A great sushi restaurant! They have a huge menu from sushi to hibachi items to udon noodle bowls, etc. As a vegan, they had plenty of options. The sweet potato sushi with added soy paper, was excellent! The house salad with ginger dressing was so flavorful. Fish eating friends all loved their sushi. Very fresh. The ambiance is nice as well. Sushi 99 is located in an unassuming retail strip of stores and restaurants in Palm Coast, FL. The space inside is cozy, and the decor is serviceable. We were seated promptly and ordered edamame while we perused the sushi menu. The edamame itself was hot, salty, and satisfying. We ended up ordering the following: spicy salmon roll, Alaska roll, Tokyo roll, TNT roll, JB roll, their specialty Palm Coast roll, and a piece of salmon nigiri. The spicy salmon roll was good, if a little mushy. It was spicier than most, which I appreciated. The Alaska roll was the surprise winner of the evening for the garden variety rolls, with the simple additions of cucumber and avocado to the salmon really working in terms of flavor and texture combination. The Tokyo roll wasn't super flavorful but the crunchy texture won me over. TNT roll was okay; the tuna was mostly texture with little flavor. JB roll really surprised me. I normally don't go for rolls with cream cheese in them, but there was one piece left my wife didn't want to I snagged it. I forgot the salmon that came in this roll was smoked, and the smoked salmon and cream cheese work just as well together in a sushi roll as they do on a bagel. Completely inauthentic, completely delicious. I don't remember exactly what was in the Palm Coast roll, but it was topped with chewy seaweed which was a great textural contrast to the soft fish within. It was also significantly larger than the other standard rolls, which was nice because their specialty rolls are a bit pricier than they should be. The salmon nigiri was unremarkable, but delicious as salmon always is. Have I had better sushi? Yes. Have I had cheaper sushi? Of course. At the end of the day, though, Sushi 99 puts out a competent product at a mostly fair price, and the service was good. We enjoyed our meal quite a lot and I can't ask for more than that. read more

This is the second time we've had them in a month. Their sushi is delicious, but their fried rice options leave a lot to be desired. My mom had the shrimp fried rice and I had the steak option. I had a lot of steak, but it's literally just an extremely large portion of rice and egg, no veggies at all. Mom had about 5 shrimp for her entire portion so once those were done she was finished with the dish which was a waste. We ordered a passion and pineapple green tea. It was good, but not $8 worth. I have been going to Sushi 99 since they opened. Can't believe I never wrote a review. Constantly good. Prices have gone up a little, but where hasn't. Today I got delivery and again very good. If they want to jump to 5 stars I would recommend cutting the lettuce in the salad to smaller pieces and not pre cooking the chicken. Reheating makes it a little tough. Love this place! Second time I went and great food both times. The sushi tastes so fresh and the presentation is adorable. Had a few different rolls both times and enjoyed everything. They give you a small sushi on the house which I ended up getting because it was delicious. My mom got the steak fried rice and loved it. We also had dessert - ice cream tempura and it was so good. Will be back for lunch specials as both times were for dinner. Service is good too and the restaurant ambience is very nice. Highly recommend! read more

We literally just moved here yesterday and were running around like crazy trying to settle in, and I saw the sign and said...there's the place! Palm Coast, we have a problem! Before the readers make fun, yes I know, ordering 'chicken' sushi is childish and yes, I have a massive TY Beanie Baby collection, so let's move on. Recently I visited this local eatery to order my favorite sushi combo of chicken and California rolls. While food poisoning is always a possibility with raw food, I should have double checked my chicken tartar! The first problem was when I asked for a fork. The waitress looked at me like I voted for Fetterman. she delivered said silverware which such visceral but I'm no Mr Myagi. The second strike against me was when I asked for 'more' yum yum sauce. She delivered me the next batch in a tea cup. She was easily disgruntled by the way I lathered my rolls in japans finest Mayo. The third strike was when I accidentally snapped my fingers at her to fetch me some more diet coke. All of these seemed to culminate like into the upcoming night of hell! When I got home and rolled out of my van (I. My wheelchair), I felt the first strike upon my upper abdomen. Within 2 hours I put the chair in 5th gear and rolled into the bathroom. At this point, while lifting myself out of my travel chair, I had to make a decision, it's either the toilet or the floor... which one am I going to shit on?? I thought I chose correctly when I started projecting my intestines into the bowl and shatting all over my grouted tile. However within 10 min, I had collapsed into my own feces and vomiting on myself anyway. The worst part was that on my collapse to the floor, my hand slapped the bidet handle down so hard it got stuck which led to my own vomit being hurled onto my half dead body! The service is SUPER SLOW and NOT FRIENDLY at all. We waited about 5 minutes to be acknowledged and five after that to get out water. We ordered a roll to start just to see what the rolls would be like. It was the volcano roll which is cooked. I saw the sushi bar guy place this roll on the counter and about 5 or so minutes went by and nobody was taking it- I asked out server and she said "oh that's yours" grabbed it and brought it to us- it was cold and not good at all. Waitress came back and handed food to our friend and said "shrimp tempura" - we all were served our food except my husband. He asked waitress where his chicken tempura was, she looked confused and then looked at our friend's food (which was already half eaten) grabbed the plate away and set it in front of my husband and said there it is. She refused to give him another order of it unless we paid for another chicken tempura. Our friend never got their shrimp tempura and ended up eating some of their partner's food instead. We were charged full price and our friend was charged for the dish they never received. In this day of Omicron virus, having a patron made to eat from a half-eaten plate that was mistakenly given to another person is criminal. We will not be going back. read more
