my little brother who's clearly 7 then asks us for our appetizers so we order then she comes back gives my little brother his edamame and he is sitting on his knees and the waitress grabbes him picks him up and says sit! put your legs down! After that we were just like ok then... then it took forever for us to get our food, we didn't get our waters refilled at all, we had multiple different waiters, and they just didn't have very good service all around. We have been coming to sushi 7 since they opened on Moana. When they moved to the northwest it was awesome. The new owners are doing a great job with the staff and the service as well. This is our go to spot. Order the Scorpion, it's not on the menu anymore but they will still make it. It's our favorite in either a long roll or hand roll. read more

On our way back from the museum and shopping, we were a bit hungry, so we thought we'd stop at Squeeze In for a nosh, but there was a crowd waiting. We decided to stop into Sushi 7 and have a couple rolls. The place was not busy, but it still took a while for our first rolls to come. The first roll was okay, but the others were not so good. The tempura batter was not crisp, the fish on the rolls was cut so thin, you wouldn't know it was there. If you like rice, fried in batter and covered with mayonnaise, you might like this place. If you like sushi, go someplace else. The AYCE at the Atlantis is $3 more, but so very much better! read more

We come here about twice a month because this place never fails to deliver on flavor and service. Incredible! If I could give more stars I would!! The fish is fresh so it doesn't have the "fishy" taste. There isn't too much rice, the rolls are perfectly balanced. The raw nigiri is also amazing! Ask what your chefs favorites are and order them. They take pride and tend to try harder on those ones to make you love it as much as they do. Again, very good! It's always fresh, and combination of rolls are amazing. Lets go with 2 orders of Firecracker, then 2 orders of Man on Fire, then once that's settled in try something different. I took my brother and sister-in-law out to dinner here. We usually go to a different place, but decided to try Sushi 7 because we had absolutely adored their location on Kietzke when we lived in south Reno. When we arrived and were seated, there were only 4-5 people at the extensive sushi bar and enough sushi chefs to accommodate 3-4 people if the bar was full. There were a couple of sushi chefs with no one at their stations, but for some reason our sushi chef was making sushi for a party that would arrive later. It wasn't until 15-20 minutes after we were seated that the chef finally asked us what we would like and began making our orders. We were there for about two hours and each of us only received 3-4 rolls in that time period. The sushi was alright, though in particular my Caterpillar roll did not seem very well-made -- the roll had an overall mushy texture and was not pleasant on the palate. The restaurant slowly started filling up and my brother attempted to get a refill on his drink for fifteen minutes to no avail. When they finally took his glass, we never saw it again. We eventually got a different sushi chef, who was very prompt and fast and took it upon herself to get my brother another drink when half an hour had passed without the return of his beverage. Overall, I would not recommend Sushi 7 to anyone and prefer Sushi Lovers to this sushi bar. The sushi was ok and our second chef was wonderful, but the lack of care and promptness we received left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

This is the second time my Husband and I have been to this Sushi Place our experience the first time was anything but amazing w/ long wait times and sloppy made rolls, but we thought we would give it another try since it's the closet sushi restaurant to our home, I completely regret that decision. First when we walk in the host has her back to the door and just talking to what I would guess was the owner or manager sitting at a table and they only have about 5 sets of guests right now so there was absolutely no need for a wait. About a minute later she finally seats us at the bar where her and the sushi chef bombard us w/ questions right away...I haven't even put my purse down and they took my drink order and first roll order already (normally a good thing but irritating when I know she is just rushing so she can get back to her conversation at the door) Next we are just sitting there eating and our sushi chef starting bashing every other sushi place in town to the guest sitting next to us, it didn't seem to bother him but to me this is completely unprofessional! If your sushi can't hold it's own without you having to bash other places in town maybe you shouldn't be open. Both of the rolls I ordered had browning avocado and the rolls were sliced very sloppy so my end pieces were only rice and a little bit of seaweed. Next the chefs continue to yell back and forth to each other over all the guests about the amounts of money they made this week and how they deserve $90 a day just in tips. So you would think by now they would realize I'm flat out annoyed with the way these chefs are acting but no next the chef around the corner asks our chef if he has some shrimp he says of course and then tosses a piece of shrimp over a guest to the other chef! I'm blown away at how unprofessional this restaurant is! At this point my husband asks for the check, we wait about 10 minutes and he asks our chef again as he is cleaning since they close in an hour (I know because he constantly mentions how they are almost closed) then he says I don't know where she is but it should be here soon, so I get up turn the corner to the hostess station where of course she is leaning on the wall talking to the same person she was when we walked in and I ask if someone is grabbing our check we have been waiting awhile? She just starts to grab it we just hand her our card and with no sorry for the wait or thanks have a good night! Needless to say we will never be back!!! read more

We generally love this sushi restaurant but, honestly the chefs are not consistent in preparation of the rolls. Depending on which chef you get the roll could be very good or really bad. The Scorpion roll is our favorite but, depending on which chef makes it, it can be the most delicious roll, or it can be dry and terrible. It's that way with every roll. Some of the chefs are amazing! There's one named Hugo who LOVES his work and takes pride in the quality of his rolls. He's consistent, friendly, and will customize any roll for you. He will also cut the roll to whatever size you like. The other chefs cut the pieces WAY too big! I can't eat a whole peace at a time because it won't fit in my mouth! Hugo knows how I like them cut and remembers every time we go in there! If they could just get the chefs more consistent in the quality of the rolls, we would go there more often. We always call ahead now and make sure Hugo is working before we decide to go. Hugo and Eric are the best chefs there, hands down. They care that the flavors work and the rolls are never dry and bland. read more

I love Sushi 7! We got there frequently. The sushi is good; you can get right in and everyone is friendly. The only other sushi places that I've found in town that I like are Rickshaw and the Atlantis but you have to wait forever to get in. I love this restaurant and would highly recommend it. read more

Our Sushi 7 experience began nearly two years ago, when they were located on Kietzke and Moana. Our first time in, we were looking for a new preferred sushi place, as we had been disappointed by the service at Sushi Pier more than once. When we walked in, we saw a clean, moderately busy dining room and bar. We had our young son with us (about 3 months old at the time) and one of the owners, Myong, made a point of coming over to our table to say hello to us. The food was good, and they have a number of rolls and nigiri selections that are unique to Sushi 7. We were happy, and made plans to come back. Going back took us a while- it was nearly 3 months later when we were able to head back down to the old location, just before they relocated to Las Brisas, where they currently are (and happily, just a few blocks from our home). Immediately after walking in, Myong recognized us, asked us how we were doing, and said hello to our son, who had just begun to babble. Once again, we were impressed with the quality of fish (my wife and I can eat Maguro by the pound, and it's almost always excellent quality for AYCE sushi). We've now eaten at Sushi 7 perhaps a dozen or more times, and we're always satisfied with the speed and quality of service, as well as the food. Sushi 7 also offers a full bar, plus a mini salad/appetizer bar with edamame, cucumber salad, fruit, and a few other garnishes. They offer both traditional japanese sushi (well, what Americans think of as Japanese style anyway) plus a good selection of Bento box lunches/dinners and sushi-style food using beef, chicken, and vegetarian options. It's definitely a place you can take a friend who isn't so sure about trying raw fish, but likes teriyaki and asian style foods. Lastly, one of the best parts of eating at Sushi 7 is that if you have a larger party and wish to sit at a table rather than the bar, there is no dropoff in service. At multiple other sushi bars, we have had real issues with timeliness of order taking and food delivery, but they are very good about checking with you often when you aren't at the bar. read more

First of all, I agree with Zoe. Great place for Sushi with your kids! Very nice to our children and we didn't get the "evil eyebrow" when we walked in with our 2 and 4 year olds like we have at other sushi places in town. Service was super attentive, I drink about 5 to 7 glasses of water when I eat and I never had to do the obligatory "empty glass slurp" to try to get more, my glass never got below half full. Sushi was good with a pretty good selection for lunchtime and I think they have more rolls than anyone in town at dinnertime. Also loved the fact that they had so many appetizer selections included with AYCE. Soup, salad, edamame, q. eggs, and these little egg roll like things that our kids loved. All in all, very good experience. Oh and did I mention that AYCE at lunchtime for myself, my wife, and both of our children only cost $30.14 tax included? Yup, we will be going back! read more

This is literally my favorite restaurant in the world. The boys and I took 50 to South Lake last September to be greeted by days cold water. Decided we were hungry and trekked into the silver state for some sush. Found this gem and it was possibly the best day of my life. $24 for for all you can eat at the bar? Sign me up. Great value for the money, and very family friendly. I have 6 kids so I appreciate a place with good food, good service, and value. The only thing that I wish they'd do differently is bring back the old version of the 'hand grenade'. The new one is a bit dry. I had high hopes for this place. I'm an avid sushi eater and the reviews seemed good enough to try it but I was pretty disappointed with the service. Our waitress didn't write our order down so she had to come back to the table to ask me what my order was and then forgot one of the other things I ordered. Me and my friend both ordered mussels and the order got messed up and we were both really confused by the portion sizes (one order is 4 mussels but they look like they are really two mussels cut in half then served in two spoons) confusing right? I prefer the regular mussels served on their shells. Anyway. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Kwon has done it again! As long-time fans of Hiroba, we were eager to visit Kwon's latest sushi location in Reno. We have been twice now, and had two excellent dining experiences. The sushi is top-notch (no surprise there!) and the decor is very nice too. We love the reasonable price for all you can eat and the free sake on week nights. The service was EXCELLENT -- on both occasions the restaurant was 75% full, but the staff was super attentive and the sushi was delivered quickly. Huge thumbs up, and Sushi 7 is now our new "regular" spot for sushi! read more

Sushi 7 is the best sushi I have ever had. I had the pleasure of meeting Kwon (the man that opened hiroba and the sold it) along with his chef Juan. They took such good care of my husband and I, they even made us a couple rolls that were not on the menu. Kwon now owns it and he comes every single day for 8 hours just to cut the fish to perfection. Those 2 are the perfect team. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a new place to eat sushi! Very slow service. The rolls were very good when I got them. Ordered 3 rolls the first round they forgot 1. The waiter did apologize but it was still slow afterwards. The place wasn't even busy there was plenty of open tables. We complained to a manager and I asked if I could put in a new order, but they just brought me the roll they didn't bring the first time. The rolls are nothing special (I can't even remember what we had).
