This is the third time at same location. It was the worst experience I ever had . Tuna was falling apart, Salmon had skin on it. The spicy salmon hand roll was swimming in spicy sauce, so you didn't feel any taste of salmon, besides salmon peaces had skin on them, it made impossible to chew . I am vegan so I always need to customize my meals and Sushi Dan nailed THE BEST vegan roll ever. But hold on, let me brag in order. I've been here like 3-4 times. Most times I've had a waiter named Jake. He's the best. He has gone above and beyond in helping me eat the right vegan things and hes so lovely. Best customer service. The ambience was great too cozy but lively at the same time. We started off with pork gyoza (not pictured) then we god the shrimp cucumber tempura roll and the baked scallop roll (not pictured). I've never had scallop sushi before but it was our favorite. It's a baked California roll with eel sauce, mushroom, mayo siracha sauce and baby tiny scallops. I dined during a weekday happy hour at Sushi Dan. Rufino was my waiter. He was very attentive and friendly. I ordered the spicy tuna, yellowtail, salmon sashimi, and spicy edamame. Everything was extremely fresh and came out right away! I had a lovely experience and cannot wait to return. My only con is the parking... The lot is really small and there is rarely a spot. There is street parking before 6:00 in the neighborhood. So if you are coming to happy hour from 4-6 you won't have any problem. read more

It's 20 bucks and not worth the price at all. Don't even bother with the Crunch Scallop and Studio City. Not worth your time. The Studio City comes with semi-grilled onions, super oily, and doesn't taste anything like truffle. It's very disappointing. The crunch scallop really dropped the ball, it has so much potential, but it tastes really sad. And it was poorly wrapped, even when they placed it on the plate, it was falling apart. Very disappointed with the recent changes that have been made. We have been coming here for many years and they recently updated pricing while still advertising old prices and refused to honor what's on their website. Tried the Dan's Crab Cake Roll and it was the best one I've tried from here. The crab tasted fresh and was cooked just right. It's a fully baked roll and creamy so it's a little heavier but there are only six pieces so its a good meal size. The spicy salmon roll is good too! They are a little stingy with the ginger (and no ginger is packaged with baked rolls) so if you like a lot of ginger, like me, you have to ask for extra! Super weird side note that I'm not factoring into my review but maybe worth mentioning in case anyone else has a weird delivery experience: The delivery person called me at 6:30pm to see if I could meet him out at the street because he didn't find parking (but he ended up leaving it at the door before I went out). I then got TWO calls late that night at 12:45am that I ignored (and blocked). The quality is definitely not as good as Sugarfish or Katsuya but definitely better than all-you-can-eat sushi and better than those places where rolls are like $3. The sushi you get at Sushi Dan is reasonable for what you pay for. They have lots of table seating inside, you may have to wait a little bit depending on the time you go. The ambiance is casual. Good for a casual dinner with a friend or your partner, but not the place you want to take someone when you want to impress them. The menus are booklets and they come with lots of photos which is always helpful. They have lots of different rolls to choose from. My friend and I ordered three rolls and split them. We got the Forbidden Pleasure, the Joker Roll, and the Hot Night Roll. We also got a bottle of sake. I wouldn't order the Joker Roll again, it was my least favorite and had too much of a fishy taste for me. The quality didn't taste great either. The Forbidden Pleasure Roll was surprisingly good, good for onion lovers since it's loaded with sautéed onion. The Hot Night Roll was probably my favorite of the trio. It's fun to try different rolls so I recommend this restaurant for that, especially since it won't cost you an arm and a leg. read more

TLDR: I've eaten both dine-in (outdoor seating) & take out at Sushi Dan's. I'm definitely a fan of their rolls! I recommend the Baked Salmon, as well as the Forbidden Pleasure and the Crazy Roll. While I've had a great experience with their rolls, their new outdoor dining could use some slight improvement. Pros: - Delicious rolls for a reasonable price. I've ordered at least 5-6 different kinds and have yet to be disappointed. - The staff is very friendly and seem to be very attentive to being careful with COVID. They wear face masks and usually bring you some hand sanitizer when you dine outside. Cons: - The outdoor seating is a little limited so the wait can be longer depending on when you make a reservation. - One of the tables further back is really close to an alleyway which holds the dumpster. During my dine-in experience, the smell was pretty apparent. It wasn't too overpowering, but it was definitely there. We asked to move to a different table, but because it was so busy, the wait would have taken longer so we just sat and finished our food. The second picture is the same order which was delivered over the weekend. The amount and the quality has drastically declined. I just had the most horrible experience from every member of the sushi Dan staff and the manager was not available to do not a thing. I'm writing this review cause I honestly love the food the Latin customer service is beyond horrible and I am Puerto Rican. I called and Daniel puts me on hold for 15 mins and just sits the phone down. I tried to called back over 30 times and no one would answer due to him leaving the phone in his pocket. After nearly driving to the restaurant when I was trying to time it right I had to wait another 45 mins at the restaurant for my food. I arrived and speak with Daniel who had no remembrance of the event that just took place 5 mins ago. He asked if I want to pay which I did and while I paid he just started working on the next customer before even finishing up with me. Totally inconsiderate. I ask to speak a manager while I wait for my food and Daniel tells me he will be right out. After 40 mins I stand up and wait as it has been way too long and a Latina worker just brushes me out the way without even saying excuse me! More or less that's assault. In the end they said the manager is at storage now.. but when I asked to speak to him the first time when I called Daniel stated he was on lunch, I wait 40 mins and now he is completely unavailable. The experience which I normally don't have one as I have my honey goes in I just pay but was just disgusting. Seriously from a business owner to the next train your staff before.
