Everything here is top tier: the food, customer service, and vibe is amazing... I have been here many many times with a big group and also date nights with just my partner and I. I have to say I prefer coming here with a smaller party because the restaurant is quite small and more geared towards smaller parties. If you order a lot, a small table won't fit all your plates and many times they had to change tables for my husband and I because we always order so much . The food is just that good that we want to eat everything. For the food, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. We regularly get the seared salmon belly (delicious), sashimi+nigiri+one roll combo, mafia roll, Osaka triangle. All these are so good and the raw fish is high quality and so so so fresh. Each time I eat it, it melts in my mouth and it's just an overall amazing experience. I've tried their sashimi salad (hadubap I think) and I have to say although the fish and everything was good, I thought their gochujang sauce could be a bit better, it was lacking flavor from the other restaurants I've tried. The customer service is superb! Every time I've went, because my husband and I always order so much for 2 people, the chef has let us sample some dishes on the house which we so appreciate. What an amazing way to treat their customers that really enjoy their food . The waiters are always so attentive to fill our drinks and check on us. Since coming to this place, I find I always compare other sushi restaurants I've been to and I do not have any other sushi restaurants in mind that can match the quality of the fish that sushi Cho provides. Amazing sushi!!! Been wanting to go and finally went for lunch on a Saturday. Service was amazing, our waiter was so attentive and sushi came out fairly quick. The restaurant is also so cute inside and very clean. They had an omakase lunch menu but its only for Mon-Fri, but it was a very good deal. We thought the sushi was expensive until we got our food, the price was definitely justified (huge portions, rice to fish ratio was RATIOING, and the fish was so fresh). It's always such a pleasure to dine here! The staff is sooo friendly and I love the ambience inside. It's a small restaurant but the design is sleek, functional, and cozy. Now for the sushi, the fish is super fresh. Their extensive list of 100 rolls is definitely overwhelming but the one I recommend that anyone tries is the crunch scallop roll! Not a long wait for a table for 2 this past Wednesday during dinner. My friend and I have been craving sushi and we decided to try Sushi Cho after hearing good things about it. I like that they have a hot tea option here, which was strong and roasty. 32 PCs (NIGIRI, SASHIMI & 1 ROLL) - 79 Definitely not cheap, but very good deal for what you are getting. My friend and I chose the spicy tuna roll which was OK. The minced tuna was alright and the sauce wasn't even spicy. Definitely a filler. Our nigiri and sashimi platter was bountiful. There were a variety of 9 different nigiris which my friend had split. The salmon belly was delicious and so was the yellowtail and the fatty tuna. My friend enjoyed the eel nigiri (which I sadly was not able to try). Since there was so much sashimi, my friend and I ordered a side of sushi rice each (+3.95, I think) so that way we can enjoy the sashimi with some rice. We also wanted to be full by the end of the meal, lol. The sushi rice was delicious as it was the perfect amount of vinegar and stickiness and went well with our sashimi (almost like your own DIY chirashi bowl, lol). I really enjoyed the fatty tuna, salmon, yellowtail, scallop, and salmon roe. Surprisingly, the roe wasn't too fishy. Honestly, every piece was enjoyable. The sashimi pieces were super thick -- personally, the both of us would prefer the pieces to be cut thinner. Overall, super yummy and definitely a great option to share with another person if you're down to splurge a bit. At the end, before we got the check, they brought us a seared salmon belly nigiri (with some avocado on top) and told us it was on the house. They then proceeded to light the liquid on the plate on fire to sear the salmon which made it extra flavorful (and the rice was seared and toasted, too). We took our time looking at the unique sushi roll menu and ordered about seven selections plus an udon noodle chicken entre. We were then presented with small side salads and miso soup (both delicious) for ordering an entree I believe. The rolls were exactly as described and included very generous portions of fish and avocado. As we were paying the check, the waiter brought out a complimentary salmon belly dish (pictured). Came here intrigued by their 100 roll selection! It's really just the same ingredients recycled to make new rolls but still a unique idea. It can be overwhelming reading through all of the descriptions but the servers are always really nice and can give recommendations if needed. The hand rolls are my favorite because they're huge and the fish tastes fresh. They have a weird call-in system, which is essentially reservations but they don't call it that. The staff apologized and made up for it ten-told. We received several dishes on the house and everyone in the group loved their food. Along with our ordered dishes, we received (complimentary) the salmon belly appetizer, a fish dish and miso soup and house salad. One roll plus an appetizer were very filling, in addition to the soup and salad mentioned. I would absolutely recommend this spot to anyone in the area. The menu is quite big but there's so many different sushi rolls depending on what you prefer, you're certain to find something that you will love. I had the Cowboy roll and the gyoza appetizer. I love fried banana, so I enjoyed the chunky monkey roll and its texture. The tsunami roll was tough to chew. What I suspected was the lobster tail was chewy like squid or octopus, so i didn't quite enjoy it. I also found it bland. The chicken karaage arrived piping hot and was tasty, but i was surprised at the amount of chicken on a heaping bed of lettuce when I consider the price I will pay for it. Same for the vegetable tempura. Miso soup was good. Green tea ice cream was fine and tasted like store bought. The magic oreo item on the dessert menu is deep fried oreo. We ordered the lady killer roll and salmon ninja roll for dinner, and they were somewhat delicious but not worth the price ($17-18 each). The lady killer roll was average. It had a unique but unappealing and odd flavor that combined salmon, guacamole, tempura flakes, and coconut flakes. The salmon ninja roll was quite delicious as it had seared salmon on top with an aioli sauce that meshed the flavors of the roll together. A positive thing about both of these rolls are that they are quite large. Other than that, these rolls were not worth the price we paid. Sushi Cho doesn't really have anything special going for it except its interior. The ambiance is nice, and the interior is modern and clean. Wife and I dined here for Valentine's Day. One difficulty is the lack of parking here; we gave up on the parking lot, had to go to Patient First to park, and walk from there. Ambiance was a small tightly packed place, but to be expected on V-Day. The best thing about this restaurant is the soy sauce which had a smoky flavor. The miso Chilean sea bass was too sweet. Wife says part of the soft shell crab was still frozen, but my part was ok. The "tuna mountain" appetizer is a very generous portion, but the masago egg aspect would benefit from crackers or the like, because it is basically a spread, with nothing to spread it upon. Sashimi was good quality. The menu would be more helpful if there was description of the sakes, how dry versus sweet for example. It was disappointed that the "mafia roll" contained imitation crab, without stating this on the menu. Other rolls on the menu admit to including imitation crab, but we order this thinking it was legit. Waitress was fluent in Korean and English, and was friendly, but unable to describe some menu items. read more

This sushi place truly deserves the high rating! The portion sizes are large and generous. Each sushi piece is thick and has a lot of filling versus other sushi places that give way smaller bite sizes. I got the seared salmon belly as an appetizer where you can watch it slowly cook in front of you. The lemon and touch of guacamole on it was great. For entree I got the blackjack (red and black egg on top very clever) which had eel and avocado and the tuna ninja which was made up of spicy tuna and salmon on top. I love that Cantonese soup was an option as it was different than the traditional miso soup. The waiter and host were both very friendly and I enjoyed the service. After getting seated we decided to go with something tried and true and went for sushi and sashimi for 2 with a spicy tuna rolls. We also ordered the lady killer rolls as well. This place is amazing!! One of the best sushi spots I've ever been to. It does get crowded though so there might be a bit of a wait. We started the night off with hot tea and was served miso soup and a salad. The dressing was very gingery and I wished it was a sesame dressing instead. It was crunchy and sweet which was really special and unlike anything else I've had before. Then, we were served our a la cart toro sushi. It gets seared on the table right in front of your eyes and i could really taste the difference it makes. Additionally, it sits on top of a lemon slice and i absolutely adore the tang it gives. Fan-tas-tic experience from start to finish! We arrived at 6 pm on a Friday and were seated right away. By 7p there was a big crowd waiting for a table. Ordered the salmon belly appetizer and it was the best thing I put in my mouth. We also ordered Toro for the first time which I'm glad I tried but probably won't splurge on again. The miso soup was perfect and the ginger dressing on the salad was very nice. As far as rolls, we ordered 5: Crunch roll (must-try), Tuna Ninja (too spicy for me), Tropical Thunder (too mushy but the mango was a nice addition), Titanic (my least favorite and it was humongous; at least 2-3 bites per piece), and Chesapeake (second favorite and very surprising! My mother and I stopped here for a late lunch coming back from Maryland on a Saturday evening and were delighted with our experience! There are so many amazing places in northern VA to eat at with a plethora of different cuisines available. Sushi Cho is a very clean establishment that serves a wide variety of Japanese food with a very extensive sushi menu. We ordered their specialty sushi rolls and certainly weren't disappointed with the quality, taste, size, and presentation. It is very clean, the staff is extremely attentive and welcoming, and the overall service was immaculate. The servers are quite attentive and very friendly. The restaurant is very clean with a modern contemporary Japanese themed interior. Its atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The menu is large and they literally have 100 specialty roll options. It took a little while to decide, but we ended up ordering 4 specialty rolls. We ordered the Christmas roll, flying dragon roll, lady killer roll, and tuna ninja roll. Once we placed our order, our server brought us complimentary miso soup and a sesame ginger salad. The salad was really light and the ginger dressing was refreshing. The warm miso soup hit the spot on a rainy day too. Our rolls arrived about 10-15 minutes later. The rolls are huge and the presentation is beautiful. The flying dragon was our favorite and the eel was amazing! Definitely recommend ordering that roll, the flavor was divine. The Christmas roll was also a hit and we enjoyed the different flavor profiles included in the roll. The lady killer roll was topped with something similar to guacamole, different, but worked really well with the salmon on the inside. And the tuna ninja was also great. The seared tuna on top added a lot to the roll. Each roll was very different from each other and each had their own unique flavor. All the various flavors in the rolls worked really well together. I must note that the portions of fish in the rolls were not disappointing at all and were quite generous. The high quality of not only the fish but other components of the rolls really made them stand out. We also appreciated that there wasn't too much rice on the rolls. The meal itself was very filling and we enjoyed every roll! After we had finished our sushi rolls, the chef sent us complimentary seared salmon belly. They lit the plate on fire and the salmon seared in front of us. It was really tasty with a nice citrusy taste from the lemon. Another example of how amazing the service is at Sushi Cho. We left full and satisfied with no complaints about our experience. Service was perfect and the establishment was very efficient. The rolls were expensive, but considering the size, quality, and amount of fish, they were fair. By far some of the best and freshest sushi we've had! I brought my hubby here for his birthday last night and had a simply beautiful meal. We arrived at about 5:30 on a Friday, and were immediately seated with our toddler. There were other families around us too, which was great. I can see how this place could be family friendly, and more formal. It's a beautiful restaurant with lovely wood accents everywhere. The staff was attentive, and the food came out quickly. It was really nice. We ordered uni, toro, the 33-piece sashimi, nigiri deal with a spicy tuna roll. We also ordered a bowl of tempura udon for our toddler. She crushed the noodles. They udon was fine, but you come here for sushi, so the udon is definitely skippable. Our food was beautifully presented....like almost too pretty to eat! Haha! But once we dove in, we really enjoyed it. Everything tasted fresh, tender, and was well prepared. This was a great place for a lunch date. Not super crowded and music was soft and inviting. The tea was perfectly steeped, when served in large versions of Japanese tea cups. My companion ordered a lunch special box and an interesting taco. We were given salad and miso to start. DON'T eat it! You will be tempted. Especially if it is cold outside, it smells so good!! Save all the room you have for the sushi! I made it through my entire Philly roll but only one or two pieces of the sunny sunshine roll. The fish was remarkably fresh and the sushi rolled tight. A little wasabi and soy gave the Philly roll the perfect kick. The special was delicious per my companion and the Japanese taco in seaweed wrapper was inspired. It even came with eating instructions which was helpful. I love that the last plate they served ended up coming to the table lit on fire. I called 2 days in advance and still had to wait about 5 minutes. They had us sit at the bar (no complaints, love the bar) but it was a last minute seat they put together to accommodate us. They had a large menu and we went with the sashimi for 2, and got 2 rolls. We also got soup on the house and salad while we waited. Fantastic service from everyone there. Food came out super fast and was soooo delicious! Parking might be a little rough because the parking lot is tiny but the block is so popular so I'd go earlier than dinner time if possible. Took out my pair of chopsticks and to the outside chopstick package had some weird dust on it. I totally ignored it and opend the chopstick and to my surprise the chopsticks were molded. My mom and her friends frequent here quite Often after their weekly walking get together. She always raves about the excellent service by the owners and the delicious food. I was visiting from San Francisco and wanted to treat them Lunch so of course this was their choice! My Mom loves the hamachi Don , the aunties ordered their regular chirashi bowl and my aunt decided to be adventurous and order something different and ordered the teriyaki salmon bento. I ordered the Hwe Dup Bap- i loved that it came with side of the gochujang so one can decide how themselves as to how much they want on their dish. The rice was also on the side. There was plenty of sashimi on top of super fresh chopped lettuce. The hamachi bowl had beautiful strips of ample portion hamachi - looked so buttery and it was great. The only comment I heard from them was that the rice was not as good as the last time and that it needed more sushinoko. The salad that comes out before the meals super fresh but barely had enough dressing on it. The staff was quick to bring us more dressing upon request. We ordered a vegetable and shrimp tempura - the oil to fry the tempura could've been cleaner but it still was good. Plenty of shrimp for all and vegetables. The bento was plentiful although the salmon was a bit over cooked so dry but still enjoyed the meal. The chirashi was great with again their comment about the rice. As a first timerI thought the meals were excellent especially my hwe dup bap. The staff was attentive and very friendly. Love the bonus service flaming sushi as well. Sushi Cho has become one of my to-go places for some sushi in the area! The freshness of the fish makes this place one of the best sushi restaurants, by far! The staff is super friendly and attentive, and the service is pretty quick. The restaurant is fairly small, so you may have to wait a little bit for a table, but don't be discouraged, because it is totally worth the wait! Must Try Appetizers: Seared Salmon Belly -- This was my first experience with torched salmon belly and it was amazing! The nigiri pairs perfectly with the guacamole that it comes on, and completely melts in your mouth! The only downside to this is that it only comes in 4 pieces, and it will definitely leave you wanting more. Salmon and/or Tuna Nacho -- You can't go wrong with either one! At first I thought these were going to be like a poke nacho type dish, but far from it. the fish lays on a bed of crunched rice and an apple slice with avocado. I'm not a fan of apples, but this just works perfectly! You really can't go wrong with either the salmon or the tuna, so choose whichever best fits your preference, and enjoy! Whenever my wife and I go here, we always get the 2 Rolls & 20pcs Nigiri Sushi for 2. It never disappoints! The fish is so fresh, and although the 2 roll choices are basic rolls, they are delicious! I love sushi, so even though it says "for 2," I think I can definitely finish the platter on my own. But while the food may not seem like a lot for the avid sushi lover, I think it does fill you up even when you share it. Literally the best sushi I've had! We ordered 5 different rolls and was way more than we could finish but was absolutely delicious The service here is amazing! It's a small restaurant but it is well worth the wait! We brought our leftover sushi home and it was still amazingly good the next day which is rare for sushi! Can't wait for this to be our new regular sushi spot! read more

Yummmmm. My gf took me here for my birthday and I'm so happy that we finally got to try it after talking about it for so long. The inside is very small and so it does fill up quickly. The parking around the area really sucks when it is during prime hours. They seated us at the bar where it was just the two of us which was very nice. The service was awesome, they tended to us often and kept asking us if everything was good. All of the staff members are kind. As for the food, I definitely recommend the Sashimi for 2, all of the cuts we got were excellent! Sooo delicious. I think the cuts they give you is chef's choice, so it won't always be the same. The seared salmon belly was yummy. The Flying Dragon Roll was decent and the Salmon Lovers roll was okay, but I would probably try something different next time. Super fresh, great quality seafood used to make their sushi and dishes. Ordered the Chirashi Bowl and the lobster in paradise roll. Really enjoyed the food. Staff was super friendly and the place has a modern cozy vibe. I would definitely recommend this place to get good sushi. read more
