    8 pcs omakase!
    Tiffany L.

Wow for the price you are paying i feel like the omakase set was so great! They even have a HH Mon - Wed 5-8 pm. We got a bottle for sake for 20% off. We got 2 omakse sets and chirashi! Really good. Will be back! Only down side is the chirashi bowl did not have sushi rice. That was disappointing! I probably would have deducted a star but overall enjoyed the experience and we got a free plate of the yuzu sea-bream and that was a nice touch for our first time here!

This is my new favorite sushi spot in the Brea area! The fish quality is always really fresh tasting. I like getting their chirashi bowl here since you get a few cuts of a variety of the standard fish along with some premium fish like scallop, uni, and sweet shrimp! Their uni pasta here is also really good. It has a good creamy, uni flavor along with an enhanced garlic flavor. This place has a nice ambiance for a date night or a casual dinner. The servers are very nice and attentive and the food comes out pretty fast. I've come to this spot a couple times already and I'll definitely be back to try out more things!

Great spot for skewers and sushi! The Trust Me Menu was delicious with assortment of sashimi presented beautifully. The bacon wrapped scallops were also super soft and delicious. Uni pasta wasn't bad, but manly tasted of Parmesan. A5 Wagyu plate was very rich and melt in your mouth and hamachi carpaccio perfect amount of acid and flavor. Chicken thigh skewer was on dryer side but 100% get the sashimi platter or bowl. Overall great spot and quality food

We found this while my parents were visiting and we've been back a few times!! Solid sushi spot, cute decor, nice staff. Only 4 stars cause they were out of several things while we were here, but it won't keep us from returning. Just means they have what the people want.

We've been coming here for a while now and the rolls, sushi, and service have always been consistent! I think they've been open for a little over a year now. The ambiance is very chill and cozy definitely a great spot to have conversations at.

Really good we have a good time there the sushi and sashimi is delicious and fresh The service is good two they give us a free plate

This spot gets packed!! After a long day walking around the Brea mall, we were starving and were craving sushi! We ended up doing take-out and had to wait an extra 20 minutes because they were that swamped! Our takeout order: Salmon Skin Salad* Karaage VIP Roll* Brea Roll Hamachi Kama (Yellowtail Collar)* *favorites Generous portion of salmon skin in the salad. VIP roll seemed to be popular and it ended up being our favorite roll. It has a variety of fish (salmon, tuna, yellowtail) so I can see why it's popular. The Yellowtail collar was grilled with lots of flavor. Karaage was a little dry for me. They had a lot of great options that we didn't order this round. We'll try to dine-in the next time and order more!

Service was great, maybe too attentive. Every roll was flavorful and didn't fall apart + Soft shell crab slider ($12): surprised to see them served in Hawaiian rolls, expected those white buns. Was okay, some sweet sauce (7.5/10) + VIPs only roll ($18 for 8pc): smokey and well packed (8/10) + Sunkiss roll ($18 for 8pc): refreshing with the ponzu sauce and lemon slice. (8.8/10)

Last minute dinner pivot and so glad we did! Small but cozy place. Staff super sweet and welcoming. Food was absolutely amazing melt in your mouth! Forgot to take a photo of the garlic edamame which was delicious. Happy hour Monday to Thursday 5pm to 8pm. Dont miss out on this little hidden gem.

First time trying this sushi restaurant as i saw the advertisement. Sushi rice was overcooked and very vinegar heavy, gyudon bowl was okay nothing special, sushi quality didnt taste fresh at all hints of fishy taste. Crispy rice has liquid everywhere which i never seen in my life. Unfortunately, this place was very underwhelming and disappointing. Cant believe i spent hard money to eat some sushi that was worse than Tokyo Central i mean damn Stater Bros sushi tastes better.

Came here for the first time for my friend's birthday. The location is very clean and provides a well lit but not too bright environment. I ordered the Luxe set as well as the Blue Crab and Uni Kaiseidon. It was very fresh and delicious! The price for it was pretty fair in my opinion too. The servers were very kind and I am also glad they offer yuzu kosho as a complimentary add-on to add to my order. I will definitely be back sometime in the near future!

Chirashi and Ikura Toro Uni Don
    Luke L.

Stopped by here at 1:30PM on New Year's Eve after leaving Kura because of a 1+ hour wait that we were not going to wait for. (But we still had the sushi craving.) At 1:30PM, there was 1-2 other tables with us in the restaurant. We were sat by in the booth closest to the door. (Definitely do not recommend this booth, there's decorative plants that kept me sitting at an angle the entire time so it didn't hit my head.) Both the food and drinks menu had a wide variety to choose from. We ordered 1 x Chirashi ($48), 1 x Toro Ikura Uni Don ($42), 1 x Tempura and 1 x Sweet Shrimp Sushi. For the price, the Chirashi and Toro Ikura Uni Don are slightly lacking compared to other $45-50 Chirashi/Dons. The bowl is on the smaller side and has a solid amount of fish but with 2-3 x smaller cuts each vs. some places that do a single cut of thicker fish. That one is a personal preference depending on your choice. My only gripe was the heads from the shrimp were not fried to the extent other restaurants would do the heads. After eating one, it had me wondering if it was meant to be eaten or if it was actually intended to be for presentation.

We arrived at approximately 9:10pm and were told that they would close at 10:00. We ordered in under 5 minutes. Food came out promptly. We were ready to respectfully be out by 10:00pm. But instead the servers kept coming to clear plates and take our napkins. It was approximately 9:40 and 3/4 members of our party were done. The server came again started further removing dishes and even placed a dish on top of something that was still being eaten even while we told them that we were not done yet. We would've have been out by 9:50 if they let us finish eating in peace. Instead we paid a good amount of money to eat rushed and excessively interrupted just to get us out 5 minutes sooner. Bad service. We were out by 9:46 and walked out disappointed.

Although it seems like they rush you a bit, they are always careful to ask if you're done. As omakases are known to clean up quickly to present the next dish/plate, I thought it was actually great that they were courteous while being efficient. The chefs were also very attentive, as they kept looking over if we were finished and ready for the next item in their lineup. I finish my sushi pieces a bit quicker than my partner, so the chef matched that by placing my pieces first and hers second, which I thought was a nice touch. As for the food, it was everything an omakase needs: flavor, consistency, and freshness. Each piece had its own story and it was expressed the only way each respective fish could be expressed. I always go in thinking I'm going to stay hungry by the end, but I am always proven wrong. For the price, I think this experience was well worth it. Everything was just clean: ambience, presentation, and taste. I would definitely do it again. It's within a small plaza, so there should be plenty of parking. A++!

First, the BOGO deal is awesome. There are happy hour deals, but we rarely get there in time to take advantage. It's just a bit of a drive for us to get there early enough. Second, the Chefs!!! Go to any sushi joint you want... you've got ONE chef slinging fish, totally backed up, trying his best to keep pace, and all the while losing attention to detail and presentation. CRnS always has 3 sometimes 4 Chef's behind the line. The result is faster service.... Of course.... But presentations that are almost too pretty to eat... but, it's sushi, so we eat them anyway. And third, the servers.... They are pretty consistent....There are not new servers every other week like some lesser joints. You get familiar with them and they get familiar you. Which leads me to James! James is awesome, polite, helpful, attentive, and just does a great job. I could never do it.... I'd be like "Bruh, I was just here 2 minutes ago, why didn't you ask more Wasabi and Ginger then?" Not James, always glad to bring us more Wasabi and Ginger.... Fifteen courses that are surprises because even tho there's a "template" of types of dishes, each one is ultimately the chef's choice. As each course was brought out, our waiter did an excellent job of describing what each item was and it's place of origin. Fifteen courses is alot to try to remember each specific dish so I decided to stay in the moment (after I snapped a pic) and enjoyed each one as we had them and talked about the flavor profiles and what we liked best about it. When my son had made the reservation he must have told them we were celebrating my birthday because in addition to the regular dessert course, our server brought me a birthday dessert which included green tea ice cream and a slice of matcha cheesecake. The full omakase experience was delicious and so fun! I told my son that it was like an advent calendar ~ each course we "opened" had us saying "ooo, how yummy" and left us with almost giddy anticipation of what we'd discover next. If you're looking for something fun and unique for a special occasion, I highly recommend the full omakase experience at Akashiro!

So we found this place and it was in the same vicinity and yay, they took reservations. Made reservations same day for a 18:30 seating. Service is impeccable. We were welcomed with hot towels, and this impressed me: when our server asked if we wanted cold or hot water. Love it! We opted for hot, better for digestion :) Our libation: Kubota sake - semi dry, rich, clean Our dishes: Assorted sashimi (16 pcs) - omakase. No soy sauce needed. Chef prepared with delicious flavors in mind. Tiger scallops - served in a what appears to resemble petrified wood, carved into a long boatlike dish. Hokkaido shrimp, cilantro oil, chilaquita (Peruvian onion relish), sweet potato crisp, smoke aji Amarillo (Peruvian yellow chili) Leche de tigre (rich emulsion of limes, Peruvian spices and chilis) - A complexity of flavors that comes together so completely. Eat with spoon. The delicate potato crisp finishes the bite with a little crunch. Udon picante - bell peppers, quinoa and 2 jumbo shrimp. Love the heat level. Comfort food at its best. Salmon parmesan - Nikkei sushi - seared salmon, parmesan bitter, eel sauce , arare, lime. Amazing. O toro sushi - the fattiest cut of tuna. Eat as is. Again chef prepared. No added seasoning required. Parri maki - fried shrimp, cream cheese, seared tuna topped with chimichurri, aji amarillo, chalaquita, ponzu. Food experience was enhanced by their impeccable taste in music. Super chill, soft beats stream the restaurant. With its perfect lighting too sets all the good moods for us. Don't wait for this fine dining experience of Japanese and Peruvian fusion. Note: when they ask if you want soy sauce, say No, thank you. It would be a shame to kill the taste of a beautiful dish with any added sauce. Kampai! Salud!
