It's one of our favorites! The atmosphere is welcoming. Quick service. Casual setting and family oriented. I love the music that plays while you're dining. A mixture of different relaxing genres. Today, they had some songs by Frank Sinatra. The protein roll is a good choice if you're trying to cut carbs. My husband usually gets a portion of sushi pieces like Toro, Yellowtail, Bluefin, Ikura, Uni, and Salmon. Must Go: Great Fresh Sushi with Limited Seating Capacity. Location: Parking can be a bear here sometimes as it shares a small parking lot with others but if you like sushi it's worth the aggravation. Ambiance: Typical quaint sushi restaurant without a view or outdoor dining. That said, you can come in wearing shorts and flip flops or a suit. Doesn't matter, and oftentimes find both sitting next to one another at the bar. Service: Okay, small dining area with great sushi...you're probably going to have to wait a bit. Also don't come with more than a few friends unless you're good being seated a different tables because the layout doesn't allow for moving tables into a group. Food: Well, what can I say other than probably one of the best sushi places in San Diego. Definitely for PB to Clairemont to... My wife likes a place a little closer to us in La Jolla but in my book Sushi Fish Attack beats it in taste, creativity and price. Cleanliness: No worries. Not upscale, but hands down the best value in San Diego considering the quality of their sushi. My wife and I come here several times per month. Service is always friendly, although sometimes slow because it can get so busy. However, it is definitely worth the wait! Sashimi and Nigiri and fresh specials (Uni, Toro) are always great. Food is good but they no longer allow pets in the outdoor dining area. When I asked the manager when they stopped allowing pets he said 5 years ago which is not true as I dined there with my pets last year. So they are no longer pet friendly and dishonest about it. read more

Silly name good sushi, the staff seemed to struggle with how they would implement COVID concerns, but good was fresh and good, some of the pricing fluctuations need to be addressed by mgt, for example like many resturaunt cost have gone up, you can see the differences on the new in-house menus, and the online posted pricing, a difference of 10% higher on new in menu. I mentioned the differences, they said they were too busy to update the increases to the on line menu, and just roll with it, sushi rollin. A small and quiet restaurant with a very warm feeling when entering. I have had two experiences at Sushi Gish Attack. The first experience, the food was delicious and came out super quick. The service was incredible and I was already excited to go again. The second experience was not so great. The food was good, but the waitress messed up everyone's order. So in my party of six, each person was disappointed about something. We also wanted a drink menu for the table and they kept taking it away for some reason. Our appetizers all came out at different kinds even if it was the exact same appetizer. For example, we got two orders of crispy wontons and they came out twenty minutes apart (it does not make sense). So I was bummed because this establishment went from a four star to a three star in my eyes. Food: (5 stars) delicious, the fish is fresh, the entrees such as the udon and the takis iba are delicious (I wish I got the udon I ordered, I would've enjoyed it better I Believe especially since I asked the waitress which option was better and she i ordered the one she suggested and I ended up getting a completely different one. Service: I don't think this establishment is comfortable, prepared, or trained to serve parties larger than 4. Out service was not great. The people were all kind but there was no communication between them which really hindered our experience. At the end they offered us fried dumplings, after we were all full because of how long we waiting and for all of our inconveniences. This is probably my second favorite sushi place! Their fishes are fresh, served and presented well plus its delicious. It's not pricy but good quality. My son loved their chicken teriyaki and California roll. I would suggest their thousand island roll, Fish Attack Stack, sashimi sampler, cherry blossom and spicy dragon rolls. Their uni is a really good deal as well for 2peices for $15. For appetizers I would suggest the avocado tempura, it's so good! They accept walk ins but they tend to get really busy depending on the days and time. The restaurant is not as huge but it's quiet neat and served good foods. Servers are all nice and attentive. Came here for a Friday night dinner with my meetup group. Fridays apparently are the busiest for sushi restaurants so they do not take reservations. It's first come, first serve with everyone in the group. The interior is a bit set than it seems and it looks as though its suited for smaller tables. They have a patio on the outside though definitely a bit chillier at night. Parking is somewhat hard as they share a rather awkwardly shaped parking lot with the boomerangs and other shops within the vicinity. I got to the place a hour earlier, so the waitress was nice enough to check on me once in a while to see if everyone in my party arrived. I had a party of four. When 2 of the other girls arrived, we decided to get seated and gazed over the menu. We got the fried octopus appetizer, quite tasty! I thoroughly enjoyed it, the crunchy texture and the little octopus itself. And a total of three rolls - sushi attack, lollipop, and volcano. We chose Sushi Attack mainly due to the pictures. It was a beautiful design. It was okay. Lollipop - presentation was interesting even more with a candle! We mainly got it for Pia who blew it out and then we devoured it. Volcano - definitely earns its name through the presentation and the explosion of taste. Service was okay or rather not so good. There was a lot of waiting involves. We had also asked to get a picture so we can have a memory of our first meetup together but we were told to wait and then 15 minutes passed as they went to a bunch of other tables to take orders. We waited a while to order and then after ordering a appetizer and two sushi dishes. We waited extremely long to order the third roll. They had three waitresses working along with 3-4 chefs but it looked like one of them was new. Bathrooms are small but cute doors leading in. The service is absolutely fantastic, everyone is so friendly and Jin in particular is amazing! The fish is the freshest I've had, & the nigiri and roles are awesome (most creative sushi roles I've ever tried). They even have a huge selection of Japanese beers that I've never seen elsewhere, and a nice list of sake. Such a cute, authentic/traditional, intimate little place with incredible quality sushi. Some people I know rave about this place, but personally I think its okay. We dined here on a sunday night, it was partially full, but completely filled up quickly. It is a very small establishment. Better for smaller parties. All the employees here are very quick and efficient. I hate the super small tables when you have huge plates. Complimentary edamame is a plus! Although it was very dry, and only seasoned with salt. Large Hot Sake Sake was served steaming and was very delicious! Calamari Very small serving of calamari, extremely lightly breaded. The squid didn't taste fishy and seemed fresh so thats good. But they gave a very thin slice of lemon which is not at all suitable to be squeezed to get any juice top top off the calamari which was poor. But did come with a side of Japanese mayo for dipping. Protein Roll (NO RICE, w/soy paper. in: real crab, *krab, spicy tuna, avocado, cucumber top: salmon, yellowtail, smelt eggs, green onions (garlic ponzu) Not quite sure why you would put both fake crab and real crab together... But there was a good even distribution of of salmon and yellow tail. It was okay, not much flavor, nothing spectacular. Kamikaze Roll (in: scallop, real crab, *krab, spicy tuna, asparagus, top: salmon, yellowtail, (spicy mayo, teriyaki sauce) This roll was very similar to the protein roll except it had rice and scallops. I like at there was a good even amount of both fishes, as well as two pieces of scallop per sushi slice. Vegas (Deep-fried roll - in: salmon, albacore, real crab, *krab, cream cheese, avocado (sprout, eel sauce) This roll was very lightly battered but had a nice slight crunch. And it comes with only 6 slightly bigger slices rather than a full 8. Not much meat in this roll. But it was tasty. I was tempted to get other popular rolls like the Lollipop Roll or other specialty rolls but they didn't seem to have much fish content and it was more just rice and veggies. For awhile it was Sushi Diner but I was getting tired of how saucy the dishes were there- they go HAM on that spicy mayo and eel sauce. I was craving sushi and did a quick search on Yelp for riceless sushi (since I'm on a low carb diet). Decided to try this place and was not disappointed. The husband and I got the protein roll (my favorite of the meal), fish attack stack and jalapeño bomb. They were delicious and not overly saucy (which I find to be a common problem with many sushi places). My kids had 2 California rolls and a bowl of tofu udon (we were surprised that they only had vegetable udon and tofu udon on the menu for noodles as most places offer some sort of meat option). They reported that the California rolls were good and the udon was one of the best they've had. Our server was also especially attentive and checked on us often. Already been here three times this month and I love the happy hour! I know it's only for a good hour but the food is amazing. Also... their sake bomb special is until 7PM. It's perfect for dinner since most cut off happy hours end between 5-6! The staff is great. They're very welcoming and when you leave they say, "See ya tomorrow!" which is clever because I literally came back from twice in one week. Ha! Food wise I'm satisfied with their selection so far. I've tried majority of their happy hour appetizers and it's delicious to me. As well as their sushi rolls. (My by far favorite roll is the playboy roll). Overall experience the atmosphere is great. I was surprised by their music selection especially when they would play 90's RNB and Pop. Majority of their tables are for two but they work as quickly as they can to seat! I had the Super Salmon: inside has real crab, krab, cucumber, avocado topped with fresh salmon, thinly sliced lemon. Nice bright and light bite! Can't beat the classic rainbow roll too! But last night, it took over 15 minutes for anyone to even come by our table (this is a very small restaurant.) Then, it took another 45 minutes just to get the first starter. We were ordering sushi and sashimi, so there was nothing to cook! Also, some of our nigiri was missing when it finally came out. Nobody offered an explanation or a remedy for the ordeal.
