One of the best places to get sushi. You can tell that they use quality fish. I absolutely loved their crispy rice with spicy tuna appetizer. Has a serious kick to it! It was so tasty. We also got the sushi burrito which was delicious! All the sauces that came with it were fantastic. We sat right next to the chefs which was cool. One thing I would like to note is they make the sushi SO fast. We ordered everything at once, and it all came out almost at the same time. So don't be like us and order slowly, one by one. Otherwise you'll be in and out so fast. Unless that's what you want then go for it. I was seriously impressed by the speed and presentation of the food. I can't wait to come back again. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Prices are just right. It's in a small strip mall so parking is a little crazy sometimes, especially in the evening. read more

They referred to the inside to be containing "scrabmeat" which i was excited to try but to my surprise there actually is no such thing as "scrabmeat". The Asahi was good though, hopefully the Alaskan roll will be as well. 10/10 this place is sooo good!! I found this page on Yelp when I went out to the OC and was not disappointed!! When we arrived we were seated right away and were brought waters out. Our main server we ordered with and the fun began! The sushi rolls and salmon were so fresh and delicious. The server was nice enough to answer all of our random questions about sake and what not! Hello Yall! I just ate at the Sushi District! I was super excited to eat here because all the other sushi places in the area are pretty good and another one couldn't hurt. Anyways ;) , i was scanning a menu and was really excited and intrigued to have something on their Alaskan roll that contains "Scrabmeat" which sounded really cool and interesting. Sadly, we found out that this was only a typo and that there actually isn't even a thing called "Scrabmeat". Really makes you think, doesn't it? Anyways :), my friend was a but upset and actually complained to our waiter that the Wasabi wasn't real and tasted bad. I believe her statement was: "this wasabi has the consistency and taste of playdoh. Do you see?, sir, there is no more wasabi on the whole table. If this was real wasabi and I ate this much, my mouth would be on fire, my body would be on fire. Im not blaming you, i just wanted to let you know." The waiter was very understanding and had a kind and generous aura. I have the spice level intake of a british person who recently got their wisdom teeth taken out; so this was no concern to me. The mustard sauce on the rolls was delish. You can dine-in here. There is 6 feet of social distancing and plastic hanging as you enter your table. The service and food here is impeccable! My boyfriend and I tried this place upon looking up the yelp reviews. We have been back twice already within a two week timeframe. Young who was our waiter was very accommodating and provided outstanding customer service!!! He did not miss a beat. The ironic thing was I found a sushi roll named after me "sexy roll"!!! It was on point! While you're here enjoy a glass of beer as well. Shrimp tempura and seaweed salad was one of my favorites as well. After calling a few sushi places, this small corner restaurant answered and confirmed they had outdoor seating - and I'm so, so grateful they did. I've heard about this place for a while and now I know why. They have such a large menu with so many different rolls, appetizers, and fish available for sushi. Our waiter was awesome - I didn't catch your name but whoever you were, guy with the glasses and bleached hair, we love you. So, onto the food - the oysters on the half shell blew my mind. I wasn't expecting amazing...but amazing, they were. Throw some Tabasco on there for some extra heat or suck them down as is; either way they were awesome. The tuna nachos were spicy so beware to all those out there not into heat. But it was a super filling appetizer with lots of crunchy wonton chips. We got the Kim Jong-un roll and the black flag roll (I think) and I have to say that both were good but the Kim roll stole the show. Before I started eating plant based--I guess you can say I was pescatarian?? I ate a lot of sushi. A LOT. Fast forward to 2021, I stick to veggies and let my husband do all the meat and fish eating. It's not always easy to find places where we can both find options for both of us that aren't just one item on the menu for me (usually fries. No complaints tho ;) lol) I was craving sushi and sure there are a couple strictly vegan sushi places but not that close to where it wouldn't take and hour to get to us. We had this place bookmarked to try and let me tell you...I was so happy. There was an option made just for me!!! I just arrived home after 10 days in Japan. We ate sushi every day, and ever since I've been back home, I couldn't get sushi off my mind. However, I've been hesitant to go anywhere because I feared that I'd be super let down. I was wrong! This place is right by my house and of course, Japan had a huge variety of fish, but I can not expect that from anywhere in CA unless I'm willing to pay a 150-200$ Omikase. The fish here was pleasantly fresh and delicious! Service is great as well, try to sit at the sushi bar. Here's what I ate. Everything was nigiri, and the rice was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The amount of seafood they delicately placed on top of the sushi rice was a great portion as well - like they do in Japan. * Bluefin tuna (recommended by the sushi chef) Outstanding! This melted in my mouth, I was looking for toro, but they sold out. But all good! This was absolutely amazing. * Uni This also surprised me! The Uni looked great and it tasted even better. A lot of the Uni I've had in CA has been not that great, but this Uni was fresh, full of flavor, and surprisingly better than some of the Uni I had in Japan (the cheaper spots of course, rotating sushi etc) * Ikara The ikara was okay. Definitely not bad, but not great. Which is fine because I only liked ikara from a few places in Japan, I think this is one of those things that has to be extremely fresh, and high quality in order for it to be outstanding. Came here on a sat afternoon and besides the service being really slow (only 4 customers in restaurant) the young man serving us was walking around coughing and snorting everywhere. Completely disgusting and killed my appetite. With covid going around, it's ridiculous that they would let him come to work visibly and audibly sick and be around other people's food. Went here with my family. We tried 3 rolls and we were disappointed. Fish and shrimp did not taste fresh, and the rolls were heavy with the mayo. The spicy tuna on crispy rice was too big to eat. It was twice the size of everywhere else I've been so nobody could properly eat it - too much rice. We also got few bento boxes. The sesame chicken was pretty good. The beef bulgogi was tough meat and swimming in sauce. The spicy chicken was the same, and was too sweet and not enough spice. Katsu chicken was overcooked. Gyoza tasted mushy in the inside almost like they deep fried them from frozen - my kids love gyoza but barely ate any. While still eating our appetizers, the entrees started coming out. I had my hands full eating and holding things and asked the server to come back with the last bento box. She then put the bento box on our table so we had to quickly consolidate appetizers on to one plate so that she can take some plates off the table to make room for the last bento box. Yummy fresh sushi. It's a smaller restaurant. Maybe a bar of 6 ppl and 5-6 tables. Also the parking lot can get a little tight in the plaza. But overall this place has a great vibe. Music playing when you come in, you get greeted almost immediately. And they have good customer service! The waiters and chefs were all really nice. I noticed they do a lot of take out. This place is horrible. The main manager or sushi chef is name is Douglas and if you sit at the sushi bar he makes fun of his other customers and talks smack on them. Not very professional. He is constantly smoking cigarettes and then comes in and doesn't wash his hands. He is always at every girls table trying to hit on them and is a horrible sushi bar owners. Found Sushi District on Yelp and thought I'd give it try. Started with Hamachi Kama (yellow tail collar) which was cooked perfectly. We order this at every sushi place that offers it and most of the time it is over cooked and dry. But sushi district did it right. Moist, glistening and seasoned well. We also had the garlic edamame which was also very good. If you're a garlic lover like us, it's a must. Then we ordered the blue crab roll in soy paper. The roll was delicious. Didn't really care for the sesame sauce it came with but it was so nice to have a real crab option instead of always the same ol "krab" that rolls usually come with. The tuna "nachos" were good. My friend enjoyed them more than I did. Tuna and jalapeño on fried wonton chips. Lastly, we had some regular sushi pieces. Yellow tail, salmon and octopus.
