Love this little hole in the wall sushi place! We have been coming here for years. Sushi is always fresh, prices are fair and reasonable. Service is normally quick. If they are busy, it can take a little longer as it would anywhere. Fav rolls are the red devil, the corona and the candy cane. We also love the spicy tuna sashimi and the pork gyozas! The owner is often found behind the sushi counter and is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. read more

I tend to come here for the happy hour sushi prices from 5p-7p. Nothing phenomenal in terms of sushi, but it is a good compromise for the prices. Tuna nigiri wasn't is fresh as it has been, but I've noticed raw nigiri can be hit or miss here but still tasted good enough There usually only tends to be one waiter working, even on a Thursday at 6pm. The man had hustle though and was super nice so he didn't go unnoticed It's never too loud in here, staff always says hi when you walk in, and there's plenty of seating as well read more

I was excited the first time I drove past this location but found it to be closed. Our daughter who lives in Tampa eats here frequently and kept telling us how delicious the sushi was. Boy was she right! We came with a party of 6 and were quickly sat at a high top table. Our 2 waitresses were amazing! They answered all of our questions, frequently checked on our party, and were quite friendly. For my drink I tried a Peach Sake that was a winner. Perfect if you like sweet white wines. We started off with appetizers: Edamame and Geso a Japanese style calamari. The edamame's were tasty and the Geso delish. Not greasy at all! A great dish to start off with. For our main dish we tried quite a few different sushi rolls and all were amazing! I would dare say some of the best sushi we've had. As a matter of fact, there wasn't a single roll we didn't finish or did not enjoy. As a matter of fact, we even asked for a few more additional pieces bc they were that good! We had the Eskimo Roll, Krab Roll w/o cucumber, Spicy Roll, Green Menace and Spider Roll. For dessert we had the fried Oreo which was just okay. Not something I'd order again. I rather eat more sushi and skip dessert lol. The prices are amazing for the quality and quantity of sushi you get. FYI- Gratuity is included for parties of 6 or more. We have eaten here for years. Food is normally good. Tonight for first time we did take out and were shocked at size of rolls. Half the size of usual rolls and very sloppily made . Will not go again. The night before we had been to another restaurant in area ( using gifts give n for our 50th anniversary). That too was spendy and so disappointing steak was tough. The happy hour specials (5-7pm) at this place are unbeatable for the area but you do get what you pay for. The variety of the menu is appreciated and I look forward to coming back and trying more. There is an up charge for the sauces if you're ordering to go. The tofu appetizer was very good and crispy and the sauce was great too. You can't really go wrong with any of the rolls on the HH menu. Good sushi option located by USFs main campus in north Tampa. We ordered the crab Rangoon to start, they were unfortunately overcooked but the flavor was pretty good. I had the special Sushi lunch, 5 pieces of nigiri sushi: salmon, tuna, white fish, krab, shrimp and a California roll with choice of Miso soup or ginger salad. The sushi was pretty good, I've had better but overall it definitely filled me up. Nice decor and friendly service. They have lunch specials 1130-2:30 Tuesday to Friday and happy hour 5-7 with reduced price sushi rolls and drink specials. Don't do it y'all. Usually bad customer service doesn't bother me, as long as the food is good. But what I experienced last night definitely deserves a review. I ordered my food online and went to go pick it up (with tip already included). I ordered 3 rolls: K Town, salmon avocado and a spicy tuna roll. K Town did not look like the photos at all. There was barely any fish, barely any greens, and a lot of empty space in each roll. The server proceeded to roll her eyes at me for kindly asking it to be remade. I was kind and patient the whole time. She laughed in my face multiple times and referred to me as "a crazy girl." She said the photo I was referring to was for another Sushi Avenue location (like that should make a difference) even though that photo is under their Sushi Avenue location. She called the owner and he/she gave me a refund for K Town. I went home and ate my other two rolls only to find out that I have smoked salmon instead of regular salmon in my salmon avocado roll. Luckily, I called Grubhub and they were able to give me a refund for the salmon avocado roll. Obviously, the sushi chef that was there last night is not making things correctly, but I was made out to be this insane woman for kindly asking my food to be remade. And there are other reviews talking about the bad customer service so it's not just me. read more

The perfect place to eat Sushi. Good menu, lovely staff, and the vibes are immaculate. I don't eat much sushi and am new to it but I really enjoyed the food here. Everything feels high quality at reasonable prices. Just a good place to go especially if you're craving sushi. We were there during Happy Hour and ordered off the Happy Hour menu, as well as, the regular menu. Everything was VERY AVERAGE but I specifically liked the K-Town roll. It was delicious, however, the diluted soy sauce on the plate added nothing to the dish.
